The camp is a fully furnished 2 bedroom and 2 bath home with a large upper loft - the home sleeps a total of 10 people in beds. Our waterfront home has all the amenities of your home plus some things you might need while you enjoy your stay in our little piece of paradise. We provide a burner, boiling pot, propane grill, crab traps, fishing poles, pedal boat, kayak, plus all you will need in the kitchen to cook that pot of gumbo or fry up those fish you catch! Fish at night off of the dock lights or just relax in the bayou breeze. Of course there are also some great nearby restaurants for you to dine if the fish don't cooperate :).
Be sure to visit Olde Towne Slidell along with the quaint shops and restaurants. Check out their event calendar for their annual festivals which are sure to please. Fremaux Center is a great shopping and dining area and is only about 4 miles away. There are 4 grocery stores nearby also so don't worry if you forget to bring something!
Most importantly you will enjoy the serenity of the bayou breeze and the sound of the fish jumping, birds chirping and yeah you may see a gator or two in the wildlife reserve across the highway. High Tide is very comfortable, beautifully decorated 4 bedroom, 3 bath home located on the water of Lake Pontchartrain in a quiet suburb of New Orleans.

Relax and unwind on the shores of Lake Pontchartrain at High Tide, a spacious 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home with a fireplace, eat-in kitchen, separate dining room, and private deck/dock with direct access to the water for swimming, fishing, and boating.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed with water views. Two bedrooms each have a queen-size bed. There is a bunk room upstairs with 2 sets of bunk beds and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The home also has three full bathrooms (2 down, 1 up). The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, a eat-in breakfast area with table, and a separate dining room that seats eight.

Nestle in with your morning coffee or favorite nightcap on our large deck with multiple sofas and plush chairs. The deck is only 15 feet from the water that easily seats 8 with extra chairs for overflow. The deck and dock are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the views of the water. Please note: All of our properties are located in quiet, residential neighborhoods. Pets, loud parties, more guests than the maximum listed, and excessive vehicles (>3) are not allowed and grounds for dismissal without refund.
We will allow one certified service dog with appropriate certification papers but only with the payment of a $250 non refundable carpet cleaning fee. Multiple service animals are not allowed.

High Tide is 7 minutes from some of the best fishing in the country. Bring your boat and kids and swim, ski, fish and boat in Lake Pontchartrain. There is a large dock with deep water access via boat. The lake is a 5 minute boat ride from the dock. You can even fish right off the dock in the front yard. However, the nearby Rigolets offer with incredible salt water fishing plus access to fresh water fishing within 20 minutes by boat.

There are also plenty of restaurants, shops, and attractions nearby, making it the perfect place to explore all that the New Orleans area has to offer.

The neighborhood

Located on Bayou Bonfouca in the center of town. Scenic waterways abound and there is quite a bit of wildlife even in this location. Laze the days away fishing from the dock, plenty of peace and relaxation if you want it. If not there's plenty to do--there is always something going on in Olde Towne from Mardi Grad parades passing right on Front St to food and arts festivals all year long. Conveniently centered in the Historic Olde Towne District of Slidell, only steps from a thriving community. Walking distance to Heritage Park, famous Palmettos Restaurant, Amtrak Station, Times Bar & Grill, Slidell Museum, antiques stores and restaurants. Visit the Arts District and upscale blues club, nearby Dew Drop Inn. Easy 30 minute drive to New Orleans without the hustle and bustle. Take the train over beautiful Lake Ponchartrain and scenic marshes to the Big Easy for an overnight visit. Plenty to do and see unless of course you just want to relax and you can do plenty of relaxing in the bungalow on a lazy morning, afternoon or evening.

Getting around

The Amtrak station is only a couple of blocks away. Other than that there is no public transportation, however, there are canoes and kayaks available for sightseeing on the historic, scenic bayou. There is also a major biking/walking/jogging trail called the St. Tammany Trace which extends along the entire Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain and Camp Salmen Nature Park, with nature walk, park, and playground.

- "Perfect space for a one person or couple. Extra space in the shower. Very thought out set up. Fully fenced with just enough space to get some private sun. Being able to cook saved money. The full fridge and freezer removed the concerns if leftovers or grocery items would fit. Great sized bed with plenty of pillow options to choose from. Air conditioning was AMAZING to walk into after +90 degree days. Having space available to lark the rental was also a major plus. Only small inconveniences were the slight lip going from the kitchen to the bathroom (tripped a couple times) no electric dishwasher or washer dryer. But the utensils were immaculate, I traveled solo, so doing a quick cleaning after eating made for nice routine / relaxation. There's a small coin laundry place just down the road if it is a major concern. If I come back solo or with my bride, this will be the first place I look for availability."
