Tips for Travellers If you intend to do some exploring then a rental car is a good idea. But Uber is readily available and not expensive. I would say think of what you would like to do, price up the uber trips and then check cost of rental - then decide which is cheaper. Factor in petrol and also parking - which can be a pain at times (in the towns not the Resort). Overview
This spacious three bedroom single-storey villa is located in the prestigious Vale do Milho area of Carvoeiro. It is peaceful and secluded, positioned towards the end of a cul de sac, so there is very little traffic. The villa is private and not overlooked by any of the surrounding properties. A large sandy beach with a restaurant and bar, ideal for watching the sunset, is a few minutes walk, as are a shop, several restaurants and a 9 hole golf course with restaurant. Carvoeiro village is a 5 minute drive away with a large choice of quality restaurants, bars, gift shops, pharmacy, banks and many ATMs. There is also the pretty town beach leading off from the central square with live music performances. There are also several other beaches within a short drive if you wish to explore.

The villa is suitable for all ages and is popular with families and couples alike. There is a roof terrace with seating for beautiful views of the sea or just star-gazing.

Inside the Villa
The villa has 3 double bedrooms, a master bedroom and two twins. The twins can be configured as doubles on request. The master bedroom has an extra large bed, overlooks the pool and has a large ensuite with a powerful walk-in shower. The main bathroom has a bath tub and a shower. There is also a separate cloakroom. All bedrooms and the lounge have air-conditioning. We provide a travel cot. Additional cots can be provided on request. A safe is located in the master bedroom. Each bedroom has ample wardrobe space and a dressing table.

Lounge
The lounge has comfortable sofa, armchairs, wood burning stove. There is a large TV with a wide range of international channels including live sports channels ( Sky Sports/TNT), stereo, additional seating area with swivel chairs, Please notify us in advance if you require wood for the fire. Please help yourself to the books and feel free to take away or leave behind.

Dining Room
You will enjoy most of your meals on the spacious terrace but for cooler days there is a large dining room with seating for 6 plus baby's high chair.

Kitchen
The fully-equipped spacious kitchen will meet all your cooking needs for self-catering, with gas hob, oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle. There is a Nespresso pod coffee machine as well as a filter coffee machine and cafetiere.

Outside
Sliding doors from the lounge lead directly onto a spacious terrace which has plenty of outdoor seating, drinks table, and a large dining table. This space is pefect for relaxing, eating, sunbathing. Steps lead down to the gated heated pool which is 10 m x 5m. Please Note Pool Heating Charge is £150 per week. The pool has a shallow end and a deep end, and you will find sunbeds and parasols around the pool. The pool area receives the sun all day long. All pool/beach towels are provided.

Barbecue
At one end of the pool area is the barbecue, with a large seating area. Barbecue utensils are located in the kitchen.

Maid service
A maid will attend 3 times per week to clean. She will also happily do laundry for guests on request as the washing machine is accessible only via the maid. There is also a house manager on hand to resolve promptly any problems which may arise during your stay.

Supermarkets
There are 4 supermarkets within a 5 or 7 minute drive. The Intermarche has a very good fresh fish counter and butchers. There is also a well equiipped shop at Rocha Brava, 10 minute walk away, for fresh croissants and pastries or that one ingredient you have forgotten.

This villa is perfect for families and couples alike looking for a quiet, peaceful villa but within easy reach of a beach, golf, shops and restaurants and the buzz of Carvoeiro centre. It is a favourite with many guests who return year after year.

Very private and very spacious Villa. From the photographs, you can't really tell how big the property is. This is far larger in real life and felt cavernous for our party of 4. Very nice, well maintained villa in the best location of Carvoeiro. Carvoeiro is one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Algarve since it has retained its charm. It offers everything you could wish for (www.mycarvoeiro.com). The beautiful beach "Praia Centianes" with beach bar is only a good 10 minutes walk away. The house is located near the center of Carvoeiro in the very pretty, traditional villa district "Vale de Milho", which also contains the 9-hole short golf course of the same name. Thanks to its elevated position on a cul-de-sac, the house enjoys a quiet location despite the central location. With its ideal south-west orientation, it offers all-day sunshine for a perfect Algarve vacation.

It has a large, totally private pool area with a generous terrace with sea view. Next to the large pool is the pool bar with gas grill and its own dining area. The area is nice and quite but is only a 10min walk to lovely beach at Praia do Vale de Centeanes and a couple of other restaurants/bars nearby and is maybe a 30-40min walk into the main town of Carvoeiro itself (you can easily get a taxi there and back which is maybe just over €6). The owner Katja was always immediately responsive to any questions we had and even accommodated our request to leave late on the day of our departure due to a time change on our flights. Would recommend a stay here and we will definitely be looking to book again at some point ourselves in the future :-)"

Within 5 mins by car is our favourite beach - Praia de Marinha with its natural arches and rock stacks. The smugglers beach at Benagil and Albandeira all have good beaches. Some have good beach restaurants. The coastline around Benagil is spectacular and the cliff walk from Benagil to Albandeira is rated one of the best cliff walks in the Algarve. There are said to be 82 named beaches in the Algarve, not to mention the hidden coves.

GOLF &TENNIS: The Algarve is renowned for its excellent golf courses, and the owners are keen Golfers.
Casa Cuba is situated centrally to most of the best courses, thereby offering an excellent base for golfers.
Vale de Milho 9-hole par 3 course is adjacent to the property. This is only a short course, but suitable for families, beginners and short game practice. The Pestana Golf Resorts (Vale da Pinta, Gramacho, Silves and Alto Championship courses) are 10/15 mins drive from Golfemar. Pennina and the Faldo and O'Connor Championship courses are all within a 15-minute drive. Salgados Links, Palmares and Golfe do Morgado are within a 20-minute drive. The Vilamoura courses are about 30 mins from the Villa.

The villa is on a 3000 sq m plot in a quiet residential area, in Areias dos Moinhos on a gentle hill, with panoramic sea views all the way round from east to west and views to the Monchique mountains. It is situated within 1.500m of the beach and a seven minutes walk to the centre of Carvoeiro. This villa has three bedrooms, all of them have a direct access to a large terrace with wonderful sea views to the Atlantic over the swimming pool (10 X 5 Metres). The villa is equipped with all amenities including a large well equipped kitchen, dining room, lounge room with International TV via satellite (ASTRA) and an open fire place and a barbecue area at the terrace. A central floor heating gives comfort in winter and the airconditioning is available in summer ( both against separate charge. A large garage that is provided, makes sure that your car is always kept to a comfortable temperature.

Travel : The villa is situated in Areias dos Moinhos, a 45 minutes drive from Faro airport. A car hire is not essential, but will enable guests to visit many of the more secluded beaches and villages nearby. From Lisbon, Carvoeiro is about 3-4 hours drive on the motorway. For those who do not wish to drive while on holiday, there are frequent buses and cheap taxis into the town from Rocha Brava, and courtesy coaches to the water-slide park (Slide and Splash) just the other side of the town. Rocha Brava also runs a courtesy bus into town and back a few times a day.

Nearby Attractions : Carvoeiro has very many bars and restaurants, with varying styles and prices, but all are good value. You can take a boat trip from the town beach to see the nearby caves at Algar Seco. There are two water slide parks within a short drive, and a small marine theme park (Zoomarine) about 30 minutes away. 'Krazy Golf' is a fun day out for the family, a short distance inland. Silves is a historical walled town just 15 kms inland, and the fishing port of Portimao is about 20 minutes drive along the coast westwards. This town has many larger shops. Further inland is the spa town of Monchique where you may take the healing waters.

- "This villa was marvellous. Spotlessly clean, extremely spacious with all bedrooms en-suite. The kitchen was equipped with anything you could possibly need and more. There were many places to sit and eat both outside and inside. The pool was a great hit but very deep so care should be taken with little ones, it did however have a shallow area that lead straight into the deeper water. There were many places to eat and drink within a 20 minute walk, some of which was quite hilly, a taxi could easily be found for about €5. The villas owner Paulo communicated well via message and answered any queries we had. His charming son greated us when we arrived with a selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. He showed us around the villa explaining things as he went. All in all a very enjoyable week was had and we would love to return at a later date."

It is also very easy to park your car very near the house. The comunal swimming pool is also very calm and relaxing. This newly built contemporary villa has been designed to enjoy the views from its elevated position overlooking Praia de Vale Centeanes and the Atlantic Ocean.

All main rooms including bedrooms in the main building have a south facing aspect allowing excellent views of the cliffs and the sea. They are furnished with glazed sliding doors allowing access to either the upper or lower terrace and flood the rooms with natural light.

The property has two parking areas, one within the gated grounds for up to two vehicles and one vehicle roadside at the first entrance.



The front door opens on to an open plan living area. The first impression on entering is the exceptional view from the wall to wall south facing glazed patio doors. The Villa worked well with our family, 9 of us from age 3 to almost 60. It was extremely warm when we were there but the air conditioning in each room was great. My only comment for others is it is in a hilly area for walking and the climb back from the beach is steep. My wife has mobility issues and this was a problem but taxis were cheap and plentiful to get us anywhere"

Benagyl beach is a zoo, thousands of people there on some days, best part was a latte in the cafes on the side cliffs and watching people try to kayak to the caves. The pool is beautiful clean and has washrooms in the area.The complex is very quiet so if your looking for a party zone forget it. Carvehero is about a 15 minute drive away, Smugglers beach is about 20 min walk along the cliffs away. The unit is well stocked for cooking, charcoal barbeque and the Beygil staff were excellant. 5 Suites, 6 wc, 4 walk in closets, swimming pool 4x10 m 2m depth, cascade, 600m walking to the earest bech and town center, where you can fin many restaurants and bars and shops. 3 main supermarkets less tha 1km away. Very beautyfull beaches a few km away, so we advise the use of a car. The Villa is very spacious, and has a terrace with sea view where you can enjoy very nice sunsets, this area has also one shower.
there is a totally independent maintenance room on the back of the vila at garage level where the owners can stay or not, as we need and if you don't mind.

- "Very nice stay here with two families of four. Good info beforehand from Paolo. Bedrooms worked incredibly well, each had a phenomenal bathroom attached and 3 of the 5 a walk in wardrobe. Rooms upstairs were light and airy. Downstairs rooms a bit darker but still worked well. Good aircon everywhere. Kitchen was lovely and high spec with all mod cons. Pool was a huge hit with the kids - long and relatively thin but very deep in part so great for jumping in. Location suited us well. It’s a 15 minute walk into Carvoiero which has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants and easy to get taxi or Uber back. We got Ubers slightly further out to dinner on a few occasions which was really easy. Also very easy to drive out to nearby beaches (Ferragudo less rammed than Carvoiero). Joao, Paolo’s son, was very friendly and helpful, and all ran smoothly. Highly recommended for families."

- "We just returned home for our amazing week at Villa Tara and couldn't be happier with our stay! We were a large group of 11 people (6 adults and 5 children) and the space was perfect for us. We all had space for sleeping and lots of outdoor spaces to relax. The pool was also a great benefit and we all enjoyed our time there to cool off. Marie was a wonderful support by providing us with lots of great restaurant recommendations which were nice and close to walk to/from or taxi back for 5 euro. We also loved an uber ride to Club Nau for a fun night out. A few beaches were also a close walk (A bit of a hill on the way back but still very manageable for our group) and others were an easy car ride away. Marie was also quick to answer any questions that we had and connected midway during our stay to see if she could help in any other ways. The pool and villa cleaners both popped in midweek and that we great to have clean towels, a pool check, etc. Our whole experience was wonderful at Villa Tara!"

The Algarve is a very well developed region with a wide variety of possible activities. In the vicinity of Casa Tamaris there are many larger and smaller beaches that invite you to relax, swim and walk. Also on the larger beaches there are offers for jet skiing, kite surfing or for a tour by boat through the caves. There is also a very nice hiking route along the cliffs between the beach of Benagil and Praia da Marinha. Within 20-30 minutes by car you can reach a larger water park, several larger and smaller cities with beautiful old towns and shopping arcades (Portimao) or historical sights (Silves Castle). For a day trip, a trip to the most southwestern point of Europe (Cabo de São Vicente) including a trip along the west coast, where you can discover hidden bays with beautiful beaches in a breathtaking panorama, is worthwhile. On the other hand, the Monchique Mountains with the Foia Mountain are also worth a trip, especially for lovers of hiking. In the town of Monchique, with winding streets and a beautiful view of the Algarve, it is worth trying some hearty regional specialties in a rustic restaurant.
