- "Great location, small hostel which was nice " - "Our entire stay at Coogee Beach House was great. The hostel is very close to the beach and the bus stops. The hostel is cleaned daily, though it’s really hard to control if some of the other guests are not tidy and considerate. My fiancé and I stayed in a shared room. The bed was comfortable. I would just suggest that the management separate guests who are purely tourists from those who are staying long-term to make the stay more comfortable. I’ve observed this in other hostels as well, when there are long-term guests, it feels like they take over the whole room as if they own the place. I understand that some are on working holiday visas, but there are guests who are on pure holiday and just visiting. We also had a safety concern about the hostel. We noticed that the main door wasn’t being locked at night. We discovered that the woman we saw entering at night was homeless and had been seemingly entering the building without restriction for months. We don't know whether the night duty manager is aware of it. So what’s the point of the key the doors aren’t even locked? And we had to pay for $20 key deposit. Although, the hotel manager and the staff addressed this issue immediately. The night manager on duty maybe needs to improve in terms of safety and handling guests’ concerns at night. Nevertheless, we commend the hostel manager, Daniel and for taking action and addressing our concerns. This is not just for us but for future guests as well, and for his business."

The large, fully self-contained two-bedroom Art Deco apartment is in the perfect location. It is situated on the 1st floor of our grand 1920s Coogee residence with its original features and is only a 5-minute walk to the beach, shops and cafes.
The apartment is perfect for couples, working professionals and families with teenage children.
It also has high ornate ceilings, timber oak herringbone flooring, a modern mosaic bathroom, a large eat-in kitchen, a separate sun-drenched office, and fully air-conditioned bedrooms.

The stairs from the main bedroom lead down to a lush landscaped tropical garden with outdoor dining, lounge and shower.

We, the owners, live on the ground floor of the building and are always available if needed.

Please note that we have a large, friendly, “handsome” dog who lives with us and frequents the garden.

The Sun drenched terrace with dining table is on the downstairs mezzanine level. The landscaped tropical garden downstairs is a shared space with our family and dog and offers perfect outdoor living additions to the apartment.

Coogee is a dream location. It has a village atmosphere, and we love it, trees, ocean and ocean baths.
Getting around is easy with plenty of public transport.

Kookaburra Beach House is a warm and friendly family atmosphere; it offers privacy and independence within a lovely family home. Guests feel at ease knowing that we live within the same building and are on call for their needs.
The apt is on the top floor, so there are stairs - approximately 35 in total from street level, so not suitable for persons who have mobility or health problems.

Kookaburra Down Under is situated in a grand 1920's Coogee mansion. The very spacious and eclectic studio apartment has just been renovated and offers guests a unique space to enjoy whilst holidaying in Coogee.

The apt is approximately 60 sq metres and is surrounded in thick sandstone walls that have been hand rendered to replicate a Greek hideaway.

Kookaburra Down Under offers a very comfortable king size bed with a cosy feathered mattress topper and feathered pillows.
The king bed can be split into 2 long single beds offering a great space for friends who are travelling together.

The walk in bathroom is spacious, easily accessible and designed to suit all age groups. Quality brass finishings with a marble basin are accentuated by a vintage sewing machine base and vintage designed tiles.

The kitchen is well equipped for travellers who may want to have extended stays. There is an Espresso machine , hot plate , hot pot , toaster , sandwich maker , cookbooks , fridge and microwave and a well stocked pantry.
Also within the apartment is a laundry with washing machine and second toilet.

The location is perfect and is located only 2 minutes walk to the beach, shops
, cafes and transport.

A few steps outside and you are on a sun -drenched terrace with dining table and chairs. The terrace overlooks Coogee Bay Road so there are water views and it is a great spot for fireworks on New Years Eve. The terrace is shared with my family.

There is no view, 3. however you can use the brilliant deck, above the street level, for your outdoor space as well as a lush back garden. The deck is screened by palms, swept by ocean breezes; an outdoor living room w a glimpse of the sea and the chatter of local birds (rainbow lorikeets, I’m looking at you). It’s also a place to chat w your hosts and other guests which I appreciated as a solo traveler. Tracy is a laid back, responsive and helpful host who lives with her family on the floor above (you will hear footsteps - human and canine.) If you experience an issue during your stay, contact us immediately via email or sms contact details provided to you in your welcome arrival notes. We will attempt to remedy the issue.
We will not consider any compensation unless we have been afforded the opportunity to rectify the issue.

PROHIBITED PARTIES, FUNCTIONS AND GATHERINGS

Properties are offered for private purposes only.
Parties, functions and gatherings involving persons who are not permitted to occupy the property are strictly prohibited. If Hotelesque forms the view that an unauthorized party, function or gathering is taking (or has taken) place it will result in the immediate termination of booking and no refunds will be provided. We reserves rights to appoint security guards or other appropriately qualified persons to enforce evictions and advise police if it believes that it is necessary to do so.
A penalty fee of $1000 will also be charged.

NUMBER OF GUESTS

The number of guests occupying the property must not exceed the number stated in the booking confirmation. If an excess number of persons have occupied, attended or otherwise used the property then it will result in the immediate termination of booking and no refunds will be provided.

NOISE

Noise complaints are serious. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10 pm and 8 am as most of our properties are situated in urban locations which are noise sensitive.
If you or any other guest fail to take appropriate action following a noise complaint, you may be asked to leave the property immediately which can result in an eviction and or loss of bond or both.

INTERNET

Internet connectivity is provided at the property as a service to guests, however uninterrupted and / or high speed connections cannot always be guaranteed. Hotelesque is not responsible for any loss of amenity or any other loss if internet services are unavailable or connectivity is otherwise unsatisfactory during your stay.
We are also not responsible for diagnosing or fixing any connectivity or other issues with a guest’s computer or other devices. If required to attend the property to assist with such matters, additional call out fee of $80 per hour will be payable Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).

CHECK OUT

The Property is to be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure unless prior arrangements are made. Failure to vacate at the required time will incur a penalty equivalent to $80 per half hour after 11.00am (Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).

CLEANING

It is a requirement that the property is returned in a clean condition. Your rental includes a general clean however if there is excess cleaning, we charge an additional fees. Additional cleaning includes but is not limited to dirty dishes, rubbish not being removed to outside bins, refrigerators not cleared of food, stained linen, BBQ not cleaned or food and drink stains on tables and sofas.
Excess cleaning fee is charge at $80 per half hour (Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).

RUBBISH

Upon departure all rubbish inside must be placed into the outside council bins. If it is bin night during your stay, please ensure the bins are placed out on the street. The bin night for your property is advised in your welcome notes. You will be charged for the removal of excess rubbish left at the property or if the garbage bin is not put out on bin night as requested. Excess rubbish removal fee is $150 per load of excess rubbish.

LOSS & DAMAGE

Any damage, breakage or theft is the guest’s responsibility during their stay and if anything is noted by our team as missing or broken it will be charged against the security deposit. Should you discover any damage or breakage when you arrive or during your stay, please advise us immediately and send a photo.

Charges for out of hours lockouts after 5:00 pm or anytime on weekends or public holidays are as follows

SMOKING

Smoking inside and outside of the house is strictly prohibited. If is determined that there has been smoking inside the property the following penalties apply: $1000 penalty plus costs to rectify the property. Cost to rectify includes any lost nights of future bookings due to the rectification process.

SECURITY

To prevent theft of or damage to furnishings or your personal property, all doors and windows need to be closed and locked when you leave the property during your stay and upon departure. Should you not be able to secure the property you should contact us immediately.

PETS

Pets are welcome at our ‘pet friendly’ properties where your request is approved prior to arrival.

If evidence of a pet is discovered without approval, or at a non-pet friendly property you will be charged for steam cleaning of carpets, furniture and/or mess left by the pet.
If you have your pet with you, it is expected that a few simple rules are followed:

• Any mess, including outdoors, must be wrapped, and placed in outside bins
• Pet bedding must be supplied by guest except where noted
• If you are lucky enough to be at a property that allows your pet inside, please restrict it to the hard floor areas and do not allow it onto furniture or into bedrooms
• You agree to pay for any damage
• No cats allowed
• Pets are not left unattended in a property
• Barking causing disturbances may result in a guest being ask to leave
The following charges apply to pet approved stays
$300 for a up to 3 bedroom property and
$450 for a property larger than 3 bedrooms or a penthouse.

KEYS

Loss keys or remote controls are to be reported immediately. Additional charges apply for key replacement. Cost of replacement will vary depending on the type of key lost. As a guide see the following:
Normal keys $50, Security keys $200, Garage remotes / Security swipes $300. Change of locks as quoted by Locksmith.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

Travel Insurance is not included: Guests are encouraged to consider taking out Travel Insurance to mitigate any losses that may be incurred. Travel Insurance can include cover for certain events out of your control such as unexpected incidents or accidents as well as cancellations and delays caused by inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

LOST PROPERTY

We will contact you if we discover Items left behind. If not claimed within 14 days, items will be disposed of. We can arrange to forward to you any items left behind. There is a handling fee of $75 plus postage. This amount it will be charged to the card on file or taken from your security deposit.

FURNITURE

Furniture should not be moved around the house and utensils, crockery etc. not to be removed from the premises. You will be liable for any damage caused from the moving of furniture and bond charged accordingly. To return rugs or furniture to the correct position will be quoted.

FIREPLACES/BBQ

Fireplaces/BBQ’s are to be operated by guests over the age of 18 only and are operated at the Guests’ own risks. Guests will be held liable for any damage caused by incorrect use. If using a gas/wood fire/BBQ guests will ensure the fire/gas is directly supervised by an adult when in use and switched off whenever unattended or when leaving the property even for short periods.

LIFTS

Lifts can only be operated by adults.

EQUIPMENT

Hotelesque and/or the owner do not accept liability or loss caused by failure of equipment and/or services out of our control, including, but not limited to, water, electricity, gas, and internet. In the event of a failure, the guest should notify us in the first instance. We will provide best endeavors to have the issue rectified immediately, however if the issue is not constituted as an emergency as determined by Hotelesque, it may be remedied during business hours and or after the rental period. Refunds due to failure of equipment will be at Hotelesque's discretion.

PESTS AND INSECTS

All properties are maintained and cleaned regularly, however, pests and insects are common in urban areas. Hotelesque and/or the owner do not accept liability for the unfortunate or seasonal visits of any pests or insects including, but not limited to; rodents, insects, cockroaches and spiders.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES AND OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOR

Use of the property for any criminal activity (including illegal usage of internet services provided) is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination without refund and will be referred to law enforcement services for potential prosecution.

When you're hungry in the area we have great cuisine options such as Thai, Italian, Japanese, Vietnamese, South American, casual "Chish and Fips", Australian fusion and much more. Out of all the bars, Coogee Pavilion pub is currently one of the most popular Sydney hotspots "to be seen" at, ideal for cocktails overlooking the beach. Everything is accessible within minutes by foot. If you like walking one of the highlights of the area is the magnificent Coogee to Bondi Coastal Walk, with a number of beaches en-route and great views. It takes a leisurely 2 hours in one direction, but you could stop at any of the beaches on the way and return from there. If you walk all the way to the famous (but more crowded and less relaxing) Bondi Beach you could take public transport back, or just enjoy the whole day out and walk in both directions with as many stops as you want. On another day you could walk along the coast in the opposite direction to Maroubra Beach. After a few walks if you're still feeling energetic you could play tennis at the local courts, or have a more relaxing game of bare foot lawn bowls with a cold beer in hand. Both activities are also minutes away. If you love the water and want a change from swimming at Coogee Beach you could take a 15minute stroll to Clovelly Beach where we have great snorkelling. On the not so sunny days, take a bus to the city (15mins to Central Station) from where you can connect to any train stop, or stay on the bus a few minutes longer to centre point with all the world's high end fashion stores, or the famous opera house, the rocks, the harbour bridge or other sightseeing. All easily accessible from Coogee.

Getting around
Whether you are visiting for business or sightseeing, the Coogee neighbourhood offers you the best of two worlds, firstly it's a great place to relax near the beach, and secondly it gives you easy access to the Sydney City Centre for business or sight seeing. The advantage being at our location is that you have the comfort of being minutes to the city yet you are able to retreat back to a prime location with quiet and relaxing surroundings alongside a popular beach and fresh sea air. The city centre is 15 minutes away by car, Sydney's Central Train Station is 16mins away on the local bus (+3mins for a diff route) and our bus stops are minutes away. We can provide a travel card for you to use on the public transport. An uber or taxi to the domestic airport takes just 20minutes or +5mins for international. Many Uber drivers service the Coogee area, as well as taxis. We can even offer a personal airport shuttle in a luxury car for a small fee. We can provide maps for walking in the area (including the lovely coastal walk), location of bus stops and instructions on how to use the public transport.

Other things to note
Just note it's an 8 minute walk down to Coogee Bay Road restaurants, but when returning a small portion (about three minutes of the walk) is on a reasonably inclined hill, so it's not suitable for the elderly or very unfit.

We loved the large balcony with the stacker doors to soak up the sun and fresh air. It was walking distance to the large variety of decadent cafes/restaurants and beach, which was a big bonus as trying to find car parking near the accommodation was often tricky - noting there is no on-site parking available, the parking arrangement is street parking where ever you can find a spot, and 2hr time limits apply during the day. The communication from the host was good and we would highly recommend overall."

Our lovely apartment is quietly located at the southern end of Coogee Beach about 100 metres from the beach, cafes, bars and restaurants. We are situated directly opposite parkland and the ocean.
The apartment is on the first floor of a small building with lift acess. There is parking for one small to medium car and lots of street parking. The unit has everything you need for a wonderful beach holiday.
There are two large bedrooms, one with a king bed (or two singles) and one with a queen bed. The bathroom has a shower and separate bath.
The kitchen is fully equipped with nespresso coffee machine and microwave, stove and cooktop and dishwasher. In the laundry we have a front loader washing machine and clothes dryer.
Although we do not live locally, our adult children live close by for any urgent matters, but we are just a phone call away.

Coogee Beach is a beautiful safe beach just 30 mins from the hearT of the Sydney CBD located between Bondi and Maroubra Beaches. It is a smaller beach and very safe for children with two ocean pools including the famous Wylies Baths. Coogee has a lovely café society together with restaurants and fasionable "gastro pubs".
The famous ocean walk from Bondi to Maroubra along the waters edge and cliffs is right on the doorstep.

Local buses run regularly from Coogee to the City.
New South Wales University and Prince of Wales Hospital are both just 10 minutes drive from our unit.

- "Stayed here for just under 3 months. Everything was fantastic. Great size court yard with a lush garden. Parking in Coogee is pretty hard to find a spot but the property management arranged at Woolworths undercover. Was only a couple of minutes walk so not an issue really. A few stairs to walk up each day but great exercise and location to cafés , beach, bars and restaurants. Top building managers and very helpful. Thanks very much !"

My gorgeous little two bedroom unit is only five minutes walk from beautiful Coogee beach and all of its cool cafes, bars and restaurants and also close to The Spot entertainment precinct and Randwick shops and racecourse. It also has a great little balcony and sunny communal garden for relaxing.

The space
Make yourself at home with full use of my kitchen, barbecue on the balcony and sunny communal garden out the back. There is also a washing machine in the bathroom which guests can use. The kitchen is newly renovated with dishwasher and gas cooktop and oven.
