- If you bring more guests than you requested in your reservation you WILL BE evicted with no refund (sorry to be harsh about this but we have to be 100% accurate with our occupancy to maintain our rental permit, and our septic system).
-You will need a 4WD, high clearance vehicle October- May, and a comfort level with mountain driving to get to our remote home. If severe snowstorms are predicted, you will need to park above the house on a parking pad, and walk 50 yards down the driveway. Boots are needed.
-The house is at 9000 feet. Services are not always readily available, we get up to 500 inches of snow, there are no hotel type amenities, and it is a regular home, so things can break or go wrong unexpectedly. Cell phones often don't work, and we don't have cable TV or Netflix- this is a vacation for those who want to unplug. There may be dust on the ceiling fan, or ashes in the fireplace. If these are the kinds of things that will bother you, this is probably not a good fit.

The house looks pretty much straight out towards the mountains. If you stand outside in front of the house, you can see 2 homes farther down the mountain about 150 yards. One is occupied full time, and the other is a vacation home. There is also a home on the other side of our driveway, about 100 yards from our home. There is a house further up the mountain that can be partially seen, depending on where you are standing outside. We have a fairly long drive, and it feels private.

Often. Sometimes way more than other times and the driving can be challenging.
---Does the house have air conditioning?
No. Even on the hottest summer days, it cools off at night.
---How are the driving conditions?
It depends on the weather. Our neighborhood has hard packed dirt roads, and we have a paved driveway. One mile of the drive up the mountain is fairly steep. A 4WD high clearance vehicle is definitely needed in winter November-March, but we can have large dumps of snow as early as October and as late as May. Early and late snow melts fast and is easily plowed, but can cause travel delays.
---Does the house have cable, Netflix, TV plug in for more watching options....?
No. Colorado has endless, amazing outdoor options, and we love to wear ourselves out during the day, disconnect from all of the electronics, and enjoy the hot tub, fireplace or fire pit, grilling out, and playing games in the evening. There is a large TV and DVD player for an occasional movie night.
---Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, but we have the basic package with limited data, so plenty for researching local trails, checking email, etc. but not enough for video streaming/movie watching. Again, we go there to unplug.

Since its inception, everyone that has visited this house has commented positively about the space. Owner designed, and built with the help of local craftsman, no detail was left untouched. With 15' high vaulted ceilings, south facing aspect, passive solar design, and filled with an abundance of windows, this house is flooded with light, color, and ample ventilation. When temperatures drop, in floor radiant heat takes over to provide warmth underfoot and an auxiliary gas stove provides instant heat. With an amazing view of Mount Thorodin, also know as the "sleeping giant", this 10'500 foot mountain is the focal centerpiece. Perched on top of a hill and surrounded by trees, one has the feeling of being in a "tree house".

The property is located in a rural mountain neighborhood and is very secluded as it backs up to National Forest service land, however, it is less than only one mile away from a major highway (Hwy 72) and has ample parking. It is very quiet consisting of only two other neighbors with ample spacing. Even though the property has a Black Hawk address, it is actually closer to the small but bustling mountain town of Nederland. The local area provides numerous summer and winter recreation activities and is flanked by the Continental Divide Mountain Range with protected Wilderness areas. Minutes away, Eldora Ski Resort provides world class Alpine skiing and a Nordic Center with over 40 kilometers of groomed trails.

Approximate time to local areas : 10 minutes to Nederland (nearest town), 20 minutes to Eldora Ski Resort, 25 minutes to Black Hawk, 35 minutes to Boulder, 55 minutes to Denver, and 1 hour 15 minutes to Denver International Airport (DIA).

Guest access: This house is a three story house, of which guests have exclusive access to the 1st floor ( main living area ) with separate entrance, deck, hot tub, and grill, and the 2nd floor (master suite) with spa bathroom, bedroom and adjoining balcony. The owner/host resides in the lower level of the house with separate entrance and shares no common spaces with guests. Guests also have free access to local micro brewed beer on tap in the kitchen as well as organic coffee and filtered water.

Other things to note: During winter months, an AWD or 4WD vehicle is recommended. Cell coverage is limited, currently AT&T. WiFi and WiFi calling are available as well as a land line and phone for local and emergency calls. If you do not have AT&T, it is advisable to set up WIFI calling with your provider before arrival. Check - in is anytime after 4 pm and check - out is by 10 am. Quiet hours are from 10 pm - 8 am. No parties, no shoes or smoking inside the house.

Though the second bedroom has twin beds, my daughter and her friend slept comfortably. Kelli also left lots of nice touches like portable fans in the bedrooms, pain reliever, games, extra blankets and lots of pillows. She checked in mid-week and brought fresh towels and toilet paper and carried off trash and dirty laundry. Someplace Beneath the Moon - Black hawk is a cozy bohemian mountain home with all the best vibes. Our intention is to provide you with a comfortable place to stay in a beautiful setting. We welcome respectful friends, couples, families, and travelers to come and enjoy the fresh mountain air. We are located in the heart of Gilpin County at 9,000 ft in elevation, close to beautiful hikes, restaurants, casinos, breweries, and so much more!

The space
Our private mountain getaway is super cozy and very spacious for small groups. The space has two queen beds and two full baths suitable for families, couples, travelers, and friends. Guests have the entire house and property to themselves.

Living area - The living space is full of natural light and is freshly refurnished. There is plenty of comfortable seating for you and your family to enjoy. The two large windows overlook the front porch and the beautiful mountain views of Golden Gate State Park across the street. We have wifi, a bluetooth speaker, and a smart TV with Netflix, Disney +, Prime, and HBO included. Being up in the mountains cell service can be a bit spotty. We do have a Verizon cell booster and both T-Mobile and At&t have spotty reception. Wifi calling works great!

Bedrooms - The two bedrooms with queen beds are suitable for a traveler on the go or an extended stay. Each room offers comfortable bedding, a white noise machine, a steamer, plenty of hangers, large closet, a makeup mirror, and dresser for you to stay organized while being away from home.

Kitchen and Dining - Our large kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and entertaining. We have a dining space off of the living room and a few bar stools in the kitchen that makes the perfect breakfast spot.

Bathrooms - there are two full bathrooms stocked with high quality shampoo, conditioner, and plenty of comfy towels.

We have a beautiful 3 season sunroom off of the master bedroom with big windows that overlook the back deck and our zen water fountain that runs until late fall. The sunroom is perfect for your morning coffee or afternoon tea. On a nice day, which it usually is, you can open the windows and embrace the fresh mountain air while listening to the fountain outside. The back deck offers lots of seating, a grill for cook outs, and two hammocks for you and your friends to enjoy. Our entire back yard is completely fenced in and private. We also have a horse shoe pit located in the front yard!

One of our favorite parts of our space is the hot tub! Its super private and will be ready for you to enjoy when you arrive. The tub is not the newest feature on the property but it's clean, comfortable, and a great way to relax after a long day of enjoying the area! We will have a few robes located in the laundry room along with hot tub towels. Our guest are also more than welcome to use the washer and dryer during your stay.

Our gravel driveway may be considered steep by some but it does not require a 4x4 vehicle and there are plenty of parking spaces available.

As secluded as we are, we are within walking distance to Taggert's convenience & gas located across the street, but not in view from the property. If you're feeling a little adventurous the Underground Liquor Store is also a short quarter mile walk.

Winter at 9,000 ft can start as early as September but doesn't fully set in until November. In the winter months you can expect a snow packed, plowed driveway, two sets of snow shoes, and a hot tub ready for you to enjoy.

Our home is located at 9,000 ft in elevation and is usually about 10-15 degrees cooler than the Denver area. The snowy season can start as early as September but usually doesn't go into full swing until November

Large windows on all sides, and especially south-facing, offer long views of meadows, forest, hills, mountains, with blackout curtains for sleeping and privacy. At nearly 9000 feet, you will watch the changing high-altitude weather in comfort and amazement. There is cozy fireside seating by the smart television which offers you Dish cable including local Denver channels for news, sports, weather, plus. Fast Starlink internet allows you to work remotely, enjoy gaming, and use your own streaming services.

- "Absolutely beautiful! The cabin was beautiful and had some pretty amazing sites!" - "My wife and I recently stayed here for 4 nights, and we were both very satisfied with the cabin. You can tell a lot of time and money were put into it. Even down to the little decorative details, we couldn't think of a single thing we would change. We didn't need to contact Evolve or any of the other help even once. Everything was in perfect working order. Very clean and tidy. There are a couple of things to note though that aren't specific to the cabin itself. It is located on a lot that is right up against a fairly busy highway. When you are inside, you cannot hear the traffic, but being outside during the day, it is definitely noticeable. It wasn't a huge deal for us, but it definitely takes away from the secluded cabin in the mountains feel when you are outdoors. Another thing to note. If you are staying here, do yourself a favor and make sure you arrive during the day. We made the mistake of staying out at Red Rock for the day and coming here at night, and the drive through the mountains in pitch darkness was terrifying. So many winding roads and couldn't see 10ft in front of us and it even started hailing at one point (in May). During the day though, the driving wasn't as bad, but still a lot of twist and turns and steep grades. Rent yourself a vehicle with 4WD for sure. In Blackhawk itself, there isn't much to do besides outdoorsy things like hiking or going to the casino in town. We originally planned on maybe going to Boulder on a day trip, or down to a hot spring, but honestly, getting up and down out of the mountain was daunting enough to keep us in Blackhawk and the immediate surrounding area. All in all, this is a fantastic cabin that is in immaculate condition. The only gripes we had were more with the location and proximity/accessibility to other things/places we wanted to do. This was more than enough cabin for the two of us, but would be perfect for two couples or a family getaway."

~The First Floor~
Walk up the stairs to the front porch, be sure to turn around, and take in the gorgeous mountain views. Use the keypad (code will be provided) to enter the main floor through the front door.

The main floor features a large open floor plan with a dining room, family room, adorable kitchen, full bathroom, laundry, storage closets, and access to the expansive back deck.

The kitchen is fully equipped with butcher block countertops and all you will need for your stay including a gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, air fryer, 12 cup brew coffee pot, knife set, toaster, dishes, glassware, masher, wine/bottle opener, cocktail shaker, baking sheets, pots and pans, cleaning supplies, BBQ tools, muffin tins, dish rack, casserole pans, measuring utensils, mixing bowls, strainer, blender, pitcher, cutting board, Tupperware, grater, veggie peeler, ice cream scoop, silverware, pizza cutter, crockpot, hand mixer, as well as a gas grill on the deck.

Turn the jukebox on to your favorite tunes and enjoy a delicious meal at the large dining room table. Or, use the table to play some of your favorite games.
The open family room is the perfect place to relax after dinner. Log into your favorite streaming app, hop on the comfy couch in front of the smart tv and cozy fireplace and unwind while watching your favorite show. Or, disconnect and read a book while gazing at the stars through the skylight while listening to your favorite music.

When you're ready to go to sleep, the master suite is located on the main floor with a queen bed and an adjoining shared full bathroom.

~The Second Floor~
The second bedroom is located upstairs and is also fitted with a memory foam queen bed and the coolest reading nook you've ever seen.

Also, upstairs is a small half bath which will definitely be one of the smallest and most unique bathrooms ever. Flush, the toilet, and the water comes out of a small faucet on top of the back of the toilet seat. Use it to wash your hands (it's clean). Talk about using all available space.

There is also a desk upstairs perfect for working from home. Although, we hope you do not have to work too much and can enjoy all Colorado has to offer.

One of our favorite features of the house is also located upstairs. We call it meditation station. Sit on the floor pillows and meditate, read a book, or play the guitar all while surrounded by the sweet smell of essential oils. We hope you leave this space feeling rejuvenated.

~Outdoor Space~
The back deck features a brand new hot tub, string lights, an outdoor dining space, Adirondack chairs surrounding the propane fire pit (open fires are not permitted), and a gas grill.

~ Child Amenities~
One high chair and pack and play provided (bring your own sheets and mattress if desired), a few kid's toys and books, and a ball pit/pack and play (must be requested).

~Pet Amenities~
We love having dogs visit the dome and allow one per guest (pet fee $75), but we need to make sure they are safe. Never leave your dog unsupervised at the dome unless the dog is in a crate (which is provided for you). Pick up your dog's poop and dispose of it in the outdoor trash can. Keep your dog on a leash when outside of the fenced-in backyard and be mindful of wildlife. We provide a crate, dog bowls, poop bags, towels for drying their paws, and an extra leash.

~Important to Know~
The dome is professionally cleaned and disinfected in between every guest's stay!

Only AT&T has cell reception at the dome. We hope you will use this as a time to unwind, relax, and reconnect. However, guests will need to access WiFi-enabled calling which is available on most iPhones and Androids.

Our internet is highspeed and plenty capable to allow you to work from home but it has its limitations you could experience some lag/buffering if multiple devices are connected and streaming.

Winter Tips: We have the driveway plowed and try to keep the steps shoveled but due to the frequent and rapid snowstorms, it is possible that the steps will be covered in snow. Feel free to use the show shovels provided and be careful going up the steps. We do not come shovel during your stay.

Our road is maintained and plowed during the winter season, but 4WD or AWD is recommended from November-May. Without it can turn into and adventure, so please be aware and well equipped to travel in the mountain winters during your visit, if traveling between November-May.

This is a great place for the family to explore, or just find a place to sit and relax. 2 acres of yard, woods and trails, perfect for finding a place by the creek to sit and enjoy the fresh mountain air.

We are friendly to smokers but ONLY outside. Be very careful with smoking, as our mountain neighborhood is highly susceptible to wildfire. Therefore we ask for no campfires on the property- please enjoy the pellet stove inside, but absolutely no outside burning. Do not drop smoking debris on the ground!
We are pet friendly and charge a reasonable deposit for your 4 legged family to join you, but we request that guests must pick up after your pets poo.

This is a remote property, across the road from Arapahoe National Forest, 5 miles to Golden Gate Canyon State Park and the historic towns of Black Hawk and Central City where you can explore, discover history, check out the casinos and be within 1 hour of world-class ski resorts. Plenty of interest for birders and many areas for hiking and mountain and/or road biking. You will enjoy a quiet and beautiful area surrounded by an aspen meadow, next to a small pond where you may (ya never know!) see moose, deer, coyotes, bear and other wildlife. Enjoy the night sky and do some star gazing. The nearest ski area, Eldora, is approximately 25 minutes away. Loveland Ski Area and Winter Park are about1 hour away. This apartment is quiet, spacious and very well stocked. The environmentally conscious owner lives upstairs. All soaps are cruelty-free and in refillable containers, recycled toilet paper and paper towels, cloth napkins, LED lighting, repurposed kitchen countertops are made from the floors of train cars. Recycling container provided and recycling is encouraged. Children and dogs are always welcome and toys and books are provided for young children. There is a $30 pet fee per dog with a maximum of two dogs, I will provide pet necessities, such as bowls and blankets. You will find organic pet treats on arrival. Pet and child care are available for additional cost if arrangements are made in advance and I am available. Pet waste MUST be picked up. Compostable poop bags and a special trash can for such are provided. Enjoy the gas firepit with family and friends. Please come and visit - no one has been disappointed! 9,000 feet high in altitude. It is highly suggested that guests must drink proper water, and bring Tylenol or even Gingko Biloba to help with altitude acclimation.

Please refrain from smoking of any kind in the house or on the grounds as fire danger is a real issue, which we deal with year-round. We also want to avoid lingering odor and residue for the next guest. $100 per day of reservation will be charged if this rule is broken.

***The Space***
Ellsworth Creek Guest Suite is the garden-level guest apartment of Ellsworth Creek Lodge, which may be occupied by other guests.

The Guest Suite has all of its own amenities (kitchen, bath, laundry room, patio, BBQ, private entrance). There is no interior access between the Guest Suite and the main Lodge.

Despite the home's rustic log exterior, the guest suite is very modern.

Both the living room and the bedroom are equipped with 50-inch Roku TVs and have access to Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, and Vudu.

Custom beetle-kill pine kitchen with concrete counters, range, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, and dish washer.

Dining seating for up to six at the table and bar counter.

The guest suite naturally stays cool (65-70 degrees) even on the hottest summer days. You will not need or miss air conditioning.

Coffee, tea, sugar, dry cereal, and oatmeal are provided.

No need to mess with keys as you will have your own access code for the front door.

****PLEASE NOTE****
The main upstairs lodge may be occupied by other guests. Ceilings were insulated and sound-dampening underlayment was installed under the wood floors upstairs to minimize sound transmission from the main lodge. However, the wood floors and HVAC ducts still conduct noise so expect to hear noise from upstairs. We do ask that all guests respect quiet hours from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am.

Gilpin County road maintenance is very good after snow storms. Better than Denver Metro most days. However, winter mountain weather can make roadways challenging at times. The driveway is short but is up hill to get out. Even when roads and the driveway are plowed, snow often compacts creating icy surfaces. Two-wheel drive vehicles may experience difficulty during winter months.

Four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles are typically not necessary but are recommended between November and April due to unpredictable weather and road conditions.

Forest and mountain-side views are all around the property. The adjacent neighbor's property includes a scenic pond that feeds Ellsworth Creek.

Ellsworth Creek runs through the back yard of the property. Typical of mountain streams, water flow can be low in late summer and fall.

Two neighboring homes are visible from this property. Peak to Peak Highway 119 is also visible from the back yard half way up the mountain side.

***Phone and Internet***
Not many cell services work in Gilpin County except AT&T. However, onsite WiFi allows for WiFi calling from most phones.

The home's internet is a 37 Mbps DSL land-line service through Century Link. Service interruptions are very rare as there are no dishes, satellites, cell towers, or portable WiFi devices to worry about. The router is on a battery backup so you should have internet service even in the event of a power outage, which is also very rare.

The property does not have land-line phone service.

Walking through the front door of this cozy and intimate mountain cabin, you’re immediately enveloped by a sense of warmth and charm. To your right is a quaint dining area, perfectly sized for sharing meals or quiet conversations. The dining space flows seamlessly into a fully equipped kitchen, where rustic details and modern conveniences invite you to whip up hearty breakfasts or simple dinners after a day of exploring the mountains.
Straight ahead, the living room welcomes you with its cozy arrangement. A soft couch, which doubles as a pullout bed, is perfectly positioned near a small wood-burning fireplace, casting a gentle glow and adding to the cabin’s snug ambiance. A sliding glass door between the kitchen and living room opens onto a back deck. From here, you’ll step out to take in the crisp mountain air, surrounded by the tranquil rustle of trees. Take a short walk to find a lovely creek running through the property.
Back inside, opposite the sliding glass door, a small yet thoughtfully designed bathroom sits just off the living room. The full bath features a bathtub/shower combo, offering a relaxing soak or a quick rinse before settling in for the evening.

WEATHER
-You will be in the Rocky Mountains at 9,100’ in elevation. Weather can be unpredictable, and the winds may be severe.
-The road going up the mountain is VERY steep.
-4-wheel drive is *REQUIRED* Oct 1-May 31st.
-Medium or high-clearance vehicles required year round.
-If you come during the winter, we ask that you have experience driving in the snow. Winter weather can be unpredictable and we want our guests to be safe.
-When storms come, I pay a driver to clear the driveway, however if storms persist you may need to do some shoveling on the steps, walkway, around your car (shovels and salt provided).
-The county maintains the private dirt road, and they plow between 6 am and 11 am, normally, but our road is secondary in importance during big storms.
-The winds often create snow drifts, so you may have to deal with the aftereffects of Rocky Mountain snow/winds during the winter months.

ELEVATION
It's important to note that the higher altitude means thinner air, which can affect your physical well-being. 9,100’ is extremely high elevation! Please be mindful of the potential challenges and exertion that may come with residing at this elevation. If you are coming from sea-level, I recommend you be in decent physical shape. Your body can take up to 3 months to adapt to altitude; it’s not something that happens quickly. You should also drink more water than when at sea level; it’s extremely dry in the Rockies.

-Starklink is extremely fast, but there is no cell service at the cabin (Except for a fleeting AT&T one-bar when the wind blows right 😆)
-You must enable “Wi-Fi Calling” on your phone to make calls or receive texts.
-“Wi-Fi Calling” is a separate setting on your phone. It is usually turned off by default.
-You may need to add “Wi-Fi Calling” to your phone’s plan.

The cabin is equipped with nearly all tools you may need to cook. Just bring groceries!!
Wood pellet smoker, pots, pans, lids, dishes, toaster, Keurig coffee maker, electric water kettle, microwave, dish drying rack, dish clothes, kitchen towels, pot holders, veggie peeler, can opener, wine openers, pizza stone, convection oven with air-fryer function, gas range, knives, cutting boards, colander, mixing bowls, etc.

There are oils, spices, coffee, teas, vinegars, sugar, etc available for you as well!

BATHROOM
-There are nice soft bath towels/wash cloths, and all-cotton robes.
-Heated tile floors, a Toto toilet, and a black granite vanity surface.
-The shower has shampoo and conditioner; usually Pantene Pro-V or Dove.
-The body wash is usually Suave or Dove.
-There is a washer and dryer, but please limit the use of these as much as possible. The cleaning company will wash towels/sheets. (The well is shallow, so delicate water consumption is required. Thank you!)

The cabin was designed for you to get away, relax, and enjoy some peace and quiet. The 700 sq/ft cabin may be small, but it is mighty! We have purposely created a space with *no TV* so you can unwind and decompress, but of course, internet is available on the property for your own devices. The living room, dining room, and kitchen are one space allowing for intimate time together. The large bedroom has a king bed (with Leesa mattress) and a fold out twin bed. There is also another fold out twin bed in the living room. The deck is perfect for early morning coffee or late night drinks. In the winter, curl up in front of the wood stove after a day of skiing or exploring. Access to National Forest is directly from the property at the back gate allowing you to enjoy hiking and biking in the summer and fall and in the winter enjoy nordic skiing, snowshoeing, and more.

Everyone is so kind! This little cabin is great if you need to recharge or if you need a getaway to get some work done. " - "This is a beautiful cabin, very comfortable. Make sure that you have the access code to get in well before you get there. You will not have any cell phone coverage while in that area until you can use the Wi-Fi at the cabin. Cell phone coverage in the area is spotty at best. Also there's not a lot in the area for groceries or dining out unless you drive to Blackhawk, Central City or Nederland. So you might want to bring some groceries in. We had a few snags with access and Wi-Fi which the hostess promptly helped with. The best part of this place is the deck. We spent a lot of time enjoying the view, the smells of the forest, the hummingbirds. The front door entrance area is not a bad place to sit and enjoy a different view too, getting out of the sun or rain. "

The space
The lot is open and spacious. It faces south and west for maximum sun exposure. Enjoy mountain views of Grey's and Torrey's Peaks right from your lawnchair! Come have a picnic or have a campfire under the stars.

Utilize our bunkhouse to crash for a couple nights, to get out of the elements after camping, to give more space for the kids, or just as a mountain hangout with your friends. The bunkhouse, has one plush queen bed, and one lofted single bed, It has power, indoor and outdoor lights, and heat, however, no plumbing. An outhouse is provided right outside the door!

Use our large lot for overnight parking of your ATV toyhaulers or RVs. A 30A standard RV plug is available (note max breaker power is at 20A)

Completely updated and recently remodeled vintage Airstream. Ever wanted to know what life in an Airstream would be like? Experience it in a serene Colorado mountain setting.

An ideal getaway space. Great for anyone who wants to luxury camp in the mountains, having someone else do the set up work for your mountain life getaway experience.

We are not a 420 friendly space. If it is your intention to participate in such activities, please look elsewhere.

The space
Summer outdoor activities await. So does your cute, cozy, home away from home.

This is an Airstream Land Yacht RV. With that comes the ability to experience lots of fun and adventure, as well as some things that are different from staying in a house.

We make sure that the water is full - filled by Rocky Mountain well water - at the beginning of your stay. However, water conservation is extremely important during your stay. Water comes from storage tanks, which take time to fill from a limited well. Please use water sparingly (shorter showers are recommended).

Another thing to note is the toilet. It is a composting toilet. With that comes specific usage instructions. We have provided instructions (in 2 places) in the bathroom. We will send more information (at the time of booking) about using a composting toilet. It's not that different, but most importantly... everyone must sit down to pee. So if you're used to peeing while standing up, you'll need to sit down - every time. If you pee while standing, your pee will go into the wrong part of the toilet. Peeing into the wrong part of the toilet can damage the compost and cause odors (that won't exist otherwise). You may not enjoy those odors, and neither will we when we do the cleaning (and replacement of the compost - from scratch). So, when you book, please know that you'll be sitting down to use the toilet. Standing while peeing = not an option (and if this happens during your stay, we will charge an additional $50 cleaning fee).

The TV does not have any TV signal. We do have a DVD player and provide a solid collection of DVDs. There are also RedBox locations in town (which is a short 10 minute drive away).

We do offer WiFi access. But the reality is that you're inside a metal tube. And that can sometimes cause the internet to be spotty as the metal interacts with the signal in weird ways we can't control.

Guest access
The whole Airstream is yours to use. We have a small path that leads to our garden that starts behind the Airstream. We may occasionally use this path while you are there. We will be respectful of your stay and be quiet. We go to the garden about 2x/week, so we will hopefully go by completely unnoticed.

Other things to note
Please note we are NOT 420/marijuana-friendly. Please book elsewhere if you intend to smoke/vape 420/tobacco products indoors or outdoors. Our area is EXTREMELY dry, surrounded on 3 sides by national forest, and one carelessly tossed cigarette could cause a fire, even in winter!

Originally built as a silver miners hotel in 1800’s. It has been in the same family over 100 years. We take great pride in keeping the property historic and not renovated. Step back in time to aged cracked wallpaper in areas from the 1920’s. The floor creaks, the house is crooked, this is an experience, not modern. Most of the furniture is original antiques from the proprietors past. The bathroom is shared but easily as our guests are adventurists and leave at all different hours of the morning.

The space
Parking is convenient. Check in is easy. Stairs climb is required. Rooms are small, vintage and aging. The hype inside ranges from calm and quiet to busy flowing with energy. The SHARED bathroom is European style-toilet is separate from the bath sink. This is a building of shared spaces and full of life from children to pets and people from all walks of life.
You are welcome to join to company or hideaway in your own comfort.
It’s a building to experience. Many return to this place as it resembles something close to their hearts that they cherish.

Guest access
The property was built in 1884 as a HOTEL. There are 2 front doors, one in which is guest private entrance that is separate from the family residing on the first floor.
Smoking is permitted on the patio. Be mindful of guests who dislike smoking.
The bathroom can be very busy depending on the time of year. Examples are skiing, everyone is up together. Hiking everyone is on separate start times. Just be respectful of your time in the bathroom and consider usage during less busy parts of the day.

Other things to note
Hot breakfast has currently been suspended. There are still your homemade favorites quiches, muffins and cookies available. All pre-wrapped and ready to reheat. This ensures limited number of guests in the breakfast room at one time and still offers the goodies you love.

The Ridgeview Studio is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the outdoors and mountainous terrain of The Arapahoe National Forrest. Take advantage of the multiple hiking trailheads and private fishing lakes all within a stones throw of the studio or stay in and cuddle up for a romantic retreat. This cozy and comfortable space is the lower level of The Ridgeview Chalet (can be rented together) with it's own private entrance, porch and parking.

Other things to note
Please note that this property is located in St Mary's Glacier Colorado at an elevation of 10,000 feet. Altitude sickness can be experienced by some guests so you are encouraged to research preventative measures and check with your doctor if you have existing medical conditions that may be negatively affected by high altitudes.

Winter driving conditions exist from October through April therefore AWD or 4WD vehicles with DEDICATED SNOW TIRES is highly recommended. Most of the national car rentals do not offer snow tires so you may want to look into renting a vehicle through Turo where you can communicate with the vehicle owner to ensurer that true snow tires are on the vehicle.

Rustic Cabin (The Chipmonk) with a panoramic view of the Continental Divide in heart of Gilpin County Colorado. Very close to Golden Gate State Park, 15 minute drive to skiing at Eldora by Nederland or to Black Hawk/Central City with countless hidden (and very public) local hiking trails and National Forest in between.

Launch your next backcountry adventure from this cozy studio conveniently located on HWY 119 in historic Rollinsville. Part of our classic 1960’s mountain log cabin, this newly redecorated space offers modern amenities and the comforts of home with a queen bed, bathroom, kitchenette, WiFi, TV, private entrance, plenty of parking and easy year-round access. Ideal for a relaxing getaway, visiting family and friends, a base for hiking, biking, and skiing or as a launch pad for off-road adventures.

The space
This private studio occupies the northeast corner of the cabin and is completely self-contained with no shared spaces, a private entrance and parking. Our convenient location RIGHT ON THE HIGHWAY offers easy, year-round access and flat, paved parking for trucks and trailers. There is a small private patio with a sitting area in front of the studio that gets lots of sun and a meadow behind the house which has a tiny seasonal stream - great for a picnic or relaxing in the evening! The owner occupies the other side of the cabin but is not on the premises full time.

There is a super comfortable queen size bed, table and chairs, bathroom with shower and a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, microwave, toaster, and French press. We have stocked the basic amenities that we hope will make your stay comfortable including dishware, basic condiments, coffee, and tea. Bathroom amenities include towels, shampoo, conditioner, and a hair dryer. There is fast Wi-Fi, and a 32" Smart TV for login to your streaming channels and mobile device charging. We also have an assortment of books to read, dice and cards to play, as well as a bin of art supplies in case you are inspired to recreate the lovely mountain scenes you have witnessed on your day’s adventures.

Our fantastic location in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, located in the historic mountain town of Rollinsville, is a terrific spot from which to begin all your mountain adventures. There is amazing hiking and biking in the summer, snowshoeing and skiing in the winter, and year-round easy access to Eldora Mountain Ski Resort, Shoshoni Retreat Center, James Peak Wilderness, and more.

The full-service town of Nederland is five miles away and has grocery stores, gas stations, banks, restaurants, and bars for convenient access to anything you might need during your stay. Or if you would like a great coffee to get your day started or a handcrafted beer to end it on a great note, walk down 300 yards to Melt Coffee and Howlin’ Wind Brewery in Rollinsville, where you can sample an array of small batch handcrafted beers, enjoy live music and shop goods made by local artists.

You will have access to the entire studio (Unit #2), the sunny morning patio sitting area in front, a picnic area with table just to the north of the cabin, the meadow behind the cabin and the parking spots designated with signs.

Originally built as a silver miners hotel in 1800’s. It has been in the same family over 100 years. We take great pride in keeping the property historic and not renovated. Step back in time to aged cracked wallpaper in areas from the 1920’s. The floor creaks, the house is crooked, this is an experience, not modern. Most of the furniture is original antiques from the proprietors past. The bathroom is shared but easily as our guests are adventurists and leave at all different hours of the morning.

The space
Parking is convenient. Check in is easy. Stairs climb is required. Rooms are small, vintage and aging. The hype inside ranges from calm and quiet to busy flowing with energy. The bathroom is European style-toilet is separate from the bath sink. This is a building of shared spaces and full of life from children to pets and people from all walks of life.
You are welcome to join to company or hideaway in your own comfort.
It’s a building to experience. Many return to this place as it resembles something close to their hearts that they cherish.

Guest access
The property was built in 1884 as a HOTEL. There are 2 front doors, one in which is guest private entrance that is separate from the family residing on the first floor.
Smoking is permitted on the patio. Be mindful of guests who dislike smoking.
The bathroom can be very busy depending on the time of year. Examples are skiing, everyone is up together. Hiking everyone is on separate start times. Just be respectful of your time in the bathroom and consider usage during less busy parts of the day.

Other things to note
Hot breakfast has currently been suspended. There are still your homemade favorites quiches, muffins and cookies available. All pre-wrapped and ready to reheat. This ensures limited number of guests in the breakfast room at one time and still offers the goodies you love.
I’m working on opening a gift shop with wraps and sandwiches. Opening by ski season!

Although listed as a one bedroom home there are two sleeping areas. One with a queen size bed that is an open space and the other with a daybed with pull out trundle bed.

A sunlit breakfast nook awaits in the front of the house which opens to a cozy living room. The living room is equipped with a Smart TV, Blue-Ray/DVD Player and of course you will enjoy WI-FI throughout the house.

A washer and dryer are available for use in the fully functional kitchen. There is one spacious full bathroom.
