Our home is a very lovely, one bedroom lakefront cottage (it is a duplex) with an all knotty pine interior, fireplace, very large master bedroom, well stocked kitchen, large living room/dining room, and new bath.Charming, cozy and immaculate in a great lakeside neighborhood with neighborhood park and YMCA. Cozy in the winter and FABULOUS in the summer.

This is a quaint home located within the historical Harbortown District. You'll find yourself within a 5 minute walk from the beautifully renovated Main Street Beach. Along your walk, you will come across our Art Gallery as well as local shopping and fine dining you will not find anywhere else.

Being a small town on a Great Lake, there are many things you can do on the water. Spend your day renting a kayak, paddleboats, a boat or jet skis. We offer tours along the Vermilion River learning about our history or rent a boat to enjoy a relaxing day of fishing.

Vermilion has a long history of rail fans and offers several spots to stop and enjoy the passing trains. One area is very close to our house, at Victory Park.

It is only a 20 minute drive into Sandusky where you’ll find Cedar Point, Kalahari and the newer addition Cedar Point Sports Park. It’s also only 20 minutes from downtown Oberlin and 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland.

The house was very clean, bright and attractive, and accommodated two families (four adults, three kids) by utilizing the pull-out sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is narrow, but well stocked with dishes and utensils for preparing meals. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor space-- a grassy area for games and cooking-out, and a shared picnic area and fire pit overlooking the lake, along with private access to the lake. The property is close to Cedar Point (about 20-25 mins), but well removed from the built-up area near the park's entrance. It's also close to the Vermillion, a pleasant town with a nice Main Street and public beach. Communication with the owner, Kathleen, was always timely and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again if we visit this area in the future."

We have a lovely, very comfortable one bedroom, one bath unit that sleeps two, on a queen size bed. Our home is newly remodeled with a fantastic yard right on Lake Erie. The home is on a hill overlooking the lake with a million dollar view. There is no beach. There are several nice beaches close by. The unit is completely furnished and in a very convenient location. You can enjoy sitting in the large yard, relaxing, playing games, barbecuing and viewing the sunsets in the evening.

Vermilion is a quaint little town situated right on Lake Erie with its own beach and boardwalk. We are located two miles from the Public Boat Ramp in Vermilion. The downtown area has several restaurants and ice cream parlors and a very popular French restaurant. The Great Lakes Maritime Museum is also located on the north end of town. There is usually something going on downtown during the summer months; such as Music in the Park, antique car shows, in June we have a Festival of the Fish and of course we cannot forget the internationally famous Woolly Bear Festival in the fall. Who would think a little orange and black worm could have its own festival.

We are 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland and 25 minutes from Cedar Point. Kalahari Water Park and Great Wolf Lodge are just as easily accessible. Catch a Ferry to the Lake Erie Islands, Put-in-Bay and Kelly's Island.

Our cozy cottage is located a few houses from Lake Erie. Take a stroll through the neighborhood to Showse Park which has amazing views of the lake or visit Main Street beach for swimming, canoeing and more. There are dozens of great dining options for everyone; celebrate a special occasion at Chez Francois, have a meal on the water at Quaker State, order delicions BBQ from Your Pit BBQ, or visit local watering holes Rudy's (best wings) and Woodstock. Visit local shops downtown to find souvenirs.

Our home can sleep 4 people comfortably with a King size bed and a pull-out couch. We also have air mattresses. We also have a fire pit and corn hole set for outdoor enjoyment. Sit in sun room and relax. There's also a desk if you need to do some work.

- "We absolutely love staying at this property. It is our 2nd time and every little detail is taken care of from the fully stocked kitchen essentials to toiletries and all the comforts of home. We were even greeted (both stays) with a lovely bottle of wine and welcome gift. We absolutely love the neighborhood and feel so much at home while we stay. The house is decorated as if someone lives there full time and the owners are so generous with extra linens, and all the things you might forget (from bug spray to sunscreen to ziplock bags). When they say they are pet friendly, they aren’t kidding. There are extra toys, treats and even a mat for your dog dishes. Our little shihtzus love getting to feel pampered as well. We can’t say enough about this property and the incredible hosts. We will stay here again and again!"

Your beautiful living space is the first floor unit of a charming, 1920s Victorian-style home that is also listed on the Vermilion Historic Register. This area of Harbourtown is historically where many fish shanties and the homes of town fisherman once stood. Today, it is located in the heart of Vermilion, but also the heart of Northern Ohio's, Lake Erie Vacationland.

THINGS TO NOTE:
This vacation home is a duplex, and in the top unit is a quiet, long term tenant. The duplex is set up to where you will have completely private and segregated access to the front porch and entire first floor via the front door. The top tenant has access to the top unit only through a stairwell on the side of the house and does not have a key or password to the VRBO. The tenant will occasionally do laundry in the separate, outdoor access basement as well.

Your free parking is the whole driveway along the entire right side of the house. There is room for 4 cars, OR a car and a boat! This driveway is shared with the house next door but we own about 2/3rds of it so don't worry too much about snugging up your car right against the house. The quiet, long term tenant parks in front of the house all the way to the left.

We listed the amount this VRBO can sleep as 7, however, there is also a trundle bed underneath the bunk bed, as well as a pull-out single sleeper in the master bedroom that folds up like a chair. These would be comfortable for a small child but not practical for an adult, which is why we kept the sleep count at 7. However, if you are booking with many kids, the sleep count could be increased to 9 if the two sleeping in these beds were small children.

- "We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, clean unit. It is easy walking distance, 4-5 blocks, from downtown Vermilion, and just another block to the beach. It is in a quiet part of town so it was very relaxing - just what we were looking for. There are several nice restaurants nearby, including some that are good for kids." - "Well done on the house. Very clean and easy to walk downtown." - "This is a charming house with well-preserved historic features. The original hardwood floors are gleaming, and every room was neat and tidy. The furniture and decor is newer and fresh with a young vibe that honors the nautical history of Lake Erie. Each air conditioning unit worked well to regulate the bedrooms and common area to our preferred temperatures. We liked the ceramic coffee mugs and choice of using the drip or Keurig coffee makers. There was a nice welcome basket of snacks upon arrival, and many needed supplies were provided. The location was great for us to tour Vermillion or head out to Cedar Point for the day! Communication with the owners was quick, concise and pleasant. We highly recommend this lovely home (and hope to be back one day)!"
