- "My sister got to the property before me and there were extra guests the owner of the property got in contact with me to let me know what was happening and told me to get everyone out or my stay would be terminated I got to the house and mad everyone leave . There was only 2 people in the house and my 2 year old son and he asked us to leave after he told me if I got everyone out I could stay. It was 1 am and I did everything he asked me to do. "

- "As we (hubby and I) write this review, we notice that the pictures of the property have been updated, and are different than the pictures posted (that we relied upon) when we booked our stay. Many of the disappointments in the property that we wanted to warn potential future tenants are now pictured, although, probably not easily identified by those eager to secure a rental. Therefore, our review is based on our experience. There is no central Air Conditioning. This should be disclosed! When we checked in, it was HOT inside. There is a portable a/c unit by the entry door, and there is a window a/c unit in the master bedroom. We turned both on shortly after our arrival. The second bedroom had a floor fan, but no a/c. The first night we were there, our family sleeping in the second BR were miserably hot, all night. We had to leave the master BR door open (sacrificing our privacy) so we could "share" our window a/c with the rest of the house. The smell of cat/pet urine is overwhelming. Every time we entered the property, the foul odor overtook us. We are cat and dog lovers (but did not bring any pets) but it was hard to get past the strong pet waste odors. The dishwasher doesn't work. The sign on the dishwasher stating "Sorry...OUT OF ORDER" was not disclosed before we rented. This matters to us, because we normally do a lot of cooking and eating together as a family; but confronted with the prospect of hand washing dishes on “vacation” changed our plans. Also not previously disclosed was a picture of a 2nd refrigerator crowding the kitchen, which essentially renders the table useless. There is no "eat in kitchen". There is simply not enough room to comfortably use the kitchen/dining table at all, much less sitting 4-6 people for a family meal together. I could go on, but will wrap up with a minor rant: the master BR closet was apparently off limits to tenants (also not previously disclosed). There was a sign posted on the closet doors "Owner's CLOSET * DO NOT OPEN *". As ridiculous as that was, we respected the command, and did not use, or even open the closet. That leaves the tenants in the master BR with no place to hang clothes. At the price point, and for the (lack of) features, we would not recommend this property to anyone. The owner was prompt in responding to our questions (there were no garbage bags in the property), but there is no level of civility that makes up for the property's lack of appeal."

Top of the line bedding and linens for a great night's rest, indoor and outdoor fireplace with plenty of provided fire wood, brand new Weber gas grill with full tank of provided, and an enormous kitchen with farmhouse table for up 12ppl for entertaining and preparation.

The host was very accommodating and helped answer our questions and requests. The location was perfect to visit family as well as taking the train into NYC to see a Broadway show. Also, a short ride to Robert Moses beach. We would definitely stay here again."

Set on a private 17-acre freshwater Lake in the bustling village of Patchogue, Long Island, NY. The elevated stance of our mid-century craftsman-style home provides commanding views of sunrise, swans, and a vast variety of birds. With a total of four over sized bedrooms, three offering amazing direct waterfront views and privacy, comfort and convenience the Lake House offers accommodations for up to 10 guests. The Red Room, with its lake views, has a new queen bed with an en suite bathroom. The Blue room offers corner breezes, water views of over 180 degrees, a queen bed, and has a spacious private bathroom with a tub and shower just across the hall. An additional bonus room for larger families offers up to two queen beds (1 inflatable queen) suitable for young adults (over the age of 8 please) this room would share the main hall bathroom with the Blue room, or the red room (if they want to share ) The Master bedroom is on the main level with a wall of windows facing the lake, its warm hand-scraped hickory floors and restoration hardware sleigh bed provides a welcomed retreat. Our home has a lakefront dining room with a craftsman table that can accommodate up to 14 people, adjoining is a beautiful living room with plenty of seating to entertain. Our sunken den has floor-to-ceiling windows that face the lake and provides the best viewing of the abundant wildlife that visit us throughout the day. It has a large L shape leather sofa from where you can enjoy the views or simply watch TV on a rainy evening. Cooking in our open-style kitchen is relaxing and you can still entertain while cooking in our 40 ft waterfront room. Our bar height kitchen table offers seats for 4 or more people.
