We have the beautiful Mandurah Country Golf Club just minutes behind us, where there are lots of kangaroos and the most fabulous greens and fairways. Meadow Springs Golf Course is only 8 minutes drive for a 36 hole course or The Cut is approximately 16 minutes south and also a world class Links Course.

There is a cycle track in front where you can cycle south along the beach path all the way to Miami Beach along the ocean front or around the river mouth and into Mandurah Terrace and the board walk for a meal or some shopping. This is a great ride and if you follow the ocean and the river around, it is very scenic going through the wetlands. You can continue around the Marina and into the northern beaches, the yacht and fishing clubs and Marina Quays and continue your ride right up to Golden Bay along the ocean front. Bringing your bikes is wonderful entertainment and exercise for all - don't forget your helmets. If you don't have a bike then don't worry, we can provide you with 2 (not so new)bikes for you to enjoy and explore. There is a large skate park in Halls Head for the kids as well as mini golf and often a circus or fair on the large park. Excellent beach fishing abounds right in front or you can head around into the river and the estuary for whitting, mullet, herring and blue manner crabs when they are in season. Yes we even have wineries, you will pass one on your way from Perth into Mandurah and if you continue south along the Old Coast Road you will find several. Halls Head is just 20 minutes from Lake Clifton and the Stramadolites. You will also see lots of local wildlife if you are there in the later part of the day.

A trip to Pinjarrah Bird Park or zoo is well worth a visit and you can see most of Australia's parrots and other variety of birds. Take a picnic lunch and enjoy the Murray River which flows through the town.
Nothing beats a long walk along a white sandy beach. Walk around and have a coffee or take a dip in the beautiful Indian Ocean. Bring your snorkle gear and watch the fish or maybe the dolphins or an occassional seal swim by. Wind surfing, surfing or body boarding are all available on the right days - depending on the wind and the wave.
Alternatively, just lay back and read agood book on the front deck or in the rear garden court yard. Day beds and chairs are there for your comfort.
Down town offers a full range of restaurants from Italian to Asian. Fresh fish abounds or perhaps you are after a pub lunch. Try M on the Point in the Marina area where you can get a great lunch for a very reasonable price with a view of Mandurah Bridge and the town.
A river cruise is well worth the time or a trip to Yunderup Canals on a hire boat or pontoon for the more adventurous sigtts.
Dwellingup is an easy trip to the tall timber forrest regions or Bunbury is just 1 hour south or Busselton & Margaret River is just 2 hours south making a day trip within easy reach.
The Peel Region has several well know wineries that are well worth a visit or the Peel Estuary offers numerous on water experiences from boat cruises to boat hire.
Crabbing is a fun thing to do and crab nets can be hired or scoop nets available FREE, very entertaining. Fresh blue manna crabbs are readily available from several local fresh fish shops or local fishermen if the challenge of catching your own is too daunting. Fresh crab and salad with beautiful Miami Bakery fresh bread and a bottle of cool crisp local wine on the deck of the Wedge overlooking the ocean waves is perfect. It doesn't get better than this.
What ever you decide, Mandurah is only 1 hour away from the city of Perth & Fremantle so everything is within an easy day trip.

While the indoors is absolutely delightful and well-equipped for maximum comfort, you’ll be spending most of your time outside by the river, crabbing, fishing or kayaking, or cooking on the BBQ on the veranda. It’s truly idyllic!

The setting is superb. Dolphins and pelicans are your local visitors and at night time a friendly possum or two. North Yunderup is a sleepy nest and you’ll wonder at the peace and tranquillity. There are some local pubs and restaurants on the opposite side of the river and Pinjarra is a 10 minute drive where you’ll find a cafe, bakery, Redcliffe’s restaurant and Coles, as well as the golf course and Ranger Red’s Zoo and Conservation Park.

Mandurah is a 20 minute drive away with large shopping outlets and an array of cafes and restaurants. The beaches along this stretch of coast are stunning and well worth a visit. There are plenty of local nature walks as well as the historic Coopers Mill to explore. South Yunderup also offers an amazing kids adventure playground and supermarket.

But you honestly will not want to leave the property once you arrive, River Cottage is so idyllic. Don’t pass this one by!

We’re happy to welcome your pet, but this must be approved in advance. A separate non-refundable fee of $115 per pet applies and is payable through our guest portal. Pets are preferred to stay outside. If they are inside, they must be kept off all furniture and beds.

Please note there are outside perimeter security cameras at the property. These are in place for both your security and the property. The cameras must not be removed, covered, or adjusted at any time.

Once your booking is confirmed, you will be directed to our guest app. Prior to check-in, you will be required to complete an identity check by scanning your licence/passport and credit card before being provided with your arrival instructions. This provides security for the owners of the property so they are comfortable that you are who you say you are and you have the documents to prove it (similar to a hotel check-in procedure). We do not charge your card, nor does it get stored by our system, and you are welcome to block out some numbers, but please note that our Guest App has the highest level of PCI compliance available. This process is necessary due to the fact that we have a self-check-in system.

We have 2 bedrooms, both have Queen Beds in them. There is a seperate bathroom and a separate toilet for both of these bedrooms. Both rooms are available for $75/night each. If one bedroom is booked the bathroom & toilet are solely yours. We supply a light Continental Breakfast of Cereal/Toast/Tea & Coffee. This is usually eaten on the Patio overlooking the water.

The space
Bedrooms are quiet and comfortable. Seperate Bathroom is next door and is spacious and clean. We have a lovely outdoor area on the canal and often see dolphins; egrets; swans; pelicans; shags; ducks etc. South Yunderup is a nice easy stop between Perth (70 kms) & Bunbury which is only 100 kms from here.

South Yunderup has a very limited local bus service on week days which connects to the Mandurah Train Station. If necessary We can arrange to pick guests up from the Station. A fee may be charged for this service. There is plenty of space for parking in our driveway. There is lots to see and do in the surrounding areas so it is recommended to have your own transport.

We are located on the Canal which can be used for swimming; kayaking; fishing; crabbing (in season). We have two Finn kayaks available for use and a few bicycles which you are welcome to use. The Sandy Cove Tavern is a two minute walk away which does great meals as well. Plus we have another two restaurants which come well recommended and both again only a two minute walk. Also there are tennis courts available for hire along with a bowling club that has a bar. Other eateries include Ravenswood Hotel, Jetty’s Bar & Grill and A local cafe called Pelicans which is fabulous for breakfast.

With regards to breakfast we are totally flexible. You are welcome to our facilities to make your own. Our price of $75 includes a light continental breakfast. There are also a couple of local cafes that are on the river and offer a good breakfast and meals.

The guest rooms have windows facing the water and generous sized built in robes. Guests have their own bathroom and toilet. They are welcome to use the kitchen, meal/dining and living room which all have view to the canal and well-kept garden.

The space
Very central location, you can leave the car behind and go for a drink, swim or beautiful walk. Townhouse has 2 levels. Guest bedroom is on the ground floor for 2 people. Kitchenette has fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, dishwashing liquid, tea towels. Tea, instant coffee, milk and sugar provided..
There is no dishwasher, in the house. Laundry services is not included. Laundromat is a short walk from the place. Due to the house design, there is little living/dining space for guests outside the bedroom.
There is another bedroom downstairs next to yours occupied by my adult daughter who works full-time.
Another family members lives upstairs with our cat Boris. Boris is very independent old cat who would probably ignore you.
There is free off street parking around whare you can park your car.
Please be aware that we have neighbours in a close proximity, hence some house noises can be heard, and occasional cooking for short time.
The air conditioning is not in the rooms, but it can be turned on in a very hot day from upstairs and place would feel cooler. Stand alone fans are in the room for your convenience.

My mother Nina lives upstairs. My adult daughter Yulia lives in the ground floor bedroom in a close proximity from your bedroom. Yulia works full-time and you wouldn't see her often.
Nina speaks limited English, she is very friendly and helpful. She is a Co- host with me. I often meet and greet my guests in person as well as visiting for a friendly chat. I am available on my phone and in person if the guests have any questions.

The Colonial style home is situated in a quiet secluded location, just a stone's throw from the water's edge.
In the evening selected areas and trees are illuminated which adds to the garden's charm. You may see one of our local possums or be delighted when birds visit the veranda.

Guests have access to the entire east wing which is separate from the rest of the house. Entry is via the main entrance which opens to a large reception area that doubles as a dining room.

To left is the bedroom with an ensuite with a Spa and kitchen nook. Please note that the Kitchen Nook is a small area suitable for preparing snacks and light meals. It does not have a cooktop or oven Please read the full list of amenities to ensure your needs are met.

To the right guests have access to a huge lounge room. In this area, you can relax, read a book, play pool or just take in the stunning view of the river.

From the lounge room, you can access the veranda and enjoy an additional outdoor lounge and dining location. The BBQ facilities can also be found here. The veranda has a pull-over privacy screen should you wish to use it.

The gardens are a shared area. Feel free to enjoy a walk around, and maybe feed the ducks or fish from the private jetty.
