Enjoy your stay at our spacious three bedroom three full bath cabin, tucked away on a 1 acre wooded lot, with wonderful lake views and very clear water. The beautifully designed cabin has over 330ft. of gently sloping white sand beach, magnificent rock walls, covered pier, floating pier, and huge screened patio with exposed wood beam ceilings. There is an additional unscreened open air covered deck to enjoy for sunning or outdoor dining. The screened deck offers plenty of space to enjoy outside dining and comfortable seating while sitting under ceiling fans. The private covered pier offers a cool place out of the sun, where you can fish for bass, catfish, stripers, or crappie. There are two porch swings on the pier to provide comfortable seating and a spot to relax.

Our three bedrooms (one king, one queen, and two twins) are spacious, each with a private bathroom and wonderful lake or forest views. Easy access throughout the cabin is provided by: a ramp to the front door, lever handles on all interior doors, tile / hardwood floors, lift chair, and extra wide doors. The open floor plan consists of: a 20’ x 35’. living and dining area, 55" DISH satellite TV, 65+ movie library, DVD, and board games. The great room adjoins the open kitchen to form a large gathering area, with beautiful views of the lake and grounds. The kitchen features electric appliances with granite countertops. The kitchen is stocked with all cooking utensils. There is plenty of seating to accommodate dining either indoors or outdoors. Don't forget to bring marshmallows or the fixings for s'mores. The firepit is a great place to toast marshmallows, tell stories, or sing songs. A private sandy gently sloping beach into clear water makes it perfect for young and old alike.

We are conveniently located on the south side of the lake and are within 10 minutes of Catherine's Market, Kowaliga Restaurant, Anchor Bay Marina, Kowaliga Marina, Fanny Goldmine Diner, and Martin Dam. Nearby towns offer plenty of shopping, hiking, and sightseeing. We are located 50 miles from Montgomery, 40 miles from Auburn University, 95 miles from Birmingham, and about 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. The nearest place to launch private boats and rent pontoon boats/kayaks is Anchor Bay Marina which is about 2 miles from Summer Haven.

Lake Martin water levels are controlled by a hydroelectric dam. Water is lowered by 10 ft. in the winter. This lowering begins on Oct 15 at about 2 ft. per month. The water starts to rise on Feb 20 and is back up to full pool by May 1. Great bass fishing starts in November. The fishing is still great and we have a floating pier with stairs! The best time for trophy striped bass fishing is February to May. Lake Martin is an 'Alabama Treasured Lake' and is now on the 'Alabama Bass Trail'. Lake Martin is popular for bluegill, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, striped bass, crappie, bream, and catfish.

Please book early to get your best time. We accept reservations up to 12 months in advance. Rentals for longer than 7 days will be considered for long time renters at Summer Haven and long time members of VRBO.

This property is the perfect spot for a large crowd! After you park in the carport or driveway with at least 4 parking spaces, you walk through the front door and down the hall to a spacious, open-concept living area with a kitchen with all of your cooking needs, two eating areas and two sitting areas. The views from the living area are magnificent! Also on the top floor are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and private master bath. The second bedroom as a queen bed and a bathroom adjoining. Double sliding doors lead to a spacious porch with two outdoor dining tables and gas and charcoal grills for your convenience.

Downstairs, you will find a separate living area for the kids (with a queen sized sleeper sofa). You will also find an additional spacious bedroom with a king-sized bed. There is also a fun bunk room with 6 twin beds that is perfect for the kids. Outside, you will find a large covered porch with a swing. Just feet from the house is a dock with a boat slip and jet ski ramp for you to use.

Kowaliga Restaurant is less than 10 minutes from the house by land or water. Chimney Rock is less than a 10 minute boat ride. Anchor Bay Marina, which offers boat rentals, is about a 5 minute boat ride or a 3 minute drive.

What we love most about this home is the location. It is literally seconds from the "big" water but in a secluded slough that allows our children to swim and play without the fear and commotion of boaters. “Idle Speed” Lake Martin is a newly remodeled home for 2024 with over 4500 sf of living and enjoyment area. This unique property features lake access on one side as well as a private pond on the other, with water views out of most rooms of the home. Located on the south side of Lake Martin between Kowaliga rd and Castaway Island rd the home is a 5 minute boat ride or drive to “The Social” as well as many other hot spots on the lake. Children can enjoy the downstairs game room or take a plunge of our private dock, while the adults relax on the main level, one of 3 patios, or by the fire pit. Bring your boat! The neighborhood has a private boat ramp for your use. Whatever your interest, this home has something for everyone.

- "Our group of friends stay in VRBOs multiple times a year. We all agreed this was the most well thought out property we have ever stayed in. It is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is beautifully decorated with attention to the detail. There are hooks for hanging items, blackout curtains in bedrooms, makeup and beach towels, etc. Oh, and the bedding!! Every person raved about the bedding. The property is perfect for a large group. Plenty of space to spread out so you are not on top of each other. There are three living rooms (including the basement), two porches, a firepit, and a dock. The kitchen is open with a huge bar. We have some amazing cooks in our group and there is always someone in the kitchen. As such the living room connected to the kitchen became a favorite spot for everyone to gather. The house is well stocked with an abundance of supplies. Hands down it is the most well stocked home we have ever stayed in. Pots, pans, baking items, plates, cups, coffee, creamers, paper goods, small appliances, laundry detergent, shampoos, conditioners, body wash, etc. There are also two kayaks, a lily pad, game room, games, and books. Just about anything you could need. Kimberly was fantastic to work with. She was very friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to make our weekend special. Located in the water access community of The Village at Kowaliga Bay, this cabin has everything you need for a quick weekend getaway or an extended stay at the lake. There is a clubhouse with a pool, first come first serve boat slips, on-site open boat storage, and a boat ramp.

Little Red is a one level home and has two queen bedrooms, a full bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a well equipped open kitchen with living area. Head out to the screened in porch to relax in front of the wood burning fire place, watch a little TV, or do some grilling after a full day on Lake Martin! If you're an outdoor adventure type, this home is located close to some AMAZING hiking trails located just off of Highway 50 so bring some comfy shoes.
