Those staying there helped us contact the owner Eliana and she stated she had no knowledge of the booking and had no options for us. So unable to find anything in Sanford and with the prospect of sleeping in a rented Chevy Malibu we headed to Apopka and finally found a place for the night at 11:00 PM . We ended up staying in Apopka for the duration of our stay in Florida at additional cost to what we had prepaid Mellow Yellow. We contacted Hotels.com and received a refund of our paid amount from last October but we are out the increase in cost that we had to absorb based on the "NOW" booking in Apopka and received no booking credits towards our account. There was never an explanation given to who dropped the ball from either Mellow Yellow Or Hotels.Com. At this point disappointed with both parties, no accountability from Hotels.com and no apology or offer of any kind in compensation ."

Floating Cottage is berthed in the rural Boat Tree Marina, just north of Lake Monroe on the scenic St. Johns River, a river of abundant wildlife and scenic vistas. The marina offers a casual deli and restaurant, bait shop, laundry and pool. The restaurant, Cabana Live, offers a significant discount to cottage guests. There is a pool-side bar associated with the restaurant. Cottage guests may use the pool from morning until the restaurant closes! The constant refrain for our visit was “I can’t believe how peaceful this is!” Not only is it peaceful but it is close enough to the historic downtown area that you can easily walk to lunch, dinner, or the the farmers market a couple blocks away. The living space is one large great room with a beautiful farmhouse table that can fit 10 people comfortably. There is a home theater set up with a 60" curved 4K smart TV and 4K DVD player.. Live TV, Netflix, Disney+, and a collection of DVD movies are available for you to use.

There’s a music nook with a piano, record player and records.

Kitchen:
The kitchen is fully stocked with coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster, plenty of pots and pans.

The Rose Room:
The master bedroom has a king sleep number bed. French doors lead from the bedroom onto a large screened in porch. The master bathroom has a large Jacuzzi bathtub and walk in shower.

The Dogwood Room:
The 2nd bedroom has a queen sized day bed and full size trundle bed. The room is stocked with board games and toys.

The Tulip Room:

The space
I've been fortunate to have traveled the world and my home reflects my expanded world view. I'm also an artist, rock hound, and gardener so there's plenty to see, inside and out. My hand-made daybed is a relaxing spot for lounging, reading, etc. Both the patio and deck feature chairs to expand comfortable access to the outdoors.
PLEASE NOTE: My house is in a suburban setting with background noises typical of such a setting. I live near the SFB airport so you will hear planes. The guest room has its own window unit which you can use for white noise if you are a light sleeper and the vast majority of guests compliment how peaceful it is here.
NOTE: You will have to go through a dog gate between my living and dining room areas.

Guest access
You will have access to your private room (furnished with a mini-fridge, microwave, and K-cup coffee maker), private bathroom in the hallway, and the large dining room area which features a daybed, a large table for eating or spreading out your laptop, etc. THE KITCHEN IS NOT INCLUDED with the exception of using the washer/dryer and the sink to wash the dishes supplied with your room. You are also welcome to store things in my freezer or get ice from there. Downstairs living room and TV access is restricted as this is where I hang out in the evenings. THERE IS NO TV INCLUDED IN THIS LISTING.

During your stay
I'm always working on projects, etc. but I'm glad to chat with you about Sanford, the surrounding area, and what you'd like to do during your stay. Since I am home a lot, I am also conscientious about making sure guests can hang out on their own without me being intrusive. If you want to sit quietly in an armchair looking out on the backyard (a favorite spot for me and guests, too) while you update your social media, just let know. Expressing your desire for quiet time will never hurt my feelings. :-)
