We invite you to enjoy the inspiring space of our modest, two bedroom mountain cabin nestled in the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is a short scenic drive west of Boulder, Colorado and only two miles from the quaint and colorful mountain town of Nederland, CO. Built in the early 1900's, our house was the baggage depot which serviced the historic, Switzerland Trail Railroad. The cabin sits at approximately 8600 ft is south facing, adorned with a lot of glass, great natural light and is passive solar. It is located off a county dirt road, providing easy winter access, situated in a lovely riparian valley, surrounded by Boulder County Open Space and the Roosevelt National Forest.

We remolded this historic cabin in the late 1990's, but not without first falling in love with the wonderful character and imperfections of this turn of the century structure. We purposely kept what we could, like the original hardwood floor, and took great care to salvage and recycle as much of the original, weathered materials, and then integrated them back into our home. Though 100 years old, our cabin offers the comfort of all the modern amenities, while preserving it's rustic charm in a uniquely, eclectic style. Reclaimed, hand hewn timbers accent the the cabin exterior, the master bedroom, and the one of a kind, rustic, hand poured bathroom. Hammered metal details and homemade doors add a wonderful, hand made touch throughout. Furnishings and decorations artistically blend textures from around the globe, as well as from local artisans, all of which enhance the uniqueness of your stay.

Our cabin is the ideal location for a romantic getaway, as well as a wonderful place to escape the summer heat or the hustle and bustle of the city. Relax and rejuvenate in the magic of our home and the clean Rocky Mountain air. Sit on your front porch while drinking your morning coffee. Soak in the sunshine viewing the native mountain wildflowers and listen to the melodic flowing stream along with the chirping chorus of the ubiquitous hummingbird and the song of the native mountain birds.

For the history buff, the valley in which our cabin sits, is steeped in mining history Our cabin specifically, is the gateway house before entering the New Cardinal historic mill site, which in its heyday, was one of the largest gold mines in the area. Across the road is a cute, well maintained cabin, that was the New Cardinal brothel, in the early 1900's. The remnants of the Switzerland Trail Railroad is only steps from your door, This, historic railroad grade offers a network of hiking, mountain biking and in the winter, cross country skiing trails right out your door. The extensive Nederland mountain biking trail systems are also accessed from your doorstep. Be at the Eldora Ski Resort, which offers downhill skiing, snowboarding and nordic skiing in only 10 minutes.

For the outdoor enthusiast, not only is there hiking, mountain bike riding and cross country skiing out your door, but just a few miles away in Boulder Canyon there is rock climbing, swimming, kayaking and fly fishing. The high alpine peaks of the Indian Peak Wilderness Area are easily accessed and only a short distance away. If you prefer a scenic mountain drive, or a spectacular road bike ride, the Peak to Peak Highway is two miles from our cabin, taking you to Rocky Mountain National Park to the north, or to the casinos of Black Hawk, and Central City to the south. The progressive town of Boulder itself is 17 miles down the canyon road, and offers a large variety of shopping, restaurants and the famous Pearl Street Mall.

We invite you to the historic & modest Happy Valley Lodge to experience a rustic/luxury stay in our newly renovated 100 yr old log cabin. We are located in the quaint, historic mining community of Eldora, which sits a few miles below the Continental Divide in the Rocky Mountains. The cabin is nestled in the trees on a private, acre lot and borders Boulder Creek. We're 3 miles from the quirky town of Nederland and are only minutes from The Eldora Mountain Resort, our local ski hill.

The town of Eldora is a small, alpine community sitting at an elevation of 8,700 ft and is the southern gateway into the Indian Peaks Wilderness Area. Our cabin is the perfect place to base out of for many adventures, from back country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking & camping. Down hill ski, snowboard or ski the Nordic Track at the Eldora Mountain Resort, minutes from the cabin. In other seasons fly fish in Boulder Creek, just on the edge of the property, or stroll out your door & take in our scenic neighborhood. The popular Magnolia mountain bike trails are only a few miles from the cabin & the top of Boulder Canyon is a 10-15 minute drive and host to an extensive array of rock climbs and more fishing if desired.

The Happy Valley Lodge is also a great place to just relax, escape the summer heat and take in the beauty & wildness of your surroundings. National Forest surrounds Eldora's small community on all sides & it's not unusual to have moose, deer & foxes walking through the yard.

Explore the small, earthy town of Nederland and it's unique shops & eateries a few miles away. Boulder is an intersting 35 minute drive down scenic, Boulder Canyon with its towering rock walls. Rocky Mountain National Park is about an hour drive and the historic mining towns of Blackhawk & Central City are about 30 minutes away if you want to try your luck at gambling.

Nederland is 8236 feet above sea level and 6 miles east of the Great Continental Divide. Downtown Ned is quaint and cozy. A wonderful Colorado mountain town with unique shops, multiple restaurants, supermarket, Co-Op market, coffee/pastry shops, three breweries, an indoor carousel, skate park, mining museum and lots more packed into this small town!

- Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is a 15 minute drive west. 76,000 acres of untamed wilderness. Access the Colorado back country up to and over the Continental Divide. No motor vehicles or bikes allowed, a true Rocky mountain experience! Winter access not for the faint of heart:) but rewarding to say the least.
- Mud Lake/Caribou Ranch Open Space trail systems are within walking distance. A wonderful system of loops and some of the most level trails you'll find in the Rockies. Enjoy hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Ice skating is allowed on Mud Lake. Wildlife is abundant, moose, elk, deer, and fox are all common sights to the attentive hiker. Get lucky and spy a bobcat, lynx, bear or mountain lion!
- 30 minute drive South to the casino towns of Central City and Blackhawk
- RTD bus Park and Ride is 1/4 mile away. Access to Boulder, Denver and Eldora Mountain Resort!
It's a downhill, under 10 minute walk from the apt to town. You need not walk along the highway, there is a shortcut path by the SE corner of the Community Center parking lot. Plan a little longer time walking UPHILL from town or the RTD(bus lot) to the apt.
- The driveway is steep and during winter 4WD or AWD and snow tires are A MUST to make it up. That being said, it is south facing and snow/ice melts off quickly on sunny days. There is public parking across the highway at the Community Center and you can walk up and/or I can help shuttle your luggage up.
- We do our best to maintain the driveway and walkway free of snow and ice but it will be slippery at times. By making a reservation you accept risk of any/all personal injury or vehicle damage due to weather conditions.
- Take note; Winter can be windy. It's not unusual for sustained 50mph wind for an entire day. Snowstorms can be heavy. It's not unusual to get multiple feet in a day. Winter also has many calm, beautiful blue sky days, especially following a storm. Be prepared for any and all weather conditions!
- Altitude sickness affects some people. Drink LOTS of water! Take it easier than normal with physical activity and alcohol consumption. Canned oxygen is available in town at the B&F Market and other stores, it can really help ease symptoms!
- Dress warm, in layers during winter. Be prepared!

There is a Queen CouchBed in the living room for extra guests, fast WiFi, and a 42" Smart TV for login to your streaming channels. And, if you need a workspace, there is a desk with a charging strip. The kitchen is stocked with the amenities that we hope will make your stay comfortable including basic cooking essentials (spices, sugar, oil, etc.), condiments, coffee, and tea. Walk, bike, hike right outside our door! Downtown Nederland is just steps away. Shopping, Dining, hiking & biking trails, dispensaries, saloons, grocery stores, etc. all within short walking distance of the Cabin. The RTD bus depot is right around the corner, a very nice & convenient alternative to needing a rental vehicle.

While our cabin is located right in town, we are also tucked into a dead-end street, surrounded by quiet neighbors who are full time residents- its quiet!
We are also right next to the Historical Wolf Tongue Mine (no longer in operation) Witness some local history of our sweet little town, right outside our back door! We provide some cool books in our in-home book collection that share tons of nuggets of local history facts about the mine, Nederland, and more!

In the summer months, wildflowers abound. Those who are lucky, may see moose, bear, bobcat, and fox from the windows. The Hessie trail starts 1 mile up a dirt road from the house. The house is in a central location for a variety of front range climbing areas including Boulder Canyon which is ~10 minutes drive away.

In the winter, Eldora Mountain Resort nordic and Alpine ski centers are 5 miles up the road. When there is snow pack, you can back country ski, snow shoe, or play in the snow right out the front door. Oct-Dec guests: Please expect radical, unpredictable weather including freezing blowing wind, snow, ice, sun, and 50 degree temperature swings, that you can enjoy from the comfort of a warm home.

In mountain settings, yellow well water, particularly in spring, is often due to iron oxidation or tannin leaching from soil and vegetation. These minerals are more readily dissolved and transported into the well water during periods of increased rainfall and runoff, which is common in the spring. We have a reverse osmosis system for purified drinking water and test water regularly.

During winter 4WD or AWD is recommended. We do our best to maintain the driveway and walkway free of snow and ice but it will be slippery at times. By making a reservation you accept risk of any/all personal injury or vehicle damage due to weather conditions.

Other things to note
We have extremely fragile mountain pluming!!! Please Please nothing down the toilet other than the RV toilet paper provided. Additional RV toilet paper can be purchased at Ace Hardware in town. If the plumbing gets clogged, the guest will be responsible for all expenses accrued to fix. To use the toilet, fill the toilet basin with water with a half pull on the leaver before use. A full pull flushes and empties the basin. Continue to let the water run a while to push the waste through the plumbing.

Trap all food going down kitchen sink and dispose of in trashcan. No harsh chemicals like bleach, toilet bowl cleaner or Drain-o down the plumbing system. This is a septic system and it functions on bacteria being present to break things down.

Please keep in mind at 9000ft above sea level some of our creature comforts are limited. It makes for a great opportunity to unplug! The internet service in Nederland can go down during big storms for bits of time. We have power outages often in Nederland but they generally are remedied quickly. These things are out of our control. The Tiny will continue to have heat as there is both an electric source and a gas source for heat and there are multiple flashlights available. The shower in the Tiny is not meant for long showers. We have duel small hot water heaters to provide hot water so guest should be able to take a warm but short shower. Please note the Tiny House is not suited for individuals with limited mobility or balance challenges. The loft bed is accessed by a ladder and can be challenging to navigate.

The Ned Nest offers everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Our rental in Nederland is a basement unit with a private walkout entrance in the front yard. While the rental is completely private and self-contained, it is worth noting that we do live upstairs. However, we respect your privacy and strive to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Feel free to park on the right side of the driveway. Please do not block in our vehicles. However, please be aware that our driveway is sloped and during heavy snowfall, it can be difficult to drive up without 4-wheel drive. If heavy snow is forecasted, we recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle or parking horizontally along the bottom of our driveway for the most convenient access to the property. Rest assured; the driveway is only about 20’ long.

Old Town Nederland was built in the late 1800's during the Gold Rush. A walk in the neighborhood is a stroll back in time. Old miner's cabins tucked under the pine and aspen trees line the streets. Moose, elk and deer roam the backyards. The Wolf Tongue Mill sits silent while Middle Boulder Creek snakes east from the Continental Divide through town and on to Boulder. Chipeta Park is a perfect spot for relaxing along the river, throwing the disk, or taking a stroll.

I love hosting guests from all around the world! Born and raised on a family farm in Iowa, my adventures led me first to Texas and then on to the mountains. My family loves Colorado. Summers are filled with water sports, biking and gardening and in winter we ski and snowboard. I enjoy anthropology and study mushrooms and medicinal plants. In my free time I travel, dance, and practice yoga. I enjoy sharing our unique mountain culture with visitors from around the world.

Escape to the mountains! Are you looking to hike, ski, snowshoe or just get away and enjoy the quiet? This historic, rustic property is perfectly situated in a neighborhood of quaint cabins in the 1897 mining town of Eldora, 10 minutes to Eldora Ski Area, 10 minutes from the quiet, quirky little mountain town of Nederland, and 30 minutes from Boulder. Rocky Mountain National Park is just an hour away!

Located on a fairly quiet dirt road which is accessible with 2WD cars in the summer and 4WD OR AWD in the winter only. The cabin is approximately 30 feet away from the owner's studio.

Sleeps 4, in a queen-sized bed in master bedroom, a full-sized bed in main floor bedroom, and twin sized sofa bed in the living room. Bed linens provided.

Living room has a loveseat, leather easy chair, ottoman, sofa that converts to a single bed, 50 inch TV with DVD player (selection of DVD's) and ROKU, stereo system with Bluetooth and a record player. Good WIFI. Electric heat in all rooms, and propane heat in the living room.

There is hot and cold running water in the bathroom, sink, flush toilet and a clawfoot BATHTUB WITH A STEP UP THAT CAN ONLY BE USED FORSHOWERS, as there is only a 20 gallon water heater. Towels, soap and shampoo provided. WE ARE ON A DELICATE WELL AND SEPTIC SYSTEM SO WE ASK THAT YOU BE MINDFUL AND CONSERVATIVE PLEASE.

The kitchen is fully equipped to cook and bake, with a propane gas stove/oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, blender, crockpot and cooking implements. Our well water is drinkable. Complete with Fiestaware dishes, flatware, glasses, coffee, tea, oil, and some condiments.

The yard has a picnic table and lawn chairs, shade umbrellas, gas barbeque and a gas firepit for those cool evenings roasting marshmallows! Smoking cigarettes or 420 is allowed outside, safely only.

Enjoy the soothing sounds of the North Beaver Creek, which runs right through our property. Our home spans the creek like a bridge. The fully fenced backyard has a patio, gas grill, charming historic barn and mature spruce trees for privacy.
The home features two bedrooms with queen sized beds, one bath with an open concept living room, dining and kitchen area. The kitchen includes a 5 burner gas range, microwave, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, and all the cooking implements you'll need to make yourself at home. Listen to the sounds of the creek as you take a bath or shower in the claw foot tub.

This rustic cottage does not have AC. We do provide fans for the guests for the hotter summer months and recommend opening windows. Our cottage is located at 8,300' elevation so it's generally about 15-20 degrees cooler than Boulder in the summer. There is an electric wall heater in each of the Bedrooms and a gas stove in the main living space.

We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly rental. If you're coming with children please let us know so we can provide you with a pack-n-play, high chair, hiking backpack, toys, books & more. The playground, children's fishing pond and carousel are within walking distance!

Please note there is no TV in the cottage. Enjoy all the activities the beautiful Colorado Rockies have to offer, or stream on your devices with our high-speed internet.

If you're lucky, you may catch a sighting of one of our neighborhood foxes or even a moose!

You will be renting the entire cottage and will access to the backyard area. The historic barn is not available for guest use.

We have two security cameras on the outside of the house. The cameras point at the driveway and front door of the home as well as the rear door into the home. We only use the cameras for security purposes.

Dragonfly Ranch is conveniently close to town, we are located 10 miles from Nederland. This small Colorado mountain town exudes the essence of wonder with a flair. We host many top-notch tasty cuisines, bookstores, and other unique shops including a food co-op, and gems. Nederland has an active culture of outdoor adventure and sports, live music, breweries, coffee shops, and eclectic living. Alpine or Nordic ski during the winter months at the local mountain, Eldora Ski Resort, only 10 minutes away – snowshoe trails also abound; hike, bike, backpack, fish, trail ride or run in the warmer months throughout the many trails of the Roosevelt National Forest that are just outside our doorstep.

The city of Boulder is only a 20-minute scenic drive, or you can take the bus from wherever you are coming. When you're done enjoying the outdoors and surrounding nature, come home to gaze at the stars or take a midnight stroll with absolutely no light pollution.

The Gypsy is a "Tiny House" with a Queen memory foam mattress in the loft (extremely comfy) and a couch on the bottom level with fold-out floor mattress. The Gypsy is a unique "glamping" experience with hot but short showers. Quirky, cozy, and close to so many outdoor adventures! It is a good fit for couples or solo adventurers. Located less than 2 blocks from the heart of Nederland offering restaurants, bars, communal office space/internet, library, bank, beautiful Barker Reservoir and loads of mountain character. Nederland is a funky town just 18 miles from Boulder, 45 minutes from Denver. Sitting at 8600ft above sea level, it is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park offering pristine hiking trails, lakes, white water rafting, kayaking, fishing, climbing, backcountry skiing, and more. Eldora Ski Resort is a quick 10 min. drive or bus ride away! The Gypsy Tiny House is a private cabin on our home property and shares a common outdoor courtyard, gas fire pit, and grill with the Hobbit House rental just adjacent. Includes all utilities and wifi. No pets.

Please note the Tiny House is not suited for individuals with limited mobility or balance challenges. The loft bed is accessed by a ladder and can be challenging to navigate.

Guests have access to the entire Tiny House. The fire pit area out front and patio area are a shared space with the Hobbit House Rental just adjacent. You have your own parking space.

Other things to note
We have extremely fragile mountain pluming!!! Please Please nothing down the toilet other than the RV toilet paper provided. Additional RV toilet paper can be purchased at Ace Hardware in town. If the plumbing gets clogged, the guest will be responsible for all expenses accrued to fix. To use the toilet, fill the toilet basin with water with a half pull on the leaver before use. A full pull flushes and empties the basin. Continue to let the water run a while to push the waste through the plumbing.

Trap all food going down kitchen sink and dispose of in trashcan. No harsh chemicals like bleach, toilet bowl cleaner or Drain-o down the plumbing system. This is a septic system and it functions on bacteria being present to break things down.

Please keep in mind at 9000ft above sea level some of our creature comforts are limited. It makes for a great opportunity to unplug! The internet service in Nederland can go down during big storms for bits of time. We have power outages often in Nederland but they generally are remedied quickly. These things are out of our control. The Tiny will continue to have heat as there is both an electric source and a gas source for heat and there are multiple flashlights available. The shower in the Tiny is not meant for long showers. We have duel small hot water heaters to provide hot water so guest should be able to take a warm but short shower.

Please note the Tiny House is not suited for individuals with limited mobility or balance challenges. The loft bed is accessed by a ladder and can be challenging to navigate.

We live on the property and we are an active family so you may see us in the garden, or outside playing basketball. We have a dog Mac and a cat Milo. The neighbors are also active you may hear them cutting wood in preparation for winter or enjoying outside dinner with guests.

Adorable mountain log home built in 1920 and updated with modern conveniences! Nederland is a peaceful and quirky town 8200' above sea level, with lovely shops, a grocer, and restaurants. Our home is a cozy space if you are looking to spend time hiking, skiing, biking, or trail running or if you are just simply looking for space to retreat from the city.

The space
We are so excited you are interested in our cozy cabin! The house is available for rent for 30+ days at a time and has everything you need to have a great extended stay in the mountains. We have a large pantry, fridge, and freezer in the kitchen, along with lots of small kitchen appliances (rice cooker, vita-mix blender, immersion blender, you name it!). Almost all of the house's major appliances have been updated, including the oven (2024), dishwasher (2022), smart TV (2022), washing machine (2022) and clothes dryer (2018).

The home is heated through an adjustable natural gas fireplace which stays on 24/7 during cooler months and keeps the home toasty. The downstairs bathroom has a large shower head and a deep bathtub for soaking after a long day, and the water gets hot! The home does not have air conditioning, as is common at our elevation in Colorado.

Our home has wifi (20 Mbps), and the password will be shared at check-in and is also on the modem inside the house. There is also a co-working space walking distance from our house called HubNed.

Our home is a 7-minute drive from Eldora Ski Resort which is currently on the Ikon Pass, and our favorite place to ski or snowboard. They also have great trails (and separate tickets) for cross-country or uphill skiing. Additionally, we are a 10-minute drive from Hessie Trailhead in the summer and 15 minutes from the Fourth of July trailhead when the road is opened during the summer months (generally end of May through early October). We are about 45 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, 30 minutes from Brainard Lake Recreation Area, a little more than an hour from Denver International Airport, and 1.5 hours from Winter Park!

Our home is in the mountains and close to national forest land, there is a lot of local wildlife which is an amazing part of living in Nederland (we frequently have a moose and fox that play in the yard!), but we ask that you do not leave doors open or trash outside to make sure that the wildlife stays outside and cannot sneak in.

Due to the extremely small nature of our town, there are a few unique aspects. Within town, you are not able to receive mail directly to the home, but there is a post office. The town does not have at-home trash pick-up services, so it is the guests' responsibility to take recycling, trash, and compost to the local transfer station (about < a 5-minute drive from the house).

There is a lot of active wildlife in the vicinity and we need to all do our part to keep them, our pets, and ourselves safe. Moose, elk, coyotes, deer, bears, mountain lions, bobcats and foxes frequent the area.

Please remove all food and strong scented items from your vehicle and lock at night. Give the wildlife space and admire from afar 🦌🦊🦉🐺 🐻

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located cabin relocated to Nederland in the 1930’s. Three miners’ cabins were moved from the little Town of Eldora to Nederland in the 1930’s. For years it has been rented as three apartment. Now one apartment has been renovated for a 30 day minimum , 90 day maximum stay on Airbnb. Although the exterior is still original, the interior has been weatherized. The kitchen has new appliances and the beds are cozy and comfortable

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. In the 1930’s, three miners’ cabins were moved from the little Town of Eldora to Nederland and constructed and weatherized into one cabin. For many years it has been rented as three apartments. Now two of the apartments have been consolidated into one. One separate apartment still exists occupied by an artist. Although the exterior still has its original exterior, inside it has been completely remodeled.

This listing is for 30 night minimum and 90 night maximum stays. It is located in the central business district but on an off street. Most of the businesses are on the next street over. The cabin is comfortably behind a Thai restaurant ( great food.) There is an American restaurant/ coffee shop less than a block away in a relatively new building and a ski/ bike shop within that compound. The is a fried chicken restaurant, a smokehouse, a saloon w good food and a wood fired pizza restaurant on 1st St., which is on the block behind the cabin. We have a natural food coop on this same street and a large independently grocery store in the shopping center which is very walkable from the cabin. You’ll find reusable shopping bags under the sink in the kitchen to take to buy groceries. Otherwise you have to pay 10 cents per plastic bag.

There is a parking lot outside the sun room and cars do use the driveway around the back of the listing. Rest assured though that by 9:00 pm Nederland shuts down. There are plenty of games, books and art supplies to keep you distracted

Yes, we are dog friendly! We do not accept other pets (e.g., cats, birds, etc.). We will have dog bowls and a dog bed available in the space. We kindly ask that you:

- Clean up after your pup. You can toss all poop baggies out in the patio trash can.
- Wipe any dirty/muddy dog paws with the towel by the door.
- Keep your pup off the furniture. If this is impossible, please make sure your pup is laying on a throw blanket while they lounge with you on the couch on in bed.
- Don't leave your dog unattended in the guest suite for more than 3 hours.

When it comes to location, it doesn't get much better than this. The suite is just a short stroll away from the vibrant downtown area, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture, indulge in delectable cuisine, explore all the local breweries, and browse unique shops. Enjoy the soothing sounds of the North Beaver Creek, which runs right through our property. Our home spans the creek like a bridge. The fully fenced backyard has a patio, gas grill, charming historic barn and mature spruce trees for privacy.

The rustic home features two (2) bedrooms, one (1) bath with an open concept living room, dining and kitchen area. Each bedroom has a queen size bed. The kitchen includes a 5 burner gas range, microwave, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, and all the cooking implements you'll need to make yourself at home. Listen to the sounds of the creek as you take a bath or shower in the claw foot tub.

We pride ourselves on being a family-friendly rental. If you're coming with children please let us know so we can provide you with a pack-n-play, high chair, hiking backpack, toys, books & more. The playground, children's fishing pond and carousel are within walking distance!

Please note there is no TV in the cottage. Enjoy all the activities the beautiful Colorado Rockies have to offer, or stream on your devices with our high-speed internet. Please note that our wifi sometimes goes out temporarily and the outages are generally related to weather (high winds or snow).

This rustic cottage does not have AC. We do provide fans for the guests for the hotter summer months and recommend opening windows. Our cottage is located at 8,300' elevation so it's generally about 15-20 degrees cooler than Boulder in the summer. There is an electric wall heater in each of the Bedrooms and a gas stove in the main living space.

If you're lucky, you may catch a sighting of one of our neighborhood foxes or even a moose!

Our cottage rental is limited to 4 unrelated adults.

We have a desk and work chair in the back bedroom. If you need a Pack n Play please let us know and we can remove the work area set up.

Charming, quiet cabin getaway in the mountains! Come drink coffee in the shade of our beautiful aspen grove, and revel in the beauty of our stunning mountain view. Close enough to Nederland to run out for dinner, but a world away from cares or worries.

Because of rental regulations in our area, we are unable to rent this space for fewer than 30 days. We hope we can host you for a relaxing month (or longer!) in our beloved mountains.

The space
Guests will have full use of all of our cabin's amenities, from our warm, cozy wood stove to our expansive deck with wonderful views. Hurricane Hill is rife with wildlife, so expect to see moose, elk, deer and foxes (depending on the season)! Located a brief drive from Eldora Ski Resort, the town of Nederland, Brainard Lake, and countless other hiking/snowshoeing trails, our little mountain retreat is prefect for any kind of mountain adventure.

Our little cabin is easily accessible by car-all but the very last portion of the approaching road is paved, and the dirt section is very well maintained. It is located in a small mountain community, so while it’s shouting distance from neighbors on two sides, guests still get to experience the quiet solitude of a mountain retreat.

We're happy to host your pets along with you. Please note, if you're planning to bring pets, make sure to specify that in your guest count while booking (i.e., 2 adults, pets). AirBnB will then fold in a $50 pet fee to the nightly rate for your fur babies, regardless of number of pets.

We recently installed Starlink internet, and it has proven to be very reliable for remote work demands such as VPN access and video conferencing. We cannot guarantee that it is up to the task of online gaming, but other than that, it is dependable and high speed.

Please note that we provide approximately two weeks' worth of trash bags, paper towels, and toilet paper for all our guests, regardless of length of stay, so you may need to supplement what we provide.

We recommend guests use the hot tub after 8pm to maximize your privacy, comfort and stargazing experience. Cell phone reception: It's a little spotty when traveling around at our altitude. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are reliable cellular networks while in town, but can be intermittent outside of town. You can get wifi access at Kathmandu Restaurant, Nederland Community Library, and many other service locations in town if needed before check-in. The Studio wifi info can be found in the Guest Manual upon confirmation of your reservation.

If you are traveling with children, please contact us with your capacity needs before making your reservation. Our capacity is set for 2 adults, but we are happy to make exceptions for parents and caretakers with an infant or young child. We have a pack-n-play and toys to use for your convenience, as well.

Please send us a message if you would like to use it during your stay, and we will fire it up for you (It usually takes 30 minutes to an hour to reach temperature)!

The whole group will enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located home. You can walk anywhere. There are groceries. Retail stores (all locally owned), and incredible restaurants. We are ten minutes away from local ski area, Eldora Mountain Ski Resort Trails for snowshoeing /cross-country. Dog friendly although back yard is not fenced. Spacious house. Originally built for commercial use, it was renovated for residential in the 1980’s Original garage is now e bedroom.

The space
Some renovations were made at The Pink House in April. Kitchen counters have been retiled. There is now heavy duty carpet in the entrance where the washer and dryer are located. The Pink House is in a 65 year old building, originally built with cinder blocks. It has been remodeled to have drywall on most walls. It is like a cavern with many rooms ( 4 are bedrooms/ 2 w 2 beds) and the original concrete construction keeps it cool in the summer. In the winter months, central heat keeps the bathroom, kitchen, office and dining rooms as warm as you like. There is baseboard heat in all the other rooms further back.

What used to be the garage is now a large bedroom w a twin bed and one queen. Big fully stocked kitchen. Large bathroom w a tub/ shower.We always get a 5-star rating for cleanliness. Driveway big enough for 2 cars. Please back-in park. There are lots of cyclists that use the street. This will keep everyone safe. Big backyard w a creek but no fence. Large grill and outdoor table/umbrella w 6 chairs are set up at beginning of summer. Please collapse the umbrella when you leave the patio area for the day. You will be charged $100 if something happens to the umbrella. Last summer we went through four umbrellas. This is why I have had to make this policy. There is a brand new croquet setsitting next to the dryer. If it’s not there it means I finally had time to assemble it and it will be right outside the back door. We are on the waitlist for a local landscape company to level that yard due to many vole holes. Once it is levelled, we plan to build a large flagstone patio.

Other things to note
The property is zoned in the Central Business District. Unless you are going on day trips, there is no need to get in your car. Nederland is very walkable. During the day there will be traffic noises, but the Town pretty much shuts down after 9-10 pm..

This is a large older house. The single beds are high off the ground. This may not be ideal for small children. So we have a full crib and a PAC and Play we can bring into the house if they are needed. Also, all the dressers and wardrobes are for your use. They are bolted into the walls. So don’t be concerned they will fall on your child. However, please do not allow your child to climb on them for their own safety.

Also, please back in when parking on the side of the house. There is a coffee shop one block East of the house that attracts many bicyclists. as well as great small batch coffee. It’s called Salto’s. There’s also a small specialty sports shop in one corner of that property. They sell and repair bicycles in the summer and sell and tune skis in the winter. We have a nice large park behind the Grocery Store and off Boulder Middle Creek Trail called Chipeta Park. It was named after the wife of the famous Ute Chief, Niwot. We have had Pow Wows there in the past.

Our cozy 1 bedroom Airbnb rental offers everything you need for a comfortable and luxurious stay. Our rental in Nederland is a basement unit with a private walkout entrance in the front yard. While the rental is completely private and self-contained, it is worth noting that we do live upstairs. However, we respect your privacy and strive to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Feel free to park on the right side of the driveway. Please do not block in any of our vehicles. However, please be aware that our driveway is sloped and during heavy snowfall, it can be difficult to drive up without 4-wheel drive. If heavy snow is forecasted, we recommend having a 4-wheel drive vehicle or parking horizontally along the bottom of our driveway for the most convenient access to the property. Rest assured; the driveway is only about 20’ long.

- Altitude sickness affects some people. Drink LOTS of water! Take it easier than normal with physical activity and alcohol consumption. Canned oxygen is available in town at the B&F Grocery Market, it's a HUGE help to many.

The space
The cabin has one bedroom with a queen sized bed and a lounging loft also with a queen sized bed for your relaxation. There is one bathroom with a sink, toilet, shower and also a washer and dryer. The kitchen and living area are the main part of the cabin and they are heated by a gas fireplace with temperature controls.

During the summer, the outdoor patio is a great place to relax in the sunshine. There is a propane fire pit with a love seat as well as a table and chairs.

Guests are welcome to store gear in a locked shed out back. A combination to a lock can be shared after booking.

Other things to note
The cabin is heated by a gas fireplace so parents of young children should be advised in advance. It is also not recommended that young children sleep in the loft area.

Mountain getaway close to Boulder (even on a bus line), closer to Eldora skiing and Rocky Mtn hiking. We are one mile from downtown Nederland and you can access the Mud Lake hiking trails from our neighborhood. Nederland is a great little town with good food and shopping-it used to be the site of a major recording studio. We are right across from Barker reservoir- the views are amazing!

The space
Enjoy peaceful quiet and spectacular views 100 feet above Nederland and the Barker reservoir (which are already at 8228ft). You will need an AWD/4WD to make it up here if it snows.
We have a dedicated work space, with a double bed, a master bedroom with a queen bed , and a queen size air mattress sofa sleeper for sleeping. You have a private entry and the entire first floor to yourself. Hosts may stay in the apartment below you.
We have a hot tub on the lower level, and we also have a level 2 EV vehicle charger. (Please verify that your plug works with ours- there is a picture in our listing).
