Mill cottage, being attached to our home known as Iron Mills, was formerly a working Mill. The cottage, which is the original building, dates back to the 17th century and still retains a rotating mill wheel which was completely refurbished last year. The cottage is attached to our main house and we are situated in the older part of the village which has retained much of its original charm. The garden borders the River Caen, which meanders through Braunton village and out into the Taw & Torridge estuary. Just across the river is the beautiful 13th Century church of St.Brannock. Just a five-minute walk into the village centre, you will find a variety of pubs, restaurants, cafes and surf shops. We operate a non-smoking policy throughout the cottage.

Little Sandy Hollow is ideally situated in a central location for both the beach and the picturesque village of Croyde. It's location makes it ideal for days on the beach, with a peaceful setting for relaxing, finishing with an easy stroll to the village for meals out, ice creams or a take away from the many options in and around Croyde village. The sunsets can be stunning here, watching from the beach or the sand dunes or down the road at Downend Point, all are within easy walking distance. An evening stroll around Baggy Headland, National Trust, is a favourite of ours and many others. This can be as long or short as you want with plenty of seats for a rest to take in the fabulous views. There are certainly lots of options which make it easy to leave the car for the day.

This area of North Devon has so much to offer if you wish to have some days exploring the local area. From wide open beaches of Woolacombe and the rugged smaller beaches of the north coast to the open moor lands of Exmoor National Park and steep wooded valleys in and around Lynmouth and the Valley of the Rocks. There is certainly lots to explore both for the adults and children. It is a comfortable, well equipped and ideal location for both a family with young children or 2 adults.

It is a 2 floor self-contained annex with a separate private side access to the property, with key safe . Off street parking for 1 car is available in the front of the property. It is adjoined to the main property where we, the owners Malcolm&Gini live. We are often away on day trips, overnight visits to family in Bristol and Somerset or off to our allotment in the village. We are always easily contactable for advice if needed.

- "This place is perfection! Some places call themselves dog friendly when they actually mean dog tolerant, the March End Lodges are truly dog friendly. These lodges have a private enclosed and safe garden for your dog, they leave you dog treats AND a doggy blanket. The lodge itself is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, fully kitted out with everything you need and exudes a feeling of calm and peacefulness. We were even greeted to prosseco in the fridge and milk for those desperate for a cuppa! Under the sink they give you all the little things you’re going to need - dishwasher tabs etc - it just feels like they’ve thought of everything. The location is amazing, you can walk into the lively little village to two different pubs and a well stocked shop. You can also walk to Putsborough beach (about 40 mins) and then across the beach to Woolacombe. The hot tub was a gorgeous way to spend our evenings. We didn’t need to worry about our dog as he was safe in the garden. There was a really small issue with the hot tub one night and Nick was there in minutes to fix it! Customer service is here is second to none. We will be coming back - no doubt about it!"

High View is a beautiful modern 3 bedroomed cottage. It has recently been extended and refurbished to a very high standard and offers contemporary but stylish and comfortable accommodation. Outside there is a large decking area offering spectacular elevated views across Braunton and the surrounding countryside.

Accommodation comprises of three bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, bedside tables and a large fitted wardrobe; the second bedroom has a double bed and the third bedroom has twin beds with ample storage space. It has a study with a desk and sofa, which is perfect for remote working. It has a family bathroom with shower and bath, plus a further cloakroom. The fitted kitchen is modern and well equipped with a breakfast bar & stool, cooker, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. There is also a washing machine in the utility area, along with hoover, iron & ironing board. The large living room has patio doors which open out onto the decking and offers stunning views across Braunton. It has a sofa, two armchairs and a dining table to seat 6. High View is conveniently situated within a short, pleasant walk from the centre of Braunton, with its many cafes, bistros, restaurants and surf shops. Being on the Saunton side of the village means it's just a few minutes drive from the magnificent Saunton Sands. Saunton Sands is family and dog friendly and is renowned for some of the best surf in the country. It is also popular for kite surfing, kayaking and paddle boarding. There is a surf hire store at the beach, plus a take-away cafe, ice-cream shop and gift shop. The beautiful Sands Cafe provides indoor and outdoor seating with spectacular views.

In addition, Croyde Bay is a few minutes further on and Putsborough, Woolacombe and Baggy Point (National Trust) are all just another mile or two from Croyde. Braunton Burrows and the Tarka Trail (an off-road cycle track of more than 30 miles) are also within a few minutes' drive or cycle from the property.

The Devon region

The North Devon Atlantic coast offers some stunning scenery including the amazing Saunton Sands beach, which stretches for miles (just a few minutes' drive away).

You can take the public footpath across the historic Great Field leading to the Braunton Burrows and Crow Point – a fantastic area for walking. Then there's the Tarka Trail, which starts from the village - a 30 mile walk or bike track along the river Taw and Torridge using the old railway line. The renowned Saunton Golf Club is also only a short car ride from the property.

The lovely sandy beach of Croyde Bay, great for surfing, is about 10 minutes away by car. The infamous Thatch pub in Croyde is also great for a bite to eat after a day at the beach. You can climb Baggy Point for some amazing views over to Lundy Island. Putsborough Beach is only a 15 minute drive, along with the popular beach and night life at Woolacombe. Barnstaple town has a good shopping high street and old pannier market, plentiful pubs and restaurants to suit all, plus a cinema, theatre, tenpin bowling and leisure centre with gym and 25m pool. The quaint Tarka train line leaves here for the cathedral city of Exeter an hour away.

Inside Sandy Beau:

A vaulted hallway welcomes guests into a wide, light and airy space which leads to the 2 ground floor bedrooms, the ground floor wet-room bathroom and also the large open plan living area.

Underfloor heating throughout ensures year round comfort and warmth after a day of exploring the beaches and surrounding areas of outstanding natural beauty.

The 2 ground floor bedrooms are light, spacious and beautifully furnished.
Beds in each room can be made up as 2 singles or as 1 Super King size.
Each bedroom has a wall mounted HDTV that is internet enabled for Netflix etc as well as Freeview.

The groundfloor Wet-room style bathroom is finished to a high spec with exquisite lighting of the limestone floor and spacious walk in shower - suitable for wheelchair access.
Also the bathroom features a large heated LED lit mirror and heated towel rail.

Stairs lead from the vaulted hallway to the upstairs bedroom and en-suite bathroom.
This bedroom can also be made up as 2 single beds or a super king.
It is a wonderfully light and comfortable room, again finished to high spec with multiple rooflight windows complete with internal blinds to give privacy and comfort after dark. The en-suite bathroom is subtly lit and beautifully finished with a slipper bath, toilet, hand basin, LED heated mirror and heated towel rail.

The open plan living area has relaxed seating for six with Sofa's and footstools.
A wall mounted 49 inch smart HDTV with Sonos playbar speaker is internet enabled to allow guests to login to Netflix, Amazon Prime etc.
With use of the Sonos app the playbar can also be used to stream music from services like Spotify etc.

The front alcove of the main living area has a dedicated work space with natural daylight and desk. The space has easy access to 'hard wire' via Ethernet cable to BT Infinity wireless internet router if required. Perfect for guests wishing to 'work from home'.

A glass fronted log burner is also a feature in the living space for relaxing in the warmth of a real fire on those cold winter days.

The dining table is an oak farmhouse style and has seating for up to 8. It features hanging pendant lights that create a cozy and sumptuous atmosphere with multiple board games stored in cupboards within arms reach.

The fully fitted kitchen is well equipped with beautiful natural slate worktops. It contains a large 'American Style fridge freezer with internal filtered water dispenser, Ice machine and Wine cooler. Also features an integrated dishwasher, electric cooker, hob, microwave, kettle and toaster.

Behind the kitchen is an enclosed Utility room with vaulted ceiling containing a washing machine, large heated towel rail to dry wet clothes, wetsuits, swimming costumes & towels. A clothes airer also available for outside drying of wet items.

The utility room has separate access to the rear of the house where the heated outdoor shower is located for a truly luxurious way to freshen up straight off the beach!

The vaulted utility room allows for safe and secure storage of surf boards, bikes, golf clubs & beach gear.

Bi-fold doors with a flush level floor (perfect for wheelchair access) lead from the kitchen to the large rear limestone patio area for a modern inside-outside feel.

Rear Garden:

Guests have use of a new Weber Master-touch Barbecue with full array of utensils.
There are also 2 sun-beds with cushions, a Patio table and multiple chairs to relax into as the garden captures the sun from sunrise to late evening.

Sandy Beau has free off road parking for two cars on the driveway.

Keeping the Village and surrounding area as pollution free as possible is close to our heart and hence there is a Rolec electric car charging point available on request for those with Hybrid or Electric vehicles.

Dogs:
*One short haired dog is welcome at Sandy Beau at an extra fee of £25 per week although we request owners restrict their dogs to downstairs only - stairgate will be provided.
**Sorry pooches but in the summer months of July & August we do not allow dogs to stay due to Croyde beach being closed to our canine friends!

- "Beautiful bungalow . Lovely open plan kitchen lounge area . We stayed during winter so it was nice and cosy with underfloor heating plus woodburner . Kitchen so well equipped plus separate heated room to dry any wet gear . Three good sized bedrooms and beautiful walk in shower. Free standing bath in en suite also Location great . Just a short walk to Croyde village . We love it here ! " - "I stayed at this property for 2 weeks in August with my husband, son aged 24 and father aged 88. What a lovely, comfortable place to stay! The property is located in a quiet close on the western edge of Croyde, therefore an easy drive to our favourite beach at Saunton. Only slight problem with the location is that it's a bit of a trek to the shops and restaurants (my dad was not up to the walk so I had to drive when we ate out in town), and a bit of a trek to the beach: you have to walk up virtually the length of the road, a short distance along the main road, then down another parallel road and across the back of the dunes; or along the main road to the western car park and across the rocks. That is the only negative- everything else was spot on. The rooms are all well planned and nicely decorated with comfy zip-link therefore super king size beds, with TV in both downstairs bedrooms. The loft room has an en suite bathroom and is massive. Stairs maybe a bit tricky for older guests - such as my dad - but great for my son. There is tons of space downstairs- even we found it hard to fill the place with our junk! Loved the huge hall with its ginormous mirror! Utility room is the best ever - so warm, everything dries in hours! The whole place was clean and incredibly well equipped. The housekeeping team were great - responded rapidly to a couple of tiny teething problems. Lovely touches such as (compostable) pod coffee and filter coffee Really could not have had a better holiday"
