We had been touring England and France before ending our vacation in Irmgard's lovely villa where we relaxed by the pool, spent hours each day at Plage de Salins, and walked to the town center every evening for groceries and ice cream. The home is a free-standing private residence, not a townhome as we know it in the US. It is well equipped with water toys and also bikes (only 2.5 miles to the beach). Check in with Irmgard or Florence ahead of time about supplies as we ran out of toilet tissue and paper towels and Florence did not want to replenish it for us. Irmgard provided some nice drinks on arrival which were much appreciated!! The kitchen had a nice supply of spices, oil and vinegar as well as lots of dishes - we even hosted a luncheon for family."

Only better than this are the grounds of the house which have the most beautiful plantings and are very well maintained. The front yard has the best seating area with a view of the Sea and the ships. We even saw fireworks from the front yard on the 4th of July. The back yard is extensive and the upper pool area is so nice and relaxing. There is a gate with a clicker to get into the property which is very easy to use and adds to the privacy of the property. Walking into town is very quick - 10 minutes to the edge of town, 15 minutes to the center of town/port. It is a very direct walk down the street, just walking carefully is necessary. Last, the rental comes with the property's housekeeper Luciana who came a few times during our stay. She is the most lovely person - not only is she so good at her job but she is very kind and even helped us with some suggestions and needs. We could not recommend this enough and hope to be able to come back another time soon!"
