- "It was good for a night. " - "We stayed at the Moultonborough Inn for a few days in early December, when we were in the area photographing a wedding. This motel was an affordable option for us, and only 15 minutes from where the wedding was taking place. I can't say enough about our stay. The lobby was warm and welcoming. It was decorated nicely for the holiday, and soft Christmas music was playing. The owner Donna was sitting behind the desk, and she too was warm and welcoming. We chatted a bit about the property, and after a quick check-in, she mentioned that there would be tea/coffee, oatmeal cups and homemade pumpkin bread available in the morning. Perfect! Our room was on the 2nd floor (there is no elevator), and was immaculately clean, modern looking and comfortable. Donna really put a lot of thought into the room not only with decor, but with providing simple instructions (for ceiling fan operation, TV operation, etc). There was a microwave, refrigerator, table for two, dishes, silverware, coffee maker, etc. Anything you could need or want, was there! The hot water was plentiful. Noise in the inn was minimal. We would HIGHLY recommend this motel, and look forward to visiting again someday soon!"

Imagine waking up and watching the sun rise over the Ossipee Mountains as you sip your morning coffee out on the dock while the rest of the group sleeps in. Once they emerge from their slumber you'll gather on the screen porch to plan your days adventures. Maybe getting out on the lake for some tubing, waterskiing, throwing a line to catch dinner or just jumping into the water and swimming out to the raft to work on your tan (water entry is by stone step down into the water from land or the ladder on the dock). The dock will accommodate one boat up to 22 feet in length.

The cottage boasts 2 bedrooms on the first floor along with the kitchen/living/dining area and two full baths (with shower stalls). A screen porch and large 3-season room with 3 futon beds rounds out the main level. Upstairs, the younger set will call dibs on which of the 4 twin beds is theirs and where there's sure to be loads of belly-laughs and late night ghost stories told as the adults warn them to quiet down at bed time.

As if this wasn't enough to entice you - you may bring your best friend (dog, that is) depending on the size and kind and with the owners prior approval and $175 pet fee. Please ask about bringing your dog at the time of booking.

- "We stayed for 3 nights. The studio apartment was perfect for a couple. It’s feet from a nice, little beach with a boat ramp and swimming. The owners were so inviting and warm - we enjoyed getting to know them and the neighbors. The location is quiet and much less populated than other areas on the lake but after a day on the water we weren’t looking for bars and parties. Off the kitchen/dining area you’ll find the enclosed back porch which leads to the gated back deck both overlook Shannon Brook. In the morning you may find a parade of ducks gliding by in the brook or a blue hereon peeking out of the reeds along the brook. From the deck you’ll enjoy a small yard space with a second deck connected directly to the small dock on the brook.

The homeowner just had three new mini-split heat/ac units installed! Shannon Brook does have the convenience of kayaking, fishing, and boating right in from your backyard. During the winter months along with skiing and ice skating, you can snowmobiling directly out from Shannon Brook too! The trail from the brook is part of the New Hampshire trail system, leading to the Castle in the Cloud snowmobile trail, to Lake Winnipesaukee and beyond!

The Balmoral community offers a great maintained private beach on Winnipesaukee Lake. The beach has some shade trees and is for use by members and guests only. The private boat launch also available to guests is located next to this beach area. Up at the club house you’ll find tennis courts, pickle ball, basketball courts and spacious playground. You could be very happy not leaving Balmoral for your entire stay!! But if you do want to explore there are many close attractions are at your disposal including Castle in the Clouds (there is a restaurant up there too!), Loon Center, Angelic Farm (blueberry picking), Mini Golf, Ridgewood Country Club, Wolfeboro downtown area, Hiking Trails, Snowmobile trails, Gunstock ski area, Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion and so much more to discover.

- "2nd time, great place to stay" - "While the check-in process was less than ideal I have nothing but praise for this home and it’s location. Having the river access was so convenient and peaceful. While the beach is always a fun time it was nice to enjoy a private oasis on the dock on the river. Having kayaks available was a treat and the outdoor space was open and well maintained. The home had 3 air conditioning units that worked remarkably and kept us comfortable (if not chilled) when relaxing indoors and sleeping. The living space is open, cozy and clean. Hard to tell if neighbors on either side were owners or other renters but they were very friendly. Despite being there for 4th of July week we found the neighborhood was quiet and respectful without disturbances. We hope to return for 4th of July next year and make this an annual occurrence.
