To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend securing your club membership as early as possible.

Additionally, the Bald Head Island ferry system is independently operated and not affiliated with BHI Vacations. To ensure a smooth arrival and departure, we encourage guests to book ferry and tram reservations well in advance.

The Star Cottage is located on the waterfront in the Bald Head Island Marina with water views as well as sunset views. You are within walking distance to Jule’s and Dephina's Restaurants. We can provide a temporary membership to the BHI Club for an additional charge if you are interested. Being located in the harbor, you are on the water and across the street is the dock to the Bald Head Island Creek, where you can kayak and paddleboard. Sailing is available in the marina. Our home is ready and willing to host couples wanting to getaway and have a fully furnished private cottage on Bald head Island. We have a completely stocked kitchen, 2 full baths, screened porch and living area on the lower level; upstairs balcony off the master with views of the Bald Head Creek. The master bedroom has a new Pottery Barn King size bed for our guests. This Island jewel has been completely renovated with Pottery Barn furniture, accessories and linens. We have a 4 seat golf cart for your transportation needs.
Our home is located in The Harbor Village district of BHI. Many amenities are available by a short walk. The Village is the center of recreational activities, such as stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing. There are several restaurants, Old Baldy our resident lighthouse, The Bald Head Island Chapel, and beach accesses 1,2, and 3.
Our home is constantly monitored by security cameras for the safety of our guests and our property. Views by the cameras are those similar to views from public spaces in the street and otherwise.
As the home owns Membership at The Shoals Club, our guests have the optional amenity to purchase a Temporary Guest Memberships directly with The Club through registering on their Website. The Club then authenticates with us as to whether a booking is in place with our property.

Shell Cottage at Cape Fear Station invites you to Bald Head Island! BHI is a unique and peaceful island accessible by a 20 minute passenger ferry or private yacht. The island has golf carts and biking as the mode of transportation. Shell Cottage is within walking/biking distance to East Beach—one of the most favored beaches on the island—Turtle Conservancy, and Mike's Bites. Shoals Club is located conveniently close with a temporary membership available with a daily/weekly pass for an additional fee. The Maritime Market (grocery) is located 8 minutes by golf cart from the house with shopping and spa available. The Marina is located 12 minutes from the house with restaurants and many activities available.

For example, Since it was our first time we didn’t know that certain restaurants were members only until we had booked. Also, the kitchenette was missing some standard items like a cork screw and a sharp knife. But the room served its purpose and we would stay there again"
