Thanks for taking good care of us." - "I decided, at the VERY last minute, to stay in Western PA on my way from Columbus to Baltimore. Not a lot was available (I wasn't being very picky) but this place had one room left, and it looked very colorful, bold, and intriguing, so I booked it. And OH MY WORD, I am SO glad I did. This house is incredible. I could have stayed a week studying all the art and reading the books and researching the history. The room had all kinds of interesting Civil War and Titanic era items on display-- it was like staying at a museum. I've visited the Biltmore several times and I really felt like I was staying at a place on par with it. I felt straight up regal taking a jacuzzi bath and climbing into a tall, velvety bed. The room I was in had a side room with a bookcase and secretary desk and balcony-- there was a safe hidden behind a painting--I felt like I was a queen in an escape room in the best way possible. The amenities were so clean, the house was beautifully decorated, and the attention to detail blew me away. I loved that even with all the history and honoring the past (the skeleton keys to the rooms are the original locks!), I got to enjoy my modern comforts of streaming TV and free WiFi. Pat and her nephew, Mike, were incredible hosts-- breakfast was amazing and I felt like royalty enjoying it by myself at the lavish dining room table as classical music played! I was living out a regal fantasy I didn't even know I HAD. I couldn't have scripted out a better stay if I tried. If you are looking for a unique stay that will come with a story that your friends will only believe if you send them pictures, I highly recommend this place! We did not find good restaurants within 2 miles. However, some fast food chains are very close, including McDonald's and Dairy Queen (which provides excellent burgers.) The front desk staff are very nice and friendly. The Lodge does have a quiet rule after 10pm. However, the front desk is closed during the night so when some young guests kept making very loud noises till very late on Friday night, no one came out to force the rule."

Ordinarily, a Comfort Inn wouldn't be on my radar, but based on what I've seen, I wouldn't hesitate to stay there if visiting Connellsville and I couldn't get a room at Chateau Connellsville. "

Additional creek-side cabin (only available April 1- November 1 - $85/night plus $50 cleaning fee) - 1 bedroom, 1 double sleep sofa,1 full bath, dry kitchenette

We never rent the creek-side cabin separately from the main cottage. If you do not need to rent it, you will still have access to the creek-side deck.

Welcome to your home away from home! Located back from a rural road directly on a murmuring creek, this quaint cottage has an updated, fully stocked kitchen with stainless appliances and an island where you can sit in the morning to enjoy your coffee and look out over the creek and rhododendron. The kitchen also features a living area, and a large window seat great for bird-watching or looking at the babbling brook. You may be lucky enough to see deer coming to the creek for a drink. The property also features a goldfish pond with lily pads and frogs. All rooms are on the same level except for the enclosed sun room which is one step down. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, two reading lamps with USB charging ports, a full-length mirror, closet, and large dresser. Around the corner is a full bath with a shower/tub combo. The sunroom has a couch, large table and chairs, and a TV. We do not provide cable, but we have WiFi, and a Roku to stream your favorite shows. The living room has a queen sleep sofa, comfy chair, and a gas fireplace with remote. The washer and dryer are in the half bath off the kitchen.

Outdoors, you will find expansive lawns (perfect for playing cornhole, which is provided), flowerbeds, a goldfish pond, a cement table and benches with umbrella overlooking the creek, a large deck overlooking the creek attached to the creek-side cabin, a large cement patio with gazebo, picnic table, five-person hot tub, and bar set with umbrella. There is also a large fire pit with chairs.

We only rent the creek-side cabin in addition to the cottage during the summer and shoulder seasons for an additional fee of $85 per night. Not available during winter. It has a double bed, a full bath, and a microwave, coffee pot, and dorm size refrigerator. The large deck overlooking the creek is available even if you do not rent the additional cabin.

Nestled along a creek, with a koi pond, fire pit and covered picnic area with a hot tub, and a deck over the water (in front of the small cabin that we did not rent, but the deck was available to us, it was our family oasis for a few days. This home is currently being remodeled. The bedrooms, full bath, and laundry room are completed, but living room and kitchen are still under construction. Completely functional, but we are still in the process of designing and finishing some areas.

Formerly a one room schoolhouse built in 1876, this building was bought by a local family in 1955 and converted to a two story residence. Perfectly situated on a beautiful acre, this home offers a private outdoor seating area and deck, fire pit and unique "Pub Shed". Conveniently located near several major highways including the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Routes 70, 66, and 119. Just 35 miles southeast of Pittsburgh, it's a quick drive into the city, or to the Laurel Highlands historic districts of Ligonier and Latrobe, and the popular ski resorts of Seven Springs and Hidden Valley.

If you have an event in Pittsburgh, a quick hop onto the turnpike and you're in the city in 40 minutes! New Stanton is major intersection joining Rte 119 South toward Morgantown, WV; Rte 70 West toward Wheeling WV, Rte 70 East toward Somerset, Bedford and Harrisburg, and Rte 66 North toward Delmont.

***The outside fire pit and pub shed are available when the host is present and the weather is cooperative. This means that at the host's discretion there may be a fire and the pub shed may be open for lounging and karaoke. Otherwise feel free to use the seating area to relax.

- "We were looking for a gathering place for 4 college women to get together to relax and unwind as well as catch up on each other's lives without spending a fortune. This 2 bed room converted school house has good character. It is still in the process of being remodeled, but fully functional. We spent most of our time sitting around the kitchen table sharing meals and having wine or in the back yard table having coffee and the enjoying the sunshine. To our surprise, Chet convinced us to try Karaoke Friday night and we all started singing and dancing in his pub area. Good times for sure. We visited a local winery, 2 parks for hiking and went out to a local church. This was a nice, quiet place to gather. Chet went above and beyond to bring an extra twin bed into one of the bedrooms so we each had our own sleeping space. This was very much appreciated. I am not sure if we would be back in the New Stanton area, but if we did, we would visit again."
