There is a large beautiful fisherman's lake just down the hill (Payne Lake) and the hamlet of Mountain View is only 4 km east where food and gas can be purchased. Our bungalow style cabin has 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, a bathroom with a double shower, a large open concept kitchen/living room and a natural gas fireplace.

It is located on a 13 acre pond beside The Great Canadian Barn Dance, which is 1 hour from Lethbridge and 30 minutes from Fort Macleod, Pincher Creek, and Waterton Lake National Park.

Non motorized water sports are allowed on the lake, so you can bring a canoe, kayak, paddle board, etc. It is also great for skating/pond hockey in the winter. Swimming is not recommended. 5 minutes down the road is Cochrane Lake which is ideal for fishing. 10 minutes down the road is Waterton Reservoir which has a beach for swimming. There are plenty of hiking trails within a 30 minute drive.

The lake is shared with The Great Canadian Barn Dance which at one point hosted music camps, water sports camps, and other events throughout the summer. (Currently closed since Covid - unsure if it will reopen)

This property is pet friendly EXCEPT for cats as our family is allergic.

The road to get here is a gravel road and the direct route via google maps will not get to the house. However, it was not a far drive away. It was about a 23 minute drive into Waterton town. When we are back in the area, we will return!"
