My husband and I love the community of St. Mary's - the history, the land, the neighbors, the views...it's breath-takingly beautiful! This is our vacation home with our 4 children, and we want to share it with you when we can't be there.

A little more about the cabin - it's a one bedroom (cozy and comfortable), one full-bath, a cool 'ladder-loft' that comfortably sleeps two (twin mattresses), a sleeper sofa in the living area, a fully equipped kitchen, a TON of extras including a Pack-N-Play for your littlest one, a fold-out toddler cot, an umbrella stroller to use when strolling through town, various size snow boots during the winter season , snow jackets in size small in women's and medium in men's, snow pants (if they fit, you're welcome to use them), super soft blankets for star viewing, and so many extras.

Step through the 'Looking Glass' and experience snow-topped trees and mountains in the winter and crisp, cool terrain and hummingbirds that whir by during the spring and summer. Spectacular views are what sets our cabin apart. We are 10,000 feet up, and our deck offers an unobstructed view of the mountains. We face the absolutely spectacular sunrises, and go to bed with cozy fires. Please be advised that you will need a 4WD vehicle during snow months (typically late October through April usually) to make it up and down the mountain.

If you'd like a little adventure while you're here, there is plenty to do right up on the mountain, down in Idaho Springs and within a short drive! For the outdoorsy, hiking is very popular (a hike to St. Mary's Glacier is a MUST), ATV tours are a five minute drive away, fishing (we provide 2 passes, poles, and a stocked tackle-box!) to fish in 2 private stocked lakes (catch and release only); horseback riding within 30 minutes, ziplining, white-water rafting, SHOPPING and DINING in quaint Idaho Springs...), but honestly, just buying groceries in town for dinners, watching some movies or your favorite show on satellite with a glass of wine or a local beer on the deck or by the fire may be just what you are seeking. We cherish memories and want this getaway to be 'that memory' for you!

Our home is located in St. Mary's Glacier, a subdivision about 10 miles northwest of Idaho Springs, and about an hour from the Denver Metro area. It sits at just under 10,000 feet so remember to drink lots of water. We have two bedrooms upstairs, one with a king size bed and the other with a queen size bed. There is a full bath upstairs as well as a small washer and dryer, a stocked linen closet, and plenty of storage for clothes. Downstairs we have an open concept living, dining, and kitchen area with a 2 person breakfast bar and all the comforts of home. Off the living room is a half bath, a selection of DVD's and books, Direct TV, Wifi, and our couch folds out to a queen size bed. A wood burning stove in the living room can heat the entire house but there are also electric baseboard heaters in every room.

We love animals and we do allow a maximum of 2 dogs for an additional fee of $75 per stay. Please make sure to indicate pets in your reservation.

We love to sit out on the deck in the morning and drink coffee while we wait for the deer to frolic by on their way to the creek that backs up to the property. During the summer, our feeders attract hummingbirds, moose are common, and at times black bears like to visit the neighborhood. 4-wheeling trails are abundant in the St. Mary's area and many can be accessed from our house. The Indian Hot Springs are just a short drive down to Idaho Springs which also has rafting, shopping, breweries, excellent BBQ, and the iconic Beau Jo's pizza. We actually tripped a breaker and easily read the information packet and quickly located the breaker out back. Using the hot tub under the stars surrounded by snow was magical and the sauna was a fun treat and easy to use! This cabin is located in an area with other homes/cabins nearby but none obstructed our view and we felt like we were in complete solitude. It was wonderful ! The cabin sleeps 4 easily, however, we noticed a pull-out sofa in the living room can accommodate two more. I can't say enough good things about this cabin and our stay. We highly recommend it!"

REMOTE CABIN STUFF
- Our cabin has satellite Starlink internet and therefore the connection can sometimes drop for a few seconds every hour or so. Not noticeable unless work from home with lots of long duration video and voice calls. Use your time at our home to disconnect from technology and embrace the beauty of the Rockies!
- The Master Bedroom has low, sloped ceilings so please watch your head when going upstairs and walking around!

SNOW
- During winter / spring months, we highly recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle to be able to easily park in our potentially snowy / icy driveway. Please plan accordingly as we do not offer refunds due to road conditions and incapable vehicles. The driveway is short at only about 50 yards from a county-maintained road that is well-plowed. Guests may have to shovel out (snow shovel provided) the driveway if there is a large snowstorm during the visit. Large snowstorms occur 1-5 times/season. It is recommended to be able-bodied during winter/early spring months.

WILDLIFE
- Please do not leave trash and food outside as this will attract wildlife! Bears, elk, big horn sheep, and deer roam the area. However, encounters are rare.
WIND
- The cabin occasionally gets high winds, especially in the winter months, sometimes reaching up to 65 miles per hour. The noise from the wind can be quite noticeable. Ensure you and your guests understand that such conditions may exist during your stay.
LANDSCAPE
- The land can be uneven, rocky, and dangerous in the Rocky Mountains. Please be mindful of proper footing around the property.

- "We enjoyed our stay and loved exploring St. Mary’s and Idaho Springs! Our host was great and super communicative. We would definitely stay again." - "The cabin looked just like the pictures. It is in great shape and looks new. We cooked most nights after hiking and then played games and enjoyed the hot tub. We did eat out a few times in Idaho Springs (MT Prime, Beau Jo's Pizza, and Smokin Yards BBQ). During the day, we hiked St. Mary's glacier, Berthoud Pass, Echo Lake to Indian Springs Reservoir, and Square Top Lakes. We also went to Fall River Reservoir (4x4 required) and drove MT Evans scenic byway (timed reservation required). We saw mountain goats and bighorn sheep. My son fished in the neighborhood lake after dinner and caught 2 fish (worms worked but not power bait). Had a fun filled week! The cabin was a perfect place to hang out in the evening. The host Jenna was very responsive to any questions we had the first few days."
