The Rufe House is located 5 miles from Stowe Village on 2 acres surrounded by farmland + a quiet wooded area. We are situated on a private drive with no thru traffic and a large well maintained backyard. High speed internet with WiFi, Comcast TV service and air conditioning is provided.

Our 4 bedrooms / two bath configuration can comfortably accommodate 8 to 10 adults with additional twin beds for children. The bedroom and bath arrangement is perfect for small groups as well as family gatherings. An assortment of games, puzzles, paperback books are welcome for our guests to use during their stay! A high chair and portacrib are available upon request.

FIRST FLOOR:
First floor has an open floor plan with a custom kitchen, dining area that opens to a 30 ft deck wrap around deck + private yard, a living room with fireplace, cathedral ceiling and exposed beams, master bedroom and a full bath with laundry area.
Our living room has a wood burning fireplace, cathedral ceiling with exposed beams, leather couches and a game table. The stairway to the second floor is an open stairway with a second floor balcony walkway that overlooks the living room. A 50" TV, high speed internet with WiFi, Comcast TV service as well as a DVD player are provided. We stock seasoned firewood and kindling in the basement for our guests to use.

Our custom kitchen has cherry cabinetry, tile floor and is stocked with high quality pots, pans, dishes and service ware for 12 guests. Our guests will find that is easy to prepare everything from holiday meals to outdoor BBQ's. Coffee maker, 4 slice toaster, toaster oven, microwave, slow cooker, large electric fry pan, blender, Cuisinart food processor, electric mixer, roasting pans etc are provided as well as basic kitchen supplies. Basic supplies provided : spices, paper products (napkins, paper towels), cleaning supplies, dish soap, dish washer detergent, kitchen wraps, trash bags, coffee filters, sugar, flour, etc. We do not provide coffee.
Our dining area has a custom table that seats 12! Perfect for dining as well as for playing games or making puzzles! The dining area opens to our 30' deck. During the warmer months an outside dining table with umbrella and chairs is provided. A Weber Gas grill is available on the deck year round.

The first floor has master bedroom has a queen bed, a set of bunk beds and a 32" TV. The first floor bath has a tub with shower, safety grab bar and a single vanity. Each of our bathrooms has abundant towels, a hairdryer, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, shampoo and bath soap. Adjoining the first floor bathroom is a laundry area with full size washer, dryer, extra towels + linens. Laundry detergent is provided

SECOND FLOOR: There are three bedrooms and a second bath with double vanity, shower and linen closet on the second floor.
Two bedrooms on the second floor have a double bed and one twin bed. The third bedroom on the second floor has a queen bed and one bunk bed. Extra blankets , linens and pillows are provided in each bedroom.
The second floor bath has a shower, linen closet and a double vanity. Towels, hairdryer, shampoo, bath soap, toilet paper and cleaning supplies
are provided in each bathroom.

For your convenience seasoned firewood + kindling are stacked in the basement. There is also a workbench in the basement for tuning skis/bikes
Our home is immaculately maintained and is cleaned in accordance with CDC guidelines for health and safety.

This house is remarkable! What started off as a beautiful farmhouse has turned into a luxurious home filled with a ton of amenities. The house boasts 10 bedrooms, 7 of which have private bathrooms. There's an indoor pool large enough for plenty of people. The pool space also has a bar, an indoor hot tub, a heated pool, and twinkling lights in the ceiling, making it look like the night sky! There's a second hot tub, outside.

The house has two kitchens and a very large common space, complete with a wood stove that has a space for cooking pizza and bread above it. This is the perfect home for hosting large gatherings such as family reunions or get togethers for holidays such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the 4th of July. Above the common space, on the second floor, is a 45-seat theater that is connected to streaming services and a DVD player. The surrounding property is gorgeously landscaped and includes a fire pit and enough parking for at least 30 cars.

The house is located in Morrisville, VT, which is a small town in northern VT. There are lots of places to eat and several breweries, including Lost Nation and Rock Art. The house is fairly close to three great mountain resorts, Stowe, Smuggs, and Jay Peak, which provide great recreational opportunities year-round, including skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, hiking, ziplining, and more. We are also within 4.5 miles of Lake Elmore, where you'll find a beautiful sandy beach and a great hiking trail. Other hiking includes Stowe Pinnacle, Sterling Mountain, Bingham Falls, Mansfield, Camels Hump, and more!

There is one bedroom with a queen bed and a queen pull out couch in the living room which offers accommodations for up to four people. The full bathroom has a tub/shower and washer/dryer for your use.

The living room has a Smart TV, complimentary Wifi and cell service for most carriers.

There is a full kitchen equipped with a range, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and a full compliment of cookware making it easy to prepare you own meals.

The covered porch has a table and chairs along with gas grill for outdoor cooking and relaxation. The apartment and porch offers privacy and a great view of the back yard and woods where guest often spot deer and other wildlife.

We're located just outside town in a quiet neighborhood where you'll find privacy, peace and quiet while still being close to shopping, dining, sport and recreational activities.

Guest's enjoy visiting Ben and Jerry's, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Boyden Valley Winery and many other Vermont attractions, which are within a 30 minute drive.

We have several of Vermont's most popular breweries within a few miles of us to include The Alchemist, Trapp Brewery, Rock Art, Lost Nation, Ten Bends and Hill Farmstead. We keep a couple growlers available for guests to use so you can bring back your favorites.

For water lovers we're close to the Green River and Waterbury Reservoirs, Lake Elmore and Lake Eden all of which offer great opportunity for swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding.

We also close to the Vast Trail system for snowmobiles and being avid motorcyclist we can help plan some great area rides for guest who prefer to travel on two or three wheels.

There is a great BBQ about a mile away, Black Diamond BBQ. And pizza delivery is available through Pizza on Main which is excellent.

The area also has many excellent dining options and we're happy to make recommendations and discuss what's available.

We live in the attached house and are available for any questions and to make recommendations for area activities, dining options and more. We occasionally have guests staying in the house as well.

Upstairs there were two bedrooms (very comfortable queen beds in each room), plenty of closet space, a choice of pillows by firmness. Plenty of room to work in the primary bathroom. Strong shower, plenty of hot water. A bunch of amenities already in the bathroom, plenty of towels. VERY quiet overnight, we slept well! Overall delighted with everything this property had to offer. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Morrisville is not exactly hopping like Stowe but there are several places to eat within a short walk. This property will be on the top of our "plan to return" list when we next have plans to visit this part of Vermont."

This quintessential log cabin is the perfect love nest for 2 or can sleep another person on the single futon in the loft. The unique design is what will make you fall in love and you will have complete privacy. Get away from it all in this magical cabin that has all the amenities you could want and yet it is close to everything. Your pets are more than welcome and there is a big fenced in yard. There are lots of berries in the summer so you can pick the blue berries right from the bushes for your cereals!
In the winter there are cross country ski trails close by and you can explore our woods with snow shoes as well.

The house features a large living room w/ vaulted ceilings, lots of comfy furniture and a large TV. There is a covered screened in porch to enjoy the flower gardens in the warmer weather. The living room flows into the dining room and kitchen. There is a mudroom, a half bath and a laundry room as well. Upstairs there is a master bedroom and bath with a king bed. Two additional bedrooms and the other full bath finish off this level. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has two bunk beds that sleeps 4. The basement, featuring plenty of sunlight via the large windows has another family room with a TV and the fourth bedroom with a queen bed.

Bedrooms: All have Casper mattresses and Brooklinen linens. One bedroom on the first floor with a double bed and direct access to a newly redone full bathroom. Two bedrooms on the second floor with a shared and recently redone bathroom with a gorgeous tub and shower. One bedroom with a queen has a porch overlooking the brook, the other (we call the Mountain Room) has a double bed and overlooks the beautiful mountains and backyard. Open to the house (no door), but semi-private loft with a queen on the third floor with its own reading nook and private bathroom.

Watch sunrise over the mountains or leaf peep the gorgeous foliage or snow covered tree tops from the porch in the morning. Outdoor grill for a great summer meal. Lots of outdoor seating areas for warmer months and relaxing after a long hike: adirondacks and an egg swing under the covered porch overlooking the brook, a dining table for 8-10, a seating area looking out to the mountains, loungers by the waterfall, and a private 8-person fire pit (note: we do not supply firewood). Parents, please note there is open, un-gated access to the waterfall. The backyard is incredibly private and so peaceful. For twilight, take a two minute walk up to the Ryder Brook Golf Club for a short round or a winter walk. This house was built for entertaining, adventure, and relaxation.

Eight guests maximum- this is a legal requirement for us, and we do monitor this and have outdoor security cameras. Outdoor quiet hours begin at 9pm in our family friendly, quiet neighborhood.

There's also a beautiful butcher block breakfast bar with stools to gather around and plan your day or unwind from your adventures. There's a queen bed in one of the bedrooms and two single/twin beds in the other bedroom. Both rooms have ample closet space, electric wall heaters to stay warm during the cold nights and ceiling fans to stay cool during the summer.

- "Everything about this property was in pristine condition, exceedingly clean, and comfortable. As advertised, quick and easy access to Stowe and Smugglers Notch resorts. The fully stocked kitchen was a nice touch for the nights we chose not to go out. Having a garage was great to dry our gear out. Quick and easy check-in and the host was super responsive with great restaurant recommendations and ideas for things to do around town. This property is clearly newly listed but don't let that stop you - it's in better condition and more conveniently located than anywhere we've stayed in this area recently."

This is a newly renovated space in our historic 1895 Vermont Schoolhouse.
We live in the home, but your space is completely private with its own private entrance and deck! 10 short minutes from Stowe, this is the perfect location for a Vermont getaway.
Space includes one queen bed in a sleeping loft, and a pull out couch in the main living area. Large shower, kitchenette, private porch and beautiful country setting!

The space:
Walk in the space to find a small tiled entrance which opens to a funcional living area. Sectional couch, TV, and kitchenette all make up your main space. The couch pulls out into a comfy bed. TV swivels to be flat against the wall, or angled toward the couch.

The kitchenette has a farmhouse sink, Keurig (coffee essentials included - coffee k-cups for your first morning, sugar and cream), mini-fridge with freezer, microwave, wine/water glasses, and mugs. (PLEASE NOTE: We do not allow any additional outside appliances. No exceptions. If you are planning to save money by cooking in - this isn't the rental for you.)

A cozy sleeping loft with queen bed (accessed by steep stairs) is directly above that looks out to our tree lined, private yard. The headspace in the loft is 6ft at the peak.

The bathroom has a large tiled shower and heated floors.
Outside is a private, partially covered porch just for your use.

Guest access:
You have access to your designated parking space, private porch and your own apartment. The rest of our home and yard is private.

Other things to note:
The sleeping loft has steep stairs, but are comfortable and solid with hand rails on both sides the whole way up. Please note, if you aren't comfortable with steep stairs, you may be more comfortable sleeping on the sleeper sofa.

The interior spaces artfully meld the best of today’s open plan living and modern conveniences with the old world charm of vintage Vermont, complete with fireplace, wide board pine floors, reclaimed wood ceiling beams and handmade, built-in cabinetry. With three bedrooms and two baths – the primary en suite – plus living room, dining area and cathedral ceiling library, you will have plenty of room to rest and re-charge after a day of skiing or hiking. Beautifully furnished – with much furniture crafted by Vermont woodworkers – our home also features a state-of-the-art kitchen with stainless appliances, gas range, dishwasher, granite counters and farm sink. Wireless broadband and satellite TV, of course, plus Apple TV, and fantastic cell reception. Or you can enjoy just relaxing and unwinding in quiet comfort, in front of the (no-fuss gas) fireplace.

Outside: relax on our deck on an Adirondack chair; or drink coffee or have breakfast at our dining table. Wind down after a day of outdoor recreation by sipping a local VT beer in front of our Solo Stove smokeless fire pit, watch the wildlife, take in the sunset, and be thankful for your time in beautiful Vermont. Nestled on over three private acres, our home is just a short drive to Stowe and its stellar ski resorts, restaurants, cafes and shops. Two world-class Vermont micro-breweries are just five minutes from our home, as is the 90+mile Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, the phenomenal multi-use cycling and rec path that spans the entire state. Great restaurants and supermarkets, incredible hiking trails and the Green River Reservoir, widely considered Vermont’s best paddling destination, are also within 15 minutes of our home.

Highly recommend." - "We were a party of 3 couples, excited to ski at Stowe for the first time (we had previously only made it as far north as Killington). Sandy mentioned that Stowe would ruin us for all other Vermont skiing, and she was certainly right! Stowe has more character than Killington or Stratton, with a charming small-town feel. Sandy's house was more beautiful than pictured. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by the pleasant scent of wood (not sure if it was the wide pine flooring or the ceiling with the reclaimed beams, but it made us feel like we were in woods, secluded from our hectic daily worries). The mudroom has lots of room to store coats, boots, bags, etc. You then proceed into the library, which has a very comfortable sofa and good collection of books and board games. The house has a very open feel, as the library (which can be closed off with a nicely-designed barn door) opens to another mudroom/entryway and then into the kitchen. The kitchen is fantastic, with a big farm sink and all modern, easy-to-use appliances. The kitchen is open to the dining area (with a table that seats 6) and living room. The living room has a wonderfully comfy sectional with a couple of warm blankets, perfect for snuggling under after a long day outside. The TV is on a stand that allows it to be rotated, so we actually wound up watching the Democratic primary debates while playing board games - which led to many interesting political arguments, a first during one of our games of Monopoly! Everyone in our group thought the beds were excellent; Sandy provided many blankets and warm down comforters. The master suite is especially nice, with a spacious en-suite hosting a huge shower and granite-top vanity. Sandy was a very gracious host, providing many details about local attractions and restaurants (unfortunately we did find out that Copley Hospital in Morrisville is the go-to hospital for skiiers who get injured at Stowe, as one person in our party broke his arm). I would highly recommend a meal at Piecasso in Stowe and Lost Nation in Morristown - they were our favorite restaurants, and exactly what you need after a long day on the slopes (or the emergency room). These and other restaurants were recommended in Sandy's "House Bible". We would highly recommend Sandy's house to anyone looking for lodging in the area. You can tell Sandy and Marty love their home and the area. We can't wait to visit again!"
