The house was spotless, the coffee bar has everything you need, and the beds were comfy. There are two parking spots out front. It's easy to get from the house to anywhere you need, the local Hitching Post is a short walk down the hill too. It's probably best for family with kids, or very close friends as you do have to walk through one bedroom to get to the other."

Our Mexican Brick Casita is waiting to welcome you. Situated 3.5 miles from downtown Bisbee in the Warren area of Bisbee; this quiet peaceful location is an opportunity to enjoy the hustle and bustle of "Old Bisbee" and then hop in your car for the 10 minute return, and relax. Enjoy the hundreds of birds living in nearby trees, the quiet, and church bells on Sunday morning.

There are no disappointments here. Every effort has been put into La Casita (which really is made of Mexican brick called "burnt adobe"), economical pricing, the grounds and the comfortableness of the Casita as well as an abundance of linens and items to make your stay as wonderful as possible.

Immaculate, this 700 square foot Casita offers a private, peaceful setting for birdwatchers, hikers, bike riders or simply folks wanting to get away from it all for a few days. There is plenty of parking (and room for RV Parking should you require it). Just let us know in advance if you are driving an RV.

There is a restaurant 1/2 block away, and we are located a short 10 minute drive from Old Bisbee. . We also recommend the Lavendar Jeep Tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and you won't have to worry about getting stuck up on the mountainside when the road abruptly ends! Ahh, the charm of Bisbee.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator and stove, microwave, coffee pot, toaster and anything else you may need. All linens are provided with extra blankets or pillows should you require them. The master bedroom offers a queen size bed with a new pillow top mattress, plenty of storage space and drawer space. There are also 2 folding floor futons for small children. In the laundry room cabinet you will find extra bedding and games for the family to use. In the living room you will find several comfortable areas to read with books for your use; some from local authors. The bathroom has been completely remodeled with wood wainscot and an abundance of large bath towels, hand towels and washcloths. If you enjoy sending postcards or writing there is a desk provided in the Bedroom. Sun pours into the living room every morning creating a light and bright environment. You will enjoy the private side patio with numerous large whiskey barrel planters, roses, decorative pieces, a charming fountain, propane barbecue grill. This is indeed a wonderful setting for a relaxing afternoon or evening.

We consider pets on an individual basis. There may be a fee for pets to be determined on an individual basis.

There is no smoking inside the home and no minors are allowed without the presence of legal age adults. Children are also not to be left unattended.

- "We will be back. I think that says it all. Cute, clean, comfortable, wonderful host, little house!! Really nice location in Warren, in Bisbee. This little house represents the great Bisbee vibe and is in a nice location in the Warren area in Bisbee. A fantastic little breakfast/lunch cafe right next door. The most outstanding things are the host, who is the nicest person. I left my blouse and she mailed it to me. The bed is quite possibly the most comfy bed we have ever had in a rental property. And, there is a little precious courtyard outside that is a perfect place to sit outside in the morning with coffee, or to have a Happy Hour and relax in the evening. We love it and will be back."

The Owner, Tourist or Transient shall not produce noise that is intermittent or continuous for a period of at least 15 minutes, which travels beyond the property line, and disturbs the peace and order of the neighborhood or a person of ordinary sensibilities. Hostess Maria and her Italian immigrant parents who visit annually from "back east" continually add new touches to the private and relaxing front yard (east facing), including trees, herbs, indigenous and flowering plants, and Italian parsley growing in the cracks of the path. The cool evening breezes coupled with stunning views are sure to please.

Guest Access:

Bedroom sleeps two, with a plush queen size bed! Futon in living room for two additional guests and additional lounging opportunities. Full bath, stove, fridge, ample kitchen wares and appliances, condiments and breakfast fixings, at a minimum, are included (usually eggs, bread, butter, coffee, creamer, teas). Parking for one car (turn around much trickier with two cars and inadvisable). Road and narrow drive passable for car/passenger truck/SUV, but NOT for larger vehicles or trailers (very limited turn around).

Interaction with Guests:
Hostess lives in the house on the hillside directly below "Casa Taormina" and is available at check in and check out, if necessary, and for any concerns or questions that arise during your stay! Key left in lock box for after-hour check-in, or in the event that hostess is not immediately available at check in or check out.

The neighborhood:
Opera Drive in Old Bisbee is ideal for its being tucked away and semi-private, while still having ready access to downtown entertainment, culture, shops and dining. Music from events at nearby City Park and the infamous Brewery Gulch can be heard drifting up the canyon on many a weekend afternoon and evening. And if you love hiking as I do, there are trails up into the mule mountains overlooking town accessible from the tops of most streets and staircases, including my own. Get a new perspective on town- and life-by hiking right out the back -or front- door of Casa Taormina!
Opera Drive is directly on the well-known and popular Bisbee Stair Climb route, with many visitors walking by on the street far below on any given weekend, or locals just getting some exercise.

If you are not familiar with Bisbee's layout, houses are built on the hillsides above and below each street, very European! There may be 3, 4, 5 or even more houses above street level at any given point. Casa Taormina is three houses (flights) above street level, with an empty lot and three additional houses above! Lucky for you though, Casa Taormina has a private, albeit narrow and steep (not suitable for very large vehicles) drive leading you right up to the house, so you don't have to climb three flights with luggage!
And, if you need something special for a meal at home, or some wine, beer or baked goods, fully stocked Mimosa Market is just a short walk down the end of Opera Drive with steps spilling down into Brewery Gulch. Mimosa Market even carries produce, homemade breads, fine cuts of meat and a selection of organic goods.

Getting around:
No need for public transit in Old Bisbee. Just park the car and walk downtown. Please note, again, that Bisbee is a mile high elevation and built on hills, so you WILL get your exercise walking around town! Make sure to stay hydrated, even in winter!
If you are without a vehicle, there are buses that come through town from Tucson, and the local Bisbee Bus (with stops downtown) has routes to outlying areas and the local Safeway supermarket most days. Also, the golf cart tours on Naco Road as you enter town offer local shuttle service (they'd shuttle you back home for a small fee after a night on the town if you're too tired to walk!)

Other Things to Note:
Casa Taormina is suitable for up to five guests (in a pinch), with one full-sized futon, one queen-sized bed, and a single foam mattress available for one additional guest on floor if necessary! It is not, however, suitable for very small children. The yard is not child safe, nor is the location or property handicap accessible.
Casa Taormina, like much of Bisbee, is in a canyon. As such, most cell service (Sprint/Verizon/AT&T) works fine, but please be aware that internet can sometimes be spotty.

Sunglow Retreat, nestled in the foothills of the Chiracahua Mountains at an altitude of 5800 ft. Enjoy stargazing far from the lights of towns or homes.

Our guesthouse is situated on Cottonwood Creek which runs seasonally. Hike for miles through evergreen oak, juniper, sycamores , enjoying the many forms of wildlife such as deer and wild turkeys. Enjoy watching our four rescue horses and Frijole, our resident donkey.

This was our 2nd stay at their home, and both times we found a dozen fresh eggs in the refrigerator from their chickens. They also rescue horses, mules, donkeys and these amazing animals will often greet you just beyond the spacious patio. Comfortable, light-filled house to enjoy your stay in Bisbee. Close to everything. Vista Park with great views into Mexico and the year-round farmers market is a ten minute walk. The historic Warren ballpark is close as well. Downtown Bisbee is a quick (8 min) drive away.

One thing is clear, Bisbee is a unique little town with so much to explore. Most people refer to it as “quirky”. And, our home is the perfect home base to start your exploration of the small town.

Start your day off having coffee on the front porch area of our home and enjoy the terrific views ranging from the immediate hills to your right to the far off distant hills to your left. Seasonally, you’ll see the morning mist trapped between the peaks.

And after you’re done the day of hiking, dining, nearby rock climbing, mining or ghost tours, come back to the home with a perfect view of the Bisbee “B” lit up on the hill. Grab a glass of wine and settle in to the Jacuzzi tub. Yeah, that’s what relaxing in Bisbee is all about!

Our home has a peaceful atmosphere which should make you feel at ease.

The street directly in front of the home has limited parking on a thin one way street with barely room for two lanes. If you have a smaller car, you can park almost directly in front of the home. However, we often park on a lower level parking area and walk a 1/2 block. That’s the charm of Bisbee: small streets, alleyways and so many stairs. You shouldn’t have an issue unless you are accustomed to parking feet from your living room.

At the home you’ll find a front yard area and pergola with seating and fantastic views. Inside you’ll find two bedrooms, living room/dining room area, fully stocked kitchen and two bathrooms: one with a Jacuzzi tub and the other with a shower.

But outside, around town, you’ll find all kinds of treasures. Use our home and spend your days getting to know the little town of Bisbee, with it’s amazing architecture, tiny shops and restaurants, friendly people, art galleries and endless stairs leading to all kinds of treasures displayed around the small town.

The interior felt modern, but it kept the feel of how the home may have been back in time. Furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was well outfitted. The front porch was comfortable and spacious. The driveway to the garage is very steep and narrow and low clearance vehicles may not make the climb - we encourage people to take advantage of the public parking area down the street if you are not comfortable with the situation.

**Please be respectful of the parking situation with neighbors. Sometimes, the turnaround at the end of our road is blocked by other vehicles. This then requires you to back down the street until you are able to turn around. We usually keep our full-size pickup parked in the public areas and park our Prius in the garage.

- "We really had no idea what to expect in Bisbee & it ended up to be a great trip. The stairs were a bit much for myself (73) & my husband (75) but they WERE very accurately described by the owner. We had a larger vehicle to accommodate the 4 of us & the dog & the streets & turns were difficult. Had a difficult time finding parking so once we did, we left the car there and walked down to Brewery Gulch and eating/shopping. The two older of us used Lyft/Uber to get back at night. Had to wait a while for the pick up. Bisbee could use more Lyft/Uber service. The home was very cozy with more amenities than you knew you needed! Very soft towels for showers & plenty of them. Had a little trouble with the air conditioning but the host was very responsive & sent someone (thanks Lisa!) out immediately. Great communication. Very unique town with a great view from the rental. King size room is dog free all the time, but full size room is not so if you are allergic to dogs, you dont want to sleep in full room.

Service dogs allowed fee free with proper credentials. *Update as of 8/1/18 AZ defines a service dog as a dog that performs a task for a disabled person not an emotional support animal.

- "Located well above the taller buildings of Old Town Bisbee, this terrific property quickly became a pleasant oasis during our busy visit. Yes, there are stairs, some of them steep. Yet each time we climbed, the journey seemed shorter than before, and we discovered we weren't breathing nearly as hard when we stepped inside. It didn't take long to feel healthier than when we arrived! The view is perfect, high enough to get a panoramic view of the surrounding hillsides and stately buildings of Bisbee, but just a few steps away from the energy of downtown with its many shops and restaurants. The room was just right in its size and furnishings. We enjoyed the quiet space inside, but often went outside to sit on the veranda overlooking the town, as well as an outdoor patio nestled in the trees. We were surprised to find the room outfitted with an actual record player - complete with vinyl record albums. We played music, talked a lot, yet somehow never found the time to turn on the TV. Very refreshing! We highly recommend this quaint property on the hill, and would like to thank our hosts for the clean, well cared for space we enjoyed so much."

- "Only drawback for me were all the stairs. I wasn't aware that Bisbee was built this way, i.e., lots of stairs and no other way of getting up the hills! The App for the apartment did show some stairs, but it wasn't clear just how many from that, and I did find that a bit daunting, having just gotten over surgery. But overall, the place was really great! Had every amenity, and it was very cozy. Great place for one person or a couple (probably younger than me). LOL! "

What we LOVE & Highlights:

The property is historic, charming, and modern. Although it’s small (812 sq ft), it feels like “home”, and the outside areas make it seem bigger. This house is perfect for couples, a small friends or family group, or a solo trip. We welcome one well behaved dog with a fee. Please let us know when you book so we can provide instructions as there are a few additional instructions for our puppy pals.

We are locals and take a lot of care with this house—we make sure everything is up to date and CLEAN and comfortable for guests. We pride ourselves on being responsive and keeping the house to high standards. We didn't want a cookie cutter rental with thrown together furniture, and you'll feel that when you stay here.

Pickleball courts, the Farmers Market, and the historic Warren Ballpark are all within a quick walking distance. Grab a burrito and coffee at the Warren Peace cafe and explore Vista Park for a lazy day nearby. Have a beer at Warren’s local brewery and enjoy a sensational dinner at the Copper Pig—just down the street. You’ll love it here and we hope Bisbee infects you just like it did us. Our favorite thing to do is walk to the Farmer's Market on Saturdays: my favorites include local goat cheese, micro greens, hummus, and fresh tamales! Everything you need to enjoy the afternoon in the backyard is at your fingertips. :)

The home contains two bedrooms, each with queen beds (and new memory foam mattresses), private closets, and blackout curtains. Fans and A/C in each bedroom makes sure you stay cool or warm and can be personally adjusted to suit your style. Each room has an alarm clock/charging set up. The bedrooms share a Jack and Jill full bath between them (shower AND bathtub), while the living room also has a half bath right at the entryway which allows for additonal privacy. While one bedroom is slightly bigger with a walk in closet, the other has a private entrace to the screened-in porch out front. Each has their own benefits and charm—choose your favorite! Heating is available not only with mini splits, but floor heating as well—keeping your toes nice and warm in the winter months.

The peaceful living room was built for conversation or reading after a day exploring nearby downtown or the area trails. Log in to your Netflix account using the smart TV and make yourself a drink or coffee.

The kitchen is up to date, fully stocked with essentials, with a butcher block countertop and subway tiles. Make dinner, coffee, or heat up leftovers—everything you could want is on hand. Stainless steel appliances complete the updated kitchen area.

There is a washer and dryer located discreetly off the kitchen area in a well placed & hidden closet.

The best feature of the home is the HUGE screened in front porch, which provides a view of the nearby mines and mountains. Relax on the porch with a drink or the backyard seating area and enjoy the funky Bisbee neighborhood this home is part of.

The backyard has a seating area and a propane grill for those looking to cookout. The backyard is fenced with privacy fencing and perfect to for keeping the littles and a dog contained.

Young children should be minded at the property due to high steps in the front of the house which creates a falling hazzard, and of course, unpredictable desert wildlife which is just part of living in Arizona. We love to have our children visit the house, but we keep the privacy door locked at the front to prevent injury.

House contains refrigerator, smart television, shower/bathtub, 5G (fast) internet, coffee maker with all the fixings, oven/stove, microwave and washer/dryer. Local pottery, art, and hiking guides will complete your stay and make it totally original. This place is our favorite place to unwind, we've put a lot of love into it, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do. It's one of a kind.

Ample parking out front for 2-3 vehicles.

Note: this home does not have a dishwasher. It’s just a little too old to accommodate one.

- "This abode is decorated cutely…love the brick wall! The hostess made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. This abode is above the Conucopia Cafe…which was delicious!!!The only thing is the fans could use a dusting and the hot water in the shower went cold very quickly. We recognize these buildings are old though. The stairs are VERY steep and parking was a bit tricky. The coffee shop is very near by…you can walk to it.We recommend the Ghost Cart ghost tour at night and as always, the Copper Mine tour.Ty again to our hostess!"
