One thing to note - the location on VRBO map has the house in central Sarlat but it’s not, the listing rightly says it’s 3.5k outside Sarlat, so not sure why the map location is different. Also we wanted to be south of Sarlat near the Greenway cycle route and so we asked which side of Sarlat it was and were told by Louis, the booking assistant, that it was north of Sarlat and so we don’t book for the first few weeks of exploring but upon deciding to book anyway, discovered that it’s actually dead west of Sarlat which was better for us in the end. Otherwise all the communications were great and Nicole the host was amazing and helpful with lots of things and wanting to make our stay comfortable. We hope to visit again for sure!"

The website says that there will be information sent three days ahead of time but I had emailed Franck anyways and he didn’t seem to know this. His replies to my messages were very fast. He only speaks french and Italian. I translated my messages using Google translate and once we arrived we used my poor French and Google translate to communicate. The apartment is attached to his home. There was no noise from his house. It’s in a very quiet location with a beach at the end of the road. There’s an outdoor patio with comfortable chairs and a table. There’s a good restaurant right around the corner and a boulangerie very close by. We had a wonderful time there and highly recommend it."

Yet, while the villa ensures easy access to all the Côte D’Azur has to offer, it’s location in such a pretty and tranquil domaine means that on return from a day exploring you can easily relax and soak up the wonderful provençal atmosphere....... perfect! Our villa within the domaine is one of a small number of private one and two bedroom residences and is called Mimosa Villa for the 2 mimosa trees growing there. There was a very useful selection of food and household items on arrival so that we didn't have to buy many day-to-day items other than ongoing food requirements. A large supermarket is a 5 minute drive away. A very enjoyable stay. We even left something important behind and they went out of their routine to check for us and to help us to quickly return and collect the item. Lovely holiday."

There are a couple of nice pubs/restaurants nearby and a bakery. 15 minutes walk. Le Taverne du Troll is excellent and so is the bakery next door. Lidl is a 30 minute walk as is a more main area of the town with more restaurants and markets. Lionel, the owner, is very helpful if needed. He speaks very good English as well."
