They were all over the kitchen window but we found raid in the laundry room and sprayed them. That seemed to take care of them except for the occasional ones that showed up. I would also recommend to the host to put grab bars in the shower for those elderly people who could possibly fall getting in and out of the tub. Other than that everything was great. "

Our lovely lakefront home which takes full advantage of a stunning lake setting with floor to ceiling windows is the ideal location for a family reunion, girls weekend, or family getaway. New in 2025 - two upgraded showers, great room flooring, larger dining table, dishwasher. Always striving to improve our guest experience.

This spectacular home with over 4000 sq. ft. of living space comfortably sleeps 12. The open living concept with stunning flooring is perfect for sharing time with the family while preparing meals and appreciating the lake view. Read a good book in front of the living room's cozy electric fireplace. The kitchen features a large stove with a main oven and small side broiler, a massive industrial refrigerator and freezer, a new dishwasher, and a breakfast bar. The combined dining space seats 12. The breakfast bar seats an additional 3 people. The main floor features a king bedroom with a gorgeous view of the lake and an electric fireplace. This king bedroom shares a jack and jill bathroom with newly updated shower, with a queen bedroom that also serves as an office. There is an additional queen master on the main level.

Lovely, light-filled three-level house with beautiful lake views from almost every room. The two-story living room flows into a dining room and well-equipped kitchen. Sliding glass doors open onto a large screened-in porch that overlooks the lake and spans the entire house, with plenty of room for dining and relaxing. Skylights in the living room and windows everywhere bring in the light.

About a 90-minute drive from DC, the house is perfect for weekend or week-long getaways (10% discount for week-long stays). It has 3 bedrooms with queen beds, all of which have lake views, and 1 bedroom with twin beds and a street/woods view. For your indoor entertainment, we have excellent wi-fi throughout the house, two TVs with Roku and access to your own streaming services, as well as books, games, puzzles, and a pool table. On cool nights, cozy up to the wood-burning fireplace in the living room.

Listing says it sleeps 8-we did have 8 but it was a little tight. We put an air mattress in master bedroom which worked fine for our party but I think putting in the listing sleeps 6 or 7 is more realistic. We were in the area for a family reunion so didn’t get to take advantage of all the activities in the Lake of the Woods community. I would definitely recommend and will stay again in the future if we are back in the area! And just a side note, the pictures on the listing don’t really show how beautiful this home is!"

- "We were attending an event at Lake of the Woods VA and this house was perfectly located to everything. We really enjoyed kayaking on the lake." - "Rooms were large and comfortable. Sofa was big enough to fit us all. Everything was great!" - "We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in this clean home nestled in the trees on the lake. The 2 bedrooms downstairs are very spacious, and the 2 rooms upstairs were perfect for kids to crash in! The kitchen was very well stocked. The water out of the refrigerator was great. The bathrooms were also well stocked with toilet paper, towels, wash cloths, and even some shower soaps. The only trouble we had getting there was that our GPS took us to the back gate the first night, which did not have a guard shack. Therefore, we did not have access to get through. We then discovered what GPS had done and found our way to the front gate which had the guard shack. We were able to get checked in properly and drive through the gate. So, be sure GPS does not take you to the back gate! We definitely plan to go back and enjoy "Paradise Found" again!"

It’s an easy walk to the lake beach just 3 doors down. Or bring your kayaks and paddleboards to launch from the dock and enjoy in the spacious cove. It’s an easy 3 min drive to the Golf Course, with its Fairways Café for casual meals, or the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse for lunch or dinner on the patio overlooking the lake. Lake of the Woods also features 2 pools, multiple walking paths, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center, and an Equestrian Center offering trail rides and pony rides. In addition to the many historic sites in the vicinity to tour, there are also great hiking paths through the battlefields that start within the Lake of the Woods grounds, or just a mile or two away.

It is necessary to arrive at the front gate, where the guard shack is located. There is a back gate; however, it is not accessible. The drive to the front from the back gate takes approximately 30 minutes; therefore, it is advisable to avoid this route.

Our community is a gated and tranquil setting, ideal for families. We kindly request that you exercise respect towards our neighbors. Due to the high number of people walking in the neighborhood, the authorities are quite strict regarding speeding in the community and may issue a ticket. Therefore, it is imperative to exercise caution when driving. The speed limit on the main road is 25 mph and on the side roads, it is 15 mph.

- "My family/friend group of nine had the best time over Labor Weekend at the Hummingbird House. We had everything we needed in this home. It was one of the cleanest rental properties I've ever stayed in and we travel a lot! The property manager Janette was incredible in her communication, and we really appreciated all of the tips she provided us. Everything about our stay was "easy"...meaning we didn't have to question how to use anything, look for anything, etc. We especially enjoyed the pool table, kayaks, screened-in deck, outdoor lights, and expansive living area. The area is so nice and quiet and we all enjoyed the large swimming pool in the community which was about 8 minutes away by car. We got two free passes and the rest of us paid $7 per person to swim for a few hours which was worth it to us. One thing to note as this house is listed as "five bedrooms". The basement area is considered a bedroom because it has a pull-out sofa. This was perfect for our group but may not be suitable for other groups. We made great memories in this house and it was perfect for our mix of adults and four children. Thank you again!"

Enjoy a comfortable and fun-loving stay at Lake of the Woods in this large 4-bedroom house on a recreational park with plenty of entertainment. Sweetbriar Park is your back yard with 1/4 mile walking track, exercise stations, soccer fields, half basketball court and large tots playground. Plenty of indoor and outdoor family fun! Only a five-minute walk from one of the lake beaches and a five-minute drive from the Clubhouse and its beach.

House has a main floor master suite and large living room with cathedral ceiling. Eat in the kitchen or take dinner to the beautiful bar in the living room to watch one of the house's large screen TVs. The four bedrooms combine to have 2 king beds, two twin beds, 1 bunk bed (with full bed on bottom and twin on top). Property is perfect for families or groups of friends (but no parties, please). New dual-zone HVAC ensures comfortable temperatures upstairs and down. In-home washer and dryer. Lots of kitchen amenities including toaster oven, pop-up toaster, water heater, microwave, range, dishwasher and a new refrigerator with in-door icemaker and water dispenser. Plenty of counter space with a kitchen island. It's nothing terribly fancy, but it's got everything a kitchen needs (plenty of pots, plates, utensils, etc.). Dining table in the kitchen has a bench that seats three, two chairs along one side, and space for another chair or two at the end of the marble-top table. Overflow beyond the kitchen table goes to the four seats at the bar in the living room just steps away (what fun!).

The living room has a leather La-Z-Boy sofa and loveseat with four combined reclining seats, large screen 65" TV with Roku sound bar and streaming services, a Blue-Ray/DVD player, DVD collection and hi-fi stereo. The large, gorgeous wooden bar and it's stools offers that "this place is for having a good time" vibe. It's where our kids love to sit and eat. A beautiful oversize rug fit for a castle really ties the room together.
The master bathroom has a dedicated standing shower and an oversize soaking tub, a double-sink vanity and a separate room for the toilet. The upstairs bathroom has a shower/tub combo. A half-bath on the main floor offers convenience.

The rec room off the main hallway has a high-quality foosball table, a two-player arcade machine with thousands of games (like Asteroids, Double Dragon, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Galaga, etc.) and state of the art pinball machines (*special instructions and additional expenses apply for use of pinball machines). A sound-barrier helps dull the rec room noise.

There is no back deck but we've made the front patio a wonderful place to spend time. We have mosquito netting, outdoor curtains and sun shades up to keep out the bugs and enhance the feeling of privacy. There's a six-chair (with comfortable cushions) wicker dining set and glass-top table for enjoying meals and conversation. In the warmer months, a 50" TV is wall-mounted so you can spend days and evenings watching TV programs, YouTube and streamed movies outside. In the evenings, treat yourself to a cool mood by turning on the strings of blue lights. It's our little oasis and we love it!

There are three large-screen TVs in the house. 65" in the living room and an identical 65" in the master bedroom. A 50" TV rotates between the upstairs bedroom with king bed during the cooler months and the outdoor patio in the warmer months. Internet wifi with password protection is included. And house has an alarm system (it will be deactivated during you stay) that has emergency buttons for police and fire. There are also exterior cameras offering additional safety, but we've never had a problem and the Lake community is very safe.

The driveway is able to accommodate up to four cars.

In addition to the entertainment at home, Lake of the Woods has a lot to offer. There are six beaches on the main lake with a second lake specifically stocked for fishing. Several tots and outdoor playgrounds. An excellent golf course with a lunch cafe and reasonable course fees. There's even an equestrian center offering horseback riding, summer camps and lessons. A Clubhouse with restaurant and outdoor deck during the warmer months (*we highly recommend Sunday brunch). Across from the entrance to the lake (a five minute drive) is a Food Lion, Burger King, Japanese sushi restaurant, pizza and subs (they deliver). Nearby is Clear Water Grill (excellent bbq) and Walmart. The 25 MPH speed limit around the lake make it attractive for walking, running and biking. Lake of the Woods is one of the best kept secrets on the east coast. Come enjoy it!

- "Our family found this wonderful place for a fun short family getaway. The obvious draw was the amazing pinball/arcade room which did not disappoint (to beat the high scores will take more than the 2 nights that we booked). We also enjoyed playing games around the kitchen table, watching some "classic" DVDs with our teenagers, and heading to the recreation fields literally adjoining the rear of the property to kick, toss, and catch some balls and discs. The bedrooms were comfortable with the master offering privacy and sanity from the upstairs kids floor with 3 bedrooms for 3 kids (although another 2 - 3 people could fit too). Strong water pressure goes a long way for a great experience and there was plenty in the showers. Speaking of water, two of the teenagers decided to do a polar plunge. There are multiple access points in this resort community to the lake including small marinas with pontoon boats, canoes, and kayaks. And also lots of small beaches including the one where nearby houses might have called child services but thankfully plunge was brief as it was thrilling, even for those that did not go in. We ate our meals at nearby restaurants including the Clearwater Grill and more 20-min down the road in the Fredericksburg area. Thanks to our hosts for providing a great experience including being responsive to our questions and providing detailed instructions on how everything worked or where things were located. We would recommend to friends and may be back this summer!"
