The cottage is located behind the Main House, in a private setting with easy access to everything the lake, and the surrounding Litchfield Hills have to offer. The house boasts two fireplaces, a deck, picnic area, stone terrace, and a private lawn area.
The living room has a cathedral ceiling, a paneled fireplace, built-in storage and bookcases, a TV, and comfortable seating. The open kitchen is convenient to both indoor and outdoor dining areas. The Master Bedroom has French doors opening to the stone terrace, as well as a fireplace, and an adjoining bathroom. The second bedroom is furnished with twin beds and has access to a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub and shower. There is also an open office/work area with internet access, where one can set-up a laptop and printer. Air-conditioning units are provided and the house has wide-board pine floors throughout.
The Cottage tenants have access to the waterfront and dock, which is shared with the Main House, and is located at the base of the driveway, across the road. The tenants also have the use of a solo/tandem kayak. The Lake Waramaug community takes pride in the meticulously maintained water quality and scenic views around the lake.
The charming New Preston village is a short bike ride away with shops and restaurants specializing in locally grown produce. And, the Hopkins Winery is a great choice for a late afternoon wine tasting.
Annual events on the lake include July 4th fireworks, college and prep school crew regattas, triathlons, and numerous road and bike races.

A historic 1755, home with tremendous upgrades is available for this coming Fall leaf & winter/ ski season. This 2200 sq. foot home features three full bedrooms and three full baths and a finished basement. This house can accommodate up to six people.

The home has two fireplaces, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, formal dining room and two car garage. It is located on a state maintained road for the snowy winter season. The home is twenty minutes to Mohawk Mountain ski and forty minutes to Massachusetts. swimming is also close by at Lake Waramug.

For the non skiers, historic Kent Ct. is five minutes away and it is a twenty minute drive to lovely Litchfield Ct.

Well equipped kitchen and bathroom, plenty of space for our family of four." - "Clean, well laid-out. Wonderful, helpful proprietor. It's the whole second floor of a large, 19th century house. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides, so there is privacy for a family or two couples -- but note that there is there is only one (very nice) bathroom. Eat-in kitchen and a nice living space. No TV, but good wifi. You can walk to a number of good restaurants, and either walk or short drive to a good, small supermarket and a hardware store that has Everything. Easy access to the numerous parks and trails in the area, and a long day-trip or easier overnight to NYC is possible using the commuter train about 20 minutes away in Pawling NY."

Equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the house sparkled with cleanliness and meticulous care. The beds were an invitation to pure relaxation after a day of exploration. Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, the location couldn't have been better. Short drives to Kent and New Milford with quaint taverns and delicious restaurants. Even rainy days held their own charm – the covered front porch became a cozy haven to watch the downpour. For evenings in, if you didn’t want to watch a movie or TV, you have a selection of games and puzzles, providing endless entertainment. A delightful bonus was the private garage parking. The responsive and welcoming host truly made the difference. Her thoughtful gesture of checking in to ensure our comfort, along with the surprise of fresh flowers, candies, and a bottle of wine upon arrival, added a touch of magic to our stay. Everything felt special. Beyond the house itself, the area offered stunning natural beauty. We took a hike along a scenic trail bordering the Housatonic River, part of the Appalachian Trail. Another day was dedicated to playing golf in New Milford. Needless to say, this haven won us over completely. We wouldn't hesitate to return for another memorable escape."

- "This is the country home I wish I had, and stepping in, it felt just like that: very welcoming, EVERYTHING we could possibly need located where I would logically expect to find it. By far the most gorgeous house I have ever rented in a decade on VRBO. The house was spotless, decorated with perfect taste, and so comfortable: great beds, soft linens. It was 7 of us yet we all our space. The grownups enjoyed the shade of the huge umbrella outside while the kids spent $15 worth of quarters at the air hockey table (please note that the quarters were provided by our host and that the game is only 25 cents, so yes, they liked it a lot!). We went to Quassy park with the kiddos, another huge hit as well, and melted s'mores at night. This was a heavenly parenthesis in our busy lives, we look forward to renting this beautiful house again soon, could not have had a better stay!"

Bright and comfortable, our one level, midcentury home is surrounded by 4 acres of nature gardens and forest, with a secluded pool for relaxing in the warmer months. The interior includes hardwood flooring, living room fireplace, spacious sun room, and well stocked kitchen. There are 3 large bedrooms, the primary bedroom pampers with an amazing remodeled bathroom. The comfortable floor plan makes it easy to share public space while offering plenty of private areas. There is a private office for remote working. Relaxation is offered in all parts of the house and grounds. Try the screened in porch for evening dining, or morning coffee on the light filled deck or rest yourself poolside hidden in the secret garden. Gardens burst full of color here, with 60-year-old rhododendrons and abundant annuals including irises and peonies. Winding paths along ancient stone walls and woods full of bird life make this an easy place to find peace and respite. Close to East Hamlet Preserve for hiking, Lake Waramaug beach for swimming and only 10 minutes to Kent town center’s variety of restaurants and shopping. 4 miles to Warren and 25 mins to nearest train station into NYC.
