Kookaburra Beach House has recently had a stylish makeover!!
The apartment has been updated and stylised into a warm and striking beachside apt.
The large, fully self-contained two-bedroom Art Deco apartment is in the perfect location. It is situated on the 1st floor of our grand 1920s Coogee residence with its original features and is only a 5-minute walk to the beach, shops and cafes.
The apartment is perfect for couples, working professionals and families with teenage children.
It also has high ornate ceilings, timber oak herringbone flooring, a modern mosaic bathroom, a large eat-in kitchen, a separate sun-drenched office, and fully air-conditioned bedrooms.
The stairs from the main bedroom lead down to a lush landscaped tropical garden with outdoor dining, lounge and shower.
We, the owners, live on the ground floor of the building and are always available if needed.
Please note that we have a large, friendly, “handsome” dog who lives with us and frequents the garden.

Kookaburra Beach House is a warm and friendly family atmosphere; it offers privacy and independence within a lovely family home. Guests feel at ease knowing that we live within the same building and are on call for their needs.
The apt is on the top floor, so there are stairs - approximately 35 in total from street level, so not suitable for persons who have mobility or health problems.

Kookaburra Down Under is situated in a grand 1920's Coogee mansion. The very spacious and eclectic studio apartment has just been renovated and offers guests a unique space to enjoy whilst holidaying in Coogee.
The apt is approximately 60 sq metres and is surrounded in thick sandstone walls that have been hand rendered to replicate a Greek hideaway.
Kookaburra Down Under offers a very comfortable king size bed with a cosy feathered mattress topper and feathered pillows.
The king bed can be split into 2 long single beds offering a great space for friends who are travelling together.
The walk in bathroom is spacious, easily accessible and designed to suit all age groups. Quality brass finishings with a marble basin are accentuated by a vintage sewing machine base and vintage designed tiles.
The kitchen is well equipped for travellers who may want to have extended stays. There is an Espresso machine , hot plate , hot pot , toaster , sandwich maker , cookbooks , fridge and microwave and a well stocked pantry.
Also within the apartment is a laundry with washing machine and second toilet.
The location is perfect and is located only 2 minutes walk to the beach, shops
, cafes and transport.
A few steps outside and you are on a sun -drenched terrace with dining table and chairs. The terrace overlooks Coogee Bay Road so there are water views and it is a great spot for fireworks on New Years Eve. The terrace is shared with my family.

- "This is a comfortable space in a great location. It’s convenient to the beach, restaurants and public transport. Tracy and Deyan were wonderful hosts. Recommend the place highly." - "Three things make Kookaburra Down Under a standout. 1. The location so close to Coogee’s beach, ocean baths, restaurants and cafes. 2. The cool calm privacy of the large ground floor flat with its zoned lighting that spotlights spaces as if you had separate rooms. The flat’s whitewashed walls made me feel as if I was in a villa in the Greek isles. There is no view, 3. however you can use the brilliant deck, above the street level, for your outdoor space as well as a lush back garden. The deck is screened by palms, swept by ocean breezes; an outdoor living room w a glimpse of the sea and the chatter of local birds (rainbow lorikeets, I’m looking at you). It’s also a place to chat w your hosts and other guests which I appreciated as a solo traveler. Tracy is a laid back, responsive and helpful host who lives with her family on the floor above (you will hear footsteps - human and canine.) The flat’s kitchen is exceptionally well equipped w a good starter pantry. The bathroom is big enough to be a bedroom (as it once was) and for couples, the laundry has a second sink and toilet. I slept well in the huge king bed. The flat looks just like the photos but they don’t completely convey how very comfortable you will be here."

ISSUES DURING YOUR STAY
If you experience an issue during your stay, contact us immediately via email or sms contact details provided to you in your welcome arrival notes. We will attempt to remedy the issue.
We will not consider any compensation unless we have been afforded the opportunity to rectify the issue.
PROHIBITED PARTIES, FUNCTIONS AND GATHERINGS
Properties are offered for private purposes only.
Parties, functions and gatherings involving persons who are not permitted to occupy the property are strictly prohibited. If Hotelesque forms the view that an unauthorized party, function or gathering is taking (or has taken) place it will result in the immediate termination of booking and no refunds will be provided. We reserves rights to appoint security guards or other appropriately qualified persons to enforce evictions and advise police if it believes that it is necessary to do so.
A penalty fee of $1000 will also be charged.
NUMBER OF GUESTS
The number of guests occupying the property must not exceed the number stated in the booking confirmation. If an excess number of persons have occupied, attended or otherwise used the property then it will result in the immediate termination of booking and no refunds will be provided.
NOISE
Noise complaints are serious. Noise audible outside the property is prohibited between 10 pm and 8 am as most of our properties are situated in urban locations which are noise sensitive.
If you or any other guest fail to take appropriate action following a noise complaint, you may be asked to leave the property immediately which can result in an eviction and or loss of bond or both.
INTERNET
Internet connectivity is provided at the property as a service to guests, however uninterrupted and / or high speed connections cannot always be guaranteed. Hotelesque is not responsible for any loss of amenity or any other loss if internet services are unavailable or connectivity is otherwise unsatisfactory during your stay.
We are also not responsible for diagnosing or fixing any connectivity or other issues with a guest’s computer or other devices. If required to attend the property to assist with such matters, additional call out fee of $80 per hour will be payable Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).
CHECK OUT
The Property is to be vacated by 11.00am on the day of departure unless prior arrangements are made. Failure to vacate at the required time will incur a penalty equivalent to $80 per half hour after 11.00am (Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).
CLEANING
It is a requirement that the property is returned in a clean condition. Your rental includes a general clean however if there is excess cleaning, we charge an additional fees. Additional cleaning includes but is not limited to dirty dishes, rubbish not being removed to outside bins, refrigerators not cleared of food, stained linen, BBQ not cleaned or food and drink stains on tables and sofas.
Excess cleaning fee is charge at $80 per half hour (Half hour is calculated on 15 minute intervals).
RUBBISH
Upon departure all rubbish inside must be placed into the outside council bins. If it is bin night during your stay, please ensure the bins are placed out on the street. The bin night for your property is advised in your welcome notes. You will be charged for the removal of excess rubbish left at the property or if the garbage bin is not put out on bin night as requested. Excess rubbish removal fee is $150 per load of excess rubbish.
LOSS & DAMAGE
Any damage, breakage or theft is the guest’s responsibility during their stay and if anything is noted by our team as missing or broken it will be charged against the security deposit. Should you discover any damage or breakage when you arrive or during your stay, please advise us immediately and send a photo.

Charges for out of hours lockouts after 5:00 pm or anytime on weekends or public holidays are as follows

We will attend the office and place keys in the office letterbox for you to pick up within 2 to 3 hours and return within 24 hours to avoid additional charges to those outlined above.
SMOKING
Smoking inside and outside of the house is strictly prohibited. If is determined that there has been smoking inside the property the following penalties apply: $1000 penalty plus costs to rectify the property. Cost to rectify includes any lost nights of future bookings due to the rectification process.
SECURITY
To prevent theft of or damage to furnishings or your personal property, all doors and windows need to be closed and locked when you leave the property during your stay and upon departure. Should you not be able to secure the property you should contact us immediately.
PETS
Pets are welcome at our ‘pet friendly’ properties where your request is approved prior to arrival.
If evidence of a pet is discovered without approval, or at a non-pet friendly property you will be charged for steam cleaning of carpets, furniture and/or mess left by the pet.
If you have your pet with you, it is expected that a few simple rules are followed:
• Any mess, including outdoors, must be wrapped, and placed in outside bins
• Pet bedding must be supplied by guest except where noted
• If you are lucky enough to be at a property that allows your pet inside, please restrict it to the hard floor areas and do not allow it onto furniture or into bedrooms
• You agree to pay for any damage
• No cats allowed
• Pets are not left unattended in a property
• Barking causing disturbances may result in a guest being ask to leave
The following charges apply to pet approved stays
$300 for a up to 3 bedroom property and
$450 for a property larger than 3 bedrooms or a penthouse.
KEYS
Loss keys or remote controls are to be reported immediately. Additional charges apply for key replacement. Cost of replacement will vary depending on the type of key lost. As a guide see the following:
Normal keys $50, Security keys $200, Garage remotes / Security swipes $300. Change of locks as quoted by Locksmith.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
Travel Insurance is not included: Guests are encouraged to consider taking out Travel Insurance to mitigate any losses that may be incurred. Travel Insurance can include cover for certain events out of your control such as unexpected incidents or accidents as well as cancellations and delays caused by inclement weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
LOST PROPERTY
We will contact you if we discover Items left behind. If not claimed within 14 days, items will be disposed of. We can arrange to forward to you any items left behind. There is a handling fee of $75 plus postage. This amount it will be charged to the card on file or taken from your security deposit.
FURNITURE
Furniture should not be moved around the house and utensils, crockery etc. not to be removed from the premises. You will be liable for any damage caused from the moving of furniture and bond charged accordingly. To return rugs or furniture to the correct position will be quoted.
FIREPLACES/BBQ
Fireplaces/BBQ’s are to be operated by guests over the age of 18 only and are operated at the Guests’ own risks. Guests will be held liable for any damage caused by incorrect use. If using a gas/wood fire/BBQ guests will ensure the fire/gas is directly supervised by an adult when in use and switched off whenever unattended or when leaving the property even for short periods.
LIFTS
Lifts can only be operated by adults.
EQUIPMENT
Hotelesque and/or the owner do not accept liability or loss caused by failure of equipment and/or services out of our control, including, but not limited to, water, electricity, gas, and internet. In the event of a failure, the guest should notify us in the first instance. We will provide best endeavors to have the issue rectified immediately, however if the issue is not constituted as an emergency as determined by Hotelesque, it may be remedied during business hours and or after the rental period. Refunds due to failure of equipment will be at Hotelesque's discretion.
PESTS AND INSECTS
All properties are maintained and cleaned regularly, however, pests and insects are common in urban areas. Hotelesque and/or the owner do not accept liability for the unfortunate or seasonal visits of any pests or insects including, but not limited to; rodents, insects, cockroaches and spiders.
CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES AND OFFENSIVE BEHAVIOR
Use of the property for any criminal activity (including illegal usage of internet services provided) is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination without refund and will be referred to law enforcement services for potential prosecution.

Perfect for a summer holiday, this stylish 2-bedroom penthouse is a 2 minute walk to Coogee Beach.
Close enough to all that Coogee has to offer but tucked away in your own little piece of seclusion, a range of fine dining options and the beach are mere footsteps away. Try Farinha Pizzas e Massa's Restaurant and many more just around the corner.
Head along the famous Eastern Suburbs coastal walk down to Coogee Beach where you can dine at your pick of cafe along Coogee Bay road or pick up supplies from Woolworths supermarket if you'd rather cook up a feast at home.
If you happen to visit on New Years Eve enjoy great views of the Coogee fireworks from Blenheim Park, a few minutes up the road.
With kids, walk with them to a fenced children's playground which is located on the perimeter of the oval on the corner of Brook and Dolphin Streets.

The one-bedroom property has a generous king size bed, and ensuite with separate shower and bathtub for a relaxing soak. The understated home evokes the coast with nautical decor and neutral tones, which act as a reminder the beach is just across the road!
The open plan kitchen, living and dining area are modern and bright and equipped with all you need for a short or long-term stay. Read or write at the nearby study nook, whilst peeking outdoors for a glimpse of the sea.
The lounge room has an armchair and two-seater sofa with TV for cosy nights where you indulge with a good book or movie. The dining table is an idyllic spot to sit in all weather conditions for a meal with a spectacular ocean view. From here, glass doors open to your own private balcony, where you can relax and unwind whilst taking in breathtaking views of turquoise blue waters and the lush green park. This is the spot to sit back with a glass of wine and some cheese and chocolate, accompanied by fresh ocean air and sounds of the sea.

- "We had a great 4 night stay at the Coogee Beachside Hideaway. The place was well appointed, very clean and modern. We loved the large balcony with the stacker doors to soak up the sun and fresh air. It was walking distance to the large variety of decadent cafes/restaurants and beach, which was a big bonus as trying to find car parking near the accommodation was often tricky - noting there is no on-site parking available, the parking arrangement is street parking where ever you can find a spot, and 2hr time limits apply during the day. The communication from the host was good and we would highly recommend overall."

Our lovely apartment is quietly located at the southern end of Coogee Beach about 100 metres from the beach, cafes, bars and restaurants. We are situated directly opposite parkland and the ocean.
The apartment is on the first floor of a small building with lift acess. There is parking for one small to medium car and lots of street parking. The unit has everything you need for a wonderful beach holiday.
There are two large bedrooms, one with a king bed (or two singles) and one with a queen bed. The bathroom has a shower and separate bath.
The kitchen is fully equipped with nespresso coffee machine and microwave, stove and cooktop and dishwasher. In the laundry we have a front loader washing machine and clothes dryer.
Although we do not live locally, our adult children live close by for any urgent matters, but we are just a phone call away.
Coogee Beach is a beautiful safe beach just 30 mins from the hearT of the Sydney CBD located between Bondi and Maroubra Beaches. It is a smaller beach and very safe for children with two ocean pools including the famous Wylies Baths. Coogee has a lovely café society together with restaurants and fasionable "gastro pubs".
The famous ocean walk from Bondi to Maroubra along the waters edge and cliffs is right on the doorstep.
Local buses run regularly from Coogee to the City.
New South Wales University and Prince of Wales Hospital are both just 10 minutes drive from our unit.

Apartment 1 gives you a room to breathe freely. It`s spacious with big sliding door that connects the living/dining room to the spacious backyard. The open plan creates a lot of room to move around and keep your belonging out of the way. It`s fully airconditioned. The blinds use a remote to operate and it gives you complete privacy when you want it.
We provide everything you need for your stay - the appliances, include a washing machine and dryer, dishwasher, full kitchen, cutleries, food containers, fresh towels and linen, toiletries, and small treats such as jam, tea, coffee, etc.
Soon we will have bicycles that are free to use for our guests during their stay.
When the guest is booked, we`ll email the invitation to register for a digital lock code on Salto app. Once it`s done, we will send the PIN number, which will give the guest access to the apartment and the building from the check-in date and time throughout their stay.
