Updated in 2014 & 2021 the cottage is located among 1800’s homes and just a half-mile from historic Pultneyville. This sweet little abode began life in the early 1900’s as the Pultneyville Harbor Office, before being moved to its present location in the 1950’s. In 2014 & 2020 we went through it stem to stern, and painted, mended, or replaced everything in her, while keeping the original heart and soul of the cottage.

The family room has a sofa (sleeper) and 2 chairs, plus a bar height table and 4 stools for dining or working. A Flat screen TV with Google Chromecast is provided and free Wi-Fi. (NOTE Strong reception for AT&T & Verizon Wireless cell service)

Mature shade trees and a wonderful lake breeze keep you cool in the summer. **NEW 2025 window AC Unit that works great even on the hottest of days** Fans are also provided. In the off-season a new in 2017 furnace keeps you warm & cozy.

The newly renovated kitchen features all new appliances, cabinets and finishes. If you want to cook, the kitchen is ready for you with complete cookware and dinnerware. A microwave, drip & Keurig coffeemakers, toaster, and a blender are included too. An outside WEBER gas grill is also provided.

There are 2 bedrooms, both with double beds (NEW 2024 memory foam). There is an IKEA sleeper sofa in the living room that sleeps 2 as well. Linens included! (additional fees apply for more than 4 people, and Note the cottage is very tight with more than 4 people).

Step outside and enjoy seating on the covered front porch, with a beautiful view of the cherry orchard across the street (we are surrounded by orchards). In the back is a wood patio with a table and chairs, and a fire pit (wood is available for purchase in the area). A short 10 minute walk across the street brings you to a 100-foot high bluff with beautiful views of Lake Ontario, part of the new Cornwall Preserve with hiking trails and peace & quiet. NOTE the cottage is not on the lake, so there are no lake views from the cottage property.

And there is plenty to do nearby…the area is known for antique shops, dining, boating, and fishing.

Take a half-mile walk to town, and you’ll find the Pizza Stop & The Local (with Bar), churches, and beautiful Pultneyville Harbor.

12 minutes east by car is Sodus Point, a dining, boating and fishing mecca. There are 2 lighthouses, a museum (free summer Sunday concerts on the lawn 2PM), fishing pier, several marinas, boat rentals, charter fishing boats, 2 playgrounds, skate park, ball field, really nice public beach(with lifeguards), multiple restaurants (open late), a Jazz club, ice cream stands, gift shop, golf course, church, and convenience market.

3 miles east is Hughes Marina, with fishing, boat docks, boat launches and boat and kayak rentals. 4 miles west is the Bear Creek boat launch operated by the Town of Ontario (permit required), and this is a very popular fishing location.

Palmyra is 20 minutes south.

This bungalow cottage and property are ideal for individuals or families seeking a private and quiet setting and who enjoy being close to nature. A gradual 160-foot-wide stony beach provides easy access to Lake Ontario for swimming, snorkeling, rafting or launching kayaks & canoes. (Larger water craft, e.g jet skis or boats can be launched at the nearby marinas or state boat ramps.) Adjacent to the beach is a large 60 x 100 ft lawn that’s perfect for kicking the soccer ball, tossing the baseball, or just relaxing on the lounge chairs in the sun as you watch the occasional boat or birds pass by. Enjoy spectacular sunsets as you roast marshmallows on a beach bonfire while your kids play on the swing set or catch frogs in the nearby pond.

The cottage, which is a fully-furnished classic A-Frame bungalow built in 1995, is nestled in the woods and opens up to the beach via an enchanting footpath. It features a unique architecture, upstairs loft bedroom and first floor bedroom, 2 full bathrooms, kitchen, great room and a 24 x 16 ft elevated deck which provides impressive views of the beach front and Lake Ontario.

The 20-foot-high great room and bedrooms are kept cool on summer nights with ceiling fans and whole-house heat pump. Prepare food at the gas grill on the deck, or at the lake using the charcoal grill. The loft bedroom has a queen size bed and single-size murphy bed, and the main floor bedroom has an adjustable queen and narrow murphy bed. When the pullout sofa is used, the bungalow can comfortably sleep 8 guests. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, dinnerware, cookware, cutlery and table condiments.

This bungalow is "Alexa enabled", meaning Amazon Echo Dots are located in the bedrooms and great room, and can optionally be used to control room lighting, HVAC, play games, get the weather, or play virtually any song you've ever heard that was published & released (over 70+ million songs!).

The owner will happily provide you with a demo and list of commands on how to use Alexa. But if you're not comfortable with home automation devices like Alexa, we can easily unplug them during your stay. Alexa is an optional accessory to make your stay more enjoyable and eliminate having to bring CDs or other media. All new guests are greeted by the owner when they arrive and are given an overview of the bungalow’s interior features, and a tour of the property.

During the summer of 2020 (due to the Covid-19 pandemic), both the Loft and main- floor bedrooms were upgraded so that they can be quickly reconfigured into study areas and work-from-home offices. (E.g. the "loft bedroom" can be converted into a "loft office", by stowing the murphy bed back into the wall, and by opening the wall-mounted collapsible office desk.) The Roku-enabled streaming TVs in each bedroom also double as secondary computer monitors so that school-age children can continue their remote learning, or, so that adults can conveniently work-from-home and stay as connected to the office as they choose via tools like Zoom and WebEx. WiFi is available throughout the bungalow and on the deck too, which can double as an outdoor office.

Guests are welcome to use our two sit-on-top kayaks, floats, and other water toys during their stay.

If you're into astronomy, use our telescope and binoculars to study the moon and star constellations. On clear nights, you'll be able to see many earth-orbiting satellites (about 1 to 3 every 10 minutes). And If you time your visit just right, you'll even be able to spot the International Space Station - ISS as it passes by 250 miles (400 km) overhead or the Space X satellite train.

This property is located on a private gravel lane about 2 miles from Pultneyville, 6 miles from Williamson, 7 miles from Sodus Point, and 25 miles from Rochester. The gravel driveway can easily accommodate up to 6 cars.

- "The A-frame cottage is really charming, nestled in the woods far away from the main road. The owner has thoughtfully provided all the amenities you may need during your stay, and we di take advantage of most of them. The little details - like outlets near the beds, flashlights near the door and binoculars near the deck - really helped make the stay very stress-free and relaxing. The deck was a perfect size for us, and had a lovely view of Lake Ontario, framed by the trees surrounding the pathway to the lakefront yard area. We enjoyed sitting out on the lounge chairs by the water, taking in the waves and watching the occasional osprey or heron fly by."

There is a private rock beach and beautiful sunsets! It's a great place to get away with family, a few friends, significant other or a quiet getaway by yourself. Enjoy the amazing sunsets by the fire pit while eating s'mores. There is plenty of yard space (50 ft of frontage) for activities and beach access for swimming, floating and throwing rocks. It's also a great place to visit in the winter when you're looking for some quiet get away.

The rock beach is a 0-depth entry that gradually gets deeper. You can walk right in! The rocks can be sharp or slippery so water shoes is recommended. Please help yourself to a favorite rock for a momentum.

The kitchen has been recently updated with stainless steel appliances. It is fully equipped with pots, pans, silverware, bowls, utensils, coffee pot, blender and toaster. There is also an outside gas grill.

- "We had a wonderful time staying at this property! There was plenty to do in the house as well as around the area. Our group was on the large side with kids of all ages running around. The pool was the biggest attraction for them, but the basement was full of toys and games that they spent hours enjoying! The adults had a beautiful backyard and front yard to enjoy chatting and reconnecting. We made good use of the Pickleball equipment and had several (some still disputed) lively matches. Communication was easy, the kitchen was fully stocked and roomy. We had enough space during our joint family dinners to accommodate 17 adults and 30 kids (most of which did not actually spend the night at the rental with us). Fantastic time had by all!"

Cozy 2 bedroom apartment inside a large farm house. Sit around the campfire outside while the children enjoy a piece of real country living. This is a place to unplug as there is no TV and WI-FI. This is an active farm with lots going on! We (a family of 5) live in the main part of the house.

Each bed room sleeps two and there is a hide-a-bed couch in the living room. The refrigerator will have a few condiments with plenty of room for your own food. There is a toaster, blender, microwave, kitchen range/oven, and a few cooking utensils.

Lake Ontario is a comfortable 30 minute drive the the north with all of the finger lakes within 60 min to the south. Local attractions include; Erie Canal, Zurich Bog (hiking), Tow path trail, and many others.

This is typically not a swimming shore, but there are great swimming beaches at Pultneyville and Sodus Bay, about 8-10 minutes in east and west directions from cottage.
NO smoking of any kind indoors please - penalty of $150 if ozone machine is required for next guest. All smoking must be done outdoors.

- "My wife and another couple spent a week in this very nice VRBO in Palmyra. Both bedrooms have king beds and adjoining bathrooms, which we old folks really enjoy. We were there to visit the LDS historical sites and we found the location to be perfect. It is on Main Street in Palmyra and is very convenient to visit the sites. After visiting the sites during the day, we watched movies and played games in the living room. The house is old on the outside but very modern on the inside with some of the old features still present (non-working fireplaces and some original floors). Our bedroom had an abundance of outlets for charging phones, tablets, etc. (That is not always the case in some places.) Parking was very convenient also, just outside the back door. The kitchen was supplied with a good number of dishes and cookware that met our needs for when we ate there. For LDS visitors, this is an ideal place to stay and also for anyone who wants to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of Palmyra. One more thing, it is only a couple of blocks from the Palmyra historical museums and the Erie Canal. Don't know if we will ever be able to visit Palmyra again but this would certainly be our place to stay."

This is a small studio fully furnished! With goats and donkeys around the corner! There is no internet but there is a 58” Roku tv The bed is super comfy! Just bring your toothbrush! - "So I never got check in details, messaged the host several hours before check in. Didn't hear anything. Showed up after check in time no one on the property. Called the host several times, no answer and voice mail was full. As I was walking the property another family showed up they had checked in the day before. While getting on the phone with vrbo the owner showed up and discovered that he had double booked. I am still waiting on his cancellation of my reservation and the return of my money from vrbo. I have an open case with vrbo but it has been a week since our original reservation was to start. Owner did try to put us into one of his other "rooms" but they were not close to what we had originally booked. One was basically a bed in a kitchen, the shower was actually in the kitchen next to the Fridge, wasn't going to work for 3 people. The other option was a duplex across the street that was filthy, and while they offered to clean it, there was no way it would be clean enough to have a 3 year old stay in, unless they spent 4 or 5 hours doing a lot of hard work. The premise is interesting with kids to stay on a goat farm and all that, but I would think twice before booking, and triple check check in details well in advance. Vrbo was unable to re-book us somewhere else and we had a devil of a time finding a hotel on a Saturday night as most hotels were booked solid. Finally found a very sketch place Econlodge room some 30 mins away, but at least it was a roof over our heads. My opinion is stay away from this until the host is able to really get everything properly set up and clean."
