It’s a 5 min walk from the garage to the apartment in city center and up stairs, so getting luggage up is a little tedious, but so worth it. We did it with young kids everyday. The apartment isn’t super suited to young young kids like ours, but it’s still worth it. The covered porch is amazing to drink wine on and just enjoy Orta. There’s plenty of space for everyone in the apartment and it’s located in the enter of the town so super close to all restaurants (make sure to drink wine at the wine bar right outside the apartment building door). The apartment manager is fantastic, helpful, knowledgeable and responsive."

- "The property was in a stunning location overlooking the lake. It was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed including visits from their super cute dog. We felt extremely welcomed by our hosts, despite the language barrier and they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It is a short walk down hill along to the lakeside small free beach and and we were able to launch our paddleboard and kayak there. If you walk up the hill from the property, there is access to a pretty sleepy village. The beautifully quaint Orta San Guilo is a 5 minute drive away. It is a shame it is not accessible by walking as the road is busy and there is no path. Overall, a fabulous weeks holiday with our teenager and adult daughter!"

The house was the perfect arrangement for our extended family group of nine (two couples and five kids ranging in age from 10 to 21). One family stayed upstairs and the other had the two downstairs bedrooms. There was plenty of living space for everyone. The kitchen is small but well-equipped and even has a dishwasher. Having three bathrooms was very convenient. The views from the property are absolutely stunning, and the yard is enormous and beautiful. The proximity to the pedestrian path (right through the gate at the base of the property!) is divine—turn left and a five minute walk down an adorable cobblestone path takes you into the heart of Orta San Giulio, an idyllic little village with great restaurants, gelato shops, and a piazza with boat captains ready to take you out to the island (which we highly recommend—walking around the island is so picturesque and delightful). A right hand turn from the garden gate takes you to several docks where you can access the crystal clear water for a refreshing swim. You can continue on the path for quite a while, marveling at the gorgeous villas and the lush mountains. Giorgio was fantastic—so friendly and accommodating. Such an easy and pleasant stay. We wish we could have stayed for a month! We absolutely loved this place and hope to return! Can’t recommend it highly enough. Lake Orta is a hidden gem—uncrowded and gorgeous."

At the picturesque Lake Orta (I-28016 Orta / San Giulio, Via Novara 6, Villa Stresa no. 6) our Orta Rustico. The accommodation was newly built in 2018 and completed in 2019 and is located on the same property as our Villa Orta.

The 5,000 square meter property is overgrown with palm trees and fruit trees. There is a private bathing and boat place. The garden can be shared by all guests. Loungers and seating are available.

- "First of all we’d like to say that the property was fabulous - smart, well equipped & quiet (thanks to excellent glazing) despite the running water from the fabulous adjacent spring. We encountered an issue with payment - the only option was bank transfer to a bank account in Germany & our UK bank required more details than were provided on the invoice (sort code was needed). It also transpired that bed linen & towels were extra (not sure if this was highlighted in the property description). All was eventually resolved. Check in was straightforward. The location is stunning. Pedestrian access from the property to the town of Orta San Giulio is along a road with no footpath. On arrival we discovered that there was no WiFi available in our accommodation or in the apartments in the main building. We contacted the management company by email & received a prompt response early the next morning. Following a couple of email exchanges & a fortunate meeting with one of the residents of the main building, who was able to give us access, we managed to switch the WiFi on for all the apartments. Once switched on, the signal was very weak & insecure. We had a further issue that we had to report, again receiving a swift response but no positive action. If the weather had been favourable for us, we would have liked to use the shared barbecue facility as described in the online listing. It was approximately 30cm diameter & on its last legs. Washing machine was a bonus. Lovely place."
