I purchased and renovated Villa San Lorenzo because I wanted to provide a beautiful oasis for vacationers seeking delicious food and wine, lovely hikes, untouristed villages and enjoy a slower pace. There are seven bedrooms with air conditioning (Six rooms with King Size Beds, 1 room with the choice of 2 single beds or one King bed). Seven modern bathrooms with bath/shower, one bathroom with large glass shower, and one WC off of the chef’s kitchen.

We enjoyed cooking in a couple days, as nearby Dogliani has great stores for everything from pasta, meat, veggies, bread, etc, plus a farmer's market too. Unesco has included in the inventory of the WORLD HERITAGE OF HUMANITY remarkable sites as the "Sacri Monti" Orta, Ghiffa and Domodossola that are themselves in wonderful places.
Space is no longer enough. In bulk, do not forget some irreplaceable monuments we have not yet mentioned: the castle of Massino Visconti, the statue of Saint Charles Dagnente - Arona, the Romanesque church of San Donato Carpugnino, the Saint Catherine monastery the rock on the Lombardy side, the Church of St. Gervais and Protais in Baveno, the Sanctuary of Madonna del Sasso on Lake Orta, a few places, unforgettable cities and villages: San Giulio Island Lake in the center of Orta, Orta Verbania, Feriolo, Mergozzo, Arona.

The XVIIIth century house has been beautifully renovated and nicely furnished. It is spacious and fully equipped. It looks just like the pictures. The the view on the lake cannot be seen from the house or the garden, but we knew that beforehand. The walled garden is very beautiful and offers lots of privacy and shade. The house is great to stay in if it is too cold outside (and probably also when it is too hot outside). The sofas are wonderfully comfortable and there is a nice selection of music to listen to. There was nothing I missed in the house. Aline and Dominique are wonderful hosts. Their tips for the area were very valuable, such as for restaurants and for sights as the beautiful gardens of Villa Taranto, Orta with the Via Crocis and the surroundings of Lago d'Orta. Their help was also very welcome in finding the right tools against the mosquitoes and when parking in or out in the driveway. Parking from the narrow street remained a challenge, but it is good training for the narrow streets that you regularly encounter in small villages. Fresh bread and an espresso can be bought a few meters away and there is a large supermarket further down in the village. We recommend this house to everyone!"
