The cabin includes high-speed fiber optic WiFi and TV service. Dog-friendly with a flat pet fee added after the rental agreement.
- "This property was nicely tucked away from the surrounding area with a nice rustic cabin feel and nice running water noises outside of the cabin. The only complaint if traveling with pets is the neighbor across the road has a dog that never shuts up and sounds a little intimidating to other smaller dogs but that is not at all the fault of the cabin owners." - "Cute, simple cabin with nice furnishings in a good location -- five minutes from some restaurants, 15 from Ohiopyle, 15 from Uniontown. Shower is weak and water is well-water -- just keep that in mind! Hot tub is in good repair. Pictures down't show it well but there *is* some nice outdoor seating, a place for a fire, and good parking (though a 2-wheel-drive is gonna struggle if weather is bad)."

Please read all the way to the bottom and include the information I ask for with your booking request.
I am an on-site host. My house is across the driveway from the cabin.
This recently renovated log cabin has everything, including a fantastic location! Close to Nemacolin Resort and Spa, Casino and golf course, Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water and Kentuck Knob, and all the great outdoor activities that the Laurel Highlands has to offer, including hiking, rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, zip-lining, and tourism.
This 1000 sq. ft hand-built log cabin has one bedroom (queen bed) and one bathroom, with a queen pull-out couch in the living room, as well as a sleeping loft with a full-size mattress. A large, well-equipped kitchen, coupled with comfortable furnishings and eclectic decor, provides guests with a cozy, comfortable environment, and a
relaxing getaway.
We supply shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for guests , and we try to keep some extra toothbrushes on hand just in case.
**Please be sure to have your log-in information available if you want to use the TV to stream TV shows and movies. There's no cable service, just the smart TV. There's good WiFi in the cabin.
The cabin is on public water- not well water. There's a Brita filter pitcher in the fridge.
For visitors in winter, the cabin is located in between a PennDot shelter and Route 40, so plows have to pass the cabin to go anywhere, i.e. the road is usually plowed early and often.
For summer visitors, the cabin is surrounded by mature trees. It is generally cooler in the cabin than it is outdoors, and there are fans in every room.
The outdoor space is great- there's a covered porch to hang out in, and also a fire circle. We have camp chairs that you can use by the fire circle.
The entire cabin and fenced back yard are yours. The driveway is shared with your host.
Please pull all the way up to the shed to park and PLEASE don't block the driveway!!
Please be aware that while the cabin was recently renovated, it's got some old bones, so things are not square, there are some rough finishes here and there, and logs don't look as neat and clean as drywall. What you will get is a comfortable, cozy and clean space to stay. Please ask me questions- if you have any- prior to booking.
This is a rural environment. You may encounter the occasional spider or ant in the house, even though it is cleaned thoroughly. You may even encounter a mouse (I hope not), but this is the country and they do try to come in ;-)
While this house is somewhat set back from the road, and brand new windows provide some sound insulation, you will hear the sound of trucks and cars driving down the road. You may also hear: dogs barking, roosters crowing, my neighbor shooting guns, lawn equipment and chain saws at almost any hour of the day. This is the country, and that's what people do here. There's a sump pump in the basement that will run when it rains or has been raining. You'll hear it kick on and off, but it's not too loud.
Please include with your booking request a short introduction, names of guests, and your reason for coming to the area. Please also confirm that you have reviewed the property details carefully. Thank you
** I do not allow any third-party reservations. The person who booked must be on the reservation and stay on the property. You cannot book this property for someone else. No exceptions.
**** Many, many thanks to Roy Bales and Tom Savage for their patience and dedication and excellent craftsmanship. They brought this cabin back to life.
- "My new wife and I spent a week at Kaya's cabin for our honeymoon, and it was fantastic! The cabin was cute and cozy, and it is only a short drive to Ohiopyle (our main attraction). Kaya was excitable, personable, and professional. We made pizza the first night and asked about a pizza cutter. Kaya said she didn't have one, and then the next day, told us she had ordered one. When asking about check-out protocol (primarily discussing clean up), she told us not to worry ourselves with any of it, and that it was her duty. We will definitely strongly consider staying with Kaya again in the future!"

- "We had a nice time. Very clean room." - "We had a wonderful trip to the Ohiopyle region. Lovely historic building and spectacular food at the Stone House Inn! Our only minor complaint was the traffic noise from route 40." - "This is an old inn and the interior maintains much of its original architecture. There is a dining room and a bar which were quite convenient during our stay (not open for breakfast). There is a simple continental breakfast (not advertised). There is no scenic landscaping - the area arround the inn is a dusty parking lot. The Braddock room was very noisy due to road noise (as an old inn it is right beside a fairly busy road). In addition, an outdoor road light was visible through the window all night and it seemed like we had a light on in the room. We were unable to sleep well. We were scheduled for a two-night stay. We were able to move to a room away from the road for the second night. We appreciate the quick resolution to our issue. The second room (Harriett Tubman) was better."

- "Stopped at the Stone House Inn after a day of winter hiking in Ohiopyle. Our group of 4 friends had an incredible experience at the inn- the location was convenient for traveling in Ohiopyle, and the rooms were cozy with some great history. Games and breakfast were provided, dessert at the restaurant was amazing, and we were so pleasantly surprised. We will absolutely come back!" - "Loved the preservation of historic sites, people & events. A little awkward checking in and lugging in suitcases during the dinner rush. Room was comfortable-- thankfully, it was a cool night as we didn't see any air conditioner in our room. However, very basic amenities. Some simple enhancements could go a long way (ie no bright yellow extension cord under the area rug, some overhead lamps, shelf for roku box vs dangling from the cords). Overall, pleasant and accomodating lodging. "

- "Property was clean and beautiful! Would definitely stay again. The restaurant had fabulous food!" - "I will not be returning to, nor recommend, this listing to others. The room's door lock was broken, the bathroom vent fan did not work, and the WIFI did not work. How can you rent out a room where the front door lock is broken!? While we received a refund for our second night, as we had no intention of staying there, no plans to return in the future. "
