The toilet seat was loose and wouldn't tighten. The skirting boards were dirty and dusty. We found a mouldy sponge under the kitchen cupboard. No toilet roll. No hand wash. Mouldy bathroom. Dirty toilet. Bins hadn't been emptied. Dead woodlice in the bedroom on the floor. Dirty on top of the fridge. Brown bug stains down the bedsheets. No bedsheets on one of the bunk beds. Dirty sticky side table in the living room. Shower wouldn't regulate the temperature. I called the chalet owner several times who ignored me. Now ignoring messages from Expedia regarding a refund. The Tiddler is situated in a small development of holiday homes in the Lighthouse Field behind Hermanus Holidays in Winterton-on-Sea. Inside you'll find an open plan living area, electric fire and Smart TV. There's a dining area which seats four, and a well equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The chalet is decorated tastefully throughout.

There are two comfortable bedrooms. The first has a standard double bed and the second bedroom has two 3' single beds making it a perfect family getaway. The bathroom has a large walk in shower, washbasin and WC. Two dogs are welcome at The Tiddler but please note that the grounds are not enclosed. Dogs are very welcome throughout the property. If they join you on the furniture we do ask that you use the throws provided. The Tiddler has wifi.

Guests at The Tiddler have access to the facilities at Hermanus*, including the outdoor heated swimming pool which is open from late May to early September. It is right next to the childrens' play area and surrounded by a brick wall to keep out the coastal breeze. There is a launderette and plenty of parking on site. The Coach & Horses bar & lounge is at the front of the main Hermanus building with amazing sea views, and is open for drinks and food throughout the week.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Hemsby offers the lost world adventure golf, hursts family fun park, the mega maze, go karting, lifeboat charity shop, a golden Sandy beach to relax and play sandcastles or walk along the coast for miles of scenery, amusements to occupy you for hours, 2 great pubs offering great food and drink and the usual sea side chips, hot dogs, donuts and candy floss.
If you want to travel a bit further afield by car or bus ( bus stop is just outside the main gate ), then Great Yarmouth ( 15 min drive ) offers a pleasure beach full of rides including 4 rollercoasters, the hippodrome circus for all the family, 2 piers with bowling, amusements and well known acts, the Kerridale model village, sea life centre, horse drawn carriage rides along the front, horse racing track and a greyhound racing track and many more things than I can list here.
A bit further takes you to the famous norfolk broads, with day hire boats, broads tour boats, paddle boarding and canoeing , travel on the 9 mile miniature steam train on the bure valley railway from Wroxham, take the children to bewilderwood and trilgby hall wildlife gardens or Africa alive at Lowestoft. Baby seals can be seen on the beaches at blakeney point between June and august, with adult seals all year round. Further on takes you to Cromer (45min drive )which is perfect for catching crabs from the pier and then sheringham ( 50 min drive )with its very tradition town and the chance to travel on a full size steam engine on the north norfolk railway.

This a PET FREE SITE so the children can play on the grassed ares at the back and front of the chalet.

The chalet itself is lovely and modern with a tv dvd . A sofa bed in the front room, which if needed is made up ready with the sheet on and the quilt and pillows made up and laid on the double bed.
In the bathroom , which is fully mirrored on one side. there is a walk in electric shower and the toilet and basin.
The kitchen is well equipped , with fridge freezer , microwave, hob and oven etc. The Electric is operated by a coin meter , £1/£2 coins .
This is a great place from which to start your exploring of the Broads .
Great Yarmouth is a few miles away , approx 7 miles. There is a bus service that runs during season .

Mardle is a modern two bedroom chalet on the Sundowner Holiday park in the seaside village of Newport, Hemsby. It's located in a quiet area, yet walking distance to the beach, amusements, shops and cafes.

Everything has been renovated and redecorated to a high standard. In the living area you'll find two comfortable sofas, a TV, electric fire and a dining table with bench seating for four. The modern kitchen area has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a launderette nearby.

There are two comfortable bedrooms: the first with a standard double size brass bed, and the second with children's 3' bunk beds so therefore the maximum number of adults the chalet sleeps is two. The bathroom has been completely renovated with a walk in shower, washbasin and WC. The chalet is heated and electricity is included.

Outside there's a seating area, and plentiful free parking. Two dogs are welcome at no additional charge and are welcome throughout the chalet. They may join you on the sofa if using the throws provided. There is no wifi on site, but there is full mobile coverage. An EV charger is available to use on site.

Out of all the chalets we've hired in the last 20 years, this was the best. It's been upgraded to a high standard. The shower room was spotless too! not one bit of dirt anywhere, nice fittings and a nice shower. All the rooms are tastefully done with some thought put into the design. The double bed was very comfy ( great mattress ) even small touches like the night time motion sensor lights in the plug sockets are a great help also the towels and bedding look new. The car park is outside the property so it's good to keep an eye on on your car through the kitchen window, if you feel the need. The only annoying thing was, when the wind was strong, some of the facia to the back of the chalet was flapping, you could hear the wind buffeting in the roof. If the owner hasn't been told about this, it wouldn't of been fixed so hopefully now, it will be. This is a great place to stay, you'll not be disapointed. We'll definitely be hiring this beautiful place again. Great host too! very prompt, when booking. Finally, it was great to see the old Seabreeze club open again now called Harleys it's the best place for a drink, ( happy hour ) bingo, karaoke and entertainment. They make you feel very welcome, they are dog friendly, in fact they are the only dog friendly place to go at Sundowner."

. Hemsby is blessed with plenty of amusements and attractions to interest any age group. The village Kingsway area boasts a CO-OP supermaket , Hairdressers , Pharmicist, As well as a good bus service to Great Yarmouth and Martham for people who prefer not to drive. There is an endless range of takeaways and restaurants to serve most tastes in vicinity. The Norfolk broads are easily reachable by car (approx 15mins)

My place is close to the beach. Ten minutes drive to Great Yarmouth.. You’ll love my place because of the peace and tranquility. There are superb views over the adjoining golf course and sand dunes. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). We have a private car park and coin operated electricity meters.

Other things to note
There is a washing machine available on site at a small charge. Pets are welcome at a rate of £25 per week per pet. This can be paid on arrival. Short breaks are not available July, August or September.

Set in a very picturesque part of North Norfolk, Winterton Chalet Valley Estate is a sought after and beautifully maintained holiday centre ideal for a quiet beach holiday. Winterton-on-Sea has just been listed as one of the top 10 UK hidden gems in London's TimeOut magazine too!
We are happy for you to bring along your dogs (max 2) as they will love the wide open spaces with the sand dunes and beach, a 10 minute stroll away. Hemsby with its amusements and nightlife is a pleasant stroll away.

The space
You will be staying at number 18 Winterton Valley Chalet Estate. Turn right as you come into the Estate and then turn left 30 yds into the FIRST carpark. Your chalet is the white one at the far end of the carpark. There is ample parking space.

The chalet can sleep up to 5 guests by also using either the sofa bed or a pull out single bed below the bunk beds, but is better suited to a party of four for comfort as would be a little cramped with more than four guests plus dog(s).

Completely refurbished to a very high standard, your chalet is one of the very best appointed chalets on the whole estate. Newly fitted carpets, bathroom suite, renovated kitchen area and newly decorated in all areas to make your stay more enjoyable. Also this chalet benefits from being completely insulated and rewired with ample sockets and USB charging points.
The extremely picturesque Winterton Village is a short 10 minute walk with a great pub that serves food all day. A village shop and a great fish and chip shop are also available close to hand.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need for your stay.
We have just installed a very high quality brand new King Size bed in the main bedroom, so your stay will be supremely comfortable as well. Bed linen is provided for the king size bed and the bunk beds. If you need additional bedding for the sofa bed or the third single bed, please bring this along with you. There is ample storage for clothes bags etc. for your stay.

WiFi:

We have installed an always on WiFi solution via a dedicated 4g router to make the whole WiFi experience better than before.
For 2023 we have just upgraded our package to a much quicker provider that offers unlimited data usage, so enjoy free WiFi.
Being 4g based, occasionally the internet speeds may fluctuate as you would expect, however generally the speeds are more than adequate for general internet usage and streaming services.

New for 2024, we now have a smart tv installed. As we now have unlimited internet with good speeds, this is now possible.

Please note that watching terrestial TV using the analog aerial is a bit hit and miss (it is the remote location unfortunatley).. however you can simply connect digitally from now on for all your favourite TV channels.

You will need to sign in using your own account for streaming services such as BBC Netflix Disney prime tv etc. please ensure you remember to sign out before your departure.

Dogs:

Dogs must be kept under control and on a lead at all times within the grounds. However they are free to play in the sand dunes and on the beach off lead but please respect other holiday makers. It goes without saying, but please clean up after your dog.

With respect to other guests, please do not allow dogs on the beds and use the provided throws on the sofas.
Pet bowls can be found in the cupboard under the sink.
Dogs must not be left unattended in the chalet please.

CLEANING FEE:

When you book your break you will be charged a cleaning fee. This cost is for the supply and cleaning costs of the bed linen plus a light clean after your stay. You are expected to tidy up after yourselves and to leave the chalet in the condition you found it however.

Note: Unfortunately our cleaning and linen charges have doubled this year (2023).

We have sadly had to raise the fee by £5 this year to help partially compensate for this. We do not charge any extra for dogs to stay, so hopefully you will understand the need to raise the price here.

Guest access
A key box is installed by the kitchen door for convenience and we will give you the keycode before your trip. Please place the key back in the keybox and secure upon leaving the property for the next guests.
In case of emergency access, we have an additional key box at the rear of the chalet, as well as a keyholder who resides near the estate during the summer months. Please call us if you have any problems.

Other things to note
Seasonal Stays:

In low season there is a minimum of a 3 night stay to keep the prices low and factor in cleaning and linen costs. Anything less than a three night stay would mean we would make a financial loss on renting out the chalet. In exceptional circumstances we may be able to accomodate a 2 night stay, but please enquire first, as the price would need to fully cover our costs of renting the chalet out.

In high season (typically last week of July to the first week of September) we require a minimum stay of 7 nights Saturday to Saturday to a maximum of 14 nights.

We do not rent out the chalet for personal profit. The money made over the year from rentals covers the high costs of ground rents, service charges including utilities and cleaning plus maintenance of the chalet. Any money left over goes straight back into the chalet to further improve it. For instance we recently replaced all of the doors and windows. Previous to that, the roof was replaced. When we have enough surplass, we are hoping to put in a small patio area.

Towels:

We cannot provide towels at the present time due to the difficulties getting them washed and dried on tight turnaround days. Please make sure you remember to bring beach and bath towels with you. Thank you.

Please also note that the newly replaced Fridge does not have a freezer compartment.

The small lobby has a coat hooks and a full length mirror. The kitchen has a mixer tap over the sink, a microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge, cooker cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. There is also a cupboard with the hot water tank and storage. The lounge/dining area consists of a 2 and 3 seat leather sofas, table and 4 chairs, wall mounted flat screen tv, hot water controls, £1/£2 coin meter in a cupboard and a double socket with usb chargers 2 electric heaters are available in the chalet. £5 credit in the electricity meter is provided as part of your welcome pack.
Bedding is provided, but towels, cot or high chair are not provided.
Washing up liquid, dish cloth, tea towel 2x toilet rolls toilet brush, tea and coffee and brush and dustpan are provided.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead, under adult supervision, and any mess cleared up immediately.
No smoking is allowed in the chalet.

Mardle has been completely refurbished to a high standard, providing a comfortable and modern chalet close to the beach. It can sleep up to four (max two adults) in two bedrooms, with two dogs welcome at no additional charge.

The space
Mardle is a modern two bedroom chalet on the Sundowner Holiday park in the seaside village of Newport, Hemsby. It's located in a quiet area, yet walking distance to the beach, amusements, shops and cafes.

Everything has been renovated and redecorated to a high standard. In the living area you'll find two comfortable sofas, a TV, electric fire and a dining table with bench seating for four. The modern kitchen area has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a launderette nearby.

There are two comfortable bedrooms: the first with a standard double size brass bed, and the second with children's 3' bunk beds so therefore the maximum number of adults the chalet sleeps is two. The bathroom has been completely renovated with a walk in shower, washbasin and WC. The chalet is heated and electricity is included.

Outside there's a seating area, and plentiful free parking. Two dogs are welcome at no additional charge. There is no wifi on site, but there is full mobile coverage. An EV charger is available to use on site.

17 Bermuda is stylish two bedroom detached chalet which has been completely refurbished to a high standard. It's walking distance from the beach, cafes, amusements and seaside entertainment. It can sleep up to four in two comfortable bedrooms - please note this property is pet free.

The space
17 Bermuda is a fantastic two bedroom detached chalet on Bermuda Holiday Park, close to the beach in Newport, Hemsby. The chalet is located in a quiet area, yet within easy walking distance to the indoor heated swimming pool, amusements, shops and cafes.

Everything has been renovated and redecorated to a high standard. In the living area you'll find two comfortable sofas, a TV, electric fire and a dining table with four chairs. The modern kitchen area has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster. There is a launderette nearby.

There are two comfortable bedrooms: the first with a standard double size bed, and the second with two 3' single beds. The modern bathroom has a shower over the bath, washbasin and WC. As well as the electric fire in the living room the chalet has electric panel heaters in each room. Please note that electricity isn't included and you will need £1 or £2 coins for the meter. All beds are made up with bed linen but towels are not provided.

Outside there's a cosy seating area in front of the chalet, and parking for two cars. There is free wifi at the chalet for guests. Bermuda Holiday Park is independently owned and family friendly. There's a mix of two and three bedroom chalets which are all privately owned. Within a short walk on the site there's a large club house with a fantastic range of entertainment. The Carousel Cafe offers a range of snacks, drinks and meals, and there's also a shop and mini mart. The nearby amusement arcade has traditional slot machines, prize bingo and a bowling alley.
