It's a short walk across railroad tracks to the Winter Park base area and that worked fine for us. The kitchen especially has all you would ever need. There is excellent parking. There is a train nearby, but we scarcely noticed it. We went there for skiing & found the easiest way to the Winter Park slopes was to walk 8 to 10 minutes to the base area. The host is very responsive. Plus, we really enjoyed skiing at Winter Park. This comfortable and relaxing studio is located on the 1st floor having the best and most convenient access to the indoor / outdoor pool, Jacuzzi’s, Spa, locker rooms and gym. The restaurant and wine bar are just down the stairs on the level down from us. Access to the ski Corridor run is just up the elevator and across. Ski out directly to the Zephyr lift at the Winter park base area; ski in from the base of Mary Jane. A secured storage room for skis and boots is located inside the 5th floor door so you won't need to take them back to the room every time you ski.
You won’t have any morning or late afternoon ski boot traffic in this quiet location just up the elevator from the parking garage.

We have a queen-sized Murphy bed with tempurpedic mattress and a sofa-sleeper for two additional people. The decor is warm, comfortable, always Extremely clean, including a clean, thermostatically-controlled gas fireplace. The kitchen is fully-equipped, with cookware, utensils, knives, dishes and glassware, a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, a glass-topped range/oven, and dishwasher. The 65” HD TV receives Comcast cable with premium channels and has an easy-to-use DVD player connected.

The unit also features a full bath with a shower tub. IRON HORSE RESORT:

Location and Skiing Access: The Iron Horse Resort's ski bridge to the Corridor Run is located outside the 5th floor, half way between the base of Mary Jane ski area and the base of Winter Park. Skiers ski out, down the Corridor Run to the main Zephyr lift at the base of Winter Park and ski in from the base of Mary Jane. In the Spring, Summer, and early Fall the Corridor is usually a dry walking path, with easy access to the Winter Park base area.

THE SKI AREA:

Colorado is famous for its its amazing array of skiing options. Winter Park offers three main peaks, with a total skiable area of 3,060 acres for downhill skiing, snowboarding, and even some runs available for ski-biking at night! There are 143 trails available to skiers of all ability levels. Winter Park usually gets much more snow than most other ski areas in the state.

The Mary Jane ski area - which is connected to the Winter Park area - has some of the best mogul skiing in North America, and terrain that is perfect for intermediate to advanced skiers.

Winter Park is a town that has very comfortable, relaxed, authentic feel. A wide variety of restaurants are available, ranging from the basics, like McDonalds and Subway, to mid-scale bistros and brewpubs, to fine dining. Great barbecue, handcrafted pizzas, gourmet hot dogs, steaks, seafood, and Asian foods can all be found in downtown Winter Park. La Collina Restaurant - open at Iron Horse during the Winter ski season - consistently receives very positive reviews from its guests.

This townhouse is the perfect mountain home for our family because it has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms so everyone has their own space. It also has 2-car heated attached garage which is amazing on snowy days to unload all your gear. We also love the location in both the summer and the winter. WIFI & Cable. It's an easy bus ride to the slopes and will drop you off right at the base of the mountain - or drive and park at the free lots. Then, for apre-ski, you're right in town to go out to dinner, bowling, shopping...In the summer, hideaway park is a hub for concerts, outdoor yoga classes and our kids love the playground. It so nice to have these options just steps away.

As frequent 'VRBOers' ourselves, we always struggled to balance our 'kid gear' with our outdoor gear. Therefore, this condo has many of the necessary items us parents need, including: highchairs (2), changing pad, video baby monitor, pack n' plays (2), just to name a few. The Grand Park Community Rec Center can be accessed with the Lift shuttle and boasts a water slide, lazy river, and gymnastics room.

There are 2 nearby grocery stores: The new Fireside Market and Eatery in Winter Park, and Safeway in the neighboring town of Fraser. Both can be accessed by the Lift shuttle service.

The swimming pool and gym are just 4.1 miles away at the Grand Park Rec Center with multiple swimming pools, a waterslide, full gym with indoor track, huge rock climbing wall, gymnasium, and children's playground. The Foundry is next door to the Rec Center with a bowling alley, movie theater and brick oven pizza bar. Safeway grocery store is 5.6 miles away at Fraser the town of Fraser.

- Winter Park Wildlife: Be aware of local information regarding local wildlife in the Winter Park region and follow all protocols regarding public safety. Local wildlife includes but is not limited to bears, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain lions, and wolves. Elevation Destinations by Portoro reminds guests to be aware of their surroundings and to not attempt to interact with local wildlife. Issues, injuries, or damages from violating the local safety guidelines are the responsibility of the guest.
- Parking Garage: You will need to make a parking reservation prior to your check-in date regardless of the rental season. Full details will be provided in your check-in details with additional courtesy reminders prior to your arrival date. The Town of Winter Park sets a Winter and Summer season which are subject to change at the discretion of Winter Park. The Winter Season offers per night paid garage parking and the Summer Season offers free garage parking, however a nightly $99.00 fee will apply if you do not complete your reservation prior to your check-in date. In addition, a Coupon Code will be included in your check-in information that will discount the $99.00 nightly fee to $23.00/night in the Winter and $0.00 in the Summer. - Do not leave trash or recycles in the common areas or hallways of the building. There are clearly marked Trash Rooms in the building on each floor by the elevator. Any violations will incur a $100.00 fine for each occurrence will be the responsibility of the guest.

Welcome to Winter Haus! This unique unit combines all the best that Winter Park has to offer. Nestled steps away from the center of town, biking and hiking trails, shopping, restaurants, and bars. This cozy apartment is perfect for a family of 6 or a group of friends. 2nd floor (one flight of stairs), corner unit includes 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds plus a twin bunk bed, 1 full bathroom, living room with a queen pullout leather sofa with memory foam mattress and a fully equipped kitchen.

The space
Main bedroom features a queen size bed, private in room sink, TV with Roku, ceiling fan and gorgeous views of the Fraser River.

2nd Bedroom features a European style bunk bed with a queen size mattress on the bottom and twin size mattress on top, private in room sink and a washer and dryer.

The living room has a brand new leather couch with a pull out queen size bed with a memory foam mattress.

Enjoy our coffee bar with 3 different types of coffee machines to satisfy everyone’s taste.

Have breakfast, lunch, dinner or drinks on our outside patio listening to nature and the sounds of the Fraser river running right in our backyard.

Take care of your sore muscles after a day on the mountain skiing, biking or hiking with our “recovery basket” with different types of rollers, yoga mat and lacrosse ball.

Hi Country Haus features a newly remodeled state of the art clubhouse with a fitness center, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, large swimming pool, kids room, pool table, and laundry facilities.
