The porch is a great place to sit and relax with outdoor dining , rocking chairs, and swings. In front of the porch is a grass courtyard that is also great for sitting and relaxing. There is a fire pit that is fun for roasting marshmallows or just sitting by the fire.

The house is perfect for large family and friend gatherings. It has a gourmet kitchen with large commercial refrigerator and freezer, gas commercial stove with six burners, a griddle, and two ovens. There is also a wine cooler, an ice machine, and two sinks.

The house has six large bedrooms with 4 king size beds and 4 queen size beds. It sleeps 16 comfortably.
We have a dock with a covered boat slip and a sun deck. It is located in a great area for swimming and fishing.

Our house is only a few miles from a marina with a public boat ramp. It is also close to town and near shopping and restaurant.

- "This listing was just as advertised. The house is huge and the amenities were outstanding. it has everything you need for a big family get together. We played pool, ping pong, corn hole, space evaders, basketball, and air hockey. The dock has two paddleboards,(careful that the Obama's aren't around), a paddleboat, and life vests. The kids used the hot tub two nights and we used the fire pit to make s'mores. All in all a good week and Brittney, the host, responded back with each message i sent. She wants to make sure you have a good time and is really helpful. We enjoyed the lake as we had a boat and a tube for the kids. The lake was actually very quite. Location: The property is approximately 1.5 hours from both Atlanta and Birmingham (located on lake side closest to I-20). In addition, the home has a new deck that extends 50 feet out onto the lake with a slip for you to park your boat.

The home is an open floor plan with high ceilings, and upgraded finishes throughout. ALL hardwood floors (no carpet/ basement is tiled), and flat screen HDTVs throughout the home. In addition, there are 2 living rooms, both equipped with custom stone fireplaces with gas logs, and large flat screens for your enjoyment. The property is surrounding by large, old oak trees, various outdoor gathering areas, including a large deck off the main floor, stone patio that overlooks the top of the property, and a fire table (seasonal) that resides on the deck that is furnished once temperatures drop.

Layout of home:
The living room opens up to a spacious kitchen and dining area. The fully equipped kitchen is well stocked with granite counter tops and stainless-steel appliances. Kitchen has stainless steel cookware (no non-stick), and stainless flatware. Off the kitchen you will find a casual powder room (half bath) and laundry area.

Relax in the master bedroom on the main level. The master bathroom has double sinks, a comfort height toilet, walk-in closet, and a walk-in fiberglass shower. You can also walk out on to the back deck from the dining area or the master bedroom. The large deck overlooks the lake with rocking chairs and has a Weber grill and is the perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee or to take in a sunset. Just beyond the deck is a beautiful stone patio, walkway and hammock where you can take in the panoramic views of the lake as well as various yard games. Please note the fire table is furnished for guests only during cold months (fall/winter).

Upstairs in the home you will find two large bedrooms, and a shared full bathroom with a shower/tub combo. One of the upstairs bedrooms has 2 double beds and the other bedroom has two twins and its own HDTV. You can look down over the main level, adding to the open feel of this home. The basement has a separate living area with a stone fireplace, television and gaming area. There is also a large en suite bedroom (queen) on the basement level that also has terrace level access.

Air Mattresses/Parking: Please note that we also do not allow air mattresses to be brought into the home and that space limitations require us to limit parking to 3-4 cars. There is no street parking.

A note of caution for those with limited mobility - consistent with the area, this property is elevated with beautiful views, and with those views come steps to the water. While the path from the home to the water is gradual, and constructed with several comfortable landings, there are steps to the water that we want all guests to be aware of prior to booking with us.

Swimming off the dock at Tranquility is some of the best on the lake! Located just off the main channel, our dock is located on water that is approximately 28 feet deep and makes for a wonderful day of swimming, fishing, and being at the lake.

Fishing on Lake Wedowee: A reminder that fishing on the lake requires a license that can be purchased online from the Alabama Dept of Conservation & Natural Resources.

When the weather cools: Lake Wedowee is not only spectacular during the spring and summer, but is also a peaceful getaway during the fall and winter months. Cozy up in this authentic log cabin beside either of the indoor gas fireplaces, or venture outdoors enjoy the fire table, grill and comfortable rocking chairs. The changing color of the leaves, hiking, and fishing in the area are all extraordinary during the cooler weather months. In addition, the cabin is decorated for the holidays beginning Thanksgiving weekend through New Year's.

Water in the off season: Alabama Power lowers the water level about 8' starting in early October until late March. It does affect the appearance of the shoreline but we have year-round water so you will always have a waterfront view at our home. While one of our docks remains floating, the walkway to get to the floating dock sits at an angle during some of the off-season.

We would love to host you and thank you for your interest in our home! Note that all booking guests are asked to be at least 28 years old and are required to sign a rental agreement within 24 hours of booking the home (government issued ID and a security/damages deposit hold of $500 to $1,000 are required to book the home. Please note that we also require guests visiting and staying on the property to be listed on the rental agreement.

Strict policy on Smoking: Smoking, including vaping, is prohibited in ALL areas of our property. Should you have a smoker in your group, please do not book this home. We do not allow smoking, vaping, etc. of any kind in the home, outdoors on our porches, decks, patios, gazebos, or on our dock.

Proximity to nature/wildlife: We are a cabin in the woods on a lake and are sharing space with wonderful wildlife and nature.

Security: Please note we have exterior security cameras on the front and back entrances of the property to both protect the home and all of our guests. In addition, our property manager lives nearby and can assist as a resource should emergency situations arise.

Stay requirements: We require a minimum during much of the peak season (Memorial Day - Labor Day), and over holidays. We also from time to time make exceptions to these requirements depending on holidays/existing reservations and invite you to check with us!

Watercraft, kayak & paddleboard rentals: Pontoon boat rentals are also available and begin at $350 a day, with multi-day discounts offered. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are also available with prices starting at $35 a day.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT AS OF OCTOBER 2024, both Alabama and non-Alabama residents are required to hold and carry with them a Certificate/License to operate a watercraft vessel on Lake Wedowee.

From the driveway, you enter the home on the main level and can see the lake from just about every window. The fully equipped kitchen has an island that seats 6. It opens into the family room with a dining table that seats 4, a stone wood burning fireplace and 60" TV. French doors lead out to the large covered porch that wraps around 3 sides of the home with a dining table that seats 6, a sofa, 2 cushioned chairs and 2 lounge chairs, gas grill and a Cornhole set. It overlooks the lake on 3 sides. The master bedroom, adjoining bathroom and walk-in closet include a chest of drawers and are all spacious.

From the main level, you can also go downstairs to the terrace level. There is a 2nd family room with a sofa, foosball and pingpong tables. There are 2 guest rooms and a large shared bathroom. Both have spacious closets and dressers for unpacking. Walk out the French doors to a terrace and down the path to the dock. Path is moderately steep.

There is a 4 burner gas grill (shown in the photos). The kitchen is stocked with a good variety of most commonly used spices, oil, vinegars, etc. We also provide paper towels, TP, napkins, dish detergent, dishwasher detergent, little shower soaps and hand soap in each bathroom.

We feel like comfortable beds and bedding are important to a great stay away from home. Our mattresses are all well-made and sheets are soft. Not only do we rent our home but our family also stays there as much as possible.

I mention in the descriptions above but all 4 bedrooms have dressers and spacious closets for unpacking and storing luggage.

If boating is your thing, rent a pontoon from nearby Wedowee Marina South, or launch your own boat from the neighboring public boat ramp and tie up right at our dock. After a full day of playing on the lake, gather around the 9-foot farm table for cards and board games, then head to the firepit to grill smores. Just steps away beckons the outdoor hot tub with beautiful lake views, where you can submerge and stargaze the night away.

The main level of the home consists of an open family room with a large sectional, 9-foot farm table, kitchen, master bedroom with ensuite bath, and 2 guest bedrooms served by a separate guest bathroom. The family room opens to a 2-story covered deck with a comfortable seating area and amazing views of the lake. In the back den there is another large sectional and 75" smart TV. The basement includes a large seating area and a smart TV, bar/kitchenette with a separate refrigerator, 2 additional guest bedrooms that sleep 6 people each, 1 full guest bathroom, and a washer and dryer. On the lower deck is a patio overlooking the lake, outdoor grill and smoker, and a private, outdoor shower and 7-person hot tub! A paved path to the lake passes a large fire pit and leads to the "Lunar Lounge," where the hanging bed invites you to while the days and the nights away. In front of the Lunar Lounge is a lakefront grassy space, perfect for laying out and playing about. (3) paddleboards are provided for you to explore. - "Family of 3 generations ages 4-84. Perfect space for everyone. Slope to water gentle enough for 84 year old. Lake Wedowee is beautiful. Lunar house was awesome-a lot of time spent there. Everything was very clean, kitchen well set up. Boat dock was great for fishing and docking our 19 ft boat. My favorite was the house screened porch with lots of seating. Communication with owner was excellent. Wish I could give 10 stars. We definitely hope to return."

The most beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bath loft apartment you ever “saw” “plane” and simple. It is on a quiet cove at Lake Wedowee, 5-6 miles from town. Gently sloping walk to lake, part being a boardwalk. Private apartment with parking and private entrance. You will have shared dock access with property owners. Dock has recently been renovated and enlarged with pergola and boat docking space. Modern fully stocked kitchen with new appliances. Master bedroom with king bed and private bathroom. The other bedroom is on the opposite side of the apartment. It has a queen size bed and complete bathroom a few steps away from bedroom. Entire apartment has been recently remodeled and updated. A retired carpenter and his wife (the Woods) live next door and are the owners. Washer, dryer and large screen (65inch)TV with DirecTV service. You will have no problem “chiseling” out time for fun. Sleeps 4 in beds with room for an additional 2 persons. No cleaning fee!

Our home away from home is privately nestled in the country overlooking a beautiful gunite salt water pool and beautiful quiet cove on Lake Wedowee at the north end of the lake.
It features an uncovered dock for swimming, fishing and boating. There is an outdoor pool shower and plenty of pool floats and lounge chairs. A few steps above you will find a nice spacious covered deck with a ceiling fan and outdoor dining set that overlooks the pool and lake, it is wonderful for enjoying the scenery while eating, drinking or simply relaxing.

From the deck you enter your private retreat of over 1750 sq. ft. our spacious and beautiful home on the lower level which is the closest to the pool, lake and an outdoor kitchen with bar with a gas grill, electric smoker, and refrigerator.
The home has a large open split floor plan with the kitchen, dining and living room that overlooks the pool and lake. The kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs, including a Keurig and a regular coffee pot, along with a large high top dining table/bar with seating for your whole family.

The living room has a cozy rustic lake style gas fireplace and comfortable sofas and two recliners for relaxing and watching the large 55" TV with cable and DVD player, there is also a chest full of DVDs, games and books for everyone. The master suite is located separately on one side of the split floor plan and has a comfy queen bed and large 50" TV with cable and DVD player, it adjoins the beautiful large master bathroom with double vanities, extra large shower and Washer/Dryer.
Guest bedroom has a comfy queen bed for guests, the beautiful bathroom has a large shower and single vanity. We provide free slow Wi-Fi for our guests.

There is a private designated parking spots on the driveway, a few steps away from your entrance.

Our home has two levels of living, the owner reserves the right to use the upper level periodically.

Bath towels and linens are provided, BUT LAKE AND POOL TOWELS ARE NOT. We enjoy lake life at Lake Wedowee Paradise and hope you will too!

The lower level is what is rented out, not the entire house. It's closer and more accessible to the pool and lake. You will enjoy the privacy and peace.

-Explore the Property: Dig for artifacts. There is treasure in the ground surrounding the cabin. We’ve found several valuable bottles. Finders keepers!

-Kayak or canoe down the Little Tallapoosa/Lake Wedowee. Put in at the launch, at the bottom of our River Road and take out.
-Swim in the river or deep holes in Wolf Creek

-Make a Pizza in the Wood Fired Oven: Make your own custom pie in our oven. All accessories provided.

-Check out the Muscogee/Creek Indian Trail Tree: Located down at the confluence where Wolf Creek meets the river/lake is a tree bent using a heavy stone to point the native peoples to special places of important. A confluence was a sacred spot for weddings/funerals.
-Search for Treasure: We have valuable bottles and other artifacts on the property just waiting to be found.
-Dig Arrowheads and Native Pottery: This was once the home to the bustling thriving Native Peoples/Muscogee or Creek Indians. There are artifacts to be found. We found an arrowhead recently.
-Forest Bathing:: Spending time in nature, with its perfect balance of sights, sounds, smells, and peaceful environment, offers essential rewards for our highly stressed mental and physical selves. No wonder the ecotherapy practice of forest bathing, otherwise known as Shinrin-yoku, is gaining steam for all the right reasons. Don’t be confused; the exercise has nothing to do with soap or water. Instead, the name refers to the way participants fully immerse themselves in — and reconnect with — nature.

The interior of the home is filled with massive windows that open onto the forest and the wildflower meadow and the guinea fowl. The walls are all sealed 1890s heart of pine flooring wood, with five species of 1890s barn stall wood on the floors. We used several gorgeous pieces of historic stained glass including the Noah’s Ark piece in the front gable from a church.

Amenities: hot tub, outdoor fireplace, wood-fired pizza oven, blackstone grill/griddle, nest swing, Adirondack chairs fridge, hot plate, microwave, toaster, AC/heat, designer walk in shower with marble and inlaid artifacts from the site.

Sleeps 4: queen sized bed in loft and full-sized futon downstairs.
