Our house is close to the mall, natural foods store, library, post office and about 10 min walk to the beach or Devils Lake. You’ll love the garden and sunny deck mostly sheltered from wind, the comfy bedroom with attached private bath, shared kitchen and living/dining in our laid-back one level home in the middle of town. Our place is good for couples and solo travelers. Central location makes it a great home base and we love to share local tips!

Our house is cozy, with both bedrooms close together, but your space is totally private. Your room is just opposite the dining room, with bath attached. There's a comfortable queen bed, individual night stands and reading lamps. High-speed wifi included. Bike travelers are welcome to store their bikes in the garage or behind the house for easy access.

Guest access
You'll have access to all public parts of the house (living, dining, kitchen, utility room) and your private bedroom and bath with locking doors. It's a small house-- so your room is close to ours, but we are quiet and not fussy. You are welcome to cook meals in our kitchen (and store food in the fridge), which is pretty well equipped. Grocery stores are within walking distance. We also have a big garden, so sometimes we'll share homegrown produce depending on the time of year. There's no TV in your room, but you're welcome to use the living room TV, DVD player, and Roku with Netflix, Prime and other channels.

If you're social, we'll be happy to chat with you when we're home, and you can feel free to ask for help any time in person, by text or phone. If you prefer limited interactions, that's ok too but we might exchange hello/goodbye!

Here's the fine print: The Nautilus has no beach view. It is on the backside of our building, and one cannot see the ocean from our condo :(

But step outside 20 paces and the whole panorama of the Oregon coast spreads out before you! Realistically speaking, The Nautilus is great for a short-term stay, but probably not 10-14 days...you will want to see the view!

Also, the bathroom door is 24 inches wide and the spiral stairs are only 20 inches wide and are steep with 9 inch high steps. These could be physical challenges for some, and we want to fully disclose them. Now, go the the beach and enjoy!

Beach access is via 50 gentle stairs (with two handrails) or a paved ramp to drive onto the beach! In fact, during April - Sept, many people like to park their cars on the beach (right below the condo) when the tide is out! But twice a day, the tide rolls in, and clears everybody out!!!

No pets allowed. Please do not ask to bring a favorite animal. It just doesn't work to mix animals, and folks with allergies in our private condo. I cannot host guests with dogs, because I have other guests, who specifically ask me for "allergen-free" rooms. I do not have pet-friendly rooms.

Parking in a beach town is challenging but manageable. We have 11 off-street parking spaces. Some will accommodate large vehicles, others will not. If you are driving a small vehicle, please be considerate and choose a small parking space. Please be aware that a large 4-door truck may find parking in our lot challenging, and you might find it more comfortable to park on a side street.

At check-in, we issue one parking permit for our lot, and vehicles without permits will be subject to towing.

Extra vehicles can find parking on the side streets of 15th and 14th Streets. Please be advised, that Lincoln City writes tickets if vehicles park in their lot across the street between 1-5 a.m.

Bring your own BBQ to enjoy at the beach, or bring some newspaper and kindling to light a campfire on the beach! (The driftwood is often wet and hard to start without dry wood, but burns great once going!)

Other things to note
This condo has the spiral staircase inside, as well as exterior entrance doors to both levels. It is on the back side of our beachfront building, so beach access is as simple as walking down the steps to the beach! As crazy as it sounds, this is a beachfront condo without the view.

No smoking in the condo, or under covered walkways. No pets or companion animals allowed.

Over 800 SF of light-filled living space includes two bedrooms with queen beds and a sleeper sofa. A fully-equipped kitchen, breakfast bar, and dining table make it delightful to eat in. The second bedroom provides a desk for writing or work. A hallway shelf full of books, games, and puzzles. An elevator, a walk-in shower, and the view make it senior-friendly. 93-year-old mom approved!

Siletz Bay has a calm family friendly beach area for kids to wade and swim in the summer. Go clamming, catch crab, fish for Chinook, kayak, or paddle board directly in the bay. Walk towards the ocean for phenomenal rock hunting and more wave action. Look for hidden glass floats along your walk. No luck? Make a float at a nearby glass shop here in the historic Taft area.

Hungry? Stroll down the street to the iconic Mo’s for clam chowder or to the new Pines Food Trucks where you can all try something different. Pelican Brewery is newly opened on the bay with great fish and chips and beer selection. A grocery store is blocks away.

Explore the Lincoln City Outlet mall or art galleries, visit the Chinook Winds Casino, golf at Salishan, drive to Depoe Bay to whale watch, or see nearby Newport’s Oregon Coast Aquarium or historic bayfront.

Visit our vacation rental any time of year! Summer hosts warm sunny days with cool ocean breezes. 4th of July fireworks are at dusk. Winter gives dramatic storms with breaks for beach walks.
