This casita is located in a quiet neighborhood just 3 miles from Kanab city center. It has a mini kitchen with ample counter space. The kitchen also includes a mini-fridge, two burner stove, toaster oven, microwave and coffee maker. The casita has one king size bed. It has an outdoor table and seating at the kitchen counter. There is also a walk-in-closet with plenty of storage space. The casita is on the lower level of the home of the owners and has its own entrance.

The owners live upstairs and although they are very respectful of their guests, footsteps are audible. They have two small dogs and you may hear the pitter patter of little feet. The puppies do not bark often but if you hear barking look outside and you may see a herd of deer in the yard!

It is a short walk to dinosaur tracks and hiking trails. Kanab is a central location to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Lake Powell and The Wave. This is a great base camp for folks wanting to get out and explore the area!

There is a doorbell camera at the back door of the house which is near the casita entrance. The camera picks up the driveway and parking area but not the outdoor seating area or any part of the casita.

Here, a car is required to access the many parks, sites and destinations that we have here in southern Utah. A high-clearance 4WD vehicle is recommended for off-road adventures to remote places in the Kaibab National Forest, Vermilion Cliffs or other wilderness areas.

We traveled with our pets and as a pet friendly place, you would never know other pets have been in it. It was very clean. Although we enjoyed going in town for dinner each night, it had all the amenities you'd need if you preferred to eat at home. We really soaked in the quiet nights since we live in a city where noise pollution is over the top. We even booked an extra night while there because we didn't want to leave. Our only recommendation to travelers: while rental units can't satisfy every type of sleeper (soft vs firm mattresses) - if you're used to soft mattresses, travel with a small topper. However, this would not deter us in any way from going back to this rental. It was fantastic! And we can't wait to go back when it's not as cold so we can take in the fire pit and grilling outdoors! Last, communicating with the host - very responsive and fast to accommodate any of our needs. Top-notch!"

The zero-entry shower makes wheeling in easy, and conveniently placed grab bars are a big help when you need a little balance. As well, Jacob Hamblin park has a playground, field, pool with slides, splash pad, and tennis/pickleball courts; Kanab City Library is nearby and often has books for sale; Ranchos Park has great baseball fields; Best Friends Animal Sanctuary has great guided tours (they welcome donations). Also consider the local restaurants, bakeries, and ice cream shops. We love some of the local tour companies; they can make your travel time far more productive and enjoyable. Many of them even offer early morning pick-ups from Kanab.

You can walk to all of Kanab's restaurants and shops directly from our home but you will need a vehicle to explore the parks and other attractions. This home has convenient access to Hwy 89A/89 which takes you to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Zion and Bryce National Parks, Lake Powell, as well as the north rim of the Grand Canyon. Just minutes away from downtown Kanab, this home makes accessing local restaurants, shops, and grocery stores convenient and easy!

Here in southern Utah a vehicle is required to get around in town and beyond. We recommend a 4WD vehicle with high clearance if you intend to go off-road to out of the way places.

Cook like a pro in the kitchen, featuring the latest appliances and a variety of cooking tools. The dining area accommodates up to six and the counter bar has room for two.

The cherry tree was a great asset. They were delicious. We had a few issues with property but Zion Stays, the host and owners were very gracious and quick to resolve the situation. All-In-One for Nature Lovers - your private space to relax and enjoy Kanab and surroundings. Get to the Southwest and get the "full-southwest-experience", that gives you full comfort, but with the feeling to be in the wilderness. On request we can be your guides or just give you some advice on hotspots nearby.

Your space is ready to stay, and we also almost finished the landscaping. If you have any questions or wishes just let us know, we will try to make it happen. The unit is equipped with a bed for 2 as well as a foldable sleeping couch (3F6 (42inch) wide by 6F4 (76inch) long), which can be a bed for a 3rd person or 2 children. Pls. be aware that you the additional persons are okay to sleep on a couch especially if you are booking for more than 1 night. In case you are not sure pls. contact us before booking. It has a private bathroom with toilet and shower that has 2 sliding doors to the attached rooms. There is plenty of space for your clothes to go. The Kitchenette is equipped with a fridge that has a separate small freezer compartment, a microwave, a propane stove & oven, coffee maker and a toaster. For safety the camper is equipped with a propane detector. We also added some curtains for your privacy, but there will still some some sunlight into the rooms. The unit has 2 fans in both rooms to help you cool down in summertime and is equipped with a heater for the winter. We recently added an air condition.

You have your own private entrance. There is a private porch in front of your unit that has a dining table for 4 and an umbrella for shade as well as a bench.
The outdoor fireplace & the BBQ in front of our house are shared with us and the guest from the “Oranch Studio”.

The unit is also equipped with a radio that has speakers through the whole unit. There is a foldable working desk in the sleeping area and another foldable table that could be used for different things in front of the couch. So there is plenty of room to relax, sit or work comfortable.

The Space:
National Park Nest is a split level home that has everything you need to feel right at home. Upstairs you will find a living room with a smart TV, the perfect spot to relax after a long day of adventuring! The open kitchen and dining area has plenty of seating and a fully stocked kitchen making cooking meals a breeze. Down the hall you will find a newly remodeled full bathroom as well as 2 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 features a brand new kind sized bed and Bedroom 2 features a brand new queen sized bed.

Downstairs will be the kids (and maybe the adults!) favorite spot. The game room has several upright video game machines, a dart board, and plenty of board games to keep everyone entertained for hours! On this level you will also find another full bathroom, a bedroom featuring a brand new queen sized bed, and a bunk room with 2 sets of twin bunk beds. Full laundry facilities are also located downstairs as well as a desk/workspace.

National Park Nest is comfortably and tastefully furnished, but if you'd rather spend your time outside you can enjoy a big yard with plenty of room for the kids and the dog to play, a fenced dog kennel should you need it, and a fun photo op spot to take pictures to remember your vacation! Sit around the fire pit and enjoy the starry sky. At National Park Nest there's a little something for everyone!

Getting Around:
National Park Nest is just minutes away from the charming and historic Kanab center, with its award-winning restaurants and shops. Our guests can hike, bike and walk directly to everything the town has to offer. Hwy 89 is less than a mile away providing access to our world-renowned national parks and recreational areas surrounding Kanab.

Here in southern Utah a vehicle is required to get around in town and beyond. We recommend a 4WD vehicle with high clearance if you intend to go off-road to out of the way places.

Page, AZ airport is 1 hour away; St. George, UT airport is 1.5 hours away; Las Vegas airport is 3 hours away.

The Space:
Relax in our cozy home, newly renovated to ensure you have the most comfortable stay. We offer 3 private bedrooms (2 queens, 1 double), and a convertible couch to sleep up to a total of 7 adults. We have 2 full bathrooms complete with bathtub/shower combos, including a double sink master bathroom, a spacious open-concept living and dining room area, with a beautiful view of the red cliffs. Each bedroom is equipped with large closets, master suite having a walk in closet. We have a desk and dedicated office area in our second bedroom. Our laundry room has a full washer and dryer.

Enjoy unique touches, like original local art in each bedroom, a fully renovated interior and brand new HVAC. Relax on the back patio and watch the sunset light up the red cliff panorama! Or hang out by the propane fire table (wood burning fire pit use is prohibited due to fire restrictions and risks). The Neighborhood:
Kanab is a unique gem of a small town in the scenic Southwest. There are plenty of fun things to do within walking distance like a beautiful park, water park and pool, skate park and more! We are right in the middle of the historic old town neighborhood, where the first settlers built their homes, one block from Main Street. Walk the same streets as Hollywood stars such as Marilyn Monroe and John Wayne when they came to town to make their old western movies!
From restaurants, bars and coffee shops, to local art and gift shops, you'll find unique treasures and all the services you need within walking distance. Explore the Squaw trailhead only a short walk north, for a beautiful red rock hike that overlooks the whole town!

Getting Around:
Everything on Main Street is just a block or two away. Kanab does not have any public transportation, but it's such a small town, you don't need it! We definitely recommend taking a hike up Squaw Trail at the end of N 100 E (base of the cliffs) for a spectacular view. We are a short distance away from grocery stores, coffee shops, pharmacies and gas stations. Check out Sunny Creek or Kanab Creek Bakery for great coffee and Willow Creek for adventure supplies! Come stay in Kanab’s oldest pioneer home in the Little Hollywood Suite. This nickname was given due to the film-making that took place in Kanab for many years. Kanab made its screen debut in 1924 when Tom Mix filmed "Deadwood Coach.” That was the beginning of many more to come to the remote but beautiful Kanab. William Wellman first called Kanab Little Hollywood and the name stuck. This room is original to the home located in the southwest corner of the home on the main level.

The space
Little Hollywood provides a space to unwind and relax while in Kanab! It has a private entrance with porch as well as access to the shared spaces of the home. Amenities include; deluxe queen bed, free Wi-Fi, free parking, hair dryer, private bathroom with claw foot tub & shower & snacks and Inn sticker!

British Adventure decorated UPSTAIRS VIEW room with queen sized bed and individual size futon sofa sleeper. Your designated, private full bathroom with shower is just down the hallway and reserved just for you (no en suite bathroom). No closet.

This smaller, basic room has a fun theme with Union Jack flag and aviator / airplane decor! Kitchen shared with other guests (bring groceries). High, angled ceiling with quiet ceiling fan.

The space
This is our favorite spot in the house! This upstairs, indoor balcony room is a magical spot for a "world traveler sleepover" with eclectic aviation, explorer and Union Jack British flag decor.

You will love the super high, angled ceiling and large, second story window with sunrise views and sweeping vista of distant plateaus (part of the red rock layer of the Grand Staircase Escalante).

The room is quite simple and basic, with just enough room for a comfy queen sized bed (our firmest, with a memory foam topper added!), a dresser, and an individual sized futon sofa sleeper (let us know if you would like us to make up the sofa into a bed with extra padding, pillows and bedding)!

If you crack the window at night then you will hear (quite loud!) songbirds at dawn (you might also occasionally hear other guests coming in late or leaving early, as this room overlooks our front door and driveway parking area).

One of the best features of this room is the noiseless ceiling fan with BEDSIDE CONTROLS for lights and fan (turn the fan power up, down, or off without getting out of bed).

LOCATION: Kanab, Utah is considered "The Heart Of the Parks" because of our central location! We are in the middle between several parks and destinations. We are situated 1 to 1.5 hours from:

•Bryce Canyon national Park
•Grand Canyon national Park (NORTH rim, open again May 15, 2026)

While there is no clothes closet in this space, there is a dresser for your use.

The British Adventure room is in the middle of the upstairs. On one end of the upstairs is the Peter Pan room and the stairs to main floor. On the other end is the Cowboy Room, Girly Room and upstairs bathrooms.

We have high speed WiFi Internet at no extra charge and our 2 router boxes ensure that every inch of the house has excellent coverage!

Guests would need to be very quiet (no staying up late talking, streaming video/music, etc) because sound travels from that central area and it would keep all of the other guests awake (we have multiple guest bedrooms). Quiet time starts at 10 pm at night MST (Mountain Standard Time)

BATHROOMS: You have a designated, private, full bathroom that's assigned to your room. It's in the hallway on the same floor as your room (but not right in your room, you'll have to leave your room and walk down the hall to get to your bathroom). Your bathroom contains:

This space is suitable for children who are kept safe and supervised. The room has a 2nd story window that, if left open, could be a falling hazard for children.

As with the rest of the house, there is no rough housing, running, rowdy play, etc inside.

A note on reviews: The first 14 reviews for this listing was before it was an enclosed, doored sleeping area and was a non-private loft. We have recently remodeled to make this space still amazing, but now with privacy and built in ceiling fan.

The space
We love visitors at Burro Flats High Desert Lodge! 2nd largest home in Kanab on 3 acres with nothing but open country and spacious views behind. This is our 'American Frontier Room' (formerly known as the ‘Cowboy Room’), which is right next door to and shares a wall with our Garden Room!

EN SUITE (attached) BATHROOM: You won't need to leave your room to use the bathroom, take a shower, or get ready in the morning. There is a private, doored bathroom with shower in this room.

We have GREAT, fast wifi and cell phone service (except Sprint reception isn’t so great).

Here in the spread out, uncrowded, wild southwestern high desert, Kanab is a popular tourist destination due to its central location to all local, scenic areas including:

We call our house "Burro Flats High Desert Lodge." This home and location brings us so much joy and we love it when visitors enjoy it, too. We welcome friendly, community minded guests of all ages, language, culture, heritage and lifestyle.

The "Frontier Room" is ideally suited for people wanting to share a room and have separate beds.

FUTON NOTE: The futon is quite large, it's almost a queen size width. When the futon is opened up and made into a bed, there isn't much room left to pass between the two beds. Since less than a foot of space is between the beds, it is necessary to walk sideways between the beds. Great for sleeping, although a bit cramped for those who are hoping to spend a lot of time in their rooms. Please let us know if you'd like us to make the futon into a sleeping space! :)

We provide breakfast basics which you prepare yourself (self-serve) in the guest kitchen. The basics usually are:
Coffee/tea and almond milk
Some sort of bread (bagels / English muffins / sliced bread)
Peanut butter
Oatmeal
Fresh fruit (banana / apple / orange)
Granola bars / snack bars

*Why do we charge an additional persons fee of $8 after the first guest? This fee helps us cover the costs of more toiletries, snacks and food, paper products, etc. being used. It also considers extra hot water for bathing, additional laundry such as towels and such.

This room is kid friendly for ages 2 and up (shared areas of the house are not, so careful supervision is required for safety, and no running or rowdy play is allowed inside), although it is possible that a strong toddler might be able to pull the freestanding, wooden wardrobes or bedside lamps down and knock them over on top of themselves, so care should be taken if that is a possibility for your kiddo(s).

While children ages 2 or older are allowed, they are counted as individuals and as such, children are charged for as additional persons. Thank you for understanding that kids count, too! :)

Guest access
Take advantage of the large, furnished common areas including kitchen (bring your own groceries other than basic condiments, spices & oils), living room with pool table and large, covered, outdoor balcony with patio table and chairs, electrical outlets and sunset views.

There is an additional half bath (toilet and sink) downstairs on the main floor for everyone to use. Each guest has privacy while they are taking their turn in this bathroom.

During your stay
We live in the lower level of the three level house, with our own kitchen, bathroom and living quarters. So guests might mainly only see us at check in, check out, if they have any questions, or occasionally in the common areas of the house. We're here if you need us; otherwise, we'll maintain a respectful distance.

You will most likely be interacting with multiple other guests in our home during your stay; this is a welcoming, social and friendly environment.

Other things to note
We have a fenced in burro field on the property for our pet donkeys. Please for your safety and theirs, do not enter their pasture without our presence. If you would like to be introduced to them or to know more about them, please just ask us; Chocolate Bear and Donny would be pleased to make your acquaintance!

Welcome to Burro Flats High Desert Lodge (our home which we love to share with visitors)! The "Independence Room" is a large (about 500 square feet) master bedroom for up to 3. It is an UPSTAIRS room with a view facing east, and attached private bathroom including deep soaker bathtub (plus shower). It also has a large closet, seating area and SUPER comfy queen sized bed.
Our multiple guest sets SHARE access to main floor kitchen, pool table (TV and pool table hours 10am-10pm), half bathroom.

The space
When you reserve this upstairs master bedroom, you book a stay in the 2nd largest home in popular, high desert destination city Kanab, Utah!

Our home rests on 3 acres with nothing but open country behind, with an acre or more between any neighbors (however, the inside of our home is often bustling with fellow guests, and many a new friendship has been made within these walls!).

We call our home the "Burro Flats High Desert Lodge." This space and location is so beautiful and it gives us joy to share it with others.

Many guests remark that it feels similar to a Bed & Breakfast (with a very bare-bones, self-serve DIY breakfast with only the basics provided), or like a very upscale hostel (because of the shared, common areas for cooking or hanging out... you will still have your own private room for sleeping and storing your things, and privacy in your en-suite, attached bathroom.

You will be the only guests to use your bathroom, which contains a combination shower/bath, towels, washcloths, shampoo and conditioner, bubblebath, liquid body wash & handsoap, facial tissue, hairdryer, mirror, sink, countertop and of course, toilet and toilet paper! :) You can store your own toiletries in there, no one else will be allowed to use your bathroom, which is in your room.

The "Independence Room" is located in relative privacy within the house. There are multiple other guest rooms on the same floor, but not directly next to the "Independence Room." You will still need to observe quiet hours starting at 10pm each night, though, as our home isn't very soundproof.

We think that you will love the high, vaulted yet cozy, sloped ceilings, the large window with a sunrise view, the historical American decor, and room to relax in your "home base" between daily sightseeing excursions.

How nice it will be to come back in the evenings, after each day of exploring, to soak in the tub or lounge in the common areas!

We have GREAT, fast wifi Internet and cell phone service (other than Sprint, which seems to have problems here) and this room has a small table, chairs and plenty of electrical outlets.

The queen sized bed mattress is extremely comfortable and high quality.

There is a space heater in your room, as well as a ceiling fan for added air circulation. This way you can control your own temperature. There is also an air vent in the ceiling for central air conditioning and heating.

Also in the room is an extra blanket, extra pillows, facial tissue (Kleenex), a wastebasket, end tables and bedside lamps, and light blocking curtains. We care about you having a wonderful visit!

Take advantage of the large, furnished common areas downstairs from your room (on the main floor ground level), including kitchen (bring your own groceries other than coffee, margarine, cooking oils and a few condiments and spices, and enjoy full kitchen privileges until 10pm at night), living room with pool table (until 10pm) and covered, outdoor balcony with patio table and chairs, electrical outlets and sunset views.

There is also a half bathroom (toilet and sink only: No shower/bath) on the main floor, which is near the kitchen. All guests can use this bathroom.
