Handbuilt cabin for 2 (adults only please) sitting on 12 acres. Owners on front of property. No other guests are on the property during your stay. Sits in heart of big Amish settlement. In the country but close to Ashland city. Only 15 minutes from I-71. Check in between 2p and 7p.

This is a rustic handbuilt cabin for 2 adults for a camping experience. Twin bunk beds. We will provide sheets but please bring own bedding. Quickly go back to a simpler time where your heat is a wood stove and your alarm clock is the birds singing. No electricity. Outhouse with ecofriendly toilet and running water (for washing only). LED lantern and solar lights provided to light your way. Back porch with comfortable chairs to rest on. Outdoor firepit with cooking grate. Gazebo next to cabin with table for enjoying your meals or playing a game of checkers or cards. Enjoy a walk around the property on trails. Wildflowers and gardens. We are located in heart of an Amish community. You may see buggies, horse teams, animals of all kinds. Owner may be able to take you to visit Amish blacksmith shop, sawmill, and organic produce farm. These visits subject to Amish availability. Nearby attractions include Ashland University, Dragway 42, Grandpa's Cheesebarn, produce auction (seasonal), and local Amish roadside stands. Many food options available in Ashland or bring your own and use our grill.

Please be careful and watch out for Amish buggies/ wagons moving slowly on roadways. All main roads until our rural road.

- "Very nice old home built in the late 1800’s Is very spacious has a wonderful heated pool. The interstate is close so you are only minutes away from just about anything you need. The grounds outside are spacious and allow for outdoor gaming like badminton." - "We had a wonderful time on our second stay at this location. It was quiet and quaint, but a bit cold since we got our 1st snow of the season. It took a while for the furnace and space heaters to get to a comfortable temperature, although it didn’t ruin the experience. We would like to come back in the summertime for a bit longer stay to enjoy the outdoor experience of the deck and maybe even the lake with family/friends. We also got to experience the restaurant nearby which enhanced our stay even more since we didn’t want cook with a short stay. The only suggestion I would have is, unless I overlooked it in website, it took me about 10 minutes checking each door numerous times for a keypad. What a sign of relief when I finally noticed the lockbox mounted to the front railing,. I was trying to surprise my wife for a romantic weekend away and I thought I got scammed. Nope, once we got inside and saw how nice and cozy it was decorated and how much it had a feel of home. We talked about sitting down with the owners to hear the story of their times at the cottage. We imagined it was their getaway retreat home for the weekends to waterski and enjoy the lake. My wife worked with someone who’s husband we believe skied on the same ski team and they probably know each other. Never having a honeymoon this place was perfect for us and we couldn’t recommend it enough. I wish we go there once a month for a mini retreat from the hustle and bustle of life."

You have access to the whole house. Each room has it's own unique flare and amenities. The master has a small walk in closet and private half bath. The "Blue room" has beautiful vintage furniture and a large closet full of children's toys. The "Green room" has a queen size bed and a modern flare. The "Yellow room" is geared towards the traveler with a simple grace with a private balcony to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or book. Downstairs enjoy a private office space, reading lounge, large family dining room, quaint breakfast nook, large kitchen, front patio and sunroom/laundry room .

- "We enjoyed our stay at this historical home in Medina. The location was great...just a few blocks from Medina's square. The bedrooms were nicely sized with comfortable beds. The listing states sleeps 10 but I don't see how that's possible as there wasn't a pullout sofa. I would say sleeps 9 at most with one person on the couch. The house had a nice kitchen space with all you could need (foil, plastic bags, soap, sponge, etc) and laundry room with detergent. The front and back yards were large so lots of room for the kiddos to run around. The fire pit was nice, and it came with wood but there are no outdoor chairs to enjoy the space. All in all, we liked this home and would stay again!"

The enclosed front patio offers beautiful views of the sunset. There is a well equipped kitchen and also an outdoor patio with grill and fire pit for cooking out. A large pond is available for fishing. If you prefer to relax indoors there are two smart tv's and free wifi. One king size and one queen size bed offer a comfortable nights sleep. This home is also located near Ashland University , Rockin T Ranch, and Dragway 42. We are trailer friendly. Just let us know your bringing a rig. UPDATE: We now have rural water instead of well water. For those of you who have stayed with us previously you'll appreciate the difference. Note: Fireplaces have been updated with minisplits for better heating and cooling.

Any requests that come in after midnight while the cleaner is already scheduled for that day will have an additional cleaning fee.

Getting Around:
Travel by car is the most popular choice but being only 4 blocks from downtown Medina, it is a shorty Lyft/Uber from most venues to our home. Lyfts and Ubers are always readily available. The location is very walkable to all the events being held on the square.

Central Medina is mostly walkable from the property, otherwise Medina is mostly accessed by car, however, public transportation is available with published bus routes and there is always an Uber available!

Besides the plethora of Coffee shops, restaurants and the Medina Square within 4-5 blocks of our property, Medina is home or close to home for many Ohio businesses. Medina is also popular for family events such as:

The galley kitchen is fully equipped to prepare or serve your favorite meals. There is an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, pressure/slow cooker, griddle, coffee maker, bakeware, dishes, silverware, and much more.

The dining area includes a dinette set that can expand from 4 people to 6.

The large living room has 3 reclining chairs, a full-size couch, fireplace with a 55" wall-mounted flat-screen smart TV with ROKU. Wi-Fi is provided with GUEST MODE activation, so you are free to use any of the apps that appear on the television screen and also safely download your apps like Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc. apps. Your personal information is automatically deleted upon your checkout date. The living room cabinet is where board games, cards, puzzles, and a few books are stored for you to enjoy.

From the living room, walk out to the large cement patio where you can enjoy a campfire on the firepit, dine outdoors, relax in the sun, or enjoy the many birds, rabbits, and friendly deer. The large fenced-in backyard has plenty of room to play badminton, volleyball, cornhole, or your favorite outdoor games.

The first-floor bedroom has a queen-size bed, a large closet area, an office set-up with a computer monitor and printer, and a full bathroom.

The second full-size bathroom is located upstairs with the two additional bedrooms.

The master bedroom is located on the second floor and is furnished with a hotel premier collection hybrid king mattress, a full-size dresser, and a flat-screen smart TV with ROKU.

The third bedroom is also located on the second floor and includes two twin beds with bamboo deluxe pillow top mattresses, a writing table and chair, a dresser, and ample closet space.

This old house still has functional laundry chutes that send your dirty clothes to the basement where the washer and dryer are located. One is in the upstairs linen closet and the other is on the main living level.

We have a two-car attached garage (available upon request) for you to safely store your bikes, hiking gear, 4-wheelers, etc. There is a breezeway that connects the garage to the house which is a nice spot to relax and enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail.

The neighborhood and getting around - We are conveniently located in a quiet Medina neighborhood that is within walking distance of just about anything you need. Take a stroll and enjoy the many options available to you -- shopping, coffee shops, eateries, bakeries, breweries, art/craft galleries and studios, music venues, museums, cinema, groceries, churches, a public library, post office, banks, and our popular downtown festivals in the Historic Medina Town Square. This cozy apartment enters through a shared hallway and has been recently updated from floor to ceiling with new cabinetry and renovated kitchen and bathroom. Kitchen w/full refrigerator, stove and microwave. Queen size bed with large closet in bedroom. Full bath with shower unit. Washer and dryer located right outside of unit. Guests can visit the Ohio Light Opera, The College of Wooster, Smucker's in nearby Orrville, great walking and bike trails, golfing at Hawk's Nest ( 3 miles away) and Amish Country in nearby Holmes County. This is also a great place for business professionals or parents of College of Wooster or ATI students.

Guests are welcome to use the complex's common laundry area free of charge which is located in the central hallway right outside of the apartment. The kitchen is supplied with basic cooking items, but please let us know before hand if there is anything special you might need. If you have a traveler with gluten-free needs, please let us know so we can adapt our snacks accordingly.

We have affectionately named this former power station for the Interurban Railway, Streetcar Station. We hope you will find our apartment your "home away from home" while you are travelling. We respect your privacy and provide a keyless entry code for you to access the apartment at your convenience. While there are other long term occupants in the building, it is a nice quiet location. We are also available to answer any questions you may have prior to or during your stay if there is anything you need.

There are several steps upon entering the building and also a step down into the bedroom.

We have cable TV with high speed wireless internet through out the unit. Wifi is available throughout. Also available is an HDMI cable to use with our 50" TV.

Absolutely no smoking or pets.

We have video surveillance on site for enhanced security of our guests. There are two cameras - one is located in the parking area; the other is located in the main hallway that adjoins the apartments.
