A historic 1755, home with tremendous upgrades is available for this coming Fall leaf & winter/ ski season. This 2200 sq. foot home features three full bedrooms and three full baths and a finished basement. This house can accommodate up to six people.

The home has two fireplaces, a gourmet eat-in kitchen, formal dining room and two car garage. It is located on a state maintained road for the snowy winter season. The home is twenty minutes to Mohawk Mountain ski and forty minutes to Massachusetts. swimming is also close by at Lake Waramug.

For the non skiers, historic Kent Ct. is five minutes away and it is a twenty minute drive to lovely Litchfield Ct.
Both of these charming New England towns offer shopping and dining.

Well equipped kitchen and bathroom, plenty of space for our family of four." - "Clean, well laid-out. Wonderful, helpful proprietor. It's the whole second floor of a large, 19th century house. The two bedrooms are on opposite sides, so there is privacy for a family or two couples -- but note that there is there is only one (very nice) bathroom. Eat-in kitchen and a nice living space. No TV, but good wifi. You can walk to a number of good restaurants, and either walk or short drive to a good, small supermarket and a hardware store that has Everything. Easy access to the numerous parks and trails in the area, and a long day-trip or easier overnight to NYC is possible using the commuter train about 20 minutes away in Pawling NY."

Our new MCM studio apartment has a vaulted ceiling, full kitchen, electric fireplace, bathroom with heated floor and beautiful views. Located on a private lane, it has self check in and a private entrance, patio looking out to the fields. It is a separate structure from our home.

Even rainy days held their own charm – the covered front porch became a cozy haven to watch the downpour. For evenings in, if you didn’t want to watch a movie or TV, you have a selection of games and puzzles, providing endless entertainment. A delightful bonus was the private garage parking. The responsive and welcoming host truly made the difference. Her thoughtful gesture of checking in to ensure our comfort, along with the surprise of fresh flowers, candies, and a bottle of wine upon arrival, added a touch of magic to our stay. Everything felt special. Beyond the house itself, the area offered stunning natural beauty. We took a hike along a scenic trail bordering the Housatonic River, part of the Appalachian Trail. Another day was dedicated to playing golf in New Milford. Needless to say, this haven won us over completely. We wouldn't hesitate to return for another memorable escape."

Tucked against a hillside, on a quiet street you will find a home to rest and recharge in. Nestled between the quaint towns of New Milford and Kent, we are in the heart of antique shopping, such as the famous Elephants Trunk flea market and delicious restaurants such as the Old Oak Tavern that is within walking distance.

Although not visible from the house, the sounds of the Housatonic River can be be heard from the front covered porch and you can find fishing spots by simply driving down the scenic dirt road or one of the local hiking spots.

The home is also conveniently located 30 minutes from both Mohawk and Thunder Ridge Ski Mountains and numerous trails for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.

Inside you will find a well appointed home with cozy nooks and space to spread out despite its smaller size. A large kitchen with island seating and plenty of storage is a pleasure to cook in. A designated dining table comfortably sits 4-6 with extra chairs available if needed. Although the downstairs fireplace is not functional at this time, there is a large soaking tub for relaxing. The living spaces and primary bedrooms are heated and cooled by a split system and the spare bedrooms by fans and space heaters as needed.

This home has four sleeping spaces and two full baths. The four bedrooms upstairs include two queen bedrooms and two singles, one which is currently set up as an office with a day bed but could certainly be used as a bedroom. A pack n play can be provided upon request but please bring your own bedding. The upstairs bathroom includes a large soaking tub for relaxing.

The house shares the property with a studio apartment above the garage where the caretakers live should you need anything, otherwise they will leave you alone. You will be sharing a driveway with them but have your own entrance and outdoor dining area next to the front porch.

- "This is the country home I wish I had, and stepping in, it felt just like that: very welcoming, EVERYTHING we could possibly need located where I would logically expect to find it. By far the most gorgeous house I have ever rented in a decade on VRBO. The house was spotless, decorated with perfect taste, and so comfortable: great beds, soft linens. It was 7 of us yet we all our space. The grownups enjoyed the shade of the huge umbrella outside while the kids spent $15 worth of quarters at the air hockey table (please note that the quarters were provided by our host and that the game is only 25 cents, so yes, they liked it a lot!). We went to Quassy park with the kiddos, another huge hit as well, and melted s'mores at night. This was a heavenly parenthesis in our busy lives, we look forward to renting this beautiful house again soon, could not have had a better stay!"

Recently renovated, our home offers beauty and comfort with furnishings from Arhaus, Pottery Barn and West Elm.

Our new kitchen has all the tools a chef would need including brand new Cafe appliances and triple filtered water. The dining table very comfortably seats six. The kitchen, dining room and living room all offer views of the lawn and pond, with three sliding glass doors that lead out to a deck.

On the backside of the home, the office, powder room and sitting area offer views of the woods and the babbling brook below.

Upstairs you will find a primary en suite with a seperate area set up as a nursery - with a bassinet, crib, changing table and rocker it's convenient for families with little ones- two guest bedrooms - all bedrooms complete with blackout curtains - and a second full bath.

Please note, for the safety of our property and to monitor the utilities in our home we have exterior cameras, as well as a camera in the basement to monitor the electrical box, water heater, and other mechanics of the home. The basement is not intended for guest use.

Our Little Creek Cabin is a place to pause. The cabin is located next to a rushing creek, where you can soak in a wood fired hot tub while listening to the sounds of the water. We are minutes from Candlewood Lake & Squantz Pond, where you take take our kayaks out. There are many wineries, breweries, towns to explore, antique shops, ski mountains, and beautiful hiking trails. Here you can simply open the windows to listen to natures sound machine!

Welcome to The Little Creek Cabin!

Built in 1930, The Little Creek Cabin sits nestled next to the Wimisink Brook, where you can listen to the sounds of the flowing water all day long.
Nearby, you’ll find many cute Connecticut towns to explore. Kent, New Milford, Washington, and New Preston are just a few of our favorites. Candlewood Lake & Squantz Pond State Park are a short drive away, where you can spend the day at the beach, rent a boat, or bring our inflatable kayaks to get out on the water.
If hiking is your thing, you’ll find endless nearby trails. Just down the road, you’ll also find many antique stores and the famous Elephant’s Trunk Flea Market.

LOCATION
The cabin sits right next to Route 39, a main road with daytime noise. There is a speed limit of 40mph. This does not affect the privacy you will experience but we want to make sure all guests are aware of the location before booking. There will be car noise with windows open or while outside, but the sounds of the creek with drown out most of it.

Outside, our wood-fired hot tub is a show-stopper. Located right next to the creek, it`s where you can come to relax and soak away the day. You can also hang out in the hammock and listen to the sounds of the creek.
Roast s’mores in our stone fire pit while listening to the creek. A BBQ grill and picnic table are where you can gather and soak in the sun. On the porch, you’ll find a small table and chairs— the perfect place to enjoy the creek with your morning coffee.
Enjoy our creekside outdoor shower! It’s the perfect place to rinse off after splashing in the creek.

Inside, our cozy cabin is filled with tons of morning light. The living room has the most comfortable sofa (it turns into a bed!), pellet stove, and tv with any streaming service you may need. If you want to unplug you`ll find plenty of board games, books, and a Bluetooth record player.

The kitchen is stocked with almost anything you’ll need during your stay. We provide some basic spices, bakeware, cookware, etc.

The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, desk, and chair. Here you can work from home, or leave all your work at home…
There’s a large closet, with plenty of space to store clothing and luggage.

The large bathroom has a bath tub, shower, and is stocked with Public Goods toiletries.

We provide robes, perfect for the hot tub. We also provide a s’mores kit for the fire pit—marshmallows, chocolate bars, graham crackers, roasting sticks, and all :-)

Your first fire is on us!
We provide one bundle of firewood per stay. For more firewood, any local gas station or grocery store will have some.

The entire house & property is available for you to use. You can access the home 24/7 during your stay with the door keypad.

Just 90 mins from NYC and 2.5 hours from Boston, the creek cabin is located near some of our favorite towns. New Milford, Sherman, and Kent are just minutes away. You’ll find plenty of groceries stores, local shops, and restaurants nearby.
There are awesome hikes, and waterfalls to explore.

—The nearby beaches do not allow pets in the summer. Squantz Pond allows dogs October- April. We are always happy to provide pet friendly recommendations, so just let us know!

—There is parking for 1 or 2 cars. The driveway slopes down and can be tricky for cars lower to the ground. If this is an issue you can park parallel to the road on the grassy area.

If we find lighter fluid was used there will be a $350 fine— the use of lighter fluid is extremely dangerous to use on our property and in the hot tub, and would require extensive cleaning to remove it.

DO NOT USE WOOD IN THE INDOOR FIREPLACE
We provide pellets for the pellet stove— using wood will cause damage.

There will be a $100 fine for checking out late without prior approval.

There will be a $500 fine for smoking of any kind INSIDE the property.
We absolutely DO NOT allow smoking inside.

-We have a 4-person MAXIMUM to stay at the cabin.
If you plan on having more people than you originally booked you must let us know! (Max 4 people at all times)
The cabin is not suitable for more than that.

Do not leave any fires unattended!

Do not flush anything other than toilet paper and waste down the toilet. We are on a septic system, so putting anything else down the toilet can cause serious problems to our septic.

Pets are not allowed in the hot tub. It is for human use only.

We love animals and wanted to allow pets in our cabin, but to do so we need to add a few rules.

—Please pick up after your pet in the yard.
—If something becomes broken or damaged you will be responsible for repairing/replacing it.
—We have rodent bait boxes around the exterior. Even though they are tamper proof, please be mindful of that.
—Be aware that coyotes, foxes, and bears live in the area.
—Please do not leave pets unattended. We are not held liable to anything your pet gets into during your stay.
By booking with us you confirm that you take full responsibility of your pets safety during your stay.

These rules are in place for the safety of our guests and neighbors. We spent many months renovating the cabin and put so much into making it what it is, so we would like to keep it that way.

We understand that accidents happen, so we just ask that you treat our cabin as you would your own home.

You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and your guest for the consequences of those risks. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against the owner for accidents or claims arising from your guests’ use of the hot tub.

Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place, 1 mile from Kent, CT. The house is cozy with a stone fireplace, wonderful screened in porch with skylights, two bedrooms, spacious living room with desk, full bath, back porch with fire-pit, grill and table and laundry in the basement. It's perfect for four but our dining room can convert to a spare bedroom as the door shuts and the table folds down. The kitchen is well stocked and we've cooked many meals!

The space
Our home is on .5 acres with a large front yard and fenced in backyard. Our favorite spot to hang out is the screened in porch. We have a spacious living room with a wood burning fireplace, a dining room that can convert to a 3rd bedroom, a well stocked kitchen, a full bath and two bedrooms (1 queen and 1 with two twins). The basement (un-finished with low-hanging pipes) has a washer and dryer.

Guest access
Kent is a walkable town but despite being only a mile away, you will need a car to get there. There is ample parking in our driveway, enough for three cars.

Other things to note
The home is residential and we ask that you please respect our neighbors. This is a perfect spot for families or small getaways with friends but not for large gatherings or parties.

Please note that considering we are in the country, mice may make an appearance. While we do the best we can to prevent that from happening (and do not see them frequently), we cannot guarantee it.

While the backyard is fenced, there are some small gaps (near trees and uneven land) and dogs should not be left unattended.

Kent is a stunning place to visit and we hope you can rest and recharge during your stay. We sure do! Please make yourself at home and enjoy.

Take in a breathe of fresh air at this unique and tranquil getaway. Our cabin is not recommended for individuals looking for a place with wifi. Guests are guaranteed to feel rejuvenated and recharged after their stay at the cabin!

The space
The cabin is the original of the neighboring four cabins beginning as a single log cabin fishing retreat in the early nineteen hundreds. This cabin now consists of a large screened-in front porch, living room, kitchen and bathroom. With one sleeping space off the kitchen area and the others in the living room, guests will be able to fully enjoy each other’s company. Guests will have the option of using the queen bed located off the kitchen area or two pull-out queen sized futons located in the living room. As a safety precaution, we ask that guests stay out of the attic with its low ceiling and storage for unused items.

Guest access
Guests will have full access to the cabin property and the land north of the cabin, please avoid walking toward cabins three and four. The waterfront has a stationary dock and floating dock for your use along with a two person paddle boat attached to the stationary dock. There is an aluminum row boat available upon request. Be advised that Hatch Pond is full of life with pond vegetation and a variety of fish, turtles and waterfowl along with insects and other wildlife that you should be mindful of while visiting their habitats.

Other things to note
As described in the title, this listing is for the adventurous only! Our cabin is rustic and solely for guests who enjoy the beauty of the natural world.

This is one of four cabins situated on the northwest corner of the pond. The two cabins to the south are other owners and we ask all your walking is toward the north and west, up the hill in dense forest or back on the roadway you drove in on.
Be advised this cabin has no wifi. While we do have running water and a beautiful waterfront property, we want to warn all guests that our cabin has no electricity. We do provide a Goal Zero solar battery powered unit where guests can charge some devices and use overhead lighting for late night hours for as long as the charged battery holds power. Personal headlamps or flashlights are great for your evening visual assistance, it gets dark here!
The inside and outside running water is Hatch Pond water and is not for consumption, the Poland Spring water dispenser on the kitchen counter is for all drinking and cooking, we provide two 5 gallon containers and refills are available for purchase in town at Kent Ace Hardware if needed.

Welcome to our Kent home! Our sunny yellow house is tucked up away from the street on a tree-filled knoll. It's the perfect home base from which to explore Kent's galleries, shops and restaurants. 15 minutes from skiing at Mohawk Mountain in the winter, or 15 minutes from Lake Waramaug for summertime paddleboarding and swimming. The best of Litchfield County's hiking, fishing, antiquing, shopping, restaurants, and culture are all within a 30 minute drive.

The space
Nestled up on a hill, our house is private without being secluded. Every room is filled with natural light. One the first floor, you’ll find a recently-renovated kitchen with a spacious fridge and Thor propane range. Enjoy a meal in the full dining room. The living room features comfortable, modern seating and appointments. Enjoy our upright piano. We love playing games and working on puzzles at the game table. There is a separate TV room as well, with a 55" smart TV where you can sign in to your favorite streaming channels. We have plenty of places to relax. The laundry room and half bath round out the main floor.

On the second floor we offer 2 good-sized bedrooms with queen beds with Nectar premium memory foam mattresses made with CertiPUR-US® certified foams. Each bedroom has a dresser, towel rack, nightstand, lamps, and a closet with hangers. Lightweight down comforters top both beds and we have plenty of extra pillows and blankets. There is a designated workspace in front of the window in the hall. Our full bathroom has a deep soaking tub and shower.

We are sustainable and efficient since we use solar energy to power the house. All heating and cooling is electric.

We have high-speed internet, great for working remotely.

Guest access
Guests will receive a code for our keyless entry system. You are welcome to use the entire first floor and 2 of our bedrooms, as well as the whole 1 acre property. We have 2 other bedrooms that are for our private use only.

Other things to note
We would love to welcome families with children. Please message us with any questions or requests. Our upstairs stair hall has a low railing, the house is not completely kid-proofed.

Our house is in a rural location. You may see raccoons, deer, turkeys, eagles, hawks, bobcats, bears.

Rental is for (second floor) 1 bedroom with a queen bed and a small single pull out couch (best for a small individual) and private bathroom. You will also have access to a large living space. You will have your own entrance to the house. Shared access to the kitchen, and pool (when in season). Small fridge, microwave and coffee pot available upon request. Please note this is a room rental, and our family will be in the house.

Other things to note
There are 2 small dogs (boston terriers) in the house. Neither are allowed upstairs in the room you will be staying in. If you are using other parts of the house, they will be locked in a part of the house you are not using.

We are down a dirt lane that goes to the Housatonic River. Our property runs along the river.
We have an island! Looking out the rear picture windows of the studio, and the island "Chittenden" is to the left in the Housatonic River.

The studio apartment is located above the 2 car garage and separate from our home. A flagstone walk way leads you the way to your private entrance and patio which looks out to the fields.

This newly renovated, modern space is in the heart of Kent, CT. Take advantage of the many nearby restaurants. While there is NOT a kitchen, there are a few useful appliances for heating or prepping a simple meal. A cozy seating area, super comfortable queen size platform bed, big screen t.v. and relaxing shower/tub are all perfect after a day of hiking, shopping with your student or small town hopping.

Guests have access to the small porch outside the suite, perfect for morning coffee while watching the birds. Guest can also use the outdoor seasonal pool at the Main location six miles away (note, no bathrooms are available at the pool).

Our one story, 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is situated on 4 hillside acres of mature gardens and woodlands. The primary bedroom is attached to a recently updated primary bath with soaking tub, and two guest bedrooms and an office offer plenty of additional space for guests. Bedrooms are separated from large, main living areas. Outside, the screened porch offers shade and sanctuary in the evening, the deck offers the glory of full morning sun, and the pool is a hidden retreat in the secret garden down the hill.

Two of the bedrooms feature quaint Dutch-style doors and old-time hardware that can be opened from the top to let in a breeze.

Bedroom 1, the primary bedroom is a step down, (watch your step) but rewards you with a queen bed, and view of the mountain fed waterfall that feeds the adjacent Brook, and on-suite newly renovated bathroom with shower. Bedroom 2 is a country escape with a queen bed and desk w/monitor for any remote work that needs to be done. Bedroom 3 is what we refer to as the kids room with two twin beds and a full size crib. Additional pack-n-play if needed can also be brought out.

Bedroom 2/3 share the main hallway bathroom which was also renovated with all new tile and plumbing fixtures and includes a cast iron bathtub, perfect for a summer soak.

Other things to note
The house is on a hill with rock walls that overlook a brook. While young children are welcome inside, outside is not entirely safe for unattended kids. We ask that children be highly supervised when outside, and not allowed to walk the rock walls (which are fragile and could crumble) or down near the water / Brook without an adult.

Parking is on street level, above the house. To access the house one must be able to walk down a few steps and a long pathway to the house from the road. Suggest backpacks / bags over rolling luggage.

Property Extents: You will notice to the right of our garage is a private road that leads to a small bridge that runs over the brook, while it’s ok to walk up and see the Bridge/ Brooke, beyond this is private property and owned by someone else and is not open to visitors.

Please use provided tick / bug spray or bring your own if you plan to walk through yard. We do get yard sprayed for ticks (organic kind) but they still are out there.

Newly renovated - just listed! Our mountain retreat is a lovely cottage on a small private lake in Kent, CT, a sweet country town in the Northwestern corner of Connecticut. Perfect for activities in all four seasons. Guests are welcome to use our kayaks and paddle board, as well as a barrel sauna and barrel hot tub.

The space
The house has 4 bedrooms. Upstairs there is a master bedroom, kids' bedroom with twin beds, and an office with daybed. On the garden level, there is a 1br apartment with a queen bed. Amenities include a hot tub (only open March through October) and movie room in the basement.

Other things to note
We are a six-minute drive from the restaurants and stores in town, a 20-minute drive to Mohawk Mountain for skiing and an hour to Catamount and Butternut, a 5-minute drive to a lovely public beach at Lake Waramaug State Park, and just 200 meters from our own slice of paradise - a private lake where we enjoy kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming from the dock nearby (no beach on our property). We are also close to many nature trails, including the Appalachian trail, and the famous Kent Falls. Other favorites are the Museum of Antique Machinery, the Sharon Audubon, and the Hopkins Winery, which offers free live music for picnickers on weekends in the summer. If you feel like staying at home, you can enjoy the large porch overlooking the lake with sunset views. Or enjoy lake views from the comfort of our hot tub and sauna (there is an additional usage charge for those).

Note that we are not professional renters - this is our second home and it therefore will have a more "lived in" feel than professional rentals, with books on the bookshelves, some clothes in the dressers and closets (though we will make room for you), nonperishable food in the pantry, etc. If you are looking for a more sterile setting, this will not be for you!
