We were 3 adults and enjoyed the layout of the house, but it seems like it would also be a great place for a family with kids...great layout in the family room with lots of TV options and games. Not prettified or standardized, this cabin is designed for the ocean experience, winter or summer. From the fireplace or deck--or from your bed--watch seals and herons on the end of Netarts Spit.

No other houses block your view. The property borders the sand. Your private path winds through pines and huckleberries to the driftwood and sand.

According to one reviewer, the cabin exemplifies the Danish word, "Hygga," --the quality of coziness, solitude, comfort, and contentment. Pick huckleberries outside the kitchen door, September-October--or crabs and clams from the bay.

The 'Retro Retreat' is a 1 bedroom, 500 square foot lower level apartment with a beautiful view of Netarts Bay. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and there is a comfy futon out in the living room. There is Wifi and cable TV, so you can stay connected while on vacation. The living room/dining area has a flat screen Smart TV that has streaming capabilities. There is plenty of room to park your truck and boat and also a convenient outdoor fish cleaning station. - "We have one complaint. The TV was nearly impossible to use. There are 5 different remotes and the instructions about how to use any of them don’t match the remotes. We just wanted to look at some news a couple times and we couldn’t even get the TV to come on, There was no channel guide to find anything. We called the host who came over and got the TV to come on finally but then there was no MSNBC news channel - only strange choices. The TV situation was very frustrating for us."

The Blue Rose Cottage is an oceanfront single-family house located at the mouth of Netarts Bay and Hodgdon Creek, near Oceanside and Tillamook, Oregon. The cottage overlooks the Pacific Ocean, Netarts Bay, and the Oregon Islands Wildlife Refuge. The Blue Rose is a spacious one bedroom cottage on a bluff over the beach - with lots of windows and spectacular views. You can walk from the cottage directly to the ocean beach on our private path, or lounge on our deck, which overlooks the Pacific.

The cottage has a queen size bed in a separate bedroom, and a queen size fold out couch in the living room with a very comfortable coil spring mattress, plus a smaller fold out couch and 2 sleeping pads that young children often enjoy sleeping on.

The area features some excellent restaurants, lots of wildlife, state parks, and many other different types of activities. Seals nest on sandbars offshore from the cottage, Great Blue Heron fish in the waters off our beach, Pelicans sail in the sky, and in the summer wild roses and lilies bloom in the yards. The area is known for Dungeness crabbing, fresh clams and oysters, fishing and whale watching, and is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route.

Netarts is a quiet, non-touristy village of a few hundred people. It's one of the closest beaches to Portland, Oregon (75 miles, or a 90 minute drive). There is a small grocery store a short walk from the cottage. Major services are available eight miles away in Tillamook.

We allow pets, with permission and with payment of a wear-n-tear fee. The local beaches are "pet friendly" and are almost never crowded.

Just a short walk to a market and a burger place. There were two options to head down the the beach. One was a little less steep but had some rocks at the bottom to navigate. The other was easier at the bottom but a bit more steep (but had a railing). Either way it was doable for this middle age mom and her teen age kids. This is a townhouse but I didn’t notice any noise from our neighbors on either side. Such a lovely place!"

The 'Retro Retreat' is a 2 level home with 2 separate units with 2 separate entrances and this is the UPSTAIRS unit. The apartment is 500 square feet and has 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, and a full kitchen. There is a queen size bed in the bedroom and full size pull out sofa bed out in the living room. There is Wi-Fi and a landline, so you can stay connected while on vacation. There is plenty of room to park your truck and boat and also a convenient outdoor fish cleaning station. Large windows everywhere for amazing views of the Pacific ocean, Three Arch Rocks, Netarts Bay, and the peninsula. Corner unit on the second floor has the best views in the area, with the ocean to the west and the bay and and coastal mountains to the south. Harbor seals pile onto the sand bar when the tide rolls out. It is a quiet property with private beach access from the parking lot.

Activities include kayaking, crabbing, clamming, kite-surfing, beach combing. You are a short walk from The Schooner, a local's favorite restaurant and bar with outdoor dining on Netarts Bay. The unit is decorated with natural materials of leather, stone, and wood, with a nautical theme. Fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to stay in for your meals and watch the tides and clouds and sun throughout the day. The unit features modern furniture, a comfortable bed, washer/dryer, and a 65" TV.

A few minutes up the road is the charming hillside town of Oceanside, with a handful of cozy restaurants including breakfast places and coffee shops (there is also coffee just minutes from the condo at Seaworthy Coffee and Gifts in Netarts (say hi to Corissa). Just beyond Oceanside is Cape Meares Lighthouse.

Netarts is home to the Netarts Bay Oyster company and Jacobsen's Sea Salt. Tillamook offers a range of restaurants, an air museum, breweries, a full-sized grocery, and of course the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory (which also has fantastic ice cream).

You are just over ninety minutes from Portland (East) or Willamette wine country (Southeast), and near some of the most beautiful coastline and seaside towns anywhere.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 21 years of age to book. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

- "We loved our stay at the Junebug Cottage. The views are absolutely stunning and the fireplace is a cozy big winner!" - "Cute little cottage with good view and beach access. Price was right compared to other places. Small and cozy, just right for two people. The views are terrific, and so relaxing to be able to hear the ocean at night. It was really fun to walk down to the beach in the mornings and watch the clammers and crabbers. The house had everything we needed for meal prep. They've made good use of the limited space. Note that it's a jack and jill bathroom, just use caution not to lock each other out :) There's a covenience store within walking distance, and Cape Meares Lighthouse, Cape Lookout, Oceanside Beach, Jacobsen Sea Salt, and Tillamook Creamery are a short drive. Right on the beach, this modern 2-bedroom condo apt. has superb views of ocean sunsets, seals, eagles, pelicans, crab boats, and so much more. Quiet seaside village only 90 min. from Portland. Spectacular hiking trails at nearby Cape Lookout State Park, plus biking, kayaking, and old-growth forests are at your fingertips. Walk to restaurants and stores. You'll love relaxing in the living room window seat while enjoying the the incomparable scenery.

As soon as you make the turn onto Pearl Street, you'll be charmed by the spectacular sight below—Netarts Spit with its gleaming sands reaching into the Pacific and sheltering the entrance to our beautiful bay. Beyond rise the huge offshore stacks known as the Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge. Down the private driveway lies our small building with several apartments right on the beach. Within minutes you may spy seals poking their heads from the water just yards from our shore. Watch for great blue herons and bald eagles. Depending on season, there will be flocks of giant pelicans or beautiful waterfowl congregating on the sand, soaring above the bay, diving for food. You'll see all this from the comfort of a window seat in our oceanfront picture window, or enjoying a walk up and down the beach.

A 30-min. hike beside the crashing Pacific surf brings you to picturesque Oceanside, a good spot for lunch, dinner, espresso, or just watching hang-gliders launch from the peak and soar over the cliffside homes before landing on the broad beach. You can also take a short walk from our home to restaurants and a good general store right in Netarts. And it's only several minutes by car to Cape Lookout and Cape Meares State Parks, where trails wind through rare old-growth coastal rain forests high above the waves crashing against rocks and cliffs.

You'll return to the modern comforts of our home. It's small (about 839 sq. ft.), but it has everything you need for a short or long stay. All you need to bring is clothing. We even have a collection of books and games. There's DVD and rentals are available in Netarts and Tillamook. Washer and dryer are in our garage. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed (with ocean view), and the second bedroom has two twins. There's also a sofa sleeper in the living room; with only one bathroom, however, we don't recommend our place for parties larger than 4 for any length of time. It's a small quiet condo, and sometimes you won't see anyone else there.

Netarts is a place to enjoy Nature outdoors or from our picture windows. There are not a lot of other amusements or great shopping opportunities. (A short day-trip to Cannon Beach or Lincoln City can satisfy those urges.) Tillamook County does offer some hidden treasures inland from the beach, and we're happy to share these ideas with guests who reserve our place.

Plus, it’s only 10 minutes from Cape Lookout and 15 minutes from Tillamook. The condo is well-equipped with everything we needed during our stay, including a fully stocked kitchen.
