- "We can't say enough good things about our holiday in this house. The house itself is lovely, comfortable, with plenty of space and in different permutations for all 11 of us, including our children, grandchildren and brother-in-law. Between the main house, and the little cabanon behind the pool, everyone had appropriate room and bathrooms. The glory of the property is the beautiful shaded outdoor dining/living area easily accessible from both floors of the house and overlooking the pool. We spent most of our time there underneath the shade trees, which were lit by strings of patio lights in the evening - eating, chatting on the couches, keeping an eye on people in the pool just through the fence. The pool itself was wonderful - heated, with a heated outdoor shower (!), well maintained by a friendly person who came 3 times while we were there to check on the PH, and clean out leaves. As if that weren't enough, there's a petanque court in the front garden - we spent a fair bit of time there competing, chatting, laughing. Also a portable badminton net, which we moved around to stay in the shade. A fabulous view of Saignon from many angles, and an easy drive to get there for breakfast at Chez Christine, dinner at Le Jardin sur le Toit, and many other delights. Fun to spend time at the Apt market. Friendly people on hand to show us around and hand over the keys to at the end. A memorable holiday. Thank you so much!"

From there we could explore the entire Luberon without spending too much time commuting. We hoped for a peaceful, relaxed, holiday by the pool and were not disappointed. La Bastide is in a beautiful countryside setting, but it's still very easy to get to Apt for supermarket, restaurants, bakeries etc., as well as the wonderful Saturday morning market. La Bastide itself was perfect for our needs. We had some hot weather whilst staying (30C or more most days) and were very glad of the air conditioning, which made the interior very comfortable. The upstairs bedrooms were not quite so cool at night, but still much better than they would have been without air con! The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms clean and well appointed. The kitchen was very well equipped for our needs - and we made full use of the ice dispenser in the fridge! (I especially appreciated the fact that we were given the option to compost our food waste, and that it was easy to do and explained clearly - so often in holiday homes I feel guilty for throwing so much away, but this time I had no need to feel guilty) We had plenty of space to spread out, both inside and outside, and we all gathered around the table in the evenings for a meal and to play cards. Florent was an excellent host, with helpful suggestions and answers to our questions. We would definitely recommend La Bastide!"
