Trapper's Cabin is perfect for a couple or a family. Economically priced at $250.00 (not including taxes. GST and Hotel Tax add 9% to the rental price) per night for up to four people. There is a large beautiful fisherman's lake just down the hill (Payne Lake) and the hamlet of Mountain View is only 4 km east where food and gas can be purchased. Our bungalow style cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, a bathroom with a double shower, a large open concept kitchen/living room and a natural gas fireplace.

It is located on a 13 acre pond beside The Great Canadian Barn Dance, which is 1 hour from Lethbridge and 30 minutes from Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, and Waterton Lake National Park.

Non motorized water sports are allowed on the lake, so you can bring a canoe, kayak, paddle board, etc. It is also great for skating/pond hockey in the winter. Swimming is not recommended. 5 minutes down the road is Cochrane Lake which is ideal for fishing. 10 minutes down the road is Waterton Reservoir which has a beach for swimming. There are plenty of hiking trails within a 30 minute drive.

The lake is shared with The Great Canadian Barn Dance which at one point hosted music camps, water sports camps, and other events throughout the summer. (Currently closed since Covid - unsure if it will reopen)

This property is pet friendly EXCEPT for cats as our family is allergic.

The road to get here is a gravel road and the direct route via google maps will not get to the house. However, it was not a far drive away. It was about a 23 minute drive into Waterton town. The room was very tidy, the bed was comfortable and the shower had fantastic water pressure with lots of hot water. The hosts were very accommodating, easy to communicate with and try to make sure your stay is comfortable. There’s a ton of outdoor activities and some really cool playground equipment. It’s a great place for a family, but the campground as a whole was very quiet and peaceful. My only complaint is that we could hear everything the guests staying in the room above us were doing. Overall, it was a really nice alternative to staying in Waterton and we’d definitely stay again."

Essentials of the house: No A/C but fans available for use. Firepit (bring your own wood), BBQ(propane tank provided), picnic table, and kids swings available for your outside enjoyment. The downstairs family room TV has an Amazon Firestick so you will need an Amazon prime account to login and take advantage of Netflix, Disney and other streaming apps. Otherwise a large assortment of DVDs are available. There is a desk and chair tucked into a corner downstairs(next to the TV area) if you are bringing work along with wifi. Lake towels available if you venture down to Payne Lake for a cool dip. Popcorn, water cooler and coffee station provided for guest enjoyment. Please note you are free to use the washing machine and dryer but warning we have hard water and sometimes iron stains can occur. High chair and pack n play crib available for use upon request.

Trout Creek is one of our Payne Lake Wilderness Huts, located by famous fishing lake. It is perfect for little weekend getaway for your much needed break form everyday life and relax in the nature. There are walk path, bike path, pickle ball court, half basketball court and frisbee golf course on 160 acreage property and only one minute walk to the lake. Saskatoon berries are the bonus in summer season. It is 15 minutes away from Waterton international park and a lot to do in all season.please note that this unit has only a half bathroom wornsunk and toilet. You have to use shower house but coins are provided.

This spacious, cozy 2 bedroom basement suite has been updated and is in a quiet cul-de-sac. It is located about 30 minutes from Waterton and Glacier. It features 2 large screen TVs , one in the main bedroom and one in the living room with chromecast (Sportsnet, YouTube, Netflix) and both with an HDMI cable to connect to your computer.

The space
Two bedrooms - one very large and the second average. King bed in large bedroom and queen bed in smaller bedroom. We also have queen size 4” foam for younger children to comfortably sleep on. A 46 inch TV in living area as well as 42inch TV in the master bedroom. We cancelled our cable, there is an HDMI cable for each TV so you can watch anything you can access in your computer. Chrome cast is attached to the TV in the living room (Sportsnet, Netflix, YouTube) Beds are new and are top of the line. The suite has a totally separate furnace and heating ducts for each floor. Basement heating ducts are in the cement floor. This eliminates the possibility of any air contamination between where we live, on the main floor and where our guests stay, in the basement.
