The Home away from Home!

The house was built with a north/south orientation to allow the lovely morning sun into the family areas and take advantage of the beautiful ocean breeze when you open the front and rear doors. The entire house has fly screens so you can let the outside in without unwanted flying visitors!

The master bedroom is huge and lots of light, a walk in wardrobe and it's own ensuite with shower, basin and toilet. The screened sliding door allows direct access to the alfresco dining area but still maintains your privacy. Bedroom 2 has a Queen bed and Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds.

Please bring your own linen. Pillows and doonas with covers are provided. We do have an optional high quality linen service at additional cost. Linen service is charged at $75 per room and you will receive the following;
- Sheridan Egyptian cotton fitted sheet, top sheet and 2 pillowcases
- Sheridan Egyptian cotton towels including 2 bath towels, 2 face washers, a hand towel and bath mat
- 1 Kitchen tea towel per stay

A fully appointed kitchen with stone bench tops, dishwasher, large 5 burner stainless steel gas cooktop and wide electric oven. Under bench sink for easy cleaning and a separate built in water filter tap for delicious drinking water. Large French double-door fridge with water & icemker, along with a versatile chilling drawer and a huge freezer will cater for every need. Almost every utensil and plenty of non-stick pots and pans. With plenty of space and a full length pantry, cooking will be a breeze.

The family and theatre rooms have quality couches for your comfort. Both rooms are fitted with 50" LED TVs and Sony Blu-ray players which also double as media players for movies and shows on your USB device. The Blu-ray players are connected to the Sony entertainment network with lots of channels that stream movies, TV & kids shows (including ABC for kids) direct from the internet. Both rooms now also have Apple TV with Netflix for thousands of free movies & TV shows. The family room also has a T-Box with extra channels and the ability to record live TV.

The second bathroom contains a shower, toilet, basin and a large deep bath to accommodate almost any size! The laundry has a washing machine and dryer with sliding door access to the side of the house.

You'll love undercover alfresco area with the large aluminium & glass 6 person outdoor setting and a Weber Q BBQ. The morning sun hits the area perfectly for breakfast and is shaded as the heat of the day approaches.

The area

Barlings Beach/ Tomakin is a lovely and quite seaside town almost right in the middle between Batemans Bay and Moruya.

Barlings beach is less than 400m from your front door. It is great beach with reasonable surf which is time share pet friendly. If you want something more suited to the young children, then check out Tomakin cove, about 100m to the right of Barlings. This little cove is sheltered, quite shallow and has no waves, perfect for kids.

Another 2 minute walk further to the right and you come across Tomakin Beach, middle ground when it comes to surf. Tomakin is a pet friendly beach all year round. It is a large beach with both shallow calm areas and some areas with mild waves for a bit of boogie boarding. It stretches for some distance right round to the Tomago river, which is also a great place to float around and be carried up or down the tidal river.

For night out, the Tomakin Sports and Recreation club is less than a 10 minute walk from the house and great food, drinks and activities at great prices. The IGA supermarket and bottle shop is only 2-3 mins away by car and Smokey Dan's next door is also a great feed for dine in or take away.

Feel like a day away from the lovely beaches, you can always visit Mogo only a 5 min drive where you will find the remarkable Mogo Zoo and many little boutique arts and crafts shops.

Saturday mornings is market day at Moruya. Visit the stalls along the river inlet for locally made products and produce with local eateries.

And of course there is always Batemans Bay for shopping, cinemas and lots of fine dining.

- "Comfortable, clean, relaxing, had all we needed. Great location close to everything but quiet, and lovely view." - "Was a wonderful place with its own self contained private studio just minutes away from Tomakin beach . Although the home was not the largest in size, the perks of this cosy stay meant the family was always drawn close together for quality time. Lovely views with adequate air-conditioning provided made it a relaxing stay . The front of the house included a nice outdoor sitting/ entertainment area where you can also have meals and enjoy the sea breeze. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed as well! Some minor issues / feedback to consider is we could not lock the studio from inside which meant anyone could walk into the property and open it , but I believe the owner is working on this. It is to be noted the owner provided an external padlock from outside during our stay but this meant the occupants of studio had to be locked in at night then let open in the morning which is not convenient. The bathroom windows also had no flyscreens provided and due to many insects around summer it is not advised to keep it open, but I'm sure the owner is working on some sort of solution for this. The external bins were full and this was extremely frustrating but this was not the owners fault as the previous vacationers did not put the bins out for collection. The small gas hot plate provided in the external entertainment area had the non stick surface peeling off and had to be covered with foil for cooking. The above were just minor inconveniences that can easily be rectified for future guests , however, the overall experience was full of fun with the family and friends !! The owner, Marcus, was also a pleasure to deal with and very prompt with any queries we had before and after the stay ."
