Full size kitchen, 2 queen beds that were very comfy, a rollaway bed, futons and a couch in the living room, full size dining room table and counter seats as well, 2 bathrooms and the showers have amazing water pressure, huge porch on the front over looking the river, several beautiful antique furnture pieces, and so many other special touches! The manager and house keeper were friendly and welcoming but gave us our privacy and we didn't hear the guests downstairs at all. There is a cute courtyard in the back with tables and grills and even a beautiful apple tree and painted mural on the back cabin. Fast Wifi and lots of channels to watch also. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future and will recommend to all our friends and family :)"

- "My husband and I booked this trip to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. My daughter has also been asking to go camping for at least a year and we weren’t ready to buy all the equipment. This was the perfect way to get the camping experience without the commitment! The view of the river and the mountains was breath taking. The restrooms had real toilets and were immaculate. The kids loved the shower set up! It was like taking a rock waterfall shower with a view of the clear blue skies. You could hear the river and it was so relaxing. I didn’t see river access from the campsite but there are plenty of day use areas that get you closer to the water nearby. As an added bonus they have coffee available in the mornings. We brought in our own food and kitchen supplies and firewood but pretty much everything else was provided by the host. Including tables, chairs, and a grate to cook over the fire. Would recommend and would definitely say again. "

A small river winds through Kernville Ranch’s 15 acres of meadows, shade trees, and grazing horses. Meadowlands Cottage, a quaint bungalow attached to the main house, overlooks the lawns and fields. Guests can swim in the river’s seasonal swimming hole, relax in the cedar hot tub under starry skies, or enjoy the zip line and rustic wood burning stove with endless firewood.

I am in love with this vacation rental. The Meadow House is only one bedroom with additional sleeping in the living room or common area. You can really only do toaster oven or simple meals in the kitchen. There is plenty of dining in town though so you may not need the kitchen at all."

Welcome to the River's Edge Cottage - Your Private Waterfront Retreat

In a beautiful riverfront setting, your 3-person Suite has a gated driveway, private entrance, kitchenette/dining area, and fireplace. Meet the river as soon as you arrive! It's the entire riverside floor of a large 2-story house. The upper portion of the house is not rented and will be unoccupied during your stay. The house, ample property grounds and riverfront are yours alone to enjoy. Relax with the Kern River in your backyard.

HOME LAYOUT:
The Main Room has a Queen bed and an attached Living Room with a deep sofa that's size of twin bed. Off the Main Room is a Kitchenette with Fridge/Freezer, Countertop Oven and Electric Cooktop, and Microwave. Inside Dining Area for 4. Outside has a large dining table for 6 with a Weber propane BBQ (propane is provided).

PLEASE NOTE: there’s no full-size oven nor traditional stovetop, no dishwasher. The Kitchen is all set up for casual meal preparation.

Off the Kitchenette is a Full Bathroom with a large walk-in Shower.
The Fireplace Lounge is separated by short hallway from Main Room. The Lounge a rugged stone wood-burning fireplace. We provide firewood bundles for sale.
The Fireplace Lounge has classic entertainment such as a record player, board games and puzzles. Also includes a cozy Queen sofa bed and its own outdoor access through a sliding glass door.

PLEASE NOTE: To walk from the Fireplace Lounge to the Kitchenette and Bathroom, you'd have to enter the Main Room. This bedroom layout is best for small families or couples.

Our home was designed to bring elements of the landscape into the space for a peaceful, natural experience. PROPERTY and RIVER ACCESS:

The entire property is fenced from front to backyard with lockable gates. Past the backyard fence is a quaint, historical river water canal that is crossed by a short footbridge with security handrails. After the bridge crossing is the river's edge concrete patio with lounge chairs & a picnic table.
This patio area has a metal handrail only, no fence. There's a natural boulder path with a handrail down to the river water. You must be sure-footed to access the water.
There’s a very nice swimming area at the house depending on the season & weather - please ask us about what to expect during your stay :)
Outside you'll find native plant-filled terraces, sitting areas, hammock and mature shade trees. Large patio and riverfront setting invites you to enjoy a BBQ or picnic lunch, or simply lounge on the deck. Enjoy the river going by.

Guest Access:
Each of our cozy little units has access to a fire ring, charcoal bbq grill, and a picnic table. You will have access to the Kern River of course, as well as our dog park and volleyball area. Gather in our "boulder area" for a family picnic. Don't forget to visit our office store for snacks, firewood, ice, and other essentials. WiFi is limited to one user and is upgradeable. In the summer time check out our activities schedule.

We are located just 5 min from downtown Kernville. In town you will find a number of delicious restaurants. You won't go hungry in this town! Don't want to venture out- "The Pizza Barn" will deliver right to your campsite. Kern River Brewery is within walking distance. There are all kinds of quaint little shops, as well as a museum full of local history. We sit at the gateway of Sequoia National Forest. The magnificent Trail of a Hundred Giants is just an hour away, there you can see the breathtaking redwoods. Other things to do include: Fishing, hiking, rafting, and bird watching.

Getting Around:
Everything you need is within a 5 min drive. If you'd rather walk, it will only take 10-15 min to reach town. There is a shuttle service and Uber's available as needed.

Please note that this is a non-smoking cabin. Smoking of any kind is prohibited. You are allowed a maximum of 6 guests. $25 pet fee per pet (Max 2 pets), will be charged at check-in (Airbnb or Booking.com). Pets are not to be left unattended at any time. - "The cabin is super cute, very clean, and has an awesome location. We thought we were getting the cabin pictured with a deck but cabin 11 does not have one. Either way, it’s a very nice stay. On the property, Kern River runs through where we saw people fishing. While it’s very close to town, I wouldn’t recommend walking since it’s on the main road. Our hosts were very nice and we would absolutely head back when we can. "

Our largest rental home, the Isabella Lakehouse, accommodates up to 7 guests. With 2 bedrooms and 1 master bath, it offers a 3rd queen bed located in a drop down sun room off of the living area.
