The Wanderlust Cabin is a cozy 700 square foot cabin nestled on a beautifully wooded lot. It has a living area with comfortable furniture, an electric fireplace, a TV with DVD player and DVD’s.

This barn was once used to service horses, but now it's been turned into a luxurious apartment for you! It has 1 bedroom with a queen sized bed and an on suite. The living room has an L shaped couch that folds out into a double bed.

This charming, 2-bedroom retreat features 2 queen beds and two baths. The property is a 40-minute drive from the Blue Ridge Parkway, which opens many other options for things to do during your visit. This location is also a 45-minute drive from Winston-Salem, Greensboro, and Mount Airy, a real-life Mayberry beloved by fans of the Andy Griffin Show. The Martinsville Speedway in Virginia is also 45 minutes away. Walnut-Cove and the City of King in North Carolina and the Town of Stuart in Virginia are a 25-minute drive.

MORE DETAILS FOR YOUR VISIT - Guests will be able to privately check into the property through use of a lockbox that will contain two keys to open the storm door on the side porch of the house. When guests check out, they should leave the keys on the corner dining table in the great room/ kitchen area.

Shortly after arrival the owner or their representative will stop by the house to provide a short orientation of the property and answer any questions the guests may have. This is the only time guests will see the owner unless they follow up at a later time with additional questions or needs.

Guests will enter the property at the main driveway through two black iron gates connected to large stone columns. The columns have solar powered lanterns on top to assist in locating the entrance at night. Guests will then follow the driveway up the hill and around to the rear of the house where parking is located. The black iron gates will remain open throughout the stay of our guests to ensure access for fire & EMS should those services be needed.

The main entrance to the house is the side porch where outdoor lighting will also assist at night. A good practice would be to leave the outdoor flood lights on if guests depart during daylight and return after dark.

Following is a description of the house when guests enter through the side porch door:

CABIN ROOM - This house is a combination of a log cabin that was added on to with conventional construction to expand the available space. Guests will enter the house through the downstairs room of the two-room cabin. Upstairs in the cabin is one of the two bedrooms. The downstairs of the cabin is a relaxing room that contains a fireplace with gas logs plus a new sofa that easily pulls out to sleep two people. It also has a music box that will play vinyl records, CDs, FM radio, etc. Also provided in this room are books, CDs and vinyl records plus a few games for the enjoyment of our guests.

UPSTAIRS BEDROOM - The upstairs bedroom has a new queen bed with electronic mattress adjustment system. This bedroom also has a sitting area where guests will experience an amazing view of Hanging Rock State Park out the large windows. This bedroom also has a half bath with a walk-in shower.

GREAT ROOM / KITCHEN AREA - Guests will walk through a short hallway from the downstairs Cabin Room to enter the great room / kitchen area. A full bath with tub and shower is also accessible from the great room. This is the main room of the house where guests will likely spend most of their time. It has a fireplace with gas logs for enjoyment of our guests. It also contains a comfortable sofa and chair, a smart TV, a corner dining table that can seat six, plus a kitchen area that includes a washer & dryer. Also included are a microwave, coffee maker (pods and carafe), blender, dishes, silverware, glasses, pots & pans and a standard set of kitchen utensils. This room has three glass doors facing the mountain view and these doors open to a covered front porch with a metal roof that provides a pleasing sound when raindrops are falling. The covered front porch provides access to an open front deck with additional chairs, an outdoor dining table and a comfortable porch swing.

DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM - The spacious second bedroom is attached to the great room / kitchen area. It contains a new queen-size bed with electronic mattress adjustment. This bedroom has a convenient second doorway that provides direct access to the front porch deck and porch swing.

AMENITIES PROVIDED IN THE HOUSE - Linens and towels are provided for guests and extras are stored in the bedroom closet of the downstairs bedroom. Toiletry items are also provided in the bathrooms. Snacks and coffee/ tea are provided along with bottled water in the refrigerator. The tap water is also very good to drink. User manuals are provided for some of the appliances and are located in the cabinet drawer near the refrigerator. Grocery items are available at local country stores and the Dollar General in Lawsonville. The nearest big brand grocery stores are located in Walnut-Cove, N.C. and Stuart, VA.

OUTDOOR PICNIC SHELTER - Hillview has a unique picnic shelter located near the house. This shelter comfortably seats 6 to 8 people and contains a beautiful stone fireplace. Guests are allowed to burn wood in this outdoor fireplace. Open fires are not allowed in the main house fireplaces due to restrictions from the insurance company.

OTHER OUTSIDE STRUCTURES – As stated earlier, guests are welcome to use the outside covered shelter with fireplace. The large threshing barn in front of the house is not open to guests; however, a short tour of the inside of the barn is available on request to the owners. The "outhouse" replica near the driveway is not an actual "outhouse." It was built to conceal the electrical transformer for the property, so guests should stay clear of that building because of the DANGER associated with high voltage in the structure.

PHONE SERVICE – Phone service is provided by both a land line and cell service. The land line number is (336) 593-2162. Portable land line phones are located on the fireplace hearth in the living room and on the chest of drawers in the upstairs bedroom.
For cell phone use, it is highly recommended that you go to SETTINGS on your cell phone and set the phone to Wifi-Calling. The cell signal is sometimes intermittent and the use of Wifi-Calling will ensure you have reliable cell service.

HIGH-SPEED INTERNET / WiFi – High speed internet / WiFi is provided to the house by a fixed wireless network provided by RiverStreet. The RiverStreet Network password is 20005762. Should an internet outage occur during your visit, guests should unplug the black power cord that is plugged in the wall outlet between the TV and fireplace. Keep it unplugged for two minutes and plug it back in. This will allow the router located under the TV to reboot. It will start with a blinking blue light on the router and the light will then become solid and service should resume. If this does not work, immediately call or text the owners and they will call a RiverStreet technician to address the problem. PLEASE DO NOT UNPLUG ANY OF THE INTERNET /ROUTER CABLES AS THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FIXED WIRELESS EQUIPMENT.

Enjoy an escape from the ordinary at Winsome View Farm - an active farm with beautiful views. This property is not handicap accessible and may be challenging for those with mobility issues due to stairs, DETACHED bathroom and uneven footing.

The main barn has evolved over the years from a tack room to a beautiful space to share with fellow lovers of nature. This two level barn features a kitchen area on the lower level with all you need for light cooking. The upstairs loft bedroom features a comfortable queen bed (2 adults), futon (1 small adult or 2 small children), recliner, Smart TV, closet, WiFi, and desk nook. The two levels are connected with a spacious deck offering views of Sauratown Mountain, Cook’s Wall and the hay fields. There is plenty of seating around the barn, around the fire pit, and indoors. The bathroom is adjacent to the barn (30 ft away - see bathroom details). The barn and bathroom have heat and AC for your comfort. We do not have a hot tub. It appears on the listing incorrectly. We no longer have horses on the property but our neighbor's horses may make an occasional appearance.

The kitchen is well stocked with essentials (refrigerator, freezer w/ice, microwave, hot plate, coffee maker, blender, toaster, pots/pans, utensils, gas grill, crock pot, wraps, dishes, paper products). Everything you need for a campfire is provided (wood, starter materials, roasting skewers), just bring your s'more supplies.

Dogs are welcome! Please let us know ahead of time if you are brining your canine companions so we can prepare for your stay.

Take in all Stokes County has to offer! Hike, fish, swim, zipline, kayak, tube, explore and then relax at the farm.

This small L-shaped cabin has a comfy queen sized bed, a couch in a sitting area, and a kitchenette. There is a very small bathroom with a shower. It has a screened covered porch for your morning coffee or a meal at the end of your hiking, climbing, biking, zip-lining, kayaking or tubing. The kitchenette has a microwave, toaster oven, a small crock-pot, coffee maker, an electric griddle, as well as a gas grill outdoors with a burner. It is furnished with pots, pans, dishes, coffee, creamer, sugar, salt and pepper and utensils. We have a strong internet connection for work or entertainment.
Enjoy a private fire at your own fire pit and a beautiful view of the mountain from our gazebo. Sit and relax near one of our two water features . We share a yard but are happy to have you enjoy all our property has to offer.
We are 9 miles from the Hanging Rock Park entrance, less than a mile from Neatman Creek Disc Golf Course, 5 miles from Carolina Ziplines and 20 minutes to Pilot Mountain State Park, Pilot Mountain and Jolo Wineries, Midsummer Brewery, Danbury and Dan River Company (kayaking and canoes), less than 1/2 mile from Snyder's Barn. - "BEAUTIFUL, serene stay, super clean, cozy. Loved the screened in deck!" - "The property was very clean. The room air conditioner kept the space comfortable. The bathroom is very tiny. The toilet is low flow (plunger in the closet of bedroom space). The bed is very comfortable and bedroom space is large thanks to the vaulted ceiling. The counters in the kitchen space are high and would be difficult for anyone under 5 ' to use. Overall we loved the space and would stay again if we had a high profile vehicle. To get to the cottage you drive through the back yard and cross a shallow ditch. My Camry did ok on the dry grass and ditch. It would have had trouble if it had rained. The parking area is grass as well. There was no pictures of the parking area. The description does not mention driving through the yard. I would not have stayed if I knew that. My car does not go well on wet grass and ditches."

The Space:
At the top of the driveway, you'll hear the 10' falls before you see them. As you walk into the Mill, be greeted by soaring 12' ceilings, & modern industrial décor with historic accents. Pass through the glass French doors onto a spacious deck for jaw-dropping unimpeded views through glass railings of the falls and pools below, tree tops, and the walking path on the property. You'll feel a change in the air-- the crashing of the falls fills each breath with a charged, rejuvenating energy. Honestly, the space is fiercely beautiful and try as we may, we just cannot seem to do it justice in words.

From the large entry doors into the first floor you'll access the kitchen, dining table, living area with Smart TV, deck access, and bathroom with laundry. The second floor has 1 King Bedroom facing the falls, 1 Queen bedroom with creek views, and an open space with twin bunk bed and separate futon couch. We use Free & Clear Unscented laundry detergent on bedding and towels so our guests with sensitivities to perfumed products can breath easy.

Please note there is no bathroom on the second floor, and the stairs are original to the Mill-- they're a bit steep. At night, small children may appreciate a portable potty upstairs for convenience.

Guest Access:
The property is yours to explore. You'll access the house with a key obtained from a lockbox beside the front door. There are meditation and yoga platforms, swimming areas in the creek, a hot tub, and a walking path along the property. There is a gas grill and utensils, and plenty of sitting spots by the creek.

For your safety, guests are strictly prohibited from approaching the top of the dam or the concrete channel between the Mill and Creek.

The Neighborhood:
Oh honey, take a deep breath and relax. You're in the country now.

Getting Around:
There's plenty of parking in the driveway- just go slowly and be careful. Boundaries are marked with reflectors and logs.

Other Things to Note:
Nature is wild, beautiful and powerful- respect the water (especially in times of flooding- stay far back and admire), enjoy wildlife from afar, and generally use common sense in this natural haven. Leaving food scraps behind attracts unwanted animals, and spoils the vista for future guests. We want each guest to get to enjoy the pristine atmosphere of this amazing historic location; please leave no trace of your visit, including corn cobs, watermelon rinds, citrus peels, etc.

We are not able to host any sort of weddings or large gatherings. The maximum capacity of the mill is 6 people.

We have fallen sappily in love with this area of the Blue Ridge Mountains and we want you to, as well! There you can hike, fish, mountain bike, kayak or canoe the day away. You could also tour the Yadkin Valley wineries for a fun day trip. Well within an hour you could be in Mayberry, the Blue Ridge Parkway, historic Old Salem or Pilot Mountain. The backyard is spacious for playing yard golf, darts, disk golf or corn hole. If you bring your bike or kayak, you can store it in the barn. But the real charm of this place is the quiet retreat of a place to rest at the end of fun packed day.

We have 4 fur babies on the property. They are confined to the property by an underground fence. The Cabin is within their boundary, but rest assured we will do our very best to keep them from visiting you too much! Actually they are very spoiled and prefer to be in our (their) house!

A dog will be considered to accompany you as well (max. 60 lbs). There is a $50 pet fee. However, we have dogs on site so we need to discuss prior to bookings. Thank you for your cooperation with this condition.

Nellie’s Homeplace is a historic cabin located on a 100-acre Century Farm at the base of Sauratown Mountain. The cabin holds many memories and historical significance from the last 100+ years on the farm. Nellie, the grandmother of one of the current owners, was born in the cabin and lived there for several years of her childhood. The cabin has been restored in recent years in hopes that others may too enjoy the peacefulness of the cabin nestled between the trees on the back side of the farm.

Historic Mount Airy, NC which is a 30 minute drive offers downtown shopping along with the Andy Griffith Museum and several restaurants. If you want to get out and explore there is lots to do all within a 30 minute drive. Pilot Mountain state park or hanging rock state park are perfect for a hike or picnic. Take an adventure to the Carolina Ziplines Canopy Tour. Visit the local Brewery or one of the many local wineries. Take a scenic 15 minute drive to Stuart Virginia to restaurants, grocery stores and a nostalgic downtown area.
There is one queen bed and one full bed. You will be provided with 1 starter log for the fire pit, rolls of toilet paper and paper towels, travel size toiletries, hand and dish soap. No pets.

THINGS TO DO:
Centrally located, the property is close to many outdoor activities. Guests can spend an hour or days hiking the many trails at hanging rock park and enjoy the various waterfalls. During the heat of the summer, the lake at the park provides a nice option to cool off. Tubing and kayaking down the Dan River are other activities for guests to enjoy. For the thrill seekers, rock climbing and zip lining are offered nearby.

Please be mindful that the property is located adjacent to the park and the presence of animals, insects or creatures that may be dangerous is possible. Be aware of your surroundings and do not leave food outdoor. For our guest and property's security, cameras are present on the exterior front and back of property. To prevent the possibility of theft, please remove all valuables from your car and ensure doors are locked.

This beautiful log cabin, previously known as Indian Creek Cabin, has been an important part of the Hanging Rock Community for many years. It began as the Hanging Rock Outdoor Center. The property is adjacent to the Indian Creek Trail area. It is within a few miles of the Lower Cascade Falls, Dan River, Moore's Spring bike trails, and of course, Hanging Rock State Park. Adventure awaits with ziplining, kayaking, canoeing, and river tubing excursions within minutes of the front door.

- "My husband and I stayed here for the first night of our honeymoon road trip from NC through WV. We stayed in room 8, and really enjoyed the experience. We had a beautiful view from our balcony, and saw wild turkeys under pilot mountain in the sunset. The aesthetic of the room and the lodge in its entirety was superb. We had a few drinks and dinner the restaurant which was nice, before calling it a night. The next morning we took a nice walk on one of the properties many trials before heading out for our road trip towards New river gorge. Bed was comfortable and all amenities were appreciated. I would love to come back and stay a whole weekend."
