Welcome to The Starlit Burrow in the Cypress Hills, Alberta!

This 624 sq ft cabin comfortably accommodates 2 people, with one queen size bed and a sofa bed in the living room. The cabin is fully equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, indoor wood-burning fireplace, wi-fi internet, and a smart TV.

You can enjoy the beautiful views and sounds of the Cypress Hills from the deck, or explore the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park and nearby lakes.

The house is on a private 2 acres of land, directly bordered by Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park to the West and South and the Highway 41 to the East. It is a comfortable space that offers everything you need for a relaxing stay. Enjoy the warmth of the indoor wood-burning fireplace, the natural light from the big windows, and the spacious deck with panoramic views of the sky, stars and landscape. On a clear night, you can see the Milky Way, shooting stars, and maybe even the Northern Lights.

This space has wi-fi internet and a Roku smart TV so you can binge your favourite shows, or you can curl up and read the newest book release next to a cozy fire in the wood-burning fireplace. There is a full kitchen that has a fridge, freezer, stove, oven, air fryer and microwave. Other kitchen necessities include pots/pans, spices, and a traditional coffee maker (or a french press) to accompany our complimentary coffee, tea assortment, and hot chocolate. All of the water available inside the home is purified through a rigorous reverse-osmosis and UV-light system, so you don't need to bring any with you.

The cabin features one private bedroom with a queen bed, one spare room to set up a 31"x75" cot if needed, and a pull-out sofa if you doze off while watching a show. The full bathroom has a shower only.

The cabin is heated from a conventional central furnace controlled by a digital, easy-to-use, wall-mounted thermostat. The wood fireplace can be used to make the cabin extra toasty inside.

The outdoor space features a large, south facing deck that is perfect for morning yoga, or for stargazing on a cloudless night. There is an outdoor firepit, adirondack chairs, and a picnic table for your outdoor lounging and dining. We supply some firewood to start you off, but if you like a big outdoor fire, please bring your own firewood, or you can purchase firewood from the nearby Elkwater townsite during the camping season.

In spring and winter, it’s best if your vehicle has 4 wheel or all wheel drive, as the driveway slope can be a little challenging without them.

Besides the resident owl, some visitors include other bird and deer traversing the property. During the summertime, there may be cows grazing in the field West and South of the property. They are early risers and like to let the world know that.

We have 3 security cameras on the property for security purposes.
1 on the shop facing East monitoring the driveway and gate. 1 on the residence facing North monitoring the sidewalk. 1 on the residence facing West that monitors the front door. They record video and audio but will not be monitored during your stay.

The detached shop to the north of the cabin is locked for the owners' private use.

We welcome dogs as we know they are part of the family! We can only welcome dogs at this time due to owner allergies to other animals. We provide 2 clean, dog food dishes, 1 water dish, some poop bags and blankets to cover the couch and bed as we know they love to cuddle, but please use the blankets provided for the furniture. Please do not leave your pets unattended or unsecured in the residence. Please also pick up after your dog, and bring your own leashes and/or tie outs.

Honestly, it is the most well stocked, every detail thought about place I have ever stayed in, probably including my own house. Outside blankets, slippers, first aid kit, hair ties, the list of extras goes on and one. I can't think of anything that it didn't have that I would have liked/needed. The kitchen is perfectly stocked, including an air fryer! The dishes set-up made clean-up easy, and the window provided a great view. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom even had a great remote controlled ceiling fan. The luggage rack and clothes rack was the best most practicable set-up I have had at a VRBO. Honestly in addition to the location being perfect for my needs in Cypress Hills PP, this place is almost a destination in itself!"

The apartment is located in a vibrant downtown street. It’s filled with sunshine during the day and cozy at night time. The unit is spacious and above a business. Access to the unit is either in the front or back of the building.

This location is the lower 2 levels of my home. After entering through the coded locked gate, you have a private entrance, using the back door. With a video doorbell and a touchscreen coded lock. You have a full living area with a well equipped small kitchen, & eating area. The eating area also makes a nice work space. On the lower level, you have a laundry area, 3 piece bathroom, and a bedroom with one queen bed. There are drawers within the bedroom with a closet area. It is all completely newly renovated. And it is private.

I live upstairs and I have a dog. He is super friendly! He’s well trained and you may see him in my portion of the yard on nice days. He will greet you with a bark and a wagging tail. His name is Gunner

Come & stay in our 1st floor south facing one bedroom suite! No shared space!We have high ceilings, bright windows, lots of light! Open concept floor plan with 1 large bedroom w/ a comfy queen Size Bed. The suite is private, spacious and in a safe area, has its own laundry & is fully stocked & professionally cleaned. Kitchen is fully equipped w/ indoor&outdoor dining space. Quick access to shopping areas, parks, trails and downtown! The suite is smoke and pet free, 1st week of supplies provided.

Our family friendly and safe fully furnished one bedroom suite is only a 10 minute drive to almost all the stores and places in town, all the stores and restaurants like Costco, Superstore, Brown Social House, Walmart, Canadian Tire are just minutes away, the backyard is backed on a path to local parks and cycles lanes. One parking spot is available for the suite.

The living room has a 50inch TV. Gorgeous view and great lighting from the windows. Electric fire place and additional sittings are available. Xbox, computer monitor, and a treadmill are provided to make the stay more enjoyable.

The bedroom has a queen sized bed with a large closet, a window overlooking the backyard as well as a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and plenty of storage room.

We also have an equipped work space in case you would like to work or study at home.

The light kitchen cabinets creates more open space in the kitchen, which is fully equipped with an induction cooking top, air fryer, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The open plan concept allows you to use the kitchen whilst still keeping in the conversation going during mealtimes at the dining area.

Please ask regarding longer-term stays over three months.

Bookings require an accredited VISA or Mastercard along with a valid government issued photo ID, which will both be required upon check in. VISA Debit or cash will not be accepted for reservations.
There are people living in the unit upstairs, so there might be noise from someone moving around, but the first floor is insulated, and strictly no noise during quiet hours between 11pm-8am. Due to this nature if you like to book else where we understand, but negative review would not be appreciated regarding people moving around during the day.

Main entrance and laundry room are shared with the Host. The remainder of the basement is for guests to enjoy.

The space
Shared main entrance of the house into the landing. The stairs leading up are blocked off with a gate to keep the dogs upstairs. There are stairs going down, with a door at the bottom. Guests can use this door for entering their area, and keep closed for extra privacy.

The laundry room is located in the basement, and will be shared with by the hosts. However, hosts will avoid doing laundry during guests stays, and will likely only need to access during any extended stays. During Short term stays Hosts will make all efforts to avoid doing laundry, and stay out of the basement to allow guests to have private enjoyment of the suite.

There is a full kitchenette with stove top, toaster oven, coffee maker, microwave, fridge/feeezer, kettle, pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, utensils, cutlery etc. There is a sink in the laundry room set up for kitchen use.

3pc bathroom is private for guests to enjoy. There is a small linen closest inside the bathroom/ behind the door. Inside are clean towels, hand towels, wash cloths.

You’ll love the "Chickadee Suite" because of the comfy bed, private bathroom and large tv room that is included as part of your space. Our home is close to parks, restaurants, dining and shopping and an easy access to the highway. The Chickadee Suite is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers.

The space includes a bedroom, bathroom and a medium sized tv room. The new queen mattress has new bamboo sheets and pillows/cases. The window opens up a view of the backyard which is wonderfully quiet and shady in the morning. New flooring has been added through out as well as a new shower that is very spacious.

We do need to access the basement from time to time to bring things up or down and to do laundry. We always knock and ensure it is alright to do so though.

The bedroom, living room and bathroom are all on the same level of a 4 level split house. There is also a laundry room on this same floor which visitors may use as well. There is an firestick with all the usual tv channels available. Wi-Fi is easy to access.

There is a small cleaning cost for your stay which saves you money. We do not supply a breakfast, but there is a Keurig coffee machine to start your day. We do have a Bernese Mountain Dog that isn't allowed in the suite itself, but may be around in the backyard or main floor when you arrive. She is big and friendly. The yard is also open to just hang out in, have a drink or have a fire (there is a propane fire pit) and relax.

The space
Our family friendly and safe fully furnished one bedroom suite is only a 10 minute drive to almost all the stores and places in town, all the stores and restaurants like Costco, Superstore, Brown Social House, Walmart, Canadian Tire are just minutes away, the backyard is backed on a path to local parks and cycles lanes. One parking spot is available for the suite.

The living room has a 50inch TV. Gorgeous view and great lighting from the windows. Electric fire place and additional sittings are available. Xbox, computer monitor, and a treadmill are provided to make the stay more enjoyable.

The bedroom has a queen sized bed with a large closet, a window overlooking the backyard as well as a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and plenty of storage room.

We also have an equipped work space in case you would like to work or study at home.

The light kitchen cabinets creates more open space in the kitchen, which is fully equipped with an induction cooking top, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster and coffee machine. The open plan concept allows you to use the kitchen whilst still keeping in the conversation going during mealtimes at the dining area.

Please ask regarding longer-term stays over three months.

All cleaning protocols are strictly adhered. We will continue to make sure cleanliness is a top priority. Additional reminders and attention to detail will be of utmost importance to continue to keep everyone safe so we can all enjoy life.

For longer than a week stays, please notice Airbnb doesn’t do things the same as hotels, one week of supplies are provided from host to get you started after the first week please get your own soap toilet paper etc., a vacuum can be borrowed for longer stays, please know that we don’t access your suite to clean during the stay.
Bookings require an accredited VISA or Mastercard along with a valid government issued photo ID, which will both be required upon check in. VISA Debit or cash will not be accepted for reservations.
There are people living in the unit upstairs, so there might be noise from someone moving around, but the first floor is insulated, and strictly no noise during quiet hours between 11pm-8am. Due to this nature if you like to book else where we understand, but negative review would not be appreciated regarding people moving around during the day.

Spacious and bright house within walking distance of DT, YMCA, library, and groceries. Bus stop is across the street.

Cottage-style open rooms. Two rooms with queen-sized beds, and a double airbed or large couch for extra sleeping room if needed. Wifi and a flat screen TV in the living room for Amazon firestick, older PlayStation and games also available. Large fenced back yard.

Within 500m of a 70K trail system near the South Sask. river. Can walk to local restaurants, yoga and parks.

The space
We are constantly improving our space between guests, and learning how to better accommodate guests of all types. The house and neighbourhood are older, with unique decor, lots of light, and big trees in the front and back yards. Rooms are open and bright. The house has the unique design quirks of its era along with every possible amenity we can provide. There is a large driveway with room for several vehicles.

Please note there is only a wall A/C unit (which does work well and cools the house down quickly) and fans in all the bedrooms (as well as ceiling fans in the master bedroom and living room), not central air. This is something we hope to upgrade in the future!

The basement is partially renovated but not yet ready for use and may be accessed occasionally by us as we work on this. If you need to use the washer and dryer, please just let us know and we can arrange it. When we access this area, we go through a separate entrance and should not inconvenience you in any way. We strive to always respect your time and privacy at the house.

There is a reasonably sized front yard (unfenced) and a large fully fenced back yard. Guests are welcome to use this area and will have it to themselves! The back yard is still a work in progress, but it’s the perfect spot for dogs and kids to run around (welcome to run through the sprinkler in the summer!).

Guest access
The main floor has everything most guests will need, including two upstairs bedrooms, a washroom with a tub, kitchen, living room.

There is a basement that is being renovated and is largely used for storage, and will be closed off to the upstairs area. We may access the basement through the back entry if needed. There is tidy access to a washer and dryer that can be arranged!

Other things to note
Our yard will need to be accessed on occasion for yard work, watering, mowing, etc. We can happily work around anyone’s schedule to provide guests with utmost privacy. The yard is fenced, however if you let your pet out please ensure the back gate is closed and please, please pick up after your pet!

The kitchen wall has several appliances that you can use, however please do not use the microwave at the same time as any other item as it will flip the breaker.

There is high-speed wifi and an Amazon Firestick hooked up to a large television to access Netflix, Crave, Amazon, Youtube, or watch movies on.

There are about five steps to get into the house.There is an inflatable air double air mattress and electric pump in the main bedroom closet should more sleeping arrangements be required. We are happy to set this up for you.

The basement is under renovation and is mostly used for storage, but there is laundry access that can be arranged.

Close to a major grocery store with a Starbucks, liquor store and convenience store within 2 blocks. Local brewery and ice cream within blocks as well! Fast food and restaurants a few blocks away

The space
This is a basement suite that is unlike any other! The windows are all equipped with a privacy and a blackout shade, so you decide what you want to see! The bathroom has 2 sinks and the shower has 2 shower heads, each with their own temperature control. High speed wifi is included. Washer and dryer at no extra cost to you, just please don’t use any scented products in our machines, as we are a scent sensitive home, and consider all guests current and future that have sensitivities. The house is close to a major grocery store, Starbucks, liquor store, and convenience store. A local favourite, swirls ice cream is just 2 blocks away, as well as local landmark Tino’s drive thru, for a delicious meal! Hell’s basement brewery is just across the highway, about 3 blocks, for you to stop in and enjoy some of our fabulous locally crafted beer! There is parking available on the street in front of the house. We will leave you to your stay and stay out of your way, but if there is anything you need, or have questions, we are available any time! Self check in is our status quo, so on your arrival day, you can arrive at your leisure!

The space
This basement suite on a tree lined street is located in a bungalow and has lots of space! 2 bedrooms with queen beds and loads of daylight! Large bathroom with a huge glass shower! Kitchen stocked with all the amenities.

Guest access
Self check in, key code entry. Do not give this code out to anyone other than the people registered with your stay. Parking in driveway or on street. Please park in front of the house and towards the corner. We leave the parking spaces in front of the neighbours houses for them. When parking in the driveway, do not park too close to the fence, as this is the gate access to the basement suite and our guests down there need access to this.

Guests have the basement suite to themselves, with shared laundry just outside their door! The furnace room and hot water closet are not permitted to be entered by guests.

Other things to note
This house has another air bnb located in it. Please be courteous of noise (heavy feet, slamming doors, voices, TV etc) as to not disrupt the other guests in the house. This home was extensively soundproofed, but excessive noise still travels.
The thermostat is located upstairs, so you do not have control of the temperature. You can always message me to adjust it to your comfort level. Muddy or greasy footwear or clothing is not permitted in the house. No smoking in the house. If you require a recptical to extinguish and dispose of your cigarettes, please ask me for one.

This shared home (WHOLE upstairs living space is yours!) is close to ALL amenties here in Med Hat. Just minutes from Hwy 1, Mall and Casino. The stampede grounds/Coop is only a 5 - 15 min drive away. Super cozy and quiet. The fireplace in the living room is wonderful on cool nights. The deck off the kitchen is a great spot in the morning for coffee or relaxing in the evenings, turning on the heat lantern or dip into the hot tub for a evening soak.
