Lake Almanor is located 165 miles north of Sacramento, nestled amongst the pines where the Cascade Mountains meet the Sierra Nevadas. At elevation 4500 feet it is the third largest manmade lake in California and best known for its prime hunting and fishing grounds.

There are two golf courses on the lake, Bailey Creek in the peninsula & a nine hole at Lake Almanor West. OK, we're fishermen, not golfers! Mount Lassen National Park is just 26 miles away, has hiking (to the top!), picnicking, and very scenic views. Play tennis in the peninsula or bike around the lake (many other trails for cycling to choose from).

This cozy home is situated on the east shore of Hwy 147. Just about the middle of the 8 mile strip at 3907 Hwy 147, Lake Almanor, CA 96137. Enjoy sunsets on the deck or fish right off the dock. Bring your boat, there's plenty of excellent fishing holes around. During the summer months we rent Friday to Friday. Truly is a nice spot on the lake.

Shopping and antiquing can be found in all the quaint old fashioned towns around the area. Dine out in Chester, the peninsula, try Westwood's famous Buffalo Chips Pizzeria ("Cabin Fever" is our favorite).

My wife and our Aussie cattle dog spent a wonderful week: jumping off the dock into the lake, reading and napping, eating breakfast and dinner on the back deck, watching each day’s sun set behind Mt. Lassen, all with the very comfortable cabin at our disposal. The cabin is furnished with everything needed aside from personal items and food. It was very clean and well organized without being overbearing. Deborah has thought of most everything and her instructions are clear and easy to comply with. There is train noise from up the hill that surprised us the first time but soon was a normal part of the day. Traffic on the street can be heard in the front bedroom if the window is open but it’s not constant – and if the air is on - the window should be closed :-) Our host Deborah was quick to respond to the one issue we had and made every effort to insure we had a positive outcome. An aside for golfers: we golfed twice at Lake Almanor Country Club and found it welcoming, picturesque, and easy to get to from the cabin. A five-star review! Gene and Brigid"

Five minutes from a small town and away from the main corrals and house on the ranch, this home is truly a get away. Quiet and peaceful. This 1950’s ranch home is nestled in the the trees with beautiful views out every window. Deer, turkey and other wildlife can be seen regularly. Great hiking trail right out the back door. Beautifully decorated with every necessity. You have full access to the ranch including swimming in the summer. The home has three large bedrooms, all with king beds plus three bathrooms. There is also a den/media room with a sofa sleeper. The large living room has big, picture windows that look out to a wildlife area. Outside you will find a private patio with dining gazebo, camp fire area and grill.

The location was a great jumping off point from which we visited Lake Almanor, Indian Falls, and Lassen National Park. Things to note: Wifi only worked if you were right next to it, not in any of the bedrooms. No lights in long hall (pitch black) at night so with small children I'd recommend a plug-in nightlight. Also, the sprinklers come on around 9 or so which caught us by surprise (LOL) as we were looking at stars around the fire pit."

This cabin is constructed of authentic logs and is nestled in the trees right on the west shore of Lake Almanor. It has one room with a queen bed and a second room with two twins. It also has a full sleeper sofa in the living room. The kitchen is fully stocked, including refrigerator, oven/stove, micro, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans, plates, cups, cooking/eating utensils. The bathroom has a sink, toilet, and shower/tub combo. The cabin also comes with satellite television, internet, propane fireplace, and charcoal bbq. There is a large, comfortable, covered deck out front with outside seating/table. This cabin looks directly over Lake Almanor and has amazing views of Mount Lassen.
