- "It is convenient to the interstate, lots of restaurants within driving distance, a nice lobby, great Continental breakfast, elevator, very clean, friendly helpful staff, and great rooms. The only negative is the entry road is right beside another road and it is hard to tell which is which. We turned off to the wrong road a couple times and you have to go back out on the highway and find your way back in. There are no interconnecting parking lots with the neighboring businesses, which would be very helpful. All in all a great motel. "

- "Peaceful and beautiful!!" - "We were in town for a funeral and the peace and serenity of the Inn was fantastic! The beds were so comfortable!! The staff even put extra towels in our room because my daughter and I both have long hair and normally use 2 towels for showers lol! - "Pleasing " - "The staff was very accommodating. They helped us out when some in our party arrived early. VERY pleasant at the front desk! The hotel is somewhat dated. Really could use a renovation. Old doors and worn fixtures look dirty, but it was clean. There was an old, stagnant smell in the room. Oddly, the clock in the room is set to run 30 minutes fast. Housekeeping was coming through the door at 9:30 when check out is at 10:00. I wondered if that was intentional. We felt safe and the price was right for us at the time."

- "Very nice place" - "Convenience " - "nice comfortable well run" - "I paid at the hotel after making the reservation for 2 rooms for 2 nights online. They charged $50.00 more than I was supposed to be charged. Also the rooms were each supposed to have a King bed but one had double beds. The rooms were clean and the beds are comfortable. Our first night was peaceful. We were up early and gone until late the next night but when we got back one of our rooms door was open and must have been that way all day as the room had fresh towels. After further inspection, it was obvious that the door wouldnt latch unless it was aggressively shut. I advised the office, hopefully it gets fixed. The second night wasnt as peaceful. One of the other patrons had a drunken knock down drag out fight with his co occupant. They threw each other in and out of the room breaking beer bottles in the breezeway. Our experience was unfortunate as we travel often to Hartselle and had hoped to find a place in town to stay to be closer to our family. When we return to Hartselle will again stay in Decatur at other establishments about 10 miles away. "

- "It was a beautiful property! The river behind the house is so nice to look at and the house is gorgeous and was clean" - "The pictures are nice but being there in person really shows the charm of this house. Inside it’s well suited for just sitting around and chatting. Outside with the option of being in the screen porch or the open deck watching the creek flow by, was amazing, Add to that all of the birds singing and I can see why they named the house that way. Even walking down to the creek and walking along it brings so much of the natural beauty of the place out. Driving past the white pillared historic house to get to this house just adds to that feeling of being in another time and at a nicer pace. But once you pull into the covered carport you don’t even know the other buildings are the most of the time. There are weddings done at the other house and property on occasion. The owners were told us well ahead. I was a little apprehensive as to whether that would change the feeling of the stay for those few hours. It actually had the opposite effect. We never saw any people from our secluded setting. Yet we enjoyed sitting out that evening and hearing the laughter and music coming from the reception up over the hill. There are miles of gravel trails starting down the road on the other side of Mooresville. Unless you have an incredible cycle you have to ride. There is a bike shop in Mooresville which rents nice gravel bikes for $40 a day. So save yourself from carrying and stowing bikes too. Or just drop in there to look at the cool accessories they have and meet the owner. They do mobile repairs so even if you get a flat on the trails you can call the bike shop. Everything was simply amazing!"

We totally get it—no one loves rules, including us! But we’ve had to put some guidelines in place based on what we`ve learned along the way. We really appreciate our amazing guests who love our place as much as we do and want to help keep it great for their return visits and for future guests! A booking constitutes acceptance of all house rules and listing description.

1. All overnight guests must be registered at time of booking in order to stay the night. All other guests must leave before 10pm. No 3rd party bookings allowed, no local guests allowed.

2. Checkout time is anytime prior to 10am. Guests who remain past checkout time will be charged an additional $50 per half hour of late checkout.

3. Parking is ONLY available in front of the home on the gravel pad. At no time should you park behind the home. Vehicles will be towed at owners expense.

4. We are unable to refund on non-refundable discounted reservations, inclement weather, power outages, road conditions or acts of God. Please purchase travel insurance for any unforeseen events.

5. We assume no responsibility for items left behind. Please make sure to gather all items prior to checking out.

6. Our cleaning fee is based on a `courteous guest`. If the house or linens are damaged or neglected, in a condition beyond what a reasonable, courteous, guest, would leave the dwelling in, an additional cleaning fee will be assessed. Reservations over 14 nights will require a by weekly cleaning at guests expense.

7. Absolutely no smoking of any kind to include cannabis. If we find evidence or smells related to smoking, guest is responsible for paying to host for any smoke damage.

8. No delivery of items is allowed at anytime to this address. No exceptions.

9. Pets allowed if approved by host and added to your reservation at the time of booking. 1 dog under 40 lbs only please. Please do not allow your animal to access our bedding or furniture. Pets must be included in your reservation at time of booking and pet fee paid prior to check in.

If your pet is not added at the time of reservation and you would like to bring your dog, please let us know and we will offer payment options for the fee.

Our pet policy states that pets should not access our furniture or linens. If you think your pet may access our furniture, please use the provided couch cover and old sheets to protect our furniture and linens. We provide small garbage bags for refuse clean up. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pet. This is not included in the cleaning fee.

This space is set up for 6 adults (see the bed set up), however we allow for more so that families can take advantage of the space. Besides the beds there are two couches, two love seats, and an air mattress.
