We could hear everything from within our locked room (people talking in the next room, if anyone was using the bathroom down the hall etc). I think there were along 12 wc/shower rooms and never had to wait for one. The pod was comfortable itself, and the hostel wasn't noisy, generally everyone was quite and respectful. The 1st night it was quite hot in the pod even with the air vent inside on. Much cooler the 2nd night which made it more comfortable. The location was also good, you were never more than 25 mins walk from the main attractions. "

Are you searching for a calm and centrally located room in a cozy two-room-apartment in Berlin?
If you need a place to relax, work for a few days or weeks or just to use it as a base while you explore Berlin as a tourist, look no further.
The private room is equipped with a height adjustable desk and a large adjustable computer monitor, suited for working remotely. There is plenty of space to move around and you can enjoy the calmness and tranquility of the apartment if you need to focus.

The space
The room that is offered here is my private bedroom, which includes a desk fully equipped with a 31" monitor and an audio system.
The living room and balcony are technically private and not part of this ad, but the door won't be locked and I invite guests to use the living room during my absence.
Please enquire if I’ll be with you in the apartment during your stay or if you’ll possibly have the whole apartment for yourself.

Guest access
The ad is valid for the smaller room, advertised as the bedroom in the photo gallery. The large room, or "living room", which includes access to the balcony, won't be locked though and can be used by guests in my absence.

Kindly enquire before you book if you’ll be sharing the apartment with me or if you’ll have it all by yourself.

During your stay
If you see this listing available, one of two scenarios will be in effect:
Either I’ll be working a lot and only return to the apartment to sleep in the living room.
Or I won’t be around for longer periods, meaning you effectively have the whole apartment all to your self. If it's important to you, please ask me about the situation before booking.

Other things to note
Please note that you are not booking a sterile hotel room, but a room within an apartment where someone is living fulltime. That means, the room you're booking and the apartment contain numerous personal items, including my book collection, several pieces of art and expensive furniture.

My house is located in a quiet and peaceful suburb close to Berlin. The trainstation is with 800m in walking distance. The train takes 18 - 25 minutes to Berlin central station.
Crockery, cutlery, kettle, coffee maker are in the room. A small fridge, microwave, induction hotplate with pan & pot, as well as trash are in an open extra room. The large bathroom has to be shared with other guests when rented.

The space
A bowl, dish soap, sponge and kitchen towel for washing dishes are in the bathroom

About the location:
Kreuzberg is a Bohemian part of town, similar to the East Village in NYC. It's very diverse. You will meet people from all around the globe just stepping out the door. Maybachufer is one of the most sought after locations in Kreuzberg since it has a scenic view on a river (Landwehrkanal). The area is a shopping paradise, you'll find anything from brand new to used to vintage at your fingertips. There is also a huge fruit market (all about half price compared to a supermarket) held twice a week and a flea market held once a week.

Guest access
Parking on the street is free, but it might take a while to find a spot. Public transportation in Berlin is excellent. You can get anywhere fast for little money.

Other things to note
Keys are with a neighbor who lives in the building. He knows everything about the neighborhood and can answer all the questions you might have. I will also be available for questions.

The apartment is ideally suited for short breaks or business travelers.
Free parking is available for our guests.
Supermarkets are close by and also within walking distance.
The apartment is not suitable for craftsmen.
There are no separate beds
The apartment is located in the north of Pankow.
By public transport you are in approx. 30-40 minutes in the middle of the city center.
The apartment is on the upper floor of our house and is reached over steps

Guests access the apartment via a staircase, which is located on the upper floor of our house and can be closed by means of a sliding door,
