The restaurant staff went above and beyond to help find meals that didn't contain my unusual allergies, and the food was absolutely lovely for dinner. Breakfast was a nice relaxed meal, although some patrons seemed to expect silver service and for their cooked breakfast to arrive in less time than it might take to prepare at home! It just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time. All the staff were polite and appropriately friendly as well as approachable. - "Absolutely gob-smacked when we arrived at the Barnstaple Hotel, it was fantastic and totally unexpected. Staff were lovely, ambience great and it was just so welcoming. It was a fairly last minute booking, a one night stay and I hadn't really taken much notice of reviews etc. Great regret that I hadn't packed my swim-wear as the pools looked so enticing. Our room was so comfortable, such a shame that we couldn't spend longer there. Couldn't fault the hotel at all and we will definitely make a point of returning to Barnstaple and spending a few days at the Barnstaple Hotel, it was a holiday in itself."
