Nope, once we got inside and saw how nice and cozy it was decorated and how much it had a feel of home. We talked about sitting down with the owners to hear the story of their times at the cottage. We imagined it was their getaway retreat home for the weekends to waterski and enjoy the lake. My wife worked with someone who’s husband we believe skied on the same ski team and they probably know each other. Never having a honeymoon this place was perfect for us and we couldn’t recommend it enough. I wish we go there once a month for a mini retreat from the hustle and bustle of life."

You're not staying in an investment property, this home is our family home and has been for over 50 years. We want to share the wonderful amenities and character of the 3000+sqft home with you while we are away. You have access to the whole house. Each room has it's own unique flare and amenities. The master has a small walk in closet and private half bath. The "Blue room" has beautiful vintage furniture and a large closet full of children's toys. The "Green room" has a queen size bed and a modern flare. The "Yellow room" is geared towards the traveler with a simple grace with a private balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or book. Downstairs enjoy a private office space, reading lounge, large family dining room, quaint breakfast nook, large kitchen, front patio and sunroom/laundry room .

- "We enjoyed our stay at this historical home in Medina. The location was great...just a few blocks from Medina's square. The bedrooms were nicely sized with comfortable beds. The listing states sleeps 10 but I don't see how that's possible as there wasn't a pullout sofa. I would say sleeps 9 at most with one person on the couch. The house had a nice kitchen space with all you could need (foil, plastic bags, soap, sponge, etc) and laundry room with detergent. The front and back yards were large so lots of room for the kiddos to run around. The fire pit was nice, and it came with wood but there are no outdoor chairs to enjoy the space. All in all, we liked this home and would stay again!"

I strive to be extraordinary quick with responses, if you have a question ask. When in town I will check the pool and hot tub chemicals 2x/week. Usually Monday and Friday mornings with the latter being trash day. Friday will be around 8am typically mow that day as well.
Please have garbage out the night before. I will take the cans down. I ask that you please take the empty cans back to the house it’s impossible to time when the service will pick them up. There is a dog fee $100 please add your pet when entering guest information.

Any requests that come in after midnight while the cleaner is already scheduled for that day will have an additional cleaning fee.

Getting Around:
Travel by car is the most popular choice but being only 4 blocks from downtown Medina, it is a shorty Lyft/Uber from most venues to our home. Lyfts and Ubers are always readily available. The location is very walkable to all the events being held on the square.

Central Medina is mostly walkable from the property, otherwise Medina is mostly accessed by car, however, public transportation is available with published bus routes and there is always an Uber available!

Besides the plethora of Coffee shops, restaurants and the Medina Square within 4-5 blocks of our property, Medina is home or close to home for many Ohio businesses. Medina is also popular for family events such as:

Bedding, linens and towels included. This is also handicap friendly with a ramp to enter and shower bars. Outdoor renovations will be started this spring but the inside is warm and cozy.

Oberlin is centrally located for many parks and recreation. It is only 30 minutes west of Cleveland and Hopkins International Airport. Cedar Point is only 40 minutes and it is a short 20 minute drive north to the beaches of Lake Erie. Findley Sate Park (disc golf, kayaking, camping) is just a 20 minute drive south. Oberlin College is one mile from our Casita and is walkable by safe sidewalks. This is also where restaurants and quaint shops can be found It would be our pleasure to help you plan your stay

Owners thought of everything in the house and decorated it nicely. Conveniently located in a quiet Medina neighborhood within walking distance to the Historic Medina Town Square, coffee houses, eateries, craft breweries, grocery stores, drug stores, banks, and so much more. Love the outdoors? Relax on our spacious back yard patio or get out and explore over 21 parks and nature preserves throughout Medina County.

The galley kitchen is fully equipped to prepare or serve your favorite meals. There is an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, pressure/slow cooker, griddle, coffee maker, bakeware, dishes, silverware, and much more.

The dining area includes a dinette set that can expand from 4 people to 6.

The large living room has 3 reclining chairs, a full-size couch, fireplace with a 55" wall-mounted flat-screen smart TV with ROKU. Wi-Fi is provided with GUEST MODE activation, so you are free to use any of the apps that appear on the television screen and also safely download your apps like Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. apps. Your personal information is automatically deleted upon your checkout date. The living room cabinet is where board games, cards, puzzles, and a few books are stored for you to enjoy.

From the living room, walk out to the large cement patio where you can enjoy a campfire on the firepit, dine outdoors, relax in the sun, or enjoy the many birds, rabbits, and friendly deer. The large fenced-in backyard has plenty of room to play badminton, volleyball, cornhole, or your favorite outdoor games.

The first-floor bedroom has a queen-size bed, a large closet area, an office set-up with a computer monitor and printer, and a full bathroom.

The second full-size bathroom is located upstairs with the two additional bedrooms.

The master bedroom is located on the second floor and is furnished with a hotel premier collection hybrid king mattress, a full-size dresser, and a flat-screen smart TV with ROKU.

The third bedroom is also located on the second floor and includes two twin beds with bamboo deluxe pillow top mattresses, a writing table and chair, a dresser, and ample closet space.

This old house still has functional laundry chutes that send your dirty clothes to the basement where the washer and dryer are located. One is in the upstairs linen closet and the other is on the main living level.

We have a two-car attached garage (available upon request) for you to safely store your bikes, hiking gear, 4-wheelers, etc. There is a breezeway that connects the garage to the house which is a nice spot to relax and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The neighborhood and getting around - We are conveniently located in a quiet Medina neighborhood that is within walking distance of just about anything you need. Take a stroll and enjoy the many options available to you -- shopping, coffee shops, eateries, bakeries, breweries, art/craft galleries and studios, music venues, museums, cinema, groceries, churches, a public library, post office, banks, and our popular downtown festivals in the Historic Medina Town Square. There is always something happening in Medina, just visit MainStreetMedina.com for a current list of events. If you would rather not walk, Uber, Lyft, Medina Public Transit, and local taxis are an option.

HOUSEKEEPING - There is no daily housekeeping provided at the rental rate. Before check-in, our home will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected by a professional cleaning service. For longer stays, mid-stay cleaning services can be requested for an additional fee.

COMPLIMENTARY CONSUMABLES - We provide two starter sets of toiletries (soap, shampoo, conditioner) and coffee, creamer, and sugar. We offer mid-reservation supply replenishing at a minimal cost.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS - You will be able to self-check-in upon arrival. We are here for you during your stay, but our level of interaction is up to you. We are only a phone call or text message away.
