- "This awesome glamping tent setup made for a magic night on the Arizona plains. We got in super late but Jordon had helpfully sent through all the required information and the tent was perfect. We had a cold night (below freezing) but the quilt and heater kept the tent warm and cosy. Brilliant location for stargazing and check out the birds of prey show in the nearby campsite." - "Such a friendly reception and fantastic concept. Could see the night sky so perfectly. The bed set up was comfortable and it was great having chairs by the bon fire. It had everything we needed to enjoy our glamping experience!"

Enjoy the mountain air and the beautiful star-filled night sky at Gopher It Acres.
Gopher It Acres became available in June 2022.
Relax at the private sanctuary that we have created and want to share with you. Gopher It Acres is located on a unique ‘ancient oceanfront’ property, near the Grand Canyon in Arizona.
-The mountains and night sky views from this area are absolutely breathtaking!
-Our private overnight campsites are within a gated, family and pet-friendly, 3-acre fenced property equipped with graveled pull-through parking, large mulch tent areas, picnic tables, solar camping lanterns, USB charging stations, individual fire rings, and 16-foot fence partitions to provide element protection and additional privacy.
-Gopher It Acres has a private gender-neutral fenced-in bathhouse that has a hot shower, a sit-down compost toilet, a stand-up urinal, and a hand sink.
-Private bathhouse is fully stocked with luxurious biodegradable compostable natural personal products.
-The center stargazing lounge deck on the property is perfect for relaxing on. It has a table and camping chairs, making it suitable for use as an “outdoor kitchen” space.
-Adjacent is a large toy box that contains an amateur archery set, balls, badminton, water guns, volleyball, dog toys, and other family yard games.
-The large metal fire chiminea located in the center of the property is stocked with firewood and tools that are accessible to guests.
-An on/off propane-powered campfire located at the center of the property is available for use, alternatively.
-Gopher It Acres consists of terrain in the high dry desert at 6500’ elevation with ranch-style land and desert vegetation. We get 266 sunny days on average per year, minimal rainfall, and about 74 inches of snow per year.
-Gopher It Acres is a great destination during all seasons while traveling to the Grand Canyon or exploring what Northern Arizona has to offer.
-The property is located just off of the HWY down a 2wd accessible dirt road.
-Local Attractions/Resources-
-Just a 6-minute drive from us is the quaint community of Grand Canyon Junction, AZ which includes but is not limited to resources like:
-Raptor Ranch Bird Sanctuary. This is also where the Flintstones Bedrock City is located. If you and the family are ready for a YABBA DABBA DOO good time, check this out! The park also has a great convenience store with great snacks, souvenirs, and camp supplies (like ice and propane), also a cafeteria for dine-in options. Here you can also use their public bathroom and paid laundry facilities.
-Chevron Gas Station
-Mobile Gas Station
-Grand Canyon Inn Hotel
-Valle Airport (I am a paramotor pilot and would love to talk planes and ultralight aircraft with you.)
-Planes of Fame Museum
-The Grand Canyon South Rim Entrance- is just 30 minutes away from the property.
-Tusayan, AZ: 22 miles from the property, you can watch the Grand Canyon in one of Northern Arizona's largest IMAX theaters. I highly recommend it! This town also has traditional chain restaurants and gift shops.

- "This place is awesome. The Dan's have gone above and beyond to make this place awesome. We were only there for one night but plan on going back. The best part, out youngest son was able to see the Milky Way. Thanks Dan's for creating an amazing place to make lasting memories." - "Loved loved loved this campsite! The bathroom was way more than we expected for a remote location and it had everything one needs. We especially liked that it was gated so we felt very safe. This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!
Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that’s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.
Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation.
Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.
Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.
What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Firewood for the campfire
Other Things to Note:
Please arrive before sunset, the road in is dirt and has some rocky areas so please be aware!
During most of the year the campsite is accessible in a regular vehicle, but you will need a vehicle that has 4WD with high clearance in the winter/during rain. Please make sure you plan accordingly if you are traveling in the area with a rental car. The campsite is accessible as long as you drive slow and take precautions!
Please text me for additional directions, if needed 626-354-2777. have fun and relax!

After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.
If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. - "beautiful scenery and exceptional night sky" - "The site was really nice. Beautiful views, especially at night of the stars! The road getting there is a little rough, best for higher profile vehicles. We weren’t able to use the fire pit unfortunately because of the high winds but that definitely would be a plus if you decide to stay there! The heater does the job keeping the tent warm but we had brought a sleeping bad and lots of extra blankets since there was a storm during our stay. Thank you!"

-Ahoy, maties! Welcome aboard the Saratoga Shipwreck. This is a classic seaworthy 1970s, 26-foot, cabin cruiser river yacht, 30 minutes from the Grand Canyon South Rim.
-The non-existent coastline and absence of a beach are made up for by the amazing mountains and nighttime star views from your boat in the evening.
-The Grand Canyon Land Yacht is a unique alternative instead of a ground tent, wood cabin, or RV. Vacation in a weatherproof upcycled boat!
-Bring your own comfort bedding, pillows, and essentials; and prepare for an adventure of a lifetime climbing aboard your private vessel.
-The front cabin is suitable for two people (up to 6ft comfortably), it has a padded king-size odd-shaped bed platform, a large top hatch to open to view the sky, side porthole windows, and 12v lights.
-Relax and enjoy your private 'cruise' through Northern Arizona.
- The Saratoga Shipwreck is dry docked on a secure trailer within a pet and family-friendly, 3-acre fenced-in, dry 'harbor' - equipped with graveled pull-through private parking and amenities.
-Let your imagination run wild! Set Sail!
-Onboard in the galley and head, there is fresh water, an ice cooler (bring your own ice), a chemical toilet, and a small kitchen prep area.
-Grand Canyon Yacht Club members have access to a luxury private off-grid gender-neutral fenced-in bathhouse that has an outdoor Hot/Cold shower, standard compost urine separating sit-down toilet, a stand-up urinal, and a hand sink. We ask that you use the bathhouse for toilet/shower facilities. The RV toilet located in the 'head' of the boat is for emergency purposes.
-Private bathhouse is fully stocked with local biodegradable natural personal products.
-Departing the vessel on the port side in the center of the property is our outfitted stargazing lounge and shade pergola perfect for relaxing on and regaining your land legs.
-You will also have your own fire ring and the wood will be provided for you.
-On the property is a deck equipped with lawn chairs and several yard games for you and the family. Check it out! You have access to it all.

- "This rental is such a great idea. We needed a place to stay for 1 night stopping at Grand Canyon and the rental looked fun. The experience was one of the best we ever had... The Host Dan is very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed (he made a trip out to make sure the showers and restrooms were freshened up and say hi) It is a little hard to describe how to get to boat...So they gave VERY good directions. It said to bring all your own things... But they provided so many thoughtful things, it was amazing. There were plenty of lamps and lanterns if you forgot one, there were chips, snacks, breakfast bars in the "galley". The bed was comfortable and clean. There was a firepit in good condition with plenty of wood and a "fire starter kit" you could not find better stargazing at a planetarium If you are in the area… you owe it to yourself to try and stay here !!"

G.p.s coordinate picture will be texted to you. This is a plot of land I bought recently and I don't mind helping someone out. Looking for someone who knows about land. If they can make the land look better and clear it up for me, I'd give discount for their stay. Take pics of the land and show me what is going on so I know since I am not currently there. I want to make sure it is up to par.

Other things to note
Dear Guests,
While you plan and decide, Let's make sure this is the right fit for you, your trip plans, or expectations.
Let's review the Location:
The RV is located about 1,5miles off highway 180 on unmaintained dirt roads.
Most of the year, it is accessible by 2WD and a 4WD vehicle is not necessary. During the Winter months however (November to end of March, Roads can become very muddy, making it very challenging for low clearance vehicle and 2WD to navigate the dirt roads. Please check before your trip and we can let you know what the road condition is like.
It takes 10minutes drive from/to the Junction of highway 180 and highway 64 that goes to Williams and the Grand Canyon Park.
*****************************
Amenities:
Our efforts are directed to creating a sustainable lifestyle.
The RV is solar powered for lights, ceiling fans and plugs, and propane for fridge and stove.
At night, the batteries take over, and therefore, you need to be mindful if using electric appliances or electric outlets.
If we experience consecutive days of cloudy or rainy weather, Solar energy would be really low. Then an outdoor generator can be hooked to replace the use of solar power/batteries. This can be needed during the winter months due to getting less sun during the day.
The RV has running water for showers, sinks, and drinking.
Toilet inside the RV is available regardless of the running water -
In an effort to living a sustainable lifestyle,
We use "grey water" (Rain water or reclaimed water collected from washing hands or showering) to clean/flush the toilet.
*** Outdoor use:
As far as the exterior, you will be immersed in nature. We are still working on creating the outdoor space, so our outdoor is not perfectly manicured. Please pardon our work in progress.
Outdoor Amenities:
As far as the amenities that you are welcome to use during your stay:
_ large charcoal BBQ grill,
_ 36in in ground wood firepit.
_ Dining table with chairs
_ a swing
OFF Grid living implies some level of adventure mindset. There are unexpected circumstances such as weather, which can impact the landscape, the roads accessibility as well as the ability to use certain amenities in the RV (electricity, water) and outside the RV. Before booking, and before your trip starts, please check on those things that you consider a Must-Have.
We will not issue any refund for things that are out of our control and happen once your stay has started or happens last minute due to external circumstances. It is your responsibility to inquire and prepare accordingly.

Get away from it all when you stay under the stars, while in bed.
You'll have to clean up after up yourselves and bring your own bedding to stay here. Please read the listing description in full to make sure this is the right experience for you.
The space
Bring your own blankets and an adventurous spirit! This is a no-frills, unique camping experience. The perfect place to unwind, unplug and stargaze from the comfort of bed.
The camper is set up on 5 acres in a very safe and peaceful off grid community near the Grand Canyon. There's a firepit with fantastic views of the San Francisco peaks.

Guest access
Guests have full private access to the camper and the 5 acres it sits on. There is a secondary trailer and truck parked near the camper that belongs to the host. You will not have access to these, nor will they be occupied during your stay. Your privacy will always be respected and the property is laid out to ensure that.
Please note that the camper does not lock from the outside. There is a hook'n'latch lock to secure yourself inside with though.
Other things to note
If you aren't willing to clean up after yourselves, please stay elsewhere. This is a community run campsite that is reliant on guests cleaning up after themselves and following our pack in, pack out policy.
✧ WHAT TO BRING ✧
This is camping, NOT glamping! Therefore, guests are responsible to bring whatever supplies you may need for a good camping experience. This may include items such as:
water ✓ food ✓ warm clothes ✓ pillows ✓ blankets or sleeping bags ✓ lantern ✓ flashlight ✓ headlamp ✓ sunblock ✓ battery bank for charging devices if needed ✓ propane for the heater ✓ firewood or charcoal ✓ lighter or matches ✓ cooking and eating utensils ✓ paper plates ✓ paper towels ✓ wet wipes and toilet paper ✓
✧ CHECKING IN ✧
This property is self check in. Just rock up and make yourself at home. All the need to know information will be available in your booking itinerary.
✧ COMPOSTING TOILET SYSTEM ✧
Instead of a normal toilet, we have a compostable camping toilet in an outhouse behind the cabin. You'll be responsible to line it with a provided green compostable bag. Instead of flushing, use the scoop to add dirt, and put bag in the compost bin (30 feet behind the outhouse) before you check out. There may or may not be toilet paper so we recommend bringing a roll. The high winds we often get will blow it away so store it safely inside the trailer. You will be expected to leave the toilet clean at check out.
✧ GARBAGE ✧
This is an off grid, remote location. We do NOT have a garbage service. You are required to follow our pack in, pack out policy which means take your garbage with you at check out. This includes used propane tanks and recyclables.
✧ THE HEATER ✧
There is a Mr. Buddy brand propane camping heater provided, however, guests are responsible to bring their own 1 pound propane tanks to use it. The Coleman brand propane is the most abundant and Walmart in Flagstaff has the best prices. Only use propane, don't use butane, or butane/propane mix. A tank will last roughly 4.5 hours.
The heater is safe to use overnight but please be aware that once the propane canister runs out a small amount of gas will be let out into the air. Changing the tank also releases a small amount of gas. The cabin has some ventilation built in for this to escape, you can also crack the window for as an extra safety measure.
Please note that propane heaters have difficulty starting in temperatures below 20°F. When staying in the winter, make sure you arrive before the temperature drops too low. Storing your propane tanks in a warmer place can help prevent this.
✧ ELECTRICITY ✧
There is no electricity provided. No wifi. Just a solar powered lantern.
✧ WATER ✧
There is no running water here. Guests are required to bring whatever water they may need with them.
✧ COOKING ✧
There is a small charcoal BBQ for cooking, that's it. Host does NOT provide charcoal. Anything else you may need for cooking is your responsibility to bring. While there may be leftover cooking supplies on site, we do not keep an inventory and can not guarantee what supplies are there.
✧ CAMP FIRES ✧
You are required to bring your own firewood for campfires. Local gas stations sell bundles. While there is usually some form of kindling material, lighters, or matches on site, we recommend bringing these items with you. There is typically a county wide fire ban during the dry summer, this can be anytime from May or June into August so you may not be allowed to have a campfire during these months. It is your responsibility to check for fire bans and follow the law. Search Coconino County fire ban for up to date information.
✧ PETS ✧
Non-destructive house trained pets are welcome to join you. We don't charge pet fees, we just ask that they do not go up on furniture without using a blanket you have provided for them. Pet hairs or dog poop left behind may incur a cleaning fee. Do not leave them unattended in the camper as the trailer can get very hot during the day. Not only harmful to the dog's well-being, but potentially the trailer if the dog tries to break out.
Please be aware that many locals allow their dogs off leash time so you may have a friendly furry visitor stop by to play.
✧ WILDLIFE ✧
Please understand that you are camping in the wilderness. Things live out here and you may come across them, especially in the summer. Bugs, mice, snakes, rabbits, elk, and cows are all common.
✧ CHECKING OUT ✧
This is a self-cleaning space, meaning you don't get charged a cleaning fee in exchange for leaving the camper clean. The desert is a dusty place, dust can get tracked inside easily. If check out procedure is not followed a cleaning fee may be charged. You will receive a message reminding you of this during your stay.
✧ ROUGH ROADS ✧
There is about 2 miles of dirt roads between the property and highway 64 that can be rough, bumpy, and feel like off-roading in spots. Can your sedan make it here? Yes, most of the year. Though I can't promise that you'll agree and it probably is better to have something with decent clearance. If you drive too fast on the dirt roads, you'll damage your car and we take no responsibility for that. If you're vehicle is too low, you'll definitely bottom out in the dips. If you get yourself stuck in the snow/mud, we take no responsibility for that. Tow trucks are very expensive so don't get stuck.
During Monsoon Season (mid-July through September), heavy rain is common. You can still drive your sedan here then, many locals have sedans, but you really have to be cautious. The roads dry up fast and pools in puddles which may block some areas forcing you to drive over the bushes next to them. A low car will struggle with this. My Ford Explorer has no problems with these conditions in 2wd, I don't have mud tires either(though i probably should lol). Avoid driving on the dirt roads during a storm as flooding can happen when the rain is very heavy and the water is rushing to find its place. Get in or out of camp prior to or after the storm if you don't have AWD/4x4. Avoid large puddles and obviously muddy terrain in general, these are areas you can get stuck in.
The wintertime conditions can be very extreme. From December into March, the dirt roads can get really bad, especially January and February when we get the most snow. The roads tend to have a constant freeze/thaw cycle that leaves them a muddy, slushy mess in the afternoon. When they're frozen over, especially in the early morning, the dirt is much easier to drive on. You'll most likely need a 4x4 when coming here in the winter. If there is snow, your chances are getting stuck will increase as the dirt roads aren't plowed, even with an AWD/4x4. Use extreme caution during winter storms, snowfall can be heavy and you'll need enough clearance to make it in or out of camp. Tire chains are helpful on the snow covered dirt roads for all vehicles. Pay attention to the weather report on last minute bookings and use your own judgment on whether you feel comfortable driving here.
*REFUNDS*
We don't offer refunds for the weather, if you didn't like it, changed your mind about staying, underestimated the roads, didn't come prepared, or anything that isn't our fault. However, if it's my fault, I will do my best to make it right.
BBQ grill • Fire pit • Free parking on premises

Other things to note
In terms for getting there, if you are driving east on 180 you’ll take a left on Avondale and drive for about 2 minutes where you will then take a left where you see a gravel road and a sign that reads “bus glamping”. Then follow that road to the bus :)

Please read the entire description to make sure this is the right camping experience for you. It contains important information about what to expect, including condition of the local roads.
The space
The Moonshiner is a vintage 1960's camper that has been lovingly renovated. She sleeps 2 people cozily on a shared pull out bed. There is no light pollution out here, so you can see the Milky Way most nights. Enjoy a huge skylight over the double bed for some of the best stargazing in the country!

Other things to note
✧ PLEASE NOTE ☽
This is a community run camper/campsite. Open communication really helps things run smoothly, please contact me if there are any issues regarding your stay. We are unable to offer refunds due to weather, cold temperatures, road conditions or if it wasn't as easy to find as you would have liked. This is a camping adventure, you may face challenges, PLEASE know what you're getting yourself into and come prepared!
❂ WHAT TO BRING ☽
Guests are responsible to bring whatever supplies you think you may need for a good camping experience. This may include items such as: water, food, sunblock, warm clothes, bedding such as sleeping bags and pillows, lantern, flashlight, headlamp, battery bank for charging devices, propane for the heater, firewood or charcoal, lighter or matches, cooking and eating utensils, paper plates, paper towels, wet wipes and toilet paper.
❂ COMPOSTING TOILET SYSTEM ☽
Instead of a normal toilet, we have a compostable camping toilet in an outhouse. You'll need to line it with a provided green compostable bag. Instead of flushing, use the provided scoop to add dirt, and put bag in the compost bin (sign posted) before you check out. There may or may not be toilet paper so we recommend bringing a roll. The high winds we often get will blow it away so store it safely. You will be expected to leave the toilet clean at check out.
❂ SHOWER ☽
There is a very basic shower bag in the outhouse. If you want to use it, put some water in the shower bag, let the sun warm it up (or not - if you don't mind a cold shower!) and it's good to go.
❂ GARBAGE ☽
There is NO garbage service/disposal. Guests are required to follow our pack in, pack out policy which means take your garbage with you at check out. This includes used propane tanks and recyclables. Any compostable items, such as food, can go into the compost bin.
❂ ELECTRICITY ☽
We are totally off-grid and there is no electricity provided.
❂ WIFI ☽
Most cell phones services work great out here, but there is no WiFi.
❂ COOKING ☽
There is a charcoal grill for cooking, that's it. You are required to bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid to use it and anything else you may need for cooking/eating. While there may be a few cooking utensils on site, we do not keep an inventory and can not guarantee what supplies are there.
❂ WATER ☽
There is NO running water here. Guests are required to bring whatever water they may need with them. This includes drinking, washing up water and water for the shower if you choose to use it.
❂ CAMP FIRES ☽
You are required to bring your own firewood for campfires. Local gas stations sell bundles. While there is usually some form of kindling material, lighters, or matches on site, we recommend bringing these items with you. There is typically a county wide fire ban during the dry summer, this can be anytime from May or June into August so you may not be allowed to have a campfire during these months. It is your responsibility to check for fire bans and follow the law. Search Coconino County fire ban for up to date information. Please feel free to ask me if you're having any trouble finding out this information.
❂ BEDDING ☽
We do keep some spare blankets in the camper, but guests are responsible to bring their own bedding of choice, such as sleeping bags and pillows.
❂ CHECK OUT ☽
We don't charge a cleaning fee, so guests are required to clean up after themselves and take all belongings, trash and recycables. Please see house rules for a breakdown of our checkout procedure.
❂ PETS ☽
Non-destructive house trained pets are welcome to join you. We don't charge pet fees, but you do need to add them to your reservation and follow the Pet Rules in the House Rules section of the listing.
❂ WILDLIFE ☽
Please understand that you are camping in the wilderness. Things live out here and you may come across them, especially in the summer. Bugs, mice, snakes, rabbits, elk, and cows are all common.
❂ THE HEATER ☽
There is a Mr. Buddy brand propane camping heater provided, however, guests are responsible to bring their own 1 pound propane tanks to use it. The Coleman brand propane is the most abundant and Walmart in Flagstaff has the best prices. Only use propane, don't use butane, or butane/propane mix. A tank will last roughly 4 hours.
The heater is safe to use overnight but please be aware that once the propane canister runs out a small amount of gas will be let out into the air. Changing the tank also releases a small amount of gas. It is recommended to crack open the small vent windows below the main skylight for ventilation.
Please note that propane heaters have difficulty starting in temperatures below 20°F. When staying in the winter, make sure you arrive before the temperature drops too low. Storing your propane tanks in a warmer place can help prevent this.
❂ EXTREME WEATHER ☽
The trailer is in the high desert and weather out here is extreme.
Summertime can be very hot with temps up to 90 degrees, but even if it is really hot in the day, be aware it is still COLD at night time, so you must prepare for cold when camping, even in the summer.
Monsoon season is from mid July through September and during this time there will be storms and lots of rain. 4 x 4 is recommeded if staying during this season.
Winter time we get a lot of snow and freezing temps at night, 4 x 4 is also recommeded if staying in the winter, as well as bringing lots of bedding and extra clothes to stay warm.
❂ ROUGH ROADS ☽
There is about mile of dirt roads between the property and highway 180 that can be rough, bumpy, and feel like off-roading in spots. Can your sedan make it here? Yes, most of the year. Though I can't promise that you'll agree. Most of the year is dry and we've had many guests drive a Prius here. If you drive too fast on the dirt roads, you'll damage your car and we take no responsibility for that. If you get yourself stuck in the snow/mud, we take no responsibility for that. Tow trucks are very expensive so don't get stuck.
During Monsoon Season (mid-July through September), heavy rain is common. You can still drive your sedan here then, many locals have sedans, but you have to be cautious. The roads dry up fast and pools in puddles.
When they're frozen over, especially in the morning, the dirt is much easier to drive on. Sometimes a 2wd vehicle can pass if the weather has been dry. You may have to park near the highway and hike 1 mile to camp. Tire chains are helpful on the snow covered dirt roads for all vehicles. Pay attention to the weather report on last minute bookings and use your own judgment on whether you feel comfortable driving here.

Welcome to Back in Time Retreat. This completly remodeled 1968 vintage Avion travel was the cadillac of RV's superior to the Airstreams in the 60s . It sits on top of a cliff that borders the Kaibab National Forest to the west with views of the San Francisco Peaks and other mountain ranges with a feeling of piece and alone in the woods. It is located close to Historic route 66 with views of train going through. Keep in mind there is train noise and is a part of the experience.
The space
Welcome to Back in Time Retreat. We hope you enjoy your stay here as much as we do. We love this little retreat in the woods on the cliff. It was a challenge to get this little gem in this beautiful location but well worth it. We started out with the vision as we looked up at the cliff and realized that beautiful spot was unutilized. With a friend, a backhoe and determination we were able to get the road up and through the cliff. From there it was a matter of establishing the water, electricity, and hard work to get this 1968 Avion travel trailer remodeled. The experience is breath taking with view of the San Francisco Peaks and other mountain ranges with a feeling of piece and alone in the woods. It is located close to Historic route 66 with views of train going through. Keep in mind there is train noise and is a part of the experience.
The main cabin on the lower section of the property is also a rental property: Parks Chalet. They are both very secluded where you cannot see one from the other even though they are on the same property. Must have 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehical to get up road to the RV or you can park at the bottom of the cliff and walk up.
Other things to note
To get up the cliff and if it snows you will need an all wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. There is no internet if you want to straem netflex TV you will need to have a hot spot on your phone.

**Welcome to Your Rustic Camping Adventure!
You’re staying in nature, in a remote, off-grid location with limited resources, so it’s important to adjust your expectations. Water is limited, and while the campers provide comfort, they are designed for a rural experience, not city luxury. This is about enjoying the beauty and simplicity of nature. We’ve created this space specifically for you to experience something different and memorable.
When it comes time to leave a review, please consider the full context of where you are staying. This is a five-star stay in terms of what’s offered in such a remote and rustic setting. While it might not compare to a hotel in a major city, that’s not the purpose of this experience. Your perception needs to shift to appreciate the unique value of being in such a peaceful, natural environment. We work hard to maintain these campers in this rural space just for your enjoyment, and we kindly ask that you reflect that effort in your review.
Please Note:
All previous guests have left us five-star reviews, and we take pride in offering a unique, nature-focused experience that aligns with our description. If you read the details and understand what the experience is about, we trust you’ll enjoy your stay and leave a five-star review as well.
However, if you’re not an outdoorsy person or consider yourself high-maintenance, this might not be the best fit for you—and we kindly ask that you refrain from leaving anything less than five stars.
Thank you for understanding and for supporting our effort to share this special off-grid experience!
Power Notice & Reminder: Power is available 99% of the time. On the rare occasion that a previous guest left lights on or plugged in something they shouldn’t have, there’s a small chance the power might be out. No need to worry—most guests just need a cozy spot to rest. To be extra safe, we suggest charging your phone in the car when you arrive.
Please also remember to turn off all lights when you leave to help conserve energy. Since this is an off-grid camping experience, power is part of the adventure! Your help ensures future guests enjoy their stay too.
Over the years, we’ve noticed that many guests arrive after long drives. Please be patient when locating the site and managing expectations—we’ve detailed several scenarios to prepare you. The location is about 5 to 7 minutes down a dirt road. Please understand that if there is a rainstorm for a few days, the roads may get muddy. While any car can reach the site under normal conditions, rain or snow is beyond our control, so please take precautions when entering during such weather. This is not a house or condo where everything is always perfect, but rather a unique, one-of-a-kind experience set in the middle of nowhere.
We’ve created this iconic and memorable adventure just for you. Please leave us a five-star review
