Welcome to a sprawling lakefront retreat on Berlin Lake, where you'll have acres to roam, a private driveway to the lake (with ramp and dock), a spacious and freshly remodeled home, and endless serenity and privacy.

You'll never run out of things to do. You're less than one minute from German Church Boat Ramp. Enjoy the pool, outdoor areas, trails, fire pit, included kayaks, indoor arcade, even a private apartment - this house is the escape you've been looking for. We look forward to hosting you!

Our home is easily accessed from 225. Behind the home is ODNR Road, which is a private road that leads to the lake (with ramp for jet skis, small boats, and kayaks). Our private dock is located at the end of the road. The only people with access to this road are ourselves and our neighbors. Across ODNR Road is state owned land that is forested, and there is only one other home between the lake and German Church Rd. This property is EXTREMELY private and a great place to escape civilization for a few days, while still being close to stores, restaurants, and other amenities.

The home has 4 full bedrooms (3 queen, and 1 with a full bed and twin bunk) and a covered porch with a folding futon that can sleep two more. There are also two living rooms, both equipped with oversized sofas that can comfortably sleep people.

The downstairs of the home is a studio apartment and has its own kitchen (with full appliances), full bath with shower, living area, and can be completely separated from the upstairs of the home if two families would like to cohabit the home in privacy without crossing paths. There are privacy panels that go up in seconds if you'd like to sleep multiple people downstairs. There is plenty of fun to be had between the pinball machine, arcade games, 70" 4k TV, and Xbox Series X (All free to play). You'll also find the washer and dryer downstairs past the kitchen, along with a freezer, where you can help yourself to free ice and reusable freeze packs for your coolers while on the lake. Please note that the large stone fireplace in the downstairs is decorative only and not to be used.

Upstairs you'll find another living area with a large electric fireplace you can use, a 55" 4k TV, a very large couch with two chaises that could sleep two, and a completely updated kitchen with high end appliances. Enjoy free coffee and tea in the morning with the included Keurig. We also include oatmeal you can make with the instant hot water from the filtered water dispenser. Off of the kitchen is a covered porch with views of the lake between the trees and a futon where kids will love to sleep. Off the living room is a door leading to a deck with grill, table and seating for six, and a fenced in area where kids can safely play without getting lost. The deck has a good view of the lake, but you're still far enough away from it that the people on the lake can't see you or the house.

Down the hallway you'll find the main bath with full tub/shower and three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and attached master bath with tub/shower. The rear bedroom has a single queen bed, and the middle bedroom has a full bed with a twin bunk above it.

In the yard you'll find the pool behind the large outbuilding on the property. The firepit is on the opposite side of the yard with a view of the lake between the trees. The hot tub is right behind the backyard deck. Behind the firepit you'll find a trail leading to the lake and another trail that winds through a wooded area and leads to an open area with views of the lake. The trails lead off our property and are on Army Corps of Engineers property (All property surrounding the lake is owned by them), so please be careful and respectful of their property. We cannot modify or maintain their property, so trails CAN be steep in areas. We have three kayaks and a paddleboard on property that you can use. Please return them to their storage when you're done enjoying them. We also have PWCs (Jet skis) available for usage, as well as a golf cart for exploring the property and moving you and items back and forth to the dock (these are separate from the house rental, so please send us a message if you're interested)

You can escape civilization entirely for as long as you want on this property, or you're also just minutes away from major shopping, restaurants, and other amenities.

We're down the road from an airport that offers skydiving (you can watch them from the yard or lake), there is a winery on the lake, and Alliance is less than 10 minutes away where you can find endless entertainment and dining options. We are approximately 25 minutes away from the Football Hall of Fame. We're also happy to share dining or entertainment options in the area if you'd like to ask.

You will have exclusive access to the main house, the pool, hot tub, the yard/trails surrounding the property, and access to ODNR Road that leads to the lake, private ramp, and dock. We STRONGLY encourage guests to consider using German Church Ramp for launching boats and jet skis as it is literally less than a minute from the home (turn left out of the driveway and then right onto German Church Rd). The private ramp is great for kayaks, canoes, tubes, and other small craft, but can be tricky for other crafts. Please be aware that our neighbors also have access to ODNR Road, so if you use the ramp, please do not block it and leave space for other vehicles/crafts. The dock is private and you will have exclusive access to it.

PWCs (Jet skis) and Golf Cart are available, but separate from the house rental. Please send us a message if you're interested.

The outbuildings on the property are private and there is no access for guests

Please only access the home from 225 and do not use ODNR road. If you want to access ODNR road, please drive between the two outbuildings at the turn in our driveway. However, in most instances, ODNR road should only be used for walking, golf cart, biking, etc.

Our goal as hosts is to create the ultimate lakefront retreat for all people, whether they prefer exploring, nature, serenity, or adrenaline-filled fun. What everyone has been waiting for - a Hot Tub!

If you'd like to enjoy some time on a PWC (Jet ski) on the water, but aren't bringing your own, we now have some available (separate from the house rental). Please inquire by messenger if you're interested.

A golf cart can be a fun way to explore the property and get back and forth from the dock, and we have one for you! This is also separate from the house rental, so please inquire by messenger

SOME IMPORTANT INFO FOR GUESTS:

For television, we have a household subscription to both Netflix for streaming and to YouTube TV for live stations, sports, network television, etc. All televisions in the home have been set up with these Streaming Services.

The pool is closed for the season on September 15th. It will reopen on or before Memorial day

The dock is removed from the water in the winter when they drain the lake.

Water levels can be low by our house starting in September (it varies, based on drought conditions). It is still an ideal location for kayaking so long as you remain in the riverbed. For boating or jetskiing when the lake is low, we recommend you launch from either Bonner Rd ramp or Dutch Harbor Marina.

In spring and early summer, the lake is the opposite and can be very full, so you may not have a large shoreline to walk and explore. If you have a very large (tall) boat or a fixed fiberglass top, you may also find it difficult to fit under the 225 bridge to get to our home and dock.

To see water levels and temperatures, you can visit the Berlin Lake Association page. When the water level is 1018 or higher, it's great for all boating. From 1017 to 1018, stay in the riverbed by our home and use caution. Under 1017, we don't recommend boating by our place unless you know the lake and riverbed very well.

With the doors shut on the bedrooms it was cool thankfully, but the upstairs living room and kitchen were SO hot, but it was also a very hot and humid week! We brought extra fans and it helped so just keep that in mind for a mid-summer stay. Overall we loved it and would highly recommend."

A 600-foot public swimming beach is located on the northwest side of the lake. Facilities include a bathhouse with changing booths and showers.

BOATING NO ALLOWED WHILE DRAINING
Boats with motors up to 9.9 horsepower are permitted on the lake. Launching ramps and seasonal dock rentals are available. Boat rentals are available from a privately-owned marina on the south side of the lake.

FISHING
Good catches of bass, bluegill, crappie and channel catfish can be taken at Guilford Lake. A valid Ohio fishing license is required.

PICNICKING
Shaded picnic areas with tables and grills are located at various points around the lake. A shelterhouse is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

BIKING AND HIKING
Beaver Creek State Park Excellent trails for biking and hiking.

AREA ATTRACTIONS
Two public golf courses (9-hole and 18-hole) are located near the park. Eight miles south of Lisbon on State Route 518, a Confederate monument commemorates the surrender of General John Hunt Morgan to Union forces on July 26, 1863.

Zepernick Lake State Wildlife Area, east of the park on State Route 172, offers public hunting and fishing. Yellow Creek State Forest, off State Route 39, offers hunting and hiking opportunities.

The Professional Football Hall of Fame is located in Canton, 23 miles west of the park off I-77 at Exit 24. For more information of area attractions, call the Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism at 1-800-Buckeye.

Local shopping is a mile away. Restaurants and a bar are very close. Several public boat ramps are available along with pay to use ramps. There is also an ice cream stand a very short distance away. Soft serve, yum.

Beautiful Log Cabin with high ceilings and country style furniture. The two lofts are accessible by sturdy strong ladders. One loft has a full and single mattress and the other loft has a single mattress on the floors. Due to the lofts, children under 8 years are not allowed.

The kitchen has a two unit glass cook top, microwave , coffee pot, toaster, hot pot, and other necessary items for meal preparation.

The cabin has a front porch with a table to sit and enjoy your coffee along with the view.
A picnic table and fire pit (wood provided) are in front of the cabin toward the lake. There is an outside grill and forks for making S’Mores. There is a swing for up to two people by the lake for watching those fishing or a private conversation.

The Log Cabin is private with air conditioning and and heat. A barn visit can be requested where we shelter the animals and if we are around you can help us feed the animals and collect the eggs. We have a Cob Oven on the property that you can see and even use if it works for us, there is an extra charge. We have Shitake logs that produce mushrooms when they feel like it. (we never know when...) The farm is a beautiful place for photography. We, the owners, live across the pond about a 3-5 minute walk. The Cabin is private.

Cove W winery is located on the lake. Masterpietro winery 10 minutes away Gervasi vineyards 40 minutes 1875 Winery 20 minutes.

This is a very dog friendly area. So dogs are welcome!! DOGS ARE NOT TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED IN HOUSE OR ON PROPERTY AT ANY TIME!

We found the house very clean and well stocked with all the basics you need in the kitchen, bathrooms. bedrooms etc. We enjoyed kayaking and fishing from the private pier. Located in the Southeast bay, the sunsets are unbelievable every night. Great family time with cookouts on the large grill over looking the lake or boating all day coming back to this treasured property with its own beach, it's a great get away. The cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. There is a full kitchen equipped with everything you need to prepare great meals. There's two family rooms with big screen TV's, with multiple seating set up for great entertaining. The cabin can sleep 8 very comfortably.

Some of which was on the lake itself and the rest was outdoors on the patio grilling and telling stories of years past. There's also a nice fire pit to spend time around once night falls."

Beautiful secluded log cabin surrounded by a gorgeous forest view. The 3500 square foot log cabin comfortably sleeps 16 people with 6 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms! The cabin is located less than a mile from Berlin Lake with all the amenities a family or large group would want in a vacation property. Public access to Berlin Lake is a short walk, less than a mile away, great for kayaking and fishing. Enjoy the outdoors on any of the 3 porches, play games on the lawn, or relax in the evening around the fire pit in our biergarten.

Located in Atwater, Ohio, just a mile from Berlin Lake, a perfect place for fishing and kayaking; a few miles from Alliance Ohio, home of the University of Mount Union. Canton and the Football Hall of Fame are only 25 minutes away. There are also quite a few breweries and wineries nearby. Akron and Youngstown are less than 30 minutes away.
You can walk to Berlin Lake and its public access point which is less than a mile away. Berlin Lake is connected to Deerfield Reservoir which has walking and riding trails. Plenty of other activities are within a short drive.
A few items about our family retreat.
- the cabin uses well water. It has been tested safe for everything; drinking, cooking, washing, and bathing. There is a common sulfur/egg smell. I would consider it slight. Others are more sensitive. No iron stains. There is a whole house water conditioner so the water is quite 'soft'. We do have a reverse osmosis filter on a water tap at the sink and the refrigerator water/ice.
- there will be mosquitos in the summertime. We'll have spray here, and we'll treat the Biergarten a few times each year.

Equipped with two wood fireplaces, a game and workout room, and screened in porch with an electric fireplace. Enjoy the outdoors with 9+ acres, fire pit, gazebo, and hot tub. Great place to accommodate horses with a two stall barn and paddock. Property is only minutes from Alliance with all the amenities of a town and food deliveries.

A tranquil retreat spot to getaway on Lake Milton. The Mountain Bike trail is in our side yard, walkable path to public hunting ground and the perfect creek for the kids to fish and swim in. Public fishing dock on Lake Milton just a walk through the woods. Home is fully updated and stocked with everything you will need for your getaway! This place is the best kept secret on the Lake! Please note the driveway is rough as it is part of the state park and not well maintained.

For the price, we would rent again if we would return to the area."

Our 3 bedroom home has plenty of room to spread out inside or outside. Bring your boat and park on the premises and enjoy the boat launch less than 7 minutes away. Plenty of things to do on site as well with a play set, over 5 acres of woods and a pond with Koi. If the lake is not for you, stay at the house and enjoy the pool! Have dinner with the whole family at our farm-style dining room table. Lastly, finish your day unwinding by the fire pit. We love our home and we know you will too!

Don’t worry about chasing down firewood, it will be stocked and waiting. An outdoor kitchen with propane grill is also ready for the BBQ chef of your group or family. Bring a life jacket and some sunscreen, we can also provide you with a pontoon ride and tour of Berlin Lake, weather permitting!

Please note, there is a dock available for use at the property. You may use it for fishing, swimming, or boating. Please limit guests on the dock to 6 only.

Please be advised we have well water at this house and you may want to purchase extra drinking water for your stay. A few bottles will be provided at check in. The water is treated and filtered but occasionally has a sulfur smell to it.

We provide a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels.

Also, there is a small supply of condiments in the refrigerator so you may not have to purchase your own during your stay.

We spray for insects yearly inside and outside the house.

Deck chair cushions are available in the deck box just off to the side of the deck fence by the well and grill.

- "The view is stunning. We watched the sunrise multiple times on their deck overlooking the lake and I never wanted to leave. Even sitting inside I couldn’t stop looking out at the view. We hope to come back every year. We were fortunate to have great weather and just relaxed and floated around in the lake. The neighborhood is quiet and lovely with kind and pleasant neighbors. We grilled out on their large grill and got takeout from nearby restaurants for our supper and lunches we got groceries and sandwiches from the Farm Market which I highly recommend. Their kitchen was fully stocked with everything so we were able to cook just fine. It did get warm a couple of days but the AC unit worked great and kept us cool. We did have two personal issues with needing to receive a package in the mail and our friends’ flight getting cancelled and Heather responded immediately. She was extremely helpful and kind and even went above and beyond to extend our stay an extra night. We loved our hosts and highly recommend staying here."
