Once a vacation land of the Timucuan and Caloosa Indians, Longboat Key is a quieter gulf-side retreat located between Lido Key and Anna Maria Island along Florida's southwest coast. The barrier island is surrounded by the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and Sarasota Bay. The island’s eastern shoreline is covered in mangroves with hidden canals and marinas. On the western shoreline, you can walk for miles on the white sandy beaches and swim in the gentle gulf. Imagine spending your days beachcombing, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, sailing, golfing, or cycling along the island's winding bike path.
Longboat Key is known for its abundance of dining options. With the Gulf and Sarasota Bay in its backyard, many restaurants focus on serving local, fresh seafood while visitors enjoy amazing waterfront views.

- "Close to beach" - "Thank you for a beautiful and well stocked place. We had a wonderful time. The kitchen has plenty of room to cook in, thank you for stocking it with a good coffee maker and coffee. Every morning we would toast our English muffins, cook up our bacon and fry up our eggs. Sitting outside in the patio was wonderful. It’s the little things like the dish drainer in the kitchen , a nice fan above the bed and a trash can in the bathroom, also a full mirror behind the closet door that makes our stay magical. We so appreciate the beach chairs and the umbrella, though we still brought our own beach umbrella because ours had good UVA protection. The sweet path down to the beach was wonderful. We are definitely coming back! "

Enjoy staying at this one of kind beach bungalow for your special occasions or just a family fun retreat. Built-in 1930, historical Florida charm, this adorable quaint home with lots of character has much to offer starting with the pristine water of the Sarasota bay just steps from the front door. Enjoy a morning coffee while looking out over the bay. Easy access to the quaint community beach and boat launch are great for a quick dip or going on a kayak adventure. It is a public boat ramp, so it can be busy at times, however, there is limited parking and people typically drop their boat in the water and go, we have found it fun to watch the people. We are also across the street from Mar Vista restaurant, extremely convenient for dinner, but has restaurant traffic. The noise ordinances on Longboat Key prohibits live music etc, so it stays fairly quiet. We continue to upgrade the property, but it does have its quirks due to age, for example, the switch in the bedroom closet turns on your living room lights. We personally love the little quirks of the past.

A shopping plaza, Avenue of the Flowers, is just down the road, offering a wine and liquor store, breakfast restaurant, bar, and pizza restaurant. High-quality Municipal Tennis Courts are nearby and a four-foot-wide sidewalk extends for most of Longboat Key with seven to eight miles for jogging, rollerblading, walking, and biking, and walking your dog. One can also walk Longboat beach for the same distance, and shelling is a favorite activity.

There are also bike lanes on both sides of Gulf of Mexico Drive for extreme bike riders. Longboat Key is a very upscale barrier island that is connected by bridges to Anna Maria Key to the North and St. Armand's Key and Sarasota to the South. Sarasota Airport is an easy 15-20 minute drive and Tampa International Airport is an hour's drive North.
Less than 2 miles from the famous and lovely St. Armand's Circle. Walk or take the Trolley or park in the many spaces provided.
