- "Room are a little small for American standards, and there is no fan. But that is pretty standard for hotels in this region. The windows do open though! The bed is comfortable. The rooms are clean. Management is friendly. The free breakfest is good. There is a light rail stop about 3 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and the shopping center next door has a supermarket with affordable prices. There is also an alcohol store, and the hotel has a resturant attached. The local police also monitor the square daily by car and on foot patrol so it a pretty safe place to stay. I would stay here again. Do note that the hotel room does not come with a fridge or way to heat up food, so you will have to eat out alot or eat precooked meals. Which you can do quite easily with so many shops and resturants bring in walking distance. "

- "Rented a cottage to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. The rea is great and the cottage was newly renovated. The first downside is lacking of information of the hotel. We didnt find any info that we have to bring put own bedsheets and towels because we booked the ”cheapest” cottage according to the receptionist. So we didnt have any choice but to pay 100 sek/person. The 2nd downside are the staff in the reception area. They were not friendly or we didnt even feel like they treat us as guests just because we are foreigners.. This property is our second home and it's located in an idyllic and child-friendly area in Norrtälje, Stockholm. Just 10 minutes by car you find Norrtälje with shops and restaurants.

The big house has 4 bedrooms and 1 loft, 7 beds and 7-9 sleeps. One bathroom.

The guesthouse ,that is self contained, have one room with 1 double bed, 1 loftbed for a small child, bathroom and kitchen. The houses is connected with a deck where you can come together for dinner and activities.

Some weeks, often during school holidays, every year it’s possible that the house will include our 2 cats which is very childfriendly and easy to take care of. During this weeks is not possible to bring own animals.

It's just a 5 minute walk to the ocean with a nice beach suitable for families and a football field next to it. It is just 45 minutes from Stockholm if you would like to explore for one day. You need to have a car to have a comfortable stay.

We are a family with 3 children, 15-17 years old so we have toys and an outside trampoline for that age but also for younger children.

We also have a couple of bikes, a canoe, simple fishing gear and lots of other things suitable for families.

One of the beds are in the loft area with stairs and here you find a king size bed but it's not full standing headroom.

In the garden you have different areas for dining, one with a roof. We have a large dining table for 10 or more both inside and outside.

We don't smoke and do not allow smoking inside.

We also have our main house in Stockholm available for rent so we have lot of experience taking care of quests.

Lilla Stenkulla is easily accessible by communter boats that traffic the island 10 times/day in each direction. It takes 10 min to Vaxholm and 1 hour to downtown Stockholm. There are also boat taxi firms in Vaxholm. Car and boat parking is available on the mainland.

Vaxholm, the capital of the archipelago, has a lot of history, not least with Vaxholm's fortress, as well as picturesque buildings with alleys and cozy shops. In Vaxholm there are about 20 restaurants, pharmacy, grocery stores, cafes, fresh fish, supermarkets, bakeries with fresh bread, movie theater, ATM and lots of ice cream parlors! Within 20 minutes by own- or taxi boat there are another 10 restaurants with seaside locations. From Vaxholm you can easily take a Vaxholm boat further out in the archipelago. From Arlanda it takes 45 minutes.

The island of Stegesund is classified as a national heritage because of all the merchant villas from the turn of the century and Stenkulla itself has been classified as extraordinary. On the car-free island there is a gravel road that is perfect for jogging and there is also a tennis court. In Vaxholm there is a golf course, canoe and bike rental etc and Catch & Relax offers guided fishing trips from the island.

Stenkulla Gård has been in Johan Nordquist's possession since 2002 and has gradually been upgraded and renovated to the treasure it is today. Here we celebrate Easter, Midsummer, birthdays. Numerous summer lunches have been held with family and friends. Johan is self-employed, married, with six children and lives in downtown Stockholm.

Charming newly renovated cottage of 35 sqm with large sleeping loft of 27 sqm. Highly situated with a large terrace of 96 sqm with magnificent lake views. The lot is 5000 sqm with summer meadow in front of the house and forest behind. The house dates from the beginning of the 20th century and has a year-round standard with toilet, shower, washing machine and complete modern kitchen as well as dishwasher. So, wood stove as well as heat and cold air pump. The living room has TV, DVD and a two-bed couch. Loft with a double bed and 2 single beds.

In front of the house you have a large trampoline and an area where you can play either badminton / volleyball. Behind the house you find the forest with lots of blueberries to pick when season.

At Rindö there are 3 restaurants and a small grocery store. You have several places around the island where you can swim

It takes about 40-45 min from Stockholm by car. The car ferry runs from Vaxholm to Rindö 3-5 times per hour and takes about 5 minutes. Or there is also a car ferry between Värmdö and Rindö. Vaxholm, the capital of the archipelago, is located about 30 kilometers northeast of Stockholm. A picturesque little town with several shops and restaurants.

Beautiful boat trips all day long from Vaxholm (or Rindö early morning 1 boat and return from Stockholm in the afternoon) to the center of Stockholm are available, along with other boat trips to numerous islands in the archipelago.

This is a great and calm place not far from Stockholm and you also have the access to explore the Swedish archipelago by multiple boat trips chosen from in Vaxholm.

The nearest shopping center is 7 minutes by car (4 km). The nearest bus stop is 5 minutes walk. The nearist ferry stop is 20 minutes walk. You can take ferries or buses to the city center, it takes 35-40 minutes, With the ferries you can also go east, to the archipelago. With car it takes 25 minutes to the city center. From the car parking to the seaside house it is 150 meter to walk.

The property is about 3000 m² and has its own bridge where you can spend time snorkeling, swimming or fishing with plenty of space. There is a canoe and a little boat for shorter expeditions round the islands.
The house is 135m² in two plans and have wifi all over.
Oppside is two sleepingrooms with double beds and a hall with a double sofa. Bikes are possible to have a number of extra beds.
Downside is a complete kitchen with, I think, all you will need. In the kitchen is a place for eating and there is a bigger room for eating. Besides, there is a sitting room for relaxing, watch tv or play games. Inside is smoking not allowed.
Just outside is a large balcony where you can grill and have your dinner
or morning breakfast. In the house front are several of parkingplaces.
The neighborhood area is very calmly. The foodmarket (ICA) and the bus stop are five min. away walking.
Waxholm (the archipelagic capitol) is 15 min. med buss og har en festning (to stop the russians arond the year of1500) and has a lot of restuarangs and small shops. To Arlanda airport is 50 min. and to Stockholm it is 30 min.
Here you have possibletys to ride horses, tennis, golf, fishing, cycling, walk in nature, mini golf and bath for small children and more.
