Point Beach Guest House has 1700 square feet of living space. Lots of yard for fun, games, sitting around the fire pit or putting together your creation on the provided propane grill. (propane provided)

Our guests have enjoyed the large manicured yard, easy access to the beach, and the biking and hiking trails. In the winter these trails are groomed for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in a beautiful snow-covered forest.

Sit in the yard, relax and enjoy the country, then when you feel like it use our central location to visit the many activities in the area.

Neshotah Park with lots of sand and shower and food facilities is only 3 miles away.

When it is chilly, a warm fireplace provides a lovely retreat for snuggling with a good book, a cup of hot chocolate or friendly fireside conversation.

Avoid the crowds of Door County, but you can visit there with a short drive. Two Rivers is an untapped vacation spot with lots of activities nearby including several miles of white sandy beach.

Being by the lake produces a feeling of relaxation and you can sense it pretty easily in this easy going place called Two Rivers, and especially right here at the Smiling Bear Cabin. There are many nearby hiking and XCSki/Showshoeing trails including ice age trail segments, and wonderful beach and picnicking spots. Staying at the Smiling Bear puts you at the heart of everything available in the area and gives you a nice place to call home and make great family memories.

Our place sits on 1/3 acre, across the road from Lake Michigan and the Mariner's Trail, which runs along the coastline. The way our home is angled, you can see the lake from much of the yard and just about every room of the house. We have Swings, Volleyball, Croquet, Badminton, & Sidewalk Chalk! We have a Fire-Pit and a Wood Shed [which may or may not have firewood at any given time]. To round out the outdoor fun, we have a huge Wrap Around Deck w/Gas Grill [Propane Provided], Picnic Table, Patio Table w/Umbrella, and extra chairs.

Inside home layout is ideal w/Open Concept KT/Dining/LR so everyone can enjoy one anothers company during family cooking and cleanup time in our well stocked kitchen. Access Deck from Patio Doors or back kitchen door making a convenient round robin layout perfect for entertaining. Main floor laundry for guest use.

Enjoy solitary beach access right from the backyard, explore and search for beach glass, fossils, rocks and yooperlights at your own leisure! Out of the front yard has direct access to over 10 miles of meandering trails in the Raur West Forest to hike, bike or ski.

Just a short drive of under 5 minutes to access the Point Beach State Forest with miles of walking trails, well maintained bike trails and rustic ice age trails.
Cottage is a 7-mile short trip to Two Rivers through the forest to the grocery, restaurants, and groomed beaches.

The cottage is always very well maintained, we keep the place top notch clean and always try to provide the needed essentials for your stay. Including a food pantry with essentials and snacks. And a stocked refrigerator with all unopened new essentials for your stay. Bathroom is stocked as well with towels and all cleaning essentials.

The cottage is set back down a long blacktop driveway from a low traffic road and is one of the last few true quiet places around that will provide a wonderful relaxing stay all to yourselves. With the large yard overlooking the lake you will be able enjoy everything it has to offer while BBQing, having a outdoor picnic, outdoor games, and our new addition for this year a propane fire pit on the back deck.

All we ask is that you try to keep the place clean and have a great time! There is no hidden fees or cleaning fees or chores to do except wash your dishes before leaving.

- "My wife and I stayed at Russ’s cabin on a weekend escape. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well-stocked. You could quite literally come with almost nothing except clothes and feel at home. The cabin is located on Lake Michigan, there was a strong breeze during our stay and the sound of the waves was very relaxing and easily audible from the cabin kitchen and living room. A short walk through a beautiful stand of red pines leads you to a picnic table on a bluff above the beach, and another short walk on well-marked trails takes you down to a very private stretch of beach. We spent most of the afternoon on a Saturday lounging on the beach and saw only two other people at a distance. There is excellent hiking immediately across the street and down the road at the nearby Point Beach State Forest. Our only complaint is that the weekend went too fast! We would definitely stay again! The area is very quiet and perfect for a quick break from the hustle and bustle of modern life."

We provide a canoe, paddle board and 4 kayaks during your stay with us!

There are two decks with one facing the river as you watch the kayakers/boaters and many species of birds and the other deck is in front of the house viewing a large open yard with deer!
